ALL MY CHILDREN

APRIL 13, 2000

Edmund: Some place, huh?
Alex: Yeah, if you're into cold, dreary, and bleak.
Edmund: Anything look familiar?
Alex: Nothing. Dr. Griffith's office is there.
Edmund: Oh, good. You starting to remember?
Alex: No, it says so on the door.

Nurse: Can I help you?
Alex: Oh. Hello.
Edmund: Yes, good -- afternoon. We're here to see Dr. Griffith.
Nurse: And you would be?
Edmund: Edmund Grey and Alexandra Marick.
Alex: Yes.
Nurse: I don't see an appointment.
Alex: We don't have one.
Edmund: It's not for lack of trying. I've left several messages with Dr. Griffith.
Nurse: Dr. Griffith is a very busy man.
Alex: Yes, I can relate to that. I'm co-director of the Andrassy Foundation for rare diseases in the United States and I also practice, so I do understand, believe me.
Nurse: Yes. Perhaps we can make an appointment to discuss your foundation. Oh, I see he has an opening at 10:30 In the morning next Tuesday.
Alex: Well, actually, we're not here to discuss the foundation. It's more personal. I was a patient here once.
Nurse: I see.
Edmund: No, I don't think you do. We need to see Dr. Griffith today, now.
Nurse: I'm terribly sorry, but that is just not possible.
Edmund: Either inform Dr. Griffith we're here or I'll go through that door and I'll tell him myself.
Nurse: That won't be necessary. I'll relay the message. Kindly have a seat and wait over there.

Alex: I bet she's in there right now complaining about how brash you Americans are.
Edmund: That's just what I want her to think. We didn't come this far to be shown the door.
Alex: Well, it's so strange. I mean, I spent a significant amount of time here, but nothing looks familiar to me.

Vanessa: Here you are. I just called your room. Have you found the emerald yet?
Paolo: Angel, no, I have not seen it yet, but I have turned the entire room upside down.
Vanessa: All right, well, let's just go back upstairs and turn it right side up because I have to find that stone.
Paolo: There is nothing I would like more, but right now I have a little business to take care of.
Vanessa: What kind of business?
Paolo: Are you busy this afternoon? Because we can go back to my room and explore every inch of it, hmm?
Vanessa: Please be careful, darling. This is a public place. Palmer could walk in here any moment.
Paolo: I know. But, you know, I get around you, and I forget myself.
Vanessa: Really.
Paolo: Promise me?
Vanessa: Yes, I promise.
Paolo: See me later?
Vanessa: I promise. Just control yourself.

Paolo: Ahem. Ahem. Apologies. Not used to getting up this early.
Erica: Save it, will you please? You're in luck anyway because David is late for breakfast, too. But what could be keeping him? I mean, he always has breakfast. And I was very careful, you know. Here I am wearing exactly what I had on yesterday.
Paolo: You mean I could've slept in this morning?
Erica: Will you please stop it? Don't yawn. Are you kidding? Stop it. Someone might think that you are bored.

[Paolo yawns]

Erica: Are you kidding?
Paolo: I'm sorry.
Erica: I'm telling you, when David comes through that door, I want you to look at me with total admiration -- admiration and adoration -- or I will send you straight to jail, straight to jail without a second thought. Have you got that?

Adam's voice: I really thought you'd forgiven me.
Liza: I'm sorry. I was afraid something like this would happen. My husband, your CEO, Is incapable of running this company. He has completely lost his mind.

Secretary: Good morning, Mrs. Chandler. I have your newspapers. The "London Monitor," the other Europeans, the "Times" --
Liza: I didn't ask for these.
Secretary: Mr. Chandler always reads these over a cup of coffee. How would you like yours?
Liza: I don't. I prefer tea. And please don't bring me this dead pile of trees. I own a television station. I can get my news elsewhere. Could you make that mint tea?
Secretary: Right away, Mrs. Chandler.
Liza: Thank you.

