ALL MY CHILDREN

APRIL 19, 2000

[Knock on door]

Erica: I certainly hope you know how to behave at a formal affair. But just in case --
Paolo: Excuse me?
Erica: You are never to speak unless spoken to. And when spoken to, you are to feign ignorance -- unless you can contain your response to one simple little sentence, something like "How fascinating. Tell me more."
Paolo: Oh, just --
Erica: So did you order the appropriate tuxedo? Black, narrow lapels, a hand-tied bow tie? Oh, by the way, I ordered you a simple white boutonniere. That will be delivered within the hour.
Paolo: Erica --
Erica: And here are your fundraising tickets. Now, show me the tuxedo.

[Telephone rings]

Erica: Let it ring. I want to see what you're wearing.
Paolo: Will you relax please?
Erica: No.

Paolo: Hello.
Vanessa: Ooh. Why so grumpy, darling. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me, huh?
Paolo: What?
Vanessa: Darling, you are in a hateful mood. Probably because you miss me, right, lover? Suppose I solve that and come to you right now.
Paolo: I'm working.

Erica: Paolo --

Paolo: Yeah, it's business.
Vanessa: In your room? With whom?
Paolo: Look, I'll talk to you later. Yep.

Paolo: Do you think you own me?
Erica: Absolutely, yes.
Paolo: Who the hell --
Erica: We have an agreement. You are to behave like my loyal, faithful suitor until the end of this evening. Now, after that, I don't care. You can leave town. That'd be a great idea, as a matter of fact. Then you can take all the mysterious phone calls you want from whomever you want. But until then --
Paolo: Until then, what? You're going to make my life torture?
Erica: Oh, no.
Paolo: What?
Erica: Are you kidding? A purple cummerbund? Where do you think we're going, Paolo? A karaoke bar? Listen to me. This is important. You have to look like someone I could actually be interested in.
Paolo: Ok. Just leave, Erica. Just leave, please. I have your instructions. I don't need to be insulted.
Erica: You have my instructions and you have my money. And don't forget that.
Paolo: All right, you know what? Find somebody else to make you look good tonight. I don't need this.
Erica: You will do this, or I will blow the whistle on your real estate scam. Now, you put your ego away for five minutes, ok? You just need a little more work than I thought. I'm waiting, Paolo. Let me see the tuxedo.

Leo: Come on. Die, you good-for-nothing alien. That's right, that's right. Who's your daddy?
Becca: These tapes are for Liza. Leo?
Leo: Leave her a message. I'm not her errand boy.
Becca: What's your problem?
Leo: Oh, I'm sorry. You talking to me? I thought that we were history.
Becca: Don't be such a jerk.
Leo: Ok, now I'm confused. I was a jerk for falling all over you, and now I'm a jerk because I'm ignoring you, right? Tell me, Becca, which jerk would you rather I be today?
Becca: That's not fair.
Leo: No, I'll tell you what's not fair. You and every other woman I've ever known, you're all the same. No, wait, I'm wrong. You're worse.
Becca: What?
Leo: You heard me. You're worse because you're a total hypocrite.

Tad: Hey.
Dixie: Hey. Did you find Stuart? He never came home last night?
Tad: No. I drove around till daybreak. I looked everywhere, Dixie.
Dixie: Well, it just doesn't make sense. Stuart can't have just disappeared.

Liza: Well, I checked with the police again. They haven't found anything. They said we still have to wait the 24 hours to file the missing person report.
Scott: I just checked the cabin. He hasn't been there. How's Marian?
Liza: Oh, she hasn't closed her eyes. I told her to take a shower and then we would talk about the plan for the day. Are you ok? I know it's hard, but try not to think the worst.
Scott: Where could my dad be, Liza?

