ALL MY CHILDREN

APRIL 24, 2000

Scott: So you haven't seen my father, then?
Esther: Stuart?
Scott: Yeah.
Esther: Um -- why would you and your friend look for Stuart in my little trailer?
Scott: Well, I know that the two of you were very good friends.
Esther: Yeah. Yeah. One day me and Stuart were together, and the next we weren't. And I know why, too. Her name is Marian. Those two still an item?
Scott: Yeah. Yeah, they are. But I knew that since the two of you were so close before, I thought that perhaps he might come to you.
Esther: Why would he? I mean, why would he have to?
Scott: You remember Adam, my Uncle Adam?
Esther: Sure, I do. The mean one.
Scott: Yeah, well, he did something pretty mean to my father, and he wandered off upset. That was yesterday, and we haven't seen him since.

[Stuart moans]

Becca: What's that?

Opal: Honey, come on. Come on. Let me take --

Donald: Erica Kane's gala on behalf of teens against addiction was pretty much of a bust. Most of Pine Valley left in disgust when their hostess, La Kane, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Liquid? Powder? Yet to be determined.
Oh, young lady? Could you tell "The Exposer," how did you feel when you saw the famous ms. Kane obviously drunk or worse? How did you feel?
Greenlee: Get away from me, little man, or I'll squash you like a bug.
Donald: Yeah, I can respect that. Who. Except for the "little man" part, I found that really stimulating.

Tina: Oh, it looks like we missed it. It's all my fault. It was just a bad idea.
Adrian: Hey, come on. Are you kidding? Going past the shelter so the kids could see you in your new dress? Come on. It doesn't get any better than that.
Tina: It turns out they were more interested in looking at you.
Adrian: Well -- and you say that's a bad idea? Come on. Our party's just beginning.

Ryan: Come on, Gillian. Let's just -- let's just leave.

Tad: You know, you haven't lost your chops.
Liza: My chops?
Tad: Yeah, chops -- style, moves, you know, the way you're handling yourself, taking care of business at Chandler Enterprises, and the way you played those board members. That was pretty impressive. Vintage Liza.
Liza: Is this a pep talk?
Tad: It's not working, is it?
Liza: No. But thank you.
Tad: All right. Sorry.
Liza: Thank you, really. It was very sweet.

Dixie: Hi. It's getting late. I'd like to leave now.
Liza: You should go. I mean, there's nothing that's going to happen tonight.

Marian: Liza --
Liza: Mother.
Marian: They told me Derek was here. I need him.
Liza: What's going on?
Tad: You know something about Stuart? Did you hear anything?
Marian: No, there's nothing new. But the police said that they had to wait 24 hours before they could do anything. Well, 24 hours have passed, and I want them to find Stuart.
Liza: Oh, mother, come on. Just calm down.
Marian: I can't calm down, Liza, and I can't wait any longer. Now, where's Derek?
Tad: Just try to take it easy. I'll go and find him.
Liza: Everything's going to be ok.

Opal: Erica? Erica, what planet are you orbiting there?
Erica: Oh, I'm fine. Fine.
Opal: Honey, don't scare me like that. What are you thinking about?
Erica: Opal, how can you even ask? I mean, this evening certainly wasn't the glowing wonderful success that I had envisioned.
Opal: Honey, I was up there. I heard you and that Italian stallion yelling at each other.
Erica: What did you hear?
Opal: Well, I heard you just about to rip his head off.
Erica: Well, don't worry about Paolo. I took care of him. But David -- have you seen David?
Opal: Yeah. Yeah, I sent him up there.
Erica: Up where?
Opal: Up to Paolo's room.

Derek: He's dead. Yeah, this is lt. Frye. I have what looks like a homicide at the Valley Inn in room 920. I'm going to need a forensics team down here ASAP.