Marian: Liza -- oh, excuse me.
Secretary: This way.
Marian: Right. Have you seen this morning's paper?
Liza: Well, obviously I've seen some papers. Why?
Marian: Well, take a look at this one.
Liza: Oh, my God. How did this get out so quickly?
Marian: Then it's true? Adam appeared before a judge, and you had him declared delusional?
Liza: Yes. It was all according to the book. But I've got to get the head of the PR Department on the phone. Company directory -- Pam!
Marian: Liza, listen to me. I'm worried about this.
Liza: Well, so am I. You never know who's aligned with whom.
Marian: Not that. This whole thing. What am I going to tell Stuart?
Liza: Well, how do you know that he doesn't know? I mean, he might have read the paper.
Marian: No, he left early this morning for the gallery. I'm sure he doesn't know yet. But he's going to be devastated when he finds out.
Liza: You just got to tell him that he had a nervous breakdown.
Marian: Darling, Adam causes nervous breakdowns. He doesn't have them. Stuart won't buy that.
Liza: Well, you're a saleswoman. You got to get him to buy it.
Marian: Liza, what am I going to say to him?
Liza: Listen, mother, do you understand if all this comes out what's going to happen? Everything that Adam's done is going to come out in the open. Stuart is going to know that Adam tried to destroy your marriage. Now, that is going to devastate him.

Dixie: Hey, what's all this? Did we have an anniversary I forgot?
Tad: No, no, no, no. This is just a little celebration in honor of something I like to call "The Dawn of Peace in the Valley of Pine."
Dixie: Oh, is this about your big night with Adam?
Tad: Yeah. I was right. It's over and done with. Adam's reign of terror is a thing of the past. And, best of all, as promised, nobody got hurt.
Dixie: Really?
Tad: Uh-huh.
Dixie: How'd you pull that off? You and Liza, huh?
Tad: Uh-huh.
Dixie: You know, I waited up for you last night. Fell asleep before the 11:00 News.
Tad: Oh, baby, I just wish you could have been there to see the look on Adam's face. It was great. He had no idea what hit him until it was too late.
Dixie: Too late for what?

Junior: All right.
Dixie: What happened?
Junior: These for us?
Dixie: Yeah, yeah, they're for us. Don't eat too many, ok?
Tad: Ah, don't rain on his parade. It's you and me, kiddo. We're going to do up the town. Just let me heat them up. I'll be right back.

Dixie: Ok.
Junior: Mom, I was wondering, maybe you could call up Dad. I saw a new ad for a driving range. And I know he likes golf, so I was thinking maybe he could take me.
Dixie: That's a great idea. You know, I'll -- I'll call him later, ok? But let me -- let me go get some milk for those muffins. I'll be right back.

[Junior turns on TV]

TV announcer: Adam Chandler, founder and head of Chandler Enterprises, was taken to --
Junior: Hey, Mom, Dad's picture's on TV.
TV announcer: Where he was reportedly committed. According to sources, Mr. Chandler experienced a severe mental breakdown during a board meeting.
Junior: Mom!
TV announcer: Mr. Chandler's wife, Liza Colby Chandler, has stepped in as acting CEO No official word yet from Chandler Enterprises, but inside sources quote Mrs. Chandler as saying her husband has completely lost his mind.

Dixie: Give me that.
Junior: What did he mean?
Dixie: Uh --
Junior: What is that guy talking about?
Dixie: Sweetie, I'm sure that it's --
Junior: What's wrong with my dad? Is he sick? They took him to a mental hospital. What's wrong? I -- I got to get dressed.
Tad: Junior, take it easy.
Junior: I got to get dressed. I got to see him.

