ALL MY CHILDREN

JUNE 19, 2002

PREVIOUSLY ON - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Liza: Your husband has no scruples!
Anna: That's rich coming from you.

Adam: I want an encyclopedic report on paternal custody agreements.

Chris: You can't marry a woman who's about to go to jail.
Ryan: Be happy for me, Dad.

Vanessa: You're not keen on this engagement, either?

TODAY’S - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

[PV INN – THE BRIDAL FAIR]
[Greenlee and Kendall face off]
Greenlee: Take it off.
Kendall: You take it off.
Greenlee: Hello? I'm about to go on. I'm in the fashion show.
Kendall: So, buy another dress.
Greenlee: You're not just an arsonist, are you? You're a thief!
Kendall: I did not steal this dress. I was thinking of buying it -- till I saw it on you.
Greenlee: Oh, like you're going to get a chance to wear it.
Kendall: Worry about your own wedding, why don't you.
Greenlee: You know, Ryan is going to realize one of these days very soon that you're just a skinny chip off the old block.
Kendall: I am nothing like my mother.
Greenlee: Oh. Hey, you know what? I guess not. I guess that means you take after your father -- a disgusted, demented man that's -- at least my father isn't a rapist and my mother's not trying to ruin my life because I ruined hers.

[Mary talks on the phone]
Mary: Vanessa Cortlandt. Don't tell me you don't know who she is. Well, for starters, she's an international drug dealer currently residing at oak haven. Because your newest young executive, Greenlee Smythe, is about to become her daughter-in-law. Right. Yes, and that would be a terrible tragedy for all concerned.

Simone: You know, I do like it up.
Opal: Yeah.
Simone: Yeah.
Opal: It's pretty like that.
Simone: Yeah.
Opal: Oh, look at this bracelet. Now, that is a beauty. Is that a family heirloom?
Simone: Uh -- actually, it's a gift.
Opal: You know something? I think I have a comb, a hair comb, that would match that exactly. Wouldn't that be nice? Let me go see if I can't find it. I'll be right back.

Roger: Don't take that off, please.
Simone: Go away.
Roger: You're going to break my heart all over again.
Simone: I'd like to break more than that after everything you've done.

[PV INN – OUTSIDE OF DAVID AND ANNA’S ROOM]
David: Liza, what are you doing here? Oh, all right, all right, all right. Why don't you tell me what's wrong, ok? What's --
Liza: Let me go of me. Let go of me! Oh.
David: Look, you just need to lie down. Don't try to fight with me. You can't even make it to the elevator right now.
Liza: My head.
David: Ok, all right. Why don't you come inside, sit right here by my room. Help you up, ok? Is this ok? You just need to rest for a little while. Here. Have a seat. I'll give you something for the pain if you want. I found her outside in the hall.
Liza: It's just a migraine.
David: If I didn't show up, she'd be on the floor right now.
Liza: I wouldn't be in this state if it wasn't for you at all.
David: Ok, well, you can explain that to me later on, ok? Why don't you just lie down --
Liza: No, stop it! I just -- you know, I don't care if I have to deal with this contract for the rest of my life. Just do me a favor and stay out of my life.

[VALLEY INN BAR]
Adam: Barry. Thank you for getting this together so quickly.
Barry: Adam, I need to be brought up to speed here. Are you thinking of divorcing Liza?
Adam: Did I say anything about divorce?
Barry: Well, why else would you be looking into getting custody of Colby?
Adam: I haven't decided what I want to do with Liza. But for now, nothing is off the table.
Barry: And when do you intend to confront her with what she did?
Adam: Not yet. She's too good a liar, Barry. I underestimated that woman. She embezzled Chandler funds, and I never suspected a thing. Well, now I know more than she does, and we're going to keep it that way until I tell you otherwise.
Barry: Yeah, but a custody battle, Adam -- that's got to be a last resort.
Adam: If we go our separate ways, Colby’s coming with me. This should help.
Barry: Well, Liza’s got plenty of ammunition, too, if she wants to prove you're an unfit parent -- your sleeping with a judge, your marriage to Arlene --
Adam: All right, all right, Barry. Fortunately, this time we don't have to worry about my checkered past.
Barry: No? Why not?
Adam: Because when I get through working Liza, she's going to look a lot worse than I ever could.