Palmer: Vanessa, you've gone all pale.
Vanessa: Leo, darling, are you all right? What happened?
Derek: Look, I'll take it from here, Mrs. Cortlandt. All right, Leo. Why don't you start at the beginning.
Leo: I don't know. The door was open. I happened to walk by, and this guy was standing on -- laying on the floor and there was blood all over the --
Derek: Right. Where did this come from?
Leo: Over there.
Derek: Did you know him?
Vanessa: Oh, certainly not, Lieutenant. Come on. How could he? That man is a common criminal. He's the one that stole my necklace, which is why I brought you up here.
Palmer: Vanessa, Vanessa, let the lieutenant do his job.

[Telephone rings]

Derek: Yeah, this is Lt. Frye. Yeah, Henshaw, I just phoned in. There's an apparent homicide at the Valley Inn --

Vanessa: Leo, darling, I don't want you to worry. Everything's going to be fine.
Leo: Why shouldn't it be?
Palmer: Now, I wonder where he's going.

Derek: What happened to Leo?
Vanessa: Wait. Lt. Frye, please let the boy alone. Come on. It's his first dead body.

David: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down. What's the matter?
Leo: Get out of my way, ok?
David: No, I'm not going to get out of your way. You know, you hang out in these halls entirely too much.
Derek: What's wrong with you? I'm not finished with you.
David: Wait a minute. Wait. Lieutenant, what's going on here?
Derek: A dead body. Room 920. Your brother was found there alone with the body. And then he tried to cut and run.
Leo: I did not. I was --
David: Leo! Leo, don't say a word. We'll get a lawyer.
Leo: Typical. Two words from a cop, and you automatically think I'm guilty. I don't need a lawyer, ok?
Derek: That's right. That's right. You don't need a lawyer, Leo. Just tell me the truth. What happened in that room?
Leo: Look, the guy was lying on the floor. I noticed him from the hallway. I went in to see if anything was wrong, and I saw that he wasn't moving. There was blood all over --
Derek: Did you see anybody else in the hallway at the time you entered the room?

Vanessa: Don't say another word, Leo. Why are you questioning my son? He has done nothing wrong. You're treating him like a criminal.
David: The lieutenant seems to think that Leo was fleeing the scene. But the fact is Leo was coming to get me. He felt that you needed a doctor.
Leo: That's right. That's what I was doing. Why didn't you just ask me?
Derek: The man was dead, Leo. Why would he need a doctor?
David: Oh, for crying out loud, he just found a dead body. How can you expect him to be rational? Maybe he felt that you needed a medical professional to offer that judgment.
Derek: After you, Mr. Du Pres.

Palmer: Vanessa? Vanessa: Ah!

Leo: How about a handout to a needy mental case?

Palmer: So much for Vanessa brushing you up on the American work ethic.
Leo: My mother is hardly in a position to be teaching anybody about ethics, work or otherwise.
Palmer: Meaning?
Leo: Meaning my mother is hardly the woman or the wife you think she is.

Opal: But you said you wanted David to pay attention to you. That's why you took up with the Paolo in the first place.
Erica: But I don't want David to fight with Paolo.
I've got to stop him. Opal: Let him defend your honor for a little bit. I mean, men seem to like that sort of --

Erica: Palmer?
Palmer: Erica, you shouldn't be here.
Erica: Why? What happened? Where's David?
David: I would say the cause of death was a blow to the head.
Man: Ok, let's take a look.
Opal: Oh, Erica. Erica --
Erica: He's dead.

Adrian: You know, Tina, you always seem to surprise me.
Tina: Why do you say that? Adrian: Well, I look at your dedication to the children, the shelter, the homeless people.
Tina: Oh. What did you think, I was just some chick behind the bar with palm trees in her drinks?
Adrian: I like that part, too.

Ryan: I just think, Gillian, that if we talk, we can --
Gillian: Ryan, I keep telling you, we have nothing to say to each other.
Ryan: You know that's not true, Gillian.
Gillian: I'm not going to leave with you. In fact, I don't want anything to do with you at all.

Liza: Thanks, Tad. Go on, mother, drink this. It's going to help. It'll keep you warm.
Marian: Thank you.
Tad: Don't worry. I'm still working on finding Derek, ok?