Dixie: Nobody got hurt? Junior --
Tad: Dixie --

Marian: Did you think you could put Adam in a loony bin and nobody would notice? I'm telling you, the press is going to be all over this thing and Stuart's going to insist on seeing Adam right away.
Liza: Well, you know what? You just have to tell him that Adam is not taking visitors at this time. You might be jumping ahead of yourself, you know. He might already know. He might have read the paper. He might not think anything of it, considering the stress that Adam's been under recently.
Marian: Don't underestimate Stuart. He loves his brother very much. He's going to insist on seeing him, Liza.
Liza: Well, you got to stop him.
Marian: Well, what do you expect me to do, lie to him again?
Liza: Mother. I'm not asking --

Hayley: What the hell is going on? "Adam Chandler trades boardroom for rubber room"?
Liza: Hayley, that's "The Exposure." They sensationalize everything.
Hayley: Is it true? Is my father in Oak Haven?
Liza: He's been under a lot of stress recently. I'm sure this is quite a shock.
Hayley: No, it's more like a crock. My father may be a lot of things, but crazy he ain't, and neither am I. Tell me what the hell is going on. What have you done?

Tad: Eli, just keep the lid on things until I call you back, ok? So, how is he?
Dixie: Well, how do you think he is? He's upstairs. He's scared. He's confused. He doesn't understand why this happened.
Tad: Neither do I, Dixie. This was not part of the plan. The news wasn't supposed to have gotten out like this.
Dixie: What did you think? It was going to get out sometime. How did you think Junior would feel when he found out that his father's been committed to a mental institution?
Tad: That's what I'm trying to tell you, honey, ok? He wasn't supposed to be clubbed over the head with it. I was supposed to talk to him. I just didn't realize he was going to react this badly.
Dixie: He's a little boy. Adam is his father.
Tad: I know -- a father who scares him to death, a father he doesn't want to have anything to do with. Dixie: Is that why he wants
to spend more time with him now all of a sudden?
Tad: He does? Why?
Dixie: Because he -- the whole custody hearing. He feels guilty that he told a judge that Adam scared him. And so now he feels that he hurt Adam so badly, he caused the breakdown.
Tad: Oh, God. Honey, listen to me. I swear to you, I swear to you on my life, I never in a million years thought that Junior was going to blame himself.
Dixie: What did you think? How did you think Junior was going to react to this? I mean, did you for one minute consider the consequences of your actions?
Tad: Sure. I thought everybody was going to understand.
Dixie: You have to understand something, Tad. Junior is upstairs. He's scared. He's hurt. And Adam didn't do it to him this time. This time you did.

Alex: I don't see how anybody could come here and recover from anything, quite frankly. How long has she been in there?
Edmund: Over 15 minutes. That's it. I'm going in.
Dr. Griffith: Dr. Marick, my apologies.
Alex: How do you do?
Dr. Griffith: How do you do, Mr. Grey? Sorry for the wait. I was tied up with a lengthy phone consultation.
Alex: Oh, we quite understand. Thank you so much for seeing us.
Dr. Griffith: That'll be all, Margaret. You'll have to excuse Margaret. She's fiercely protective of my time.
Edmund: Yeah. So, you expected us? I mean, you received my e-mails?
Dr. Griffith: Yes, I have. But unfortunately my hands are tied. I don't have access to Dr. Marick's records. I'm afraid you've come a great distance for nothing.
Edmund: When you say you don't have access, doctor, what do you mean?
Dr. Griffith: I beg your pardon?
Edmund: Well, I happen to know that Dr. Marick's records were not sealed by the British government as you had led me to believe. So they must be available.
Dr. Griffith: I'm sorry, but we only began computerizing records five years ago.
Edmund: Ok. Well, prior to that. I mean, they must be somewhere -- in a box, in storage. I mean, you wouldn't just lose them or throw them away. That would be negligence.
Dr. Griffith: No, of course not. We have boxes and boxes of files in our records room. But they're in a horrible jumble. I couldn't begin to know where to look.
Edmund: Well, allow me to help you.
Dr. Griffith: We do follow protocol over here, Mr. Grey.
Edmund: I'm familiar with the concept. We have protocol in the United States. You know what else we have in common? The press. It just so happens that I happen to publish a magazine, investigative journal magazine with an international circulation. You may have heard of it. It's called "Tempo."
Dr. Griffith: I know the publication.
Edmund: You know, technology's an amazing thing, doc. I could just pick up this phone right now, I could call my office, and they could start an expose on a private sanatorium that is refusing to give a former patient medical records. Now, why would they do that? Could be lost. Could be a cover-up. Maybe a scandal. Now, scandal's good. That sells papers. You know what would happen? Your private little sanatorium would be overrun with photographers and reporters. Maybe even Scotland Yard. So, you see, doctor, that's how we do things where I'm from.
Dr. Griffith: Give me a few minutes. I'll see if I have someone available to check our records room. Now, please, have a seat.