[Door closes]

Scott: Hey, Marian.
Marian: Oh. Hello, Scott.
Scott: Hi. You must be tired.
Marian: Oh, no, no, I'm fine.
Scott: Liza said you never slept.
Marian: Well, I'm fine. All right?
Liza: Mother, maybe if you lie down.
Marian: I don't want to lie down, Liza.
Liza: Well, if you get some rest, then you're not going to be sick. And if anything happened --
Marian: Nothing has happened to Stuart. Do you understand me? Nothing. And, besides, I know where he is.
Scott: What?
Marian: Yes, he's -- he's at the cabin. So why don't we all just get in the car and go up and bring him home.

Adrian: Come on,
Hayley, I'm making Otto rich over here.
Hayley: I can't.
Adrian: What are you talking about? Sure you can.
Hayley: Adrian, look, I appreciate what you're trying to do and everything, but I can't sit here and play basketball while my mother's in the shelter, sleeping off some bender. I mean, look at what she did here.
Adrian I know, but, hey, look, you said that you wanted to be here when she woke up. Mateo definitely doesn't want you to be here alone.
Hayley: Somebody she managed to con into renting her a car. She got the car. She got drunk. She got behind the wheel, slammed into a telephone pole, slammed into the building. It doesn't get much more pathetic than that, does it?
Adrian: Well, if someone had been hurt, yeah. Listen, I think Mateo was right. Maybe you should keep your distance.
Hayley: I keep rehashing this all in my mind, you know, and who am I kidding? You know, when I was a kid, my mother's drinking used to make me feel so helpless, and she's doing it to me again. She is managing to make me feel helpless again. You know, she -- she deliberately left Janet's place without telling anyone. She ran away because I rejected her. You know that. And then she got drunk and got a car and drove back here to crash it? That's to make me feel responsible. That's for me to feel like it's my fault.
Adrian: And it's working, right?
Hayley: Yeah.

Janet: Hayley. Hayley, Brooke called me this morning and she told me what happened. Arlene really hit a pole and it came crashing through the window?
Adrian: Yeah. It's a miracle she didn't kill someone.
Janet: Well, where is she now?
Adrian: She's in the shelter, sleeping it off.
Janet: Well, are you going to try to get her into rehab or something?
Hayley: Who, me?
Janet: Well, she's your mother. I --
Hayley: I'm -- listen to me. I am finished with her. I wash my hands of her. She can drag herself down, but she's not going to drag me down with her. If I put her in front of my sobriety, then I lose. That's it. I'm sorry, but that's it.

Brooke: Hi. I just checked on Arlene. She's still sleeping.
Janet: Did you get a chance to talk to her last night before she went to sleep? Did she tell you what happened?
Brooke: She tried to tell me. I just -- I didn't want to hear it. I smelled alcohol on her breath, and I didn't let her get in two words in a row. I just -- I just was furious. I -- I exploded.
Hayley: Brooke, really, what do you think she was going to tell you that was so unique? She was going to lie. She was going to make up a story and lie. And it doesn't matter anyway because she got drunk, she got behind the wheel of a car, and she nearly killed you and everybody else that was in this place.
Brooke: No, Hayley, I don't think that was it. I really don't. I -- you know, I didn't want her to talk last night. I don't think your mother was making up a story, all right? She was frantically trying to tell me. I wouldn't let her get it out. I'm calmer now. I think what she was saying, it had nothing to do with the fact that she ran into that pole outside.
Hayley: Trust me on this one, Brooke. My mother hasn't told the truth since Nixon was in office, ok? I mean, this at least has to solidify the facts for you, Janet.
Janet: Well, I --
Hayley: Janet, look at me. You can't let Arlene around Amanda ever again.