Dixie: Excuse me. Tad --
Tad: Yeah? Dixie: Wait.
Tad: Oh, honey, I'm sorry, but Marian's having such a rough time. I just don't think I can take off right now.
Dixie: Ok.
Tad: Besides, I think she's right. It's high time the cops start Stuart looking for Stuart.
Dixie: Fine. I'll stay.
Tad: I don't want you to have to do that. No, seriously. It's been a long night, and I don't want you to wear yourself out.
Dixie: Do you mind if I stay with you?
Tad: Do I mind? I love you. Come on.

Liza: Did that help? Mother, you're not dressed.
Marian: So what?
Liza: Well, no wonder you're freezing.
Marian: Liza, I can't worry about being cold. I've got to find Stuart.

Esther: What's what?
Becca: That noise. Did you hear that?
Scott: Are you alone in there?
Esther: Well, why shouldn't I be?
Scott: I'm sorry.

[Stuart moans]

Esther: Um -- I have a dog. A big dog. And it's not very friendly with strangers at all. If he were to wake up and hear you, he'd probably attack, so you should go now.
Becca: Oh, ok. Ok. Yeah, I'm sorry. We'll go.
Esther: Oh, but if I should see or hear from Stuart, I'll be sure and call you.
Becca: Thank you.
Scott: Thank you.
Becca: Thanks. Ok, bye.
Esther: Bye.

David: Erica, are you all right? Erica, look at me.
Erica: Yes, I'm all right.
Vanessa: You know, Lieutenant, I really think you should interrogate Erica instead of my son. After all, she knew the man intimately -- the dead man.
Derek: Is that true, Erica?
Erica: I don't have an idea what's going on here. I hardly knew him.
Vanessa: You know, Lieutenant, the word in the hotel is that the dead man was a paid escort for sad and lonely women. And you must have seen them together downstairs. I mean, he escorted Erica to the event. You probably also heard the argument they had.
Derek: Why were you arguing?
Erica: We were not arguing. We just had a difference of opinion. And I certainly did not pay him to be my escort.
David: Lieutenant, Ms. Kane is hardly in any condition right now to answer questions.
Vanessa: I should say so. My goodness. You haven't been yourself all evening, have you, dear? And we all saw why.
Erica: What exactly are you implying, Vanessa?
Opal: Just let it lie, Erica. You're playing right into her hands.
Vanessa: You simply have to pull yourself together, my dear. I mean, so you fell off the wagon. Clear your head. Be of some help to us around here.
Erica: How dare you.
Vanessa: Well, can you answer the lieutenant's questions, darling, or are you still drunk? Ow! Jeez.

[Erica slaps Vanessa]

Derek: Oh, no. Here we go.
Vanessa: Oh, no. This is not --
David: Vanessa! Knock it off!
Derek: Come on, now. Calm down.

Dixie: Oh, my God. What happened?
Derek: All right, all right, all right! Everybody out. Everybody out. This is now a closed crime scene. You'll all be questioned downstairs separately.

Erica: She is a filthy liar!
Derek: All right. Everybody out, please. Please.

Tad: Palmer, what's with all the cops?
Palmer: Oh, I'm sure lt. Frye has everything well in hand.
Tad: Are you ok?
Palmer: I'm very well, thank you.

Opal: Oh, my Lord.
Dixie: You know, I saw Erica giving Paolo money. Is it true? Did she pay him to be her escort?
Opal: Oh, I don't know what crazy things go into that girl's head, but --
Erica: So what, then? So you think that I killed him?
Opal: No. Of course not, honey, no.
Erica: Opal?
Opal: How could you? You were with me all night long --
Erica: Yes, I was.
Opal: Or practically all night.
David: All right. Ok, look, come on. Let's just get away from here, ok? Come on.
Erica: Yes.
Opal: Yeah, go on and sing a solo -- so low nobody will hear you.