Dr. Griffith: Our visitors are very persistent.
Guy: I told you Mr. Grey was becoming a problem.
Dr. Griffith: So he is. Ms. Devane seems to put a great deal of trust in him.
Guy: She's unstable. It would be best to terminate.
Dr. Griffith: Guy, you must learn patience. I agree she's a risk to us, but we can't override our superiors. They've ordered us to wait, so we wait. In the meantime, we must find a way to contain her.
Guy: What if we can't? She's getting closer. What if Dr. Marick finds out who she really is?

Erica: All right. Thank you. I don't believe it. David went to a medical convention -- out of town.
Paolo: These are delicious. You have to try these. They're surprisingly good. I wonder if the baker's French. Here.
Erica: Stop. Get that out of my face. Didn't you hear what I said? David went out of town without even telling me.
Paolo: He'll be back, right?
Erica: Well, that's not the point. He did this completely out of spite.
Paolo: Well, weren't you trying to spite him with me?
Erica: You're free to go now.
Paolo: I'm waiting for my Eggs Benedict. Listen, between you and me, this jealousy thing could backfire, you know? Ok, Erica, maybe you can't be left penniless, but you can be left.
Erica: You know, not that it's any of your business, but I tried to tell David the truth and he was -- he was very rude. He was very arrogant. In fact, this whole thing is really his fault.

Opal: Erica.
Erica: Opal.
Opal: Oh. Am I interrupting something?
Erica: No, no, not at all, really. How are you this morning?
Opal: Just dandy. And by the looks of things, so are you. I didn't catch your name.
Paolo: [Italian accent] Paolo. Paolo Decaro.
Opal: Decaro -- of Decaro leathers?
Paolo: Yes.
Erica: No.

Liza: You want the truth? Your father hasn't lost his mind.
Hayley: Then why is he in a mental institution?
Liza: Let's just say for the sake of argument that he's paying for what he's done -- to me, to the Martins, Stuart and my mother, and, yes, even you.
Hayley: I fight my own battles, thank you very much.
Liza: Well, you know what? My daughter can't.
Hayley: Oh. Well, now you're starting to sound like Adam -- justifying the unjustifiable out of love for your child.
Liza: Don't compare me to him.
Hayley: You're behaving like him!
Liza: We did what we had to do, Hayley.
Hayley: Oh, Liza, come on. Come on. How long do you think it'll take? Give the doctors a little credit. They will eventually realize that he's not insane. And what about Stuart? Stuart's going to find out. He's going to put a stop to it.

Marian: I'm going to have to find Stuart right now.
Liza: What are you going to tell him?
Marian: I'm going to tell him the truth, Liza, and I am never going to lie to him again. Never.

Liza: Hayley, please. We all know what Adam is capable of doing. I am stopping him from continuing to ruin our lives.
Hayley: Why? He got what he wanted. You both did.
Liza: What do you mean?
Hayley: Colby. Come on, Liza. Don't make Adam the only heavy. You lied to Jake, too, all through that custody hearing.
Liza: I had no choice.
Hayley: There are always choices, Liza. You just picked the wrong one. Now, what -- maybe you thought you wouldn't get pregnant or maybe you took a chance with Adam and then you got scared. I don't know.
Liza: My God. You don't know? I mean, I thought everybody knew.
Hayley: What?
Liza: I have always believed that Colby was Jake's daughter, but she's not. Adam switched the sperm samples.