Becca: How can you call me a hypocrite?
Leo: Because that's what you are. A hypocrite is somebody who pretends to be something they're not.
Becca: I don't pretend with you, Leo.
Leo: No? A hypocrite, Becca, is somebody who pretends to be your friend, who keeps a confidence, then blows it like the weather report.
Becca: Stop speaking in code. What are you talking about?
Leo: Aren't you the girl that promised not to tell anybody about my problems? Ah, good. I'm ringing a bell. And who's the first person that you went and blabbed your mouth to, Becca? Your boyfriend.
Becca: No, it didn't happen like that.
Leo: Did you or did you not tell Scott that I had problems that you're helping me with?
Becca: I -- I had to tell him why I was spending so much time with you.
Leo: Did you or did you not promise to keep that between us?
Becca: I didn't tell him that I was tutoring you in math, Leo.
Leo: Oh, you're saving that for the next time he doubted you? Is that it?
Becca: He thought that you and I were -- you know. And we're not, you know? Who's the hypocrite here, huh? You're the one that told him all the stories and lied to him, saying that you and I were messing around just to make him mad.
Leo: Bottom line -- you didn't have to tell him anything, and you did.
Becca: I just said --
Leo: No, what you said was that you betrayed my confidence. End of story.
Becca: No, what I said was that I was helping you.
Leo: With what, my problems?
Becca: Yes. And that's all I said.
Leo: No. You chose protecting that -- that boring sack of dirt's little male ego --
Becca: Stop it.
Leo: Over keeping my secrets secret.
Becca: Stop being such an idiot! You don't realize what I was doing and who I was doing it for?
Leo: What, me? Please.
Becca: Yes, you! Listen to me. When are you going to get that?

Scott: Um, we don't have to drive up to the cabin, Marian.
Marian: Oh, well, then I'll just -- I'll go alone.
Liza: No, no, Mother, it's just that Scott --
Marian: Scott thinks this may be a waste of time, but, Scott, I know your father, and I'm sure he's at the cabin.
Scott: I was already at the cabin. I took both roads in to the lake, and it's early in the season. Nobody's been up there for months. There was still snow on the ground, and my tracks were fresh.
Marian: Well, I think we should check again.
Liza: Mother, Stuart didn't go to the cabin.
Marian: How do you know that, Liza? You know, maybe his car broke down. You know there are no phones up there, so -- so maybe he decided to sleep in his car and wait till daylight to go get help.
Liza: You know, if Stuart had car trouble or if he had an accident --
Marian: No, don't say that, Liza. Don't even think that because I know that Stuart's ok. I know it in my heart. And there's some reason that he's just been out of touch, that's all. And you'll see. You'll all see.
Scott: Ok. Listen, I thought I'd scan a recent photo of Dad into my computer, make up some fliers to hand out to people and post. Maybe somebody's seem him around and remembers him.
Liza: I think that's a terrific idea.
Scott: Ok. Call me if you need anything.
Liza: Yes.

[Telephone rings]

Liza: Hello? Speaking. It is. No, thank you so much. I really appreciate you calling me. Yes. Good-bye. I called the head of security at Oak Haven last night.
Marian: Oh, and?
Liza: They found Stuart's car in the parking lot.
Marian: Oh. Oh, thank God, Liza. He came back.
Liza: No, mother, he didn't come back. He never left. The parking sticker in his window is dated yesterday. So wherever he is, he went there on foot.