Vanessa: Leo?
Leo: Paolo was the man that was blackmailing me.
Vanessa: Why was he blackmailing you?
Leo: Well, I couldn't get him the money that he was asking for, so I suggested that he to his lover to get it.
Vanessa: Oh, you mean Erica.
Leo: No, mother. I mean you.

Derek: Excuse me, folks. Now, I promise that this won't take long at all. You'll be briefly questioned by an officer who'll take your name, your address, and your phone number.

Donald: Wait a minute. What happened? Can't you at least tell us that?
Derek: Well, sir, we'll release the details as the circumstances warrant it. But I do encourage you all to cooperate with this investigation. Thank you, all.
Donald: Oh, all right. Well, you know, hey, luckily in deals like this, it's drinks on the house for everyone.
Derek: No, no. I'm sorry. I've asked for the bar to be closed temporarily.
Donald: Oh, great.

Liza: You know, from the look on Derek's face, it seems like something really terrible happened upstairs.
Marian: Thank God he's still here. I've got to talk to him.
Liza: No, no, mother. Derek is busy.
Marian: Well, what do you suggest I do, take a number? He said to wait 24 hours, and I have. Now, I've got to talk to him right now, Liza.
Liza: Mother --

Ryan: Hey, guys.
Tina: Hi.
Ryan: What do you think happened?
Tina: Something horrible, I'm sure. Should we go check it out?
Adrian: No. There's been a murder.
Tina: How can you tell?
Adrian: It's all in his body language.
Ryan: His body language? You can tell that from his body language? What else can you tell?
Adrian: You know what? Let's just let them do their job. This doesn't pertain to us.
Tina: I agree.
Adrian: I mean, hey, we were having fun, right?
Ryan: Glad to hear somebody's having fun.
Tina: Where's Greenlee?
Ryan: Greenlee?
Tina: She was your date tonight, wasn't she?
Ryan: Yeah, actually, she was.

Greenlee: He has me. Doesn't he see that he has me? Then why does he want someone else? He's an idiot. But I still want him. Who's the idiot? Ow. Damn you, Ryan! All you ever do is cause me pain.
Gillian: Yeah, that's Ryan.

Derek: Keep an eye on the door. This area been cleared?
Officer: Yes, sir. We're ready to bring the body through now.
Derek: Do it.
Marian: Derek --
Officer: Wait a minute. Wait --

Marian: I have to talk to you right away.
Derek: It's all right. It's all right. Look, Marian, Marian, you can't be here right w. I want you to leave.
Marian: I'm not going anywhere.
Derek: Liza, we have cleared this whole area. Neither you nor Marian can be here right now.
Liza: I understand, Derek. Mother, would you just --
Marian: Stuart's out there somewhere. He may be sick. He may be hurt. And if the police aren't going to help me, what am I going to do, Derek?
Derek: Look, Marian, Marian, I understand, but you can't be here right now. They're bringing something through here that I don't think you should see.
Marian: Look, I've waited 24 hours.
Derek: Liza, can you take your mother out, please?
Liza: I will.
Marian: Oh, my God. It's Stuart. Oh, my God!
Liza: No, mother -- mother!
Derek: Marian --
Liza: Mother, no.
Marian: Paolo. Oh --
Liza: Oh! Mother.

[Marian faints]

Vanessa: How can you accuse me of such a thing? Darling, you know me better than that.
Leo: Exactly, Mother. I know you.
Vanessa: Leo, that man is nothing -- was nothing. He's the one that stole my necklace.
Leo, I went for the police I was so distressed. I was bringing them up --
Leo: Oh, for God's sakes, Vanessa. Knock it off. Just a few hours ago, I saw you in this room with him in bed together.
Vanessa: Leo --
Leo: No. I saw you, ok? I saw you. And I thought that you only got that enthused at the jeweler's or --
Vanessa: Oh, stop it. Stop. Just stop it. Leo, forgive me, darling, ok, but you have no idea how lonely I've been. Hardly anyone in this town is warm to me, and Palmer treats me like --
Leo: Oh, please. Please, ok? You don't have to give me any excuses. But the guy is dead, and he did not get that way on his own.
Vanessa: Well, all right, darling. All right. But we both made mistakes, right? We're just going to have to protect each other.