Tad: Dixie, come on. You know that I would never do anything to hurt Junior. I love him like he's my own son. As a matter of fact, as far as I'm concerned, he is my son.
Dixie: I understand that, Tad, and Junior loves you like a father. But he also has another father, and that's Adam, who is now in a mental institution because of you. How do you think Junior's going to feel when he finds that out, what you did? Do you think that he is ever going to trust you again?
Tad: All right, fine. We'll just -- just have to explain it to him.
Dixie: "Explain it to him"?
Tad: What, you're not going to help me out on this one? What -- what do you want? Do you want to turn him against me? Is that what you're trying to do here?
Dixie: No, of course I'm not going to turn him against you. Of course. I just have no idea how we're going to explain it to him.
Tad: Well, for starters, we'll tell him the truth. We'll tell him that Adam got exactly what he deserved.
Dixie: Oh, now you're judge and jury.
Tad: No. I'm the casualty of war. And so are you. And so is Stuart and Marian and Skye and everybody else that he's ever met. God. You know, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if the boy had to learn that once in a while you got to get up and fight!
Dixie: I see. That's what you've learned, isn't it?
Tad: Haven't you? Don't you remember how you felt when Adam locked you in Oak Haven? Hmm? Or do you remember how you felt when -- when Junior ran away from home?
Dixie: I remember everything, Tad. I also remember the look on a little boy's face upstairs a few minutes ago.
Tad: Dixie, what was I supposed to do? Sit on my hands and wait for Adam to do it again? The man deserved it. He had to be taught a lesson.
Dixie: This is such a crock. This is not about some spiritual edification for Adam. This is about revenge. This is about you, you needing to win.
Tad: You know, I don't understand where this is coming from at all. After all of the stuff that bastard has ever done to us, how do you make me out to be the bad guy?
Dixie: Because I expect it from Adam, because I expect -- since -- terrible behavior from him. But from you, I expect you to be better than that. I expect you to choose us. I expect you to choose your family. But that's just -- you just couldn't do that, could you? No, it had to be "vengeance is mine, sayeth Tad Martin." To hell with the family. To hell with the consequences.
Tad: Stop --
Dixie: To hell with the little boy upstairs.
Tad: Stop! All right? I understand, I understand. I'll talk to him, ok? I'll straighten it out right now.
Dixie: No, no, no! Don't you go near my son!

Opal: And there's two things I can spot about a person right off the bat, and that's a bad dye job and cheap shoes. Well, obviously the hair is real, but the shoes -- not Decaro leathers.
Paolo: They weren't that cheap.
Opal: Well, good. Then you won't get bunions.
Paolo: Yes, well -- ladies, if you'll excuse me, I need to make a phone call.

Erica: Sure. Opal, sit down a minute.
Opal: Well, all right. Just for a minute. I mean, I don't want to be disturbing whatever it is you're up to with your latest hunk du jour.
Erica: He is not my hunk du anything, I assure you.
Opal: Hmm.
Erica: Look, I have to swear you to secrecy, ok?
Opal: May my perm rods be struck by lightning.
Erica: Paolo is for show.
Opal: Show? What? Oh, is he modeling for Enchantment?
Erica: No, no, no, no, no. He's to show David that I can get along just fine without him. He's that kind of a show. Just to rub David's face in it a little bit.
Opal: Well, is David here? I haven't seen him.
Erica: No, he's not here. No, he's not. He's out of town.
Opal: Well, then, I don't get it. What's the point?
Erica: Well, I miscalculated. David left town without even telling me.
Opal: Honey, what is going on here? I mean, did you and David break up?
Erica: We had a misunderstanding. And instead of David stepping up to his feelings and admitting that he was wrong, he acted like he didn't even care. He acted as if I was just some insignificant little fling.
Opal: Well, is it possible that you are? I mean, he doesn't exactly have a stellar record in the relationship department.
Erica: Opal, David loves me. He's told me that I'm really the only woman that he ever loved. What we have is very special, and we both know that. Oh, it's just his pride. It's his foolish pride. That's why I have to do this. I have to really shake him out of it.
Opal: Well, I mean, this Paolo guy is a hunk and all, but I don't really see him as any kind of a threat to David. I doubt David will, either. I mean, why haven't you just tried being honest with each other?
Erica: I tried. I tried to talk to David. But he was so angry, he wouldn't even listen. That's why I know this is the right thing to do. He wouldn't be so upset if he didn't care.
Opal: Well, are you comfortable with this Paolo guy? I mean, he's got quite a hungry look about him and you're a very wealthy woman.
Erica: He's manageable. Look, I made him swear that he would not have anything to do with any other extracurricular activities for the moment. Anyway, that reminds me -- Opal -- have you seen this? Do you recognize this -- this emerald?
Opal: Well, it looks real.
Erica: Sure does. I found it in Paolo's room. Obviously belongs to a woman. And I'm just betting, you know, from a piece of jewelry, something, maybe an earring?
Opal: Ooh, it's got the look of old money about it, doesn't it? Oh, girlfriend, we are going to have ourselves some fun tracking down that Cinderella, aren't we?