David: Why don't we not discuss business matters right now, Liza.
Liza: I have medication at home.
David: Would you get a cold compress for her, please?
Anna: If Liza wants to go home, maybe we should just call her a cab.
David: No, I think I should check her out. I mean, she may just have a migraine, but she did just have a brain tumor, so I think I should be sure.
Liza: I'm not taking any pills out of your bag.
David: Well, that's fine with me. Dot take any pills if you don't want to. Just let me check you out. You do want to know what's going on, don't you? Good. Let me see those pupils. All right, here. Follow my finger. Do you see any blind spots?
Liza: No, I just saw flashes of light and I felt nauseous.
David: I'm sure it's just a migraine, you know, probably brought on by stress, but I don't think she should get behind the wheel of a car just yet. Here, why don't you put this on. It'll make you feel better. Come on, lie back. In 10 minutes or so, you'll feel as good as --
Liza: Don't touch me. I don't want to take anything from you.

Kendall: You shut up about my mother. You don't know anything.
Greenlee: Please. I was there when Erica was trying to get rid of you. Too bad for Ryan she didn't pull it off.
Kendall: You know what? Every other word from you is "Ryan." You still have a thing for him?
Greenlee: What?
Kendall: Back in the days when you were stalking him -- did you ever get arrested for that?
Greenlee: Arrested? Let's see -- who do I know who's out bail and who's going to be back in stripes soon? Oh, that's right -- you.
Kendall: You'd love that, wouldn't you? But you'll see -- I’m innocent. I'll prove it to you. I'll prove it to everyone.
Greenlee: I don't care. And you know what else? No one else cares. So if you want to embarrass yourself by wearing my dress, go for it -- although you really don't do it justice.
[Dress tears]
Woman: Oh, my God!
[Women laugh]
Kendall: Did I do that?
Greenlee: You did it on purpose. Take off that dress and give it to me.
Kendall: No!
Greenlee: It's mine. You have no right wearing it anyway.
Kendall: Then get another dress.
Greenlee: No, give it to me. I need it. I'm not going out there looking like this.
Kendall: Whatever.
Greenlee: I'm up next. People are waiting for me.
Kendall: So, tough luck for you.
Greenlee: There is no way you are leaving in that dress.
Kendall: Back off! Don't you give me orders.
Greenlee: And don't you ever touch me.
Kendall: You --
[Kendall and Greenlee starts a hair-pulling - - knock-down fight]
Greenlee: Hey!
Kendall: Ha!

Myrtle: Opal? Opal, darling? They want us to park our bodies. The show is about to begin.
Opal: The fashion show?
Myrtle: Yeah.
Opal: The bridal fashion show? I've been waiting for this all evening.
Myrtle: Honey, it's only a fashion show. It's not a real wedding. You don't have to cry. Come on.
Opal: I know, but it seems I just can't help myself.

Chris: Bianca? Hi. Bianca: Hey.
Chris: Where's your mom?
Bianca: Oh, she took off in a big old hurry.
Chris: Really? Why?
Bianca: Same old thing -- she and Kendall were baring their teeth at each other.

[The bridal fashion show begins]
Woman: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to welcome you to the ultimate June wedding show.
[Applause]
Woman: Thank you. Now, I encourage you to browse, sample, shop to your heart's content because we have brought together a collection of designers who will show you how to make your wedding truly unforgettable. Now, as our models pass amongst you, it will take no great stretch of the imagination to envision yourself the center of attention. All right, our first model, Jasmine.
[Applause]
Woman: Jasmine is a vision in this strapless satin gown.

Roger: Don't shut me out. Talk to me, please.
Simone: Fine, but not here. Meet me at our bench in the park.
Roger: Now?
Simone: You want to talk? I have something to say to you.
Roger: I can't leave now. I'm the show's official father of the bride. I'm supposed to pose for photographs. I promised Greenlee.
Simone: Meet me in the park.