Dixie: You know, honey, I think it's a little premature for us to be worrying like this. Stuart's only been gone overnight.
Tad: Yeah, but he never would've taken off without leaving a message for Marian one way or the other unless something were really wrong. This is all my fault.
Dixie: Honey, I don't think it's going to do any good if you blame yourself about this.
Tad: Well, it's the truth, isn't it? I mean, I set this whole thing in motion. If I hadn't showed him the tape, he wouldn't know anything about Leo's confession. I just let myself get too frustrated with Stuart for defending Adam. If I'd left it alone, he'd be at home right now with Marian.
Dixie: If you'd left it alone, Stuart would've found out some other way, ok? This was going to come out sooner or later. We both know that.
Tad: Maybe. Still, I was the one that chose to show him that tape, you know. You should've seen his face, Dixie. He just -- the way he looked at me -- he just looked so broken. Because of me.
Dixie: You -- you know, if -- we don't know what Adam said to Stuart. If Stuart is upset, it's because of Adam, not you. I think you know this.
Tad: I'm not so sure. So what am I going to do if something's happened to Stuart? What am I going to do, Dixie?
Tad: Wait a minute. What's wrong with this picture? Why are you being so nice to me?
Dixie: Well, maybe because you seem to be beating up on yourself enough
for the both of us. Tad: Well, I thought I was a dead man there for a while.
Dixie: Over this?
Tad: Honey, you were pretty mad at me.
Dixie: Well, I'm -- yeah, I'm mad at you. I don't like what you did, but it's done, so why don't we just, you know, focus on how we're going to handle it.
Tad: Speaking of "we," how is Junior this morning?
Dixie: He's acting brave. He went to school. I'm sure the other kids are going to help him f
eel better about himself. Tad: I'll have a talk with him when he comes home.
Dixie: Speaking of which - did you tell him that you were going to help his father? You better have meant that, Tad.
Tad: Yeah, I promised him I would do whatever was right for Adam.
Dixie: You'd better be really, really clear with him what you mean by that.
Tad: Yeah. If it was up to me, what's right for Adam would be a month or two at Oak Haven, but -- no, I meant what I said. I'm going to make this right for Junior -- and Stuart -- if I can just find him. I don't know what to do. I mean, there must have been somebody that saw him after he left Oak Haven last night.

Adrian: Here.
Brooke: Thanks. Last night you know what I did? I went home, and I started looking at some old baby pictures of Jamie. When I saw Arlene last night, it made me remember the last time she was drunk and she was driving. She ran into Jackson's car.
Adrian: Wait a minute. Arlene's done this before?
Brooke: Yeah. I was in the car with Jackson at the time. I was pregnant. And I went into premature labor. I almost lost Jamie. I mean, as it was, he was a month early.
Adrian: Wow. You two have some history.
Brooke: I couldn't stop thinking about it. And I couldn't stop thinking about the drunk driver that killed my little girl Laura. She was crossing the street. And it didn't have to happen. You know, it was a long time ago, and I feel like I've worked very hard to accept and forgive, you know? And then all of a sudden I feel like maybe I didn't deal with it because when Arlene came in last night, I just -- I couldn't help myself. I just -- I -- the -- I couldn't help screaming at her. I wanted to hurt her. I wanted to hit her with my fists. And I know that there has to be a better way to deal with this anger. And I never -- I never want my son Jamie to see me like that ever.
Adrian: Look, Brooke, you got angry for a reason. Arlene is a very dangerous woman. You don't have to be around her long to sense that. I know Mateo and Hayley want her gone for good. And I got to be honest with you -- I'm with them on this.

Hayley: Look, Janet, I feel bad for her, too. I do. But you cannot -- you can't have her around Amanda in your home. You can't. Uncle Trevor would never stand for it, especially now that she's drinking again.
Janet: I'm not comfortable with this, either, but what am I supposed to do? Trevor's not here, is he? And Amanda's the one who's paying the price. Arlene's the only one she'll open up to. Knowing that, how can I not let her move back in with us? She doesn't deserve to have to deal with any more abandonment issues.
Hayley: Did you bring her with you here?
Janet: Of course not. She's at school.
Hayley: Not anymore. Have a look.
Janet: Amanda. How did you get here?
Amanda: I walked.
Janet: What are you doing here? Did you just leave in the middle of school?
Amanda: Is aunt Arlene still here?
Janet: You can't do that without permission.
Amanda: Mommy, is Aunt Arlene still here?
Janet: My God. How do you know about that?
Amanda: You were talking on the phone to Brooke, and I heard you say you were coming over here. We have to bring Aunt Arlene home with us now.