Liza: There, are you all right? You're going to be fine.
Derek: Sit right over here, Marian.
Liza: You're going to be all right. Just sit down.
Derek: Right over here.
Liza: Take a deep breath.
Derek: See if you can find a doctor.
Tad: Marian? Hey, what happened?
Liza: Tad, they just wheeled a dead body through here.
Tad: I know, I know.
Liza: It's ok.
Derek: Doc?
David: What's going on?
Derek: Marian fainted.
David: Marian fainted? Ok.
Liza: She fainted.
David: All right, Marian, take a look at me for a second, will you?
Liza: Is she going to be all right?

Tad: Derek, you said 24 hours. Now, it's been 24 hours. You've got to start looking for Stuart.
Derek: Tad, I will get somebody on it.
Tad: I don't want somebody. I want you.
Derek: I'm sorry, Tad. I've got a dead man on my hands right now.
Tad: You're my best friend. Listen to me. Co on, man. We're talking about Stuart Chandler here.
Derek: I under-- Tad, I will get the search started, and then I will join it as soon as I get this mess contained, all right? Excuse me.

David: Marian, do you know where you are?
Marian: Yes.
David: Ok. Why don't you tell me.
Marian: I'm in the Valley Inn. I don't need a doctor, really.
David: Ok. I think she's all right.
Liza: All right. Thank you, David.
David: Sure.

Marian: Liza, I saw him. He was dead.
Liza: Don't think about it, Mother.
Marian: For a minute, I thought it was Stuart.
Liza: But it wasn't Stuart. It wasn't.
Marian: But what if?
Liza: No what ifs." You can't think that way. It wasn't.
Marian: Liza, we don't know. Maybe Stuart is out there somewhere dead.
Liza: It's all right.

Becca: Where else do you want to look?
Scott: I don't know.
Becca: Maybe we should call it a night.
Scott: No.
Becca: Look, we don't know where else to look --
Scott: Look, I don't care. I don't care. We have to keep looking r him. I -- I'm sorry.
Becca: It's ok, Scott. Don't apologize.
Scott: Look, I just -- I can't sit back. Not this time.
Becca: What do you mean, "not this time"?
Scott: When my mom died, I did nothing.
Becca: What could you have done?
Scott: Something.
Becca: Scott, you were a little boy. She had a terrible disease.
Scott: My mom loved me so much. Her love for me was so big. I could feel how big her love for me was when she'd look at me or when she'd hold me. I wanted to love her back as much. I couldn't. But maybe if I could have, it would have made her just a little bit stronger and she would have lived just a little bit longer, you know, just one more day, just --
Becca: Shh, shh, shh.

Esther: You poor thing. What Adam must have done to you. When I found you on the beach, I could see that you were hurt. Oh, and not just on your body, but could see something in your face. I could see the kind of pain that someone like you should never have to feel. I felt pain like that once when you disappeared from my life. I wanted to die. But -- but I'm not feeling that way now, Stuart, really. You've taken it away. And I'm going to take away your pain. I promise.

Derek: You obviously knew the deceased.
Marian: Yes, I did.
Derek: How well did you know him?
Marian: He -- he was going to buy a house from me.
Derek: That's it?
Liza: Mother, you should just tell him. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
Marian: Well, he asked me to come up to his hotel room one night to give me a deposit, a check, you know, on a house that I'd shown him. But instead of which, he drugged me and tried to seduce me. But I passed out and nothing happened.
Derek: Nothing?
Marian: No, nothing happened.
Derek: Ok. Can you account for your whereabouts tonight?
Liza: Oh, Derek, please. My mother didn't kill Paolo.
Derek: Liza, I have to ask.
Liza: And for your information, I didn't kill Paolo, either.
Tad: Derek, you'd probably get further if you questioned Adam.
Derek: Adam has an alibi.
Tad: Derek, Adam set up the whole seduction. Talk to his front man.
Derek: Front man?
Tad: Yeah, the guy that hired Paolo to do Adam's dirty work in the first place -- Leo Du Pres.