Woman: Embroidery takes this ivory silk satin gown to new heights. Simply beautiful. Thank you.
[Applause]
Woman: And Nadine looks like an absolute princess in this exquisite silk satin princess gown. Nadine, thank you. Absolutely stunning.
[Applause]
Woman: Ah, but, ladies and gentlemen, all of this has been but a prelude to our bride of the year. You could call her the final model of the bridal fair, or maybe we should call her the fairest of the fair. Ms. -- Soon to be a Mrs. -- Greenlee Smythe!
[Greenlee and Kendall come crashing into the room]
[Kendall screams]
Kendall: You little -- no, no! You -- you -- stop it!
[Women scream]
Kendall: Why, you little --
[Greenlee stops fighting and realizes all eyes are on her]
Greenlee: Um -- I am glad you all could join us. I -- I’m sure you're all moved as I am by the --
[Kendall grabs some food and throws it at Greenlee]
[Women scream]
Greenlee: That's it. Now you've gone too far!
Kendall: I'm real scared! Let go of me! You --
Mary: Somebody stop them!
Kendall: I will break you!
[Greenlee and Kendall continue to fight]
Greenlee: You want a piece of me? Huh? You want a piece of me?

Opal: Is anybody going to do something? Stop it!
Bianca: Stop it! Keep going!

Greenlee: You'll pay for this!
Kendall: Uh-huh!
Greenlee: For every dress, for every flower --
Kendall: Yeah?
Greenlee: For every petal of every flower!
Kendall: Oh, I’m scared!
Greenlee: I'll press charges!
Kendall: Bring it on, baby! Bring it on!
Greenlee: I'll be at your arson trial! Everybody here will! We saw your homicidal tendencies!
Kendall: If I had homicidal tendencies, your ass would be dead right now!
Chris: That's it!
Greenlee: I was right about you!

[Mary encourages a photographer to take pictures – he does and then rushes out]
Mary: Greenlee!
Greenlee: You're total trash!
Mary: Settle down! Get some dignity and calm down. Everybody, please just give us some privacy! Please just back away. Thank you. Oh, my God.
Greenlee: I've ruined everything.
Mary: No, it wasn't all your fault, obviously.
Greenlee: How am I going to explain this to upper management?
Mary: I don't know, but you better think of something quick because I just answered a call on your cell phone from your boss, Casey Wexler, and she wants to see you immediately.
Greenlee: It couldn't be about this.
Mary: She's demanding to know how this fiasco happened.

[THE PARK]
[Simone struggle to remove her bracelet]
Roger: Look, if you insist on taking it off, at least let me help you.
Simone: I'll do it. You just stay there.
Roger: Why are you acting this way, Simone? I can see this is just as painful for you as it is for me.
Simone: Never mind my pain. You're the cause of it all.
Roger: Well, now, that really breaks my heart.
Simone: Oh, yeah.
Roger: What can I do to show you how much I care?
Simone: You already did. You gave me that bracelet.
Roger: Which you just threw back in my face.
Simone: I know about the bracelet, Roger. Yeah, your wife -- your ex-wife -- explained it to me, how she had one just like it. You gave it to her when you were cheating on her.
Roger: You can't believe Mary.
Simone: How many women have you given that bracelet to, Roger, and do they all end up throwing it in your face?
Roger: Mary is a very vindictive woman. She can't stand to see me happy.
Simone: Oh, stop it! I'm not listening to you anymore. I won't.
Roger: Because of Mary?
Simone: Because of me. I have been stupid long enough. I actually -- I actually missed you. There were moments, seconds that I thought I was making a mistake.
Roger: Oh, I know that.
Simone: Oh, you know? It's over, all right? We're done. And it doesn't matter what you say. If I see you on the street, I will look straight ahead. Now, leave me alone. Roger: If I can't -- if I can't live with your love, I’ll get over it. But you have to make it up to me somehow.

David: Well, I’m happy you're feeling better.
Liza: Does anybody ever fall for this smarmy bedside manner of yours?
David: If you're strong enough to be rude, you must be strong enough to go home.
Liza: You took advantage of my illness. What kind of person does that?
David: You know, I’m not strong enough for this discussion. But don't worry about it -- if you collapse outside my door again, I’ll be there to pick you up. I took an oath.
Anna: Liza, I really don't think you're well enough to drive. Can I get you a cab, please?
Liza: I'm fine. You should wry about yourself. You should think about what we talked about earlier.
[Liza rushes out of the room]
Anna: You're going to let her walk out of here?
David: She made it very clear that she did not want my help. But what did she mean just now when she said, "remember what we talked about earlier"? Did she come here to see you?

Adam: Liza, sweetheart I’m glad I found you. I -- as a matter of fact, I was feeling rather guilty.
Liza: About what?
Adam: Letting you come down here alone to face Hayward.
Liza: It -- it's over.
Adam: Well, by the look of it, it wasn't easy.
Liza: Well, the important thing is that he knows that I’m on to him.
Adam: Oh, oh. Well, I’m sure you did what you thought was right.
Liza: And you don't? Adam: Well, it doesn't matter what I think.
Liza: It matters to me. You think I’ve made a mistake.
Adam: Oh, yes.