Paolo: Angel, I was just calling you.
Vanessa: Really? What are you doing with Erica Kane?
Paolo: Having breakfast. As soon as I'm finished, I will give you a call, we'll go upstairs, look for your emerald. But I really need to get back right now.
Vanessa: Don't you dare.

Winifred: Mr. Chandler, they let you out!
Stuart: They did? Who let me out of what?
Winifred: Oh. I'm sorry, Mr. Stuart. I -- I -- I thought that they had released Mr. Chandler
. Stuart: Released? Is Adam in jail again? Is he all right? Is he in trouble?
Winifred: No -- well, I mean, yes. But, no -- no, no, he's not in jail. He was taken to oak -- Oak Haven? It was -- I just saw it on television.
Stuart: Took him to Oak Haven? Why would they take him to Oak Haven?
Winifred: I'm sorry, Mr. Stuart. I thought you knew. The announcer said that your brother suffered from a mental breakdown last night, and they -- and they --
Stuart: Oh, no. No! No, Adam, no. No.

Tad: That's the way you want to play this? Huh? Is that what you think is right for your son? No, no, no, you just remember one thing, ok? Biology aside, he's my son, too. And I love him with all of my heart and soul.
Dixie: You were not thinking, Tad.
Tad: I know, I know. Because if I ever thought for one second that he would react like this, I never would have gone through with it all I ever wanted to do was keep Junior safe.
Dixie: Really? You're not trying to show Adam up?
Tad: No.
Dixie: You're not trying to make him look bad in Junior's eyes?
Tad: No! No! I may be jealous of Adam where Junior's concerned, but I'd never want to humiliate the boy or make him feel bad about being Adam's son.
Dixie: You're jealous of Adam?
Tad: Wasn't that obvious? That jerk gave you a child. I can't. We had our chance. We lost it. Our Bess. God only knows we're going to get another one. And you know something? The fact is, I'm a terrific father. And I love you. And you love me. How am I supposed to feel, knowing that no matter how badly we deserve to have a child without being completely freaked, we can't. No matter how badly I want to, I can't give you that happiness.
Dixie: I didn't know you felt that way.
Tad: I didn't either until Liza pointed it out.
Dixie: Liza? You talked to Liza about this? Something you couldn't even tell me?
Tad: Sweetheart, suddenly I was baring my soul. I don't even remember how it came up.
Dixie: I -- you have so many intimate conversations with her.
Tad: Oh, God, here we go. Sweetheart, Liza's not the issue here.
Dixie: Yes, she is.
Tad: No, she's not.
Dixie: When these sorts of things happen, who always gets something out of it, hmm? Liza.
Tad: No, we all do.
Dixie: No, your family pays.
Tad: Dixie --
Dixie: Your family always pays.
Tad: Honey, please --
Dixie: I'm going to go talk to Junior.
Tad: Wait. Wait.
Dixie: No!