Officer: Ok, thanks.
Tina: Sure.
Adrian: Thank you.
Ryan: Hey.
Adrian: Hey.
Ryan: Adrian, you were right. Somebody was murdered in one of the rooms. They just carried the body out, out of the bar.
Tina: Was anybody else hurt?
Ryan: Didn't look like it, no. Why?
Tina: Well, I have some experience with this kind of thing, you know?
Ryan: Oh. Well, looks like Greenlee is long gone, so I think I'm going to get out of here myself.
Adrian: Have a good one.
Ryan: Yeah.
Tina: Good night.
Ryan: Take it easy.
Adrian: Can we get out of here, too?
Tina: Yeah. It looks like the party's over.
Adrian: Not for us.

Vanessa: Leo. Leo, wait. We haven't decided on a course of action yet.
Leo: Well, my part is pretty easy, isn't it, Mother? Just keep my mouth shut, don't let on that you were having sex with my friend Paolo.
Vanessa: Leo!
Leo: Oh, what, you're worried now, Mother? Oh, you're wondering how in the world I'm going to keep my mouth shut. Is that it?
Vanessa: Oh, darling, come on. You'll keep your mouth shut --
Palmer: Vanessa. Vanessa, I thought you were right behind me. Something wrong, Vanessa? Haven't you gotten over the sight of a dead body?
Vanessa: Oh --
Leo: Oh, poor Vessa's had one too many shocks this evening, Palmer. But, of course, her main concern, as usual, is me. Isn't that right, Mother?
Vanessa: Today and every single day of my life, darling. Now I'm going to get a very large drink. Will you join me, Palmer?
Palmer: I'll be right with you.

Leo: What?
Palmer: Has Vanessa been having an affair with Paolo?
Leo: Palmer.
Palmer: You implied that she was being unfaithful to me. Was it Paolo?
Leo: I'm not answering any more questions without my lawyers present.
Is that blood?
Palmer: Blood? Blood? I must have gotten that upstairs. I'll join your mother.

Leo: Palmer's jealous.

Derek: Why did you tell me you didn't know the dead man? The way I understand it, you hired him to seduce Marian Chandler.

Donald: Tell me, Ms. Kane, how did you feel when you found out the bar was closed and you weren't able to get your last drink?
Erica: So help me, if you're not out of here in three seconds --
Dixie: Absolutely. You just get out of here right now.
Opal: Or you're going to find yourself with a few inches less than you came in with. Get my drift?
Donald: Thank you. Thank you. Note to myself -- me and strong women -- discuss with Dr. Polanski.

Erica: David, did Derek want you to look at the body again?
David: No, no, no. It was Marian Chandler. She fainted when she saw the body.
Opal: Oh, my Lord. Is she all right?
David: Yeah, I think she's fine. She's very worried about her husband.
Opal: Oh, of course. Boy, it just never ends, does it?

David: I'm sorry you had to see the body. It must have been a real shock.
Erica: It wasn't the body. David, the police are going to accuse me of having murdered Paolo because I was seeing him and because I quarreled with him and I was paying him but only to make you jealous.
David: Nobody's going to seriously accuse you of killing Paolo.
Erica: David -- David, there was a tape, an audiotape, and Paolo has that -- had it. And once the police find that, they're going to know that there is a connection between Paolo and me and they're going to --
David: Erica, listen to me. Listen to me. The police are never going to see that tape.
Erica: How can you be so sure? David: Because --
[David takes the tape out of his pocket]

Greenlee: This is too weird.
Gillian: Why? If you want to talk --
Greenlee: I don't think so. Thanks for the tissues. It's been real.
Gillian: You're trying to kill the feelings, but you can't. I know. I'm trying to do the same.
Greenlee: Your feelings for Ryan?
Gillian: I love my husband. And when he comes back, I'll be here for him. But I still feel something for Ryan.
Greenlee: What would Jake think if he knew that?
Gillian: Jake's a very smart and understanding man.
Greenlee: He'd understand your feelings if you felt something for another man?
Gillian: No. No. That's why I have to kill these feelings. No matter what it takes, I can't think of Ryan the way I do.
Greenlee: I wish I could, too.
Gillian: See, we have a lot in common.
Gillian: If you ever want to talk, call me.
Greenlee: Sure. I'll call you. Don't mention any of this to Ryan.
Gillian: I wouldn't dream of it.