Anna: Liza really believes that you took advantage of her. I have -- honestly, I have no reason to doubt her.
David: Oh, please. You don't give a damn about Liza. And her business methods are a hell of lot more ruthless than mine will ever be.
Anna: You're right -- I don't give a damn about Liza or her business methods.
David: Good. Then spare me the lecture.
Anna: What I should have spared myself from, David, is you.

[PINE CONE MOTEL – RYAN’S ROOM]
Kendall: What, did I forget to say, "thanks for the ride"?
Chris: No.
Kendall: Oh. Did you forget to tell me to get lost? No need.
Chris: You know, you're one sorry pain in the butt.
Kendall: You don't have to say that, either. It's written on your face every time you look at me.
Chris: I'm not through with you yet, Kendall.

[VALLEY INN BAR]
Liza: Since when do you think I can't take criticism from you?
Adam: Of course you can take criticism from me. It usually goes in one ear and out the other.
Liza: But you -- you think I made a mistake confronting David?
Adam: Liza, let's not deal with that right now. Come on. You still have a headache.
Liza: No, I’m -- I’m better.
Adam: But it was worse.
Liza: No, I don't -- there's nothing wrong with me. I want to have a conversation with you, and not about my health.
Adam: All right. Well, let's go home. You can put your feet up and relax, and then, when you're up to it --
Liza: No. Besides, I promised Stuart that I would go to the day of compassion ceremony.
Adam: Yeah, well, so did I, but --
Liza: Well, I’m not going to miss it. Can I have a pot of tea, please? I'll just rest here. Please, just tell me what you're thinking.
Adam: You make it sound as if you think I’m keeping something from you. That's not the case. We have no more secrets from each other. Do we?
Liza: Exactly.
Adam: Exactly. And I just don't think that you should lower your guard with a man like David Hayward. If he knows what you're thinking, he's just going to work that much harder to cover his tracks.
Liza: Adam, I know that's a fundamental rule of business.
Adam: And of life, actually.
Liza: Yes, and I did it on purpose. I wanted David to know that I was watching him.
Adam: I have every confidence in you, Liza. You have always been one of the sharpest, most intelligent people I’ve ever known. And you still are.
Liza: I still am?
Adam: I don't want you to doubt it.
Liza: Why should I doubt it?
Adam: You shouldn't. That's what I just said.
Liza: Are you saying that I shouldn't doubt it because of the brain tumor?
Adam: Who said anything about the brain -- Liza, are you ok?
Liza: Are you saying that I’m losing my edge? Is that what you're saying?

David: So you don't give a damn about Liza or this contract I supposedly fooled her into signing?
Anna: No, I already said that I don't.
David: But you're still going to list all my faults, aren't you? Well, that's great. Just one more time having to listen to you tell me how crazy you are for getting hooked up with someone who's so amoral and untrustworthy and how if you were smart, you'd be running for the hills, right?
Anna: I mean, I don't know. That seems to be the general consensus. That's exactly what Liza just said to me, and tad martin said something along the same lines.
David: And you're going to listen to them? Nobody but us knows what we have, Anna. And as much as you like to tell me how bad I am, that's exactly one of the reasons why you like being with me.
Anna: Yeah. I know. Here I am, married to you, and every day there is something new -- something -- some other reason to make me reassess what kind of man my husband actually is.
David: You know who I am and what I am. And you knew that before we even got together.
Anna: You ruined Dixie’s memorial service because you felt like it, because you wanted to be the center of attention.
David: Can we not go there again, please?
Anna: And then you had Aidan arrested, you know, and I’m still trying to justify that to myself. And I walk in here and Liza’s sitting there.
David: Oh -- you just admitted that --
Anna: What kind of a man takes advantage of a person's illness? No matter how much it benefits mankind. She is an important woman. And she is married to a very dangerous man.
David: I'm not afraid of Adam Chandler.
Anna: Well, you should be. Why are you not afraid of any of these consequences? You know, you seem to get off on being in the center of every drama, every conflict that there is --
David: Oh, please!
Anna: Without any thought to who might get hurt.
David: You thrive on conflict just as much as I do. I mean, you're the one who urged me to go to Dixie’s memorial service. And when I walked into that park and I saw Aidan hovering over you, he could have been a serial killer.
Anna: Oh, come on.
David: I was defending you. And as far as Liza’s concerned, if you read about her predicament in the newspaper, you would turn the page. You know, but the difference is here, now that I’m involved, that's what the problem is.
Anna: Yes. You're involved. You're my husband. That's the point.
David: No, the point is this. You're using all of this as an excuse to walk away from me.
Anna: No, I’m not.
David: Yeah, yeah, that's it. Because then it's my fault when you give up on us, right? It's much safer, much better that way than having to face the truth.
Anna: Oh, what is the truth, then --
David: Oh, well, that's simple.
Anna: In your opinion?
David: That's very simple. The truth is this, Anna. You want to love me exactly the way I am, but you're afraid, you're petrified. And nothing I do or don't do is ever going to change that fact.