Erica: All right. In addition to the cummerbund, an imported silk tie is coming, and I've arranged with the concierge to tie it on you.
Paolo: Do I look like a 4-year-old to you, Erica?
Erica: You act like one. Now listen to me. David Hayward may try to take you on.
Paolo: I can handle him.
Erica: He will try to take you on verbally, and you will lose, Paolo. So you are to remain cordial and you are not to react to anything provocative he might say or do. Anything. Is that clear?
Paolo: I don't need behavior lessons.
Erica: I think you do, which is exactly why I want you glued to my side at all times. And I want you to do what I say. I am, after all, paying you. And as far as David is concerned, I really would like him to see us nuzzling and dancing from across the room. Oh, no.
Paolo: Oh, now what?
Erica: You can dance, can't you? I mean, like a gentleman?
Paolo: Would you like me to show you?
Erica: No. Just show up on time at the fundraiser, have your hair styled, wear no aftershave whatsoever, and shine your shoes, ok?
Paolo: Just go.
Erica: Just do as I say, and we will never have to lay eyes on each other again as long as we live.
Paolo: Thank God.
Erica: What?
Paolo: Good-bye, Erica.
Erica: Yeah, good-bye. And remember what I said. Paolo: How could I possibly forget?

[Erica gasps]

Erica: Just go with me on this, ok?
Paolo: Go with you on --

Vanessa: Well, it's so nice to see you, too. Ciao.

Erica: Oh, Paolo. Ooh, I can't wait to be alone with you tonight.

[Erica gasps]

Erica: Vanessa. How long have you been standing there and -- well -- fine. Fine. I shouldn't care. Go ahead. Go along to David and just tell him everything you want to. I won't try and stop you.

Paolo: Vanessa.
Paolo: Vanessa, I can explain.

Liza: Well, I just checked in again with Joe Martin. He hasn't heard anything, but he's going to alert everybody at the hospital and the other hospitals. He's going to get the word out, unofficially.
Marian: Liza, look at these beautiful paintbrushes. And the box they came in -- it's hand-carved. I ordered it for Stuart for our anniversary present. Do you think he's going to like it?
Liza: Oh, I know he will.
Marian: They're made out of goat's hair. I was going to ask him to paint our ceilings, you know, like Michelangelo painted the Sistine chapel. I know it won't make much sense to you, but it would make perfect sense to Stuart.
Liza: I feel like I should talk to you about something.
Marian: Liza, you want to talk to me about things I don't want to talk about. About accidents and hospitals. You see, I have to be strong and hopeful because that's how Stuart would be, and I owe him that, so please don't start nagging at me just yet.
Liza: I want you to be hopeful. I do.
Marian: Well, good. Then don't come to me with the "Mother, you better get a grip on yourself" speech because I don't want to hear it.
Liza: Just want you to prepare yourself, Mother. Just -- just --
Marian: Prepare myself for what? For losing Stuart? For -- for losing the only man who ever loved and understood me?
Liza: Oh, Mother, don't.
Marian: No, no, Liza, you don't. You don't tell me how to -- how to act or what to say or what to feel. I will not deal with Stuart's disappearance with dread in my heart. You understand me? Because I believe in him. And you know why I believe in him? Because he believed in me. When I thought I'd betrayed him with that horrible man, Paolo, I had no faith left in myself, Liza. But Stuart had faith in me. I mean, he just disregarded all the evidence, and he looked into my heart, and he knew I hadn't been unfaithful to him. So that's -- that's love. And that's faith. And I owe Stuart 10 lifetimes of that. And even then, it wouldn't be enough. It just wouldn't be enough.

Amanda: Well?
Janet: Sweetheart, your Aunt Arlene is ok, but we can't bring her home right now.
Brooke: Listen, she's asleep, ok? And when she wakes up, she needs to -- we have to ask her some questions.
Amanda: I don't care. Mommy, Aunt Arlene has to come home with us. She has nowhere else to go. I want to see her. I want to see her.
Janet: This is not a good time.
Adrian: Janet, listen, why don't I drive Amanda back to school, huh? I got to get back to the S.O.S. Anyway.
Janet: I'd really appreciate that. Thank you.
Adrian: Sure.
Janet: We'll talk about this later tonight.
Janet: What is it, Amanda?
Amanda: Tell Aunt Arlene I love her and I missed her a lot.

