ALL MY CHILDREN

AUGUST 21, 2000

Alex: Know what? If you hadn't asked me to marry you, I think I'd have asked you myself.

Agent: Sir, may I help you?
Dimitri: Uh, yes, yea of course. There is a flight leaving for Zurich in an hour. Any first-class tickets left?
Agent: I believe so. One-way or roundtrip?

Alex: So you can definitely meet me at WRCW?
Edmund: If you need me, I'm there. Now, where exactly am I supposed to go?
Alex: The next "Wave" set. Do you know where that is?
Edmund: What, you doing a medical segment for Hayley's show?
Alex: Oh, I don't want to discuss it on the phone.
Edmund: 15 Minutes?
Alex: I'm timing you.

Joe: Alex, you're positively beaming.
Alex: That's because I'm engaged to Edmund.

[Gillian gasps]

Gillian: Alex! That's great! Congratulations!
Alex: Thank you, thank you.
Joe: Oh, that's terrific news.
Alex: Thank you. I think Dimitri would approve, yes?
Joe: Oh, of course he would, and with all his heart. I believe he's watching over you right now.

[Pager beeps]

Alex: Oh, is that me?
Joe: Darn, darn, darn. Always -- why now?
Alex: It's you. Well, someone's got to run this place, and it's not me.
Joe: Yes, yes. Well, listen, I'm so very, very happy for you.
Alex: Thank you, thank you.
Joe: And you give my best to Edmund.

Alex: Yes, I will. He's so great. I love him.
Gillian: Yeah, he's such a sweet man. This is so great. I'm so happy.
Alex: Thank you. I want you and Jake to be in the wedding party.
Gillian: Yeah, I -- I'd do everything I can.
Alex: That was so thoughtless.
Gillian: No, Alex.
Alex: Yes, of course it was. Your husband's halfway around the world in a war zone, and I'm chattering on about my wedding.
Gillian: I'm sure Jake would be honored that you thought of him, really.
Alex: What are you doing right now? Do you think you could step away for a few minutes? I'm springing a surprise on Edmund over at WRCW.
Gillian: I'd love to, but the timing's not good.
Alex: Ok. I'm sorry. I know you're preoccupied with thoughts of Jake. I'm sorry.

Tina: Thank you very much for helping me clean up.
Girl: Thank you.
Tina: You make my job a lot easier here.
Girl: A tall, dark, handsome man --
Tina: A tall, dark, handsome man --
Girl: Is coming behind you.
Tina: Is coming behind me?
Girl: Yes.
Tina: Oh, that can't be. I don't know anyone like that. I mean, I wish I did. It'd be wonderful to finally have some time with someone who's decent and good-looking.
Adrian: Good enough?
Tina: Oh, they're gorgeous. Aren't they beautiful?
Girl: Yes, beautiful.
Tina: Oh.
Adrian: And what about the guy that they're attached to here?
Tina: Just as gorgeous.
Adrian: Mm-hmm.
[Tina gasps]

Girl: I'll see you later.

Tina: I'll see you later. Oh, oh.
Adrian: I just wanted to surprise you.
Tina: I love the flowers. They're just what we need here.
Adrian: Well, you are going to take them home, right?
Tina: Well, everyone needs to see something pretty during the day.
Adrian: Yeah, and it doesn't get any better than looking at you. You know, I have to wonder -- how does someone who grew up with nothing end up to be so damn generous?
Tina: Well, you make me feel like I have a lot to offer.
Adrian: Is that right?
Tina: Yeah, that's right. So what's up with the flowers?
Adrian: Do I need a reason to bring you flowers?
Tina: That depends. When are you leaving?
Adrian: You know me too well.
Tina: You're on the way to the airport for a flight to Chechnya, aren't you?
Adrian: Well, it's not going to happen that fast.
Tina: But you're going.
Adrian: I have a few more things to get ready, but yeah.
Tina: Well, you're going to meet your partner, right?
Adrian: No, that's not going to happen anymore. But don't worry, all right? I'm not going to be alone.