Simone: What do you want from me, Roger?
Roger: If I can't have you in my life, I’ll live with that. However, there was something else between us. Our book deal.
Simone: Our book deal?
Roger: Our book deal.
Simone: I know what you're doing, Roger. You think that if we see each other, if we work together, that I won't be able to say no to you.
Roger: Oh. You know me so well, don't you, Darling?
Simone: Well, I’m sorry. A clean break is the only way --
Roger: Fine, fine. If you knew me really well, you'd know that I have had it up to here with your freaking weakness!
Simone: You don't have to be like this, Roger.
Roger: All right. A clean break is not an option, ok? But we will work together like brother and sister. I will keep my mitts off you, but we will finish our book.
Simone: If you feel this way, then why work with me?
Roger: Because I’m down to my last dime, that's why. Because I’m tired of using my daughter's credit card to buy you flowers to make you come across.
Simone: You're broke?
Roger: Oh, my. My, when you say it that way, you know, it makes me really sad. But a big, fat advance from your publisher would really cheer me up.
Simone: It's always been about the book deal? That's all you wanted from me?
Roger: Well, no, not all. You're a lovely and beautiful woman, and I’ve enjoyed everything that we've done together.
Simone: Oh, my God. You -- you didn't mean anything that you said to me? When you begged me not to give you up and you told me that I was the only woman that ever made you feel like you --
Roger: Stop it, stop it, stop it. I was there, remember? Don't go there. It'll only embarrass you. Now, when do we get to work?

[REVELON – GREENLEE’S OFFICE]
Greenlee: Casey didn't get mad. She's very understanding.
Mary: Thank God. At least we don't have to start cleaning out your desk.
Greenlee: She was even nice about these.
[Greenlee hold up pictures of the fight]
Mary: Oh. You and that stupid girl.
Greenlee: How could they have gotten these horrible photographs so quickly?
Mary: I don't know, but at least be grateful that nobody's making an issue of it around here.
Greenlee: Not yet, anyway. Casey said they won't send them to the press.
Mary: Darling, you were very lucky.
Greenlee: I guess.
Mary: Which means, you have to be extremely careful in your job. Any adverse publicity that you create is going to threaten your job, and you could lose everything.
Greenlee: I don't think my boss will be so understanding next time.
Mary: I don't think there can be a next time. Did she say anything else?
Greenlee: No.
Mary: No? Huh.
Greenlee: What am I saying? Yes. She mentioned Vanessa.
Mary: Vanessa?
Greenlee: Somebody in the company got a phone call tonight describing my connection with that psychotic, drug trafficking witch.
Mary: Greenlee, I was afraid this was going to happen.
Greenlee: Casey thinks I should scale down the wedding, go low-profile. Doesn't exactly make for my reputation having Proteus as my mother-in-law.
Mary: Well, maybe you should listen to her to prevent an even bigger disaster.
Greenlee: Someone sent these photos to my boss tonight. Someone made that anonymous phone call. I wonder who it is.
Mary: Maybe it was Kendall.
Greenlee: Kendall was otherwise engaged tonight.
Mary: Oh, right.
Greenlee: Why would someone want to trash my wedding like that and break my heart, Mother?