Vanessa: I want to know what you were doing with Erica Kane since professing such love for me last night.
Paolo: Angel, it's a business association. I promise you. It's a real estate matter. And, frankly, I can't wait till it's over with because I've never known such vanity.
Vanessa: Paolo, you had better not be lying to me.
Paolo: Do you doubt my love for you? After breakfast, this afternoon, you come up to my room, and I will devote the entire afternoon to proving it, huh?
Vanessa: Look, I happen to be married to a very prominent man in this town. I have obligations, so -- let's just consider last night good-bye.
Paolo: You're trying to torment me. Well, you know what? It's not going to work. There's too much fire between us. I'll be upstairs if you change your mind, waiting for you.

Opal: Well, if you'll excuse me.
Erica: All right.
Opal: Was a pleasure meeting you.
Paolo: My pleasure.

Erica: Don't sit yet. I'm done here.
Paolo: I haven't had my breakfast yet.
Erica: You can eat the eggs when I'm gone. I have another assignment for you.
Paolo: Ok.
Erica: Enchantment is co-sponsoring this great big gala benefit. I'm doing it with "Wave," and it's in support of teens against addiction. David will definitely be there. You will be my escort.
Paolo: Ah, but I didn't bring my tux with me.
Erica: Oh, imagine that. Don't worry. I'll make sure that you have everything you need to look presentable. Because anyone who appears on the arm of Erica Kane will look as if he belongs there.
Paolo: Thank you.

Guy: They're losing Alexandra Marick. Why won't they listen?
Dr. Griffith: They are. They want us to follow orders. Calm down and remain patient. This is not our case.
Guy: What are you going to do?
Dr. Griffith: I'll stall until I can report back and get instructions. Sit tight.

Dr. Griffith: I had a clerk check our records room. It seems Dr. Marick's file is among those moved to an off-site storage facility.
Alex: Oh, good.
Edmund: Well, that's great. Just give us the address, and we'll check it out ourselves.
Dr. Griffith: It's a warehouse facility, and there's no way I can give you access. But I will arrange for someone to drive out and look for your file. So, how long do you plan to remain in Wales?
Alex: As long as it takes. Dr. Griffith: I see. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Alex: When should we contact you again?
Dr. Griffith: Check back next week. Good day.

Alex: Well, that's a start, I guess.
Edmund: Mm-hmm. But he got rid of us a little too easy, don't you think?
Alex: Yeah.
Edmund: Yeah.
Alex: I agree. I told you my mother has a cottage right near here in the countryside. Just across the border near Bristol. So, we could go there.
Edmund: Ok, let's go. You all right?
Alex: Yeah. I keep thinking about that image of the little girl, Robin.
Edmund: Well, listen, maybe your mother can help you remember more.
Alex: Maybe.

Liza: I really thought that I was doing what was best for Colby, and I always wanted Jake to be her father.
Hayley: I can't believe that Adam let me get up on that stand and defend him. He never bothered to tell me how he became Colby's father. He used me again. You both used me again, actually. Why don't you just divorce him?
Liza: I couldn't. And now it doesn't really fit into my plans for him.
Hayley: Why would you have plans for him at all? I don't understand this. Everything's out in the open. You are free to just cut your losses and run. Why don't you leave Pine Valley, take Colby, and go? Why are you even here? This death grip you have on my father -- just let it go.
Liza: I can't. Don't you understand that?
Hayley: I think I do understand. You're either a fool or you're still in love with him.

Tad: What do you mean, you didn't see Liza this morning?
Winifred: She left - it was early, sir. I didn't --

Stuart: Oh -- oh, Tad. Good, good. I need your help. I can't find Liza and Marian isn't home --
Tad: Stuart, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Slow down.
Stuart: No, I can't. I can't. Adam's in trouble. They got him at that mental hospital.
Tad: I know.
Stuart: I don't know how Liza ever let -- let that happen, but -- but -- that's terrible. I can't find her. Maybe she's there right now. She's maybe there trying to get him out. So you're going to help us, ok? Because that's -- that's really a terrible place. It's terrible. I know. I was there once.
Tad: Stuart, I know. I realize that. Adam put you there, remember?
Stuart: Well -- well, yeah, but that was ages ago. He's been doing very well lately. He's -- he wouldn't have a mental breakdown now. It's got to be a mistake. We got to get him out.
Tad: I can't do that, Stuart, because I'm one of the people that put him there.