Hayley: I swear, watching this is, like, total deja vu.
Janet: Amanda's in really bad shape.
Hayley: And Arlene is just getting warm up, you know. It wasn't enough for her to ruin my life. She came back to trash the next generation.
Janet: Well, what am I supposed to do? Amanda won't open up to me. She won't open up to you. It's Arlene and Arlene only. Damn it, I wish Trevor were here. And where else is Arlene going to go?
Hayley: Don't know, and I don't care, and neither should you. Because if you give Arlene a roof over her head again, you run a really great risk of putting your child in danger. Now, think about that and let someone else enable Arlene because someone always does.

Brooke: Scott, did you check accident reports with the police and local hospitals?
Scott: Yeah, yeah. Apparently it was a pretty calm night last night except for what -- what happened here last night. I'm going to head over to the shelter and see if maybe anybody remembers seeing him over there.
Brooke: Ok.
Scott: If you could just -- could just maybe spread some of these around over here.
Brooke: Yes, yes.
Scott: Thanks.
Hayley: Uncle Stuart hasn't turned up yet?
Scott: No.
Hayley: I thought for sure he would.
Scott: Yeah, well, that's what we were hoping, too.
Hayley: Oh, Scott, if you -- if you need me to do anything at all, just ask. Anything.
Scott: You could -- you could pray for him.
Brooke: You know, I know this is off-the-wall, but when Arlene said last night that she'd done it again, you think maybe she was talking about the fact that maybe she had an accident on the road? She hit another driver?
Hayley: Anything's possible, considering how plastered she was.
Brooke: Well, unfortunately, she passed out before she gave us any useful information, so --
Hayley: Yeah, well, that's typical.
Janet: So what are you saying?
Brooke: I don't know. I don't want to think what I'm saying, let alone say it out loud.
Hayley: Well, just say it, Brooke.
Brooke: My God, what if she hit Stuart?

Becca: Look, Leo, I am not going to do this with you. I did not betray you, so stop the melodrama.
Leo: We had a deal.
Becca: And I kept my end of the deal. I did not tell Scott that I was tutoring you or that you had problems in math or anything like that. I told him you had a rough past and that I was being a friend. Did your mother teach you not to trust anyone with anything?
Leo: No, you leave my mother the hell out of this.
Becca: You're the one that said that she was a horrible parent and dragged you around from boyfriend to boyfriend, living out of a designer suitcase.
Leo: You don't have to badmouth my mother, all right, Becca?
Becca: Me? You're the one that said that she messed you up, and now you're defending her? Which way is it going to go, Leo?

Vanessa: I mean, honestly, what do you take me for? Didn't you think I would find out about this? You really don't have any idea who the devil you're dealing with.
Paolo: Yes, yes, I do, which is why, if you'd just be quiet for three seconds, I would explain.
Vanessa: Explain kissing Erica Kane?
Paolo: I'm working for her. She's paying me to escort her to this fundraiser tonight. It's an act, Vanessa, and she's paying my bills.
Vanessa: And that's why you were kissing Erica now?
Paolo: It's all part of her ridiculous plan to make your son jealous. Are you paying any attention? My God, Vanessa, don't you know -- don't you know me better than this by now?
Vanessa: All I know is what I saw in that doorway, Paolo. You were kissing her. And it certainly didn't look like it to me that you were just going to wade in the audience.
Paolo: She saw you coming down the hall, Vanessa. Use your head.

[Knock on door]

Paolo: What is this? Bellhop: From Ms. Kane, sir. Now, do you need some help with the tie, sir?
Paolo: No, I'm fine.

Paolo: Do you honestly think I would let a woman like Erica Kane dress me if I wasn't being paid for my trouble?
Vanessa: Hideously boring, that cummerbund. And the flower -- the flower! Oh, my God. Can't you see -- well --
Paolo: You are the only special woman see, Vanessa. You should know that by now.