Greenlee: Ryan wants her, and she wants to kill her feelings for him. Ryan wants her. That's what I'll have to do to make him fall in love with me. I'll be like Gillian. In fact, I'll even out-Gillian Gillian.

Scott: Becca, I don't want to be left alone again. If my dad doesn't --
Becca: Scott, we're going to find your dad. You are not going to be alone. I'm not going to leave you.
Scott: You promise?
Becca: Promise.

Esther: Hello. How do you feel?
Stuart: Where am I? Esther: You're here in my trailer. Don't you recognize me?
Stuart: I don't -- I don't remember anything.
Esther: Oh, well, that ok. I'll tell you everything when you feel better. But you should rest now, hmm? Ok?
Stuart: Ok.
Esther: I'll tell you everything. But first, I want to make sure that I never, ever lose you again.

Opal: That poor thing. I mean, can you imagine coming face to face with the body of the man that almost raped you?
Dixie: The police are going to be so consumed with this murder, they're going to forget all about Stuart.
Opal: I just hope she can bear up under it. I mean, thank goodness she's got Liza now and Tad. He a real pillar of strength.
Dixie: You know, I think I'm going to go home. Would you mind telling Tad?
Opal: Well, honey, don't you think he's going to want to kiss you good-bye?
Dixie: I'm sure Liza and Marian need him more right now. I'll kiss him when he gets home, ok?
Opal: All right, sweetie.
Dixie: Good night.
Opal: You sleep tight, ok?
Dixie: Ok. You, too.
Opal: All right.

Liza: All right, Mother, why don't we just go home.
Marian: Liza, maybe there'll be word.
Liza: You know, if there is, they can contact us. They have all our numbers.
Opal: Tad?
Tad: Mm-hmm.
Opal: Dixie just told me to tell you that she went on home and she'll kiss you once you get there.
Tad: Ok, thanks.
Liza: Tad, go home to Dixie.
Tad: I will. I'll go home just as soon as I drop you guys off. Come on.
Liza: Thank you.
Opal: Night-night.

Derek: Then why did you tell me you didn't know the deceased?
Vanessa: He didn't. Leo didn't know Paolo.
Derek: But you said you had business dealings with the man. What kind of business dealings?
Vanessa: All right, Lieutenant, I think I should inform you that I have just called my attorney. My son will not be answering any more questions until his lawyer is present.
Derek: Is that what you want, Leo?
Leo: I want a lawyer, so that effectively ends all police questioning. I watch television.
Derek: Fine. Well, you come find me when your lawyer gets here.
Vanessa: Leo, come here.
Leo: Thank you, Mother, but you realize that we're probably going to need different lawyers.
Vanessa: Leo, I did not call an attorney. I called Palmer's pilot. He's right now instructed to fly you to Canada. He's fueling up the jet.
Leo: What?
Vanessa: It's the best place for you until I can figure out how to get you out of this mess.
Leo: You think that I did it. You think that I killed Paolo.

David: It's not important how I knew. The point is you don't have to be afraid anymore.
Erica: But, David, how did you get hold of the tape?
David: That doesn't matter, either.
Erica: Well, it was in Paolo's room. You were there.
David: Yes. And I took it.
Erica: David, then you killed Paolo.

ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Erica: I have waited so long to be back in your arms.

Ryan: Whether I'm near you or I'm away from you, it's all torture.
Gillian: I can't get you out of my head, either.