Kendall: You're still here?
Chris: You made a fool of yourself today, Kendall.
Kendall: I'd say Greenlee was the winner there. She was the one with her knickers hanging all over the place.
Chris: You know, you're just -- you're just one long, desperate cry for attention, aren't you?
Kendall: Yeah? When you think Erica does it, you think it's cute.
Chris: And the only thing that you regret about today was that Erica left early before you had a chance to humiliate her, right?
Kendall: Erica could not have a lower opinion of me than she already has. She told me I have my father's eyes, proof that I’m no better than he is. But guess what -- I don't care what Erica thinks of me.
Chris: Yeah, right.
Kendall: I don't. I have Ryan now. He's all I care about.
Chris: Speaking of Ryan, how do you think he'd feel if he knew what you did today?
Kendall: He doesn't have to know.
Chris: Well, I’m not going to tell him. You know why? Because I wouldn't hurt him like that.
Kendall: Neither would I. I love him.
Chris: I don't think you do.
Kendall: Why? Because I mixed it up with Greenlee?
Chris: No, because you're going ahead with this marriage. If you really loved him, Kendall, you would let him off the hook and get out of his life for good.
Kendall: Here's all you need to know, Chris. When the trial is over, Ryan and I are leaving here and we're never giving you a second thought.
Chris: That's pretty optimistic, isn't it?
Kendall: This was all Ryan’s idea. He planned the whole thing.
Chris: Oh, no, no, I’m not talking about the trip part, I’m talking about the trial part. You -- you actually think you're going to walk out of that courtroom?
Kendall: I'm innocent.
Chris: And what if the evidence proves otherwise?
Kendall: I don't care about the evidence.
Chris: Well, the jury might. What happens if they find you guilty? What are you going to do?
Kendall: Ryan believes in me.
Chris: Right, he wants to get married the day before the trial begins.
Kendall: That was his idea, too.
Chris: Right. And -- and what are you going to do then? Have you thought for one second what will happen to you two, what your life will be like together if you are behind bars?

Adam: It is not good for you to get agitated. Now, let's just drink our tea and --
Liza: You know, I just want a straight answer from you. You -- you don't think that I’m as sharp as I used to be?
Adam: For crying out loud, Liza, how could you be? With everything you've been through? And it's bound to be temporary. Well, how's the headache?
Liza: I'm fine. David said they're due to stress.
Adam: Yeah, well, good -- all the more reason for you to slow down. Let me handle the situation with Hayward.
Liza: You don't think I’m up to it?
Adam: Liza, there's no point in subjecting yourself to unnecessary stress. Just last week, I was talking to Dr. Decarlo at the hospital, and he suggested --
Liza: Wait a minute, wait a minute. What are you doing talking to Dr. Greenberg's partner? Why?
Adam: Well, he was --
Liza: Why wouldn't you tell me that you did that? Why would you do it?

Anna: What precisely is it that I am so scared of?
David: You tell me. Anna: Well, you're the doctor.
David: Well, the standard answer would be that you're afraid of losing your independence, your identity.
Anna: Oh. And you're willing to go along with that?
David: Then what, Anna? Any time I give the least amount of pressure on you to share our lives together -- I suggested that we buy a house or have a baby -- you give me every reason in the world why it's not possible. You act like you don't want to be with me, though I know that's not the case.
Anna: How can you be so sure of that?
David: Because I know you,
Anna, and I know you want to be with me. We belong together. There's no use fighting that fact.
Anna: Why the hell do I want to be with you? Why the hell would I invest in caring for someone who is so determined to throw everything away every chance he gets?
David: All right, let's not get angry about this, ok?
Anna: This -- this living dangerously that I’m supposed to be so attracted to -- I hate it. I hate it.
David: Really? Well, isn't that interesting? Because any time I offer you a willow tree or a cozy fireplace in a house somewhere, you reject that, too.
Anna: Because it can all go away. See, you're willing to risk it all, and that is fine when it's just your life. But when it includes me, as well, you know, and you say that you are not afraid of anyone, that scares me because that means you have no regard for your own safety or your own life. So how can we possibly make any plans?
David: Then I’m right. You are afraid, Anna. But not of losing yourself, of losing me.

Greenlee: If there is somebody in this company out to get me, I have to find out who it is.
Mary: Why don't you just leave things alone? You're not in trouble --
[Phone rings]
Mary: And everything has miraculously sort of settled down.
[Greenlee answers the phone]
Greenlee: Yes? Yes. Oh. Oh, but I left a trusted -- yes, Casey. No, I’m very, very sorry. I will get to the bottom of this.