Alex: So hopefully you'll be there when we arrive, ok? Lots of love. Bye.

Edmund: Did you reach your mother?
Alex: No, I left a message for her on the answering machine.
Edmund: Ok.
Alex: That woman keeps staring at me.
Edmund: Do you recognize her?
Alex: No. But she might recognize me. I'm awfully sorry, but I couldn't help notice you were staring at me. Do you know me?
Woman: Oh, sorry, Mum.
Alex: No, I mean, it is possible that we met before because I was once a patient here. Oh, ok. I beg your pardon.

Woman: Good-bye, Anna.

Liza: I am not in love with Adam. I loathe what he's done and I loathe him. I'm not divorcing him because I can keep him in line better this way. I am his wife, and I have his power of attorney.
Hayley: There's more things in life than extracting revenge, Liza. Is that the example you're trying to set for your daughter?
Liza: You know, I'm doing this because of my daughter.
Hayley: I am so sick of hearing that, you have no idea. This whole thing -- keeping Colby away from Adam -- is to punish him, am I right?
Liza: That's not true.
Hayley: That is exactly true. You, yourself, are always saying how much Adam loves his children. You know he would never do anything to jeopardize Colby. You've got this vendetta thing with him, making him pay. But you know who's going to pay in the long run? Colby. Who knows what scars that child already has.
Liza: You know, don't say that.
Hayley: Then move forward. Drop this whole vendetta thing. Move forward with your life. Move on to something that matters. Because I know what it's like to live in my mother's selfish agenda. I didn't know my father for years. Colby has a right to know who her dad is, whether you like him or not. You and Adam both need to grow up for your child's sake.
Liza: So you're just telling me that I should forget everything that he's done?
Hayley: What's done is done. Move on. Move on to something good. Be a woman your daughter can be proud of, Liza. Somebody you can be proud of. Or not. Or not. Play this sick game of yours if that's what you really want.

Junior: Why can't we go to Oak Haven now?
Dixie: Honey, I called. Your dad can't have any visitors yet.
Junior: Then we'll sneak in.
Dixie: Honey, I know how hard this is on you, ok? But your dad is going to be all right. You have to believe me.
Junior: Mom, they said on the television upstairs that Tad and Liza were there when they took dad away. Why didn't they stop it? Why didn't Tad do something?

Stuart: You put Adam into Oak Haven?
Tad: I'm sorry, Stuart.
Stuart: But you know he's not crazy. How could you be part of that, Tad?
Tad: Because he got what he deserved. Stuart, just think of it as a temporary time-out.
Stuart: No, no, no. Don't talk down to me. You don't know what it's like in there. You had no right to do that to him. You know that.
Tad: Why are you mad at me? Listen, Adam has done more dirt to you than I ever could.
Stuart: Adam loves me.
Tad: Is that what you call it? He tried to destroy your marriage. He paid off Paolo to seduce Marian.
Stuart: No, he did not.
Tad: Yes, he did, Stuart.
Stuart: He did not.
Tad: Yes, he did.
Stuart: He looked right at me and promised he didn't do that.
Tad: Then he's a damn liar! Leo Du Pres confessed to the entire thing. Liza's got it on tape. I saw it. It's probably still in there. Well, go ahead. See for yourself.

[Stuart watches tape]

Leo: Adam gave me orders. I found Paolo and hired him to seduce your mother. But I swear to you that I didn't know he was going to drug her. I'm just thankful that nothing else happened.

On the next "All My Children"

Becca: If you're in trouble, I'll help you. Let me.

Stuart: Tell me the truth, or I'll die.

Edmund: Alex! Alex, look out!

[Alex screams]
[Tires squeal]