Leo: I told you things that I'd never told anyone else before.
Becca: I know, and I didn't tell anyone. I promise. That's what I'm trying to say.
Leo: What, by going after my mother?
Becca: You told me she wrecked you.
Leo: You know what? None of this matters anyway.
Becca: Leo --
Leo: No, I got a guy on my tail who I'm into for $30,000.
Becca: I know.
Leo: This is the last thing I should be thinking about. Becca: Leo, is -- what are
you going to do about it?
Leo: I'm going to stall him.
Becca: I want to help you.
Leo: Too late.

Becca: Hi.
Scott: Hi.
Becca: Look, Scott, you do not have to be mad about anything. I ran into --
Scott: I could care less about Leo Du Pres this morning. My father missing.

Tad: Did Arlene say she hit someone with a car?
Brooke: She was just very messed up, and I think it was about more than hitting the telephone pole outside.
Dixie: It couldn't be, could it?
Hayley: I swear, if she did anything to Uncle Stuart, I'm going to rip her --
Tad: No, no, no. Not yet --
Hayley: No, I'm just -- let me at her. Let me just go in there and wake her up.
Tad: No, no, wait.
Hayley: Please.

Arlene: I woke up this morning thinking today could only get better. Well, never overestimate.
Brooke: Arlene, before you passed out last night, you said you did something. What was it?
Hayley: Spit it out. And don't even think about lying, you no-good drunk.

Becca: Scott, I am -- I'm so sorry. God.
Scott: You know, if I thought my dad could handle someone who -- who might be dangerous, I mean -- what if he wandered off and got picked up by someone and -- and --
Becca: No, no. You can't -- don't torture yourself with that. Don't even think about that, all right? You know, we are going to call every TV station, every radio station. We're going to post these fliers. We are going to find him.
Scott: "We"?
Becca: Yes. You didn't think I'd let you do this alone, did you?
Scott: Well, you -- you seemed pretty angry at me last time we -
Becca: None of that matters now. We're going to find your dad, Scott. Everything else can wait, ok? Ok? It's going to be ok. We'll find him. Promise.

Arlene: I have no idea what any of you are talking about.
Brooke: It's after the little incident where you crashed into the telephone pole outside.
Arlene: I what?
Hayley: Oh, perfect!
Janet: What?
Hayley: She's blacked out.
Arlene: Look, all I know is that my head feels like it's going to spontaneously combust, and I woke up in a cot in a room full of women that haven't seen the inside of a tub in I don't know how long.
Tad: Did you see Stuart Chandler last night?
Arlene: Honey, I could've seen God last night and I wouldn't remember. What's this about -- what's this about an accident?
Hayley: Mateo was right. I'm out of here.

Arlene: What was she doing here, anyway? Hey, Janet? Do you think I could go over to your place and grab a shower?
Janet: Not after what's happened, Arlene. You can't live with us anymore. I can't have you around Amanda if you're drinking like this.
Arlene: Yeah, but one bad night doesn't mean that I'm back drinking again. You got to understand --
Brooke: Arlene, what happened last night?
Arlene: I -- I guess I had a few drinks. I -- I don't know.
Tad: Forget about it, Brooke. It's worthless. Come on.
Dixie: Can we give you a ride?
Janet: Thanks.
Arlene: Janet?
Brooke: You serious about wanting that shower?
Arlene: Yeah.
Brooke: That's good. Because you're coming with me.
Arlene: Where to?
Brooke: You're coming to my house, and you're not going to leave until you tell me everything that happened to you last night.

Liza: You going to be ok if I go out just for a little while?
Marian: Yeah, I'll be fine. But would you go to Oak Haven and talk to Adam, see if he's heard from Stuart? Please? And call me right away.
Liza: Ok. I will.
Marian: Thank you, Liza.
Marian: Stuart, you're my life. I can't even breathe without you. So please come back to me. Please.

Paolo: Oh, Vanessa.

Esther: Stuart, wake up. It's me, Esther.

Adam: Liza. Hello.
Liza: What have you done to my husband?