Mary: What now?
Greenlee: The station that I was supposed to be at at the bridal fair -- it was left unattended.
Mary: Greenlee, how could that happen?
Greenlee: I left Simone there. She's very, very competent. There's no way she could have blown it off. You know, I didn't see Simone there when we left to come here. Did you?
Mary: No. I was too busy focusing on helping you settle down and --
Greenlee: Thank God you were there. Daddy was long gone, I guess.
Mary: Forget about your father. Now, I want you to tell me really, what do you know about this Simone?
Greenlee: She's the best.
Mary: She used to be a reporter. You said she wanted to get back into it. Is there any remote possibility that she could have been the one --
Greenlee: No.
Mary: That called your boss --
Greenlee: No, no, no, no.
Mary: To create a story?
Greenlee: No, Simone is the one person that I do not have to worry about.

Simone: You expect me to work with you -- now, after all the lies? Are you out of your mind? I don't even want to see your face again -- ever!
Roger: You know what? I can understand why you'd feel that way, and it leaves me feeling very lost.
Simone: I could care less how you feel.
Roger: It's a good damn thing that I have a competent therapist to talk to, somebody who will really listen to my problems.
Simone: You will not tell my father about this.
Roger: Well, who else do I have, dear?
Simone: You're blackmailing me?
Roger: I'm only following my doctor's advice. And he tells me that it's very harmful for me to keep things bottled up inside of me.
Simone: Don't do this, Roger, please.
Roger: Why? Because of all we've meant to each other?
Simone, I just want to be your friend and your colleague. So, we have a deal? Let's shake on it.

Adam: Liza, let it go. You're making too much of it.
Liza: Why would you consult with another doctor without even telling me? Well, what are you afraid of?
Adam: Nothing.
Liza: What did Dr. Decarlo say to you?
Adam: Liza, let's not get into that now. It's not going to do you any good to worry about the tumor or any of the other symptoms you're experiencing today. Liza, let me take you home. You should be in bed.
Liza: What's happening to me? Oh, Adam, please help me.
Adam: Of course I will, Liza. Of course I will. What else would I do?

Anna: Ok, maybe you're right.
David: You don't have to worry about losing me.
Anna: Yes, but I do. Don't you see? Don't you see that all this time you thought that I didn't want this perfect, peaceful, normal life that you've been offering me and you thought I wanted something closer to the life I had before, on the edge. Well, you're wrong.
David: Then where's the problem? Anna, you can have that. I'm offering that to you with all my heart.
Anna: Yes, but with no regard for yourself or what might happen to you.
David: I don't understand. What -- what exactly are you afraid of?
Anna: Well, living the way that I used to live, you know, I always expected the worst. I was prepared to be left behind. And ultimately, I was. I saw Robert die, you know? And I -- I don't think that I could survive that a second time. Yes, I love you exactly the way that you are. I couldn't stand to lose you.
David: The most important thing you just said is that you love me. You do love me, Anna. And that makes everything else all right.
Anna: Oh, yes, yes, yes, I love you. I love you. Are you happy now?

Chris: Kendall, I -- I wasted many years of my life waiting for a woman that I couldn't have. I'm not going to let that happen to Ryan.
Kendall: Neither will I.
Chris: Well, then don't let him crawl into a cell of his own, waiting for you to get out of yours.
Kendall: Ryan wants to marry me. He's sure that I won't be convicted.
Chris: What if you aren't? What are you doing to him? He's going to be running for your sake. He's going to be running away from everyone and everything he cares about.
Kendall: Including you.
Chris: I'm the only family he has.
Kendall: Ryan and I don't need family.
Chris: Everyone -- everyone needs family.
Kendall: Look, I’m not forcing Ryan to do anything, ok? He's free to do what he wants when he wants it.
Chris: And so are you. You're willing to live with yourself, knowing that Ryan is throwing away, wasting his life because of you? You're willing to let that happen to him?
Kendall: I'm not doing anything to him.
Chris: If you really did care about him, Kendall, there's something that you would do.
Kendall: Like what?
Chris: You would just break up with him.
[Door slams]
[Ryan comes into the room]

ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Simone: You will pay for this. I swear you will.

Leo: Mary, Mary, Mary, what did you do now?

David: Tell me, what is it that you want from me?

Erica: What's your name?
Aidan: Aidan Devane.

Ryan: Why don't you run back to Erica and tell her this didn't work.