Ryan: Hey, Adrian, Tina. How are you? Look, I'm glad you're here. I wanted to talk to you about some particulars for this project.
Adrian: Yeah, I -- I was going to call you.
Ryan: Ok.
Tina: I'll go put these in some water.
Adrian: Ok.
Tina: Thank you.

Ryan: Well, you and Tina seem to be getting along very well.
Adrian: Yeah, she's the reason I'm going to come back home in one piece. Our first hurdle's going to be getting over there, though.
Ryan: Problems? About?
Adrian : We need a pilot.
Ryan: I thought you were going to call in some favors for that.
Adrian: Yeah, well, you know, a favor doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be free, Ryan. I mean, you know, these people are willing to do it, but they definitely expect to get paid. We got a lot of palms to grease over there.
Ryan: I'm -- I'm able to cover it up to $3 mill.
Adrian: Excuse me?
Ryan: You heard me.
Adrian: Just how did you come into that kind of money?

Greenlee: So what if Ryan dipped into the petty cash for a new suit. He isn't going to jail for it.
Mr. Midori: He's transferred $3 million to his personal account.
Greenlee: That would buy a lot of new suits.
Mr. Midori: Do you see me laughing, Greenlee?
Greenlee: Well, how do you know that he took the money? Were you standing behind him in line at the bank?
Mr. Midori: We have contacts keeping an eye on the incredibledreams account.
Greenlee: You were spying on him?
Mr. Midori: Given Mr. Lavery's background, my actions are completely justified. He was accused of taking kickbacks when he worked at WRCW.
Greenlee: Give the guy a break. He's ambitious.
Mr. Midori: My job is to protect your grandfather's interests.
Greenlee: Which include me. So make me happy and sweep this under the rug.
Mr. Midori: I said I was going to call the police, but your grandfather hates a scandal.
Greenlee: Me, too. There's no reason that grandfather or the police need to know.
Mr. Midori: Still, something must be done about Mr. Lavery's crime.
Greenlee: Oh, would you stop calling it that? There's got to be some kind of explanation.
Mr. Midori: Then find out what it is.
Greenlee: How? If I start asking questions, it'll completely blow my cover with Ryan. What if I come up with the money to cover for the loss?
Mr. Midori: Unacceptable. We can't risk him stealing another cent.
Greenlee: He won't, I promise.
Mr. Midori: Don't bother. You're acting like a child, wasting millions on a post pubescent crush. Your word means nothing.
Greenlee: How dare you speak to me like that. Remember who you work for.
Mr. Midori: Ms. Smythe, I have been a financial analyst for your grandfather most of my adult life. My loyalty is to him, not you.

[Greenlee sighs]

Greenlee: Can you give me a few days to work this out?
Mr. Midori: I'll give you 24 hours. Then I pull the plug.

Brooke: Just help me understand why you're being transferred. And please don't treat me like I'm some lost soul who's looking for an explanation for the weather.
Eliot: I'm sorry. I know this isn't what you expected.
Brooke: Can we just look at the facts here the way I see them? We kissed, and then all of a sudden you're being exiled from your parish. I mean, you're not required to take a vow of celibacy, right?
Eliot: Right.
Brooke: This is not the Victorian era. So there has to be something else.
Eliot: I'm not -- I'm not free to care for you, Brooke, or to -- to share my life with you.
Brooke: What does that mean?
Eliot: I -- I don't know how else to say it.
Brooke: Is there -- is there a woman?
Eliot: There is not another woman in my life except you. Please don't pursue this any more, ok?
Brooke: "This"? You mean us? You mean a potential us?
Eliot: I want to share everything in my life with you, but I can't.
Brooke: I thought that there was something happening between us. I thought that we connected. Was I wrong? I mean, was -- was I just deluding myself?
Brooke: Didn't you feel anything?
Eliot: If anyone is guilty of delusion, it's me.
Brooke: Why do you say that?
Eliot: Because this path has been clear to me from the start. I just -- I just didn't want to admit it.

Rev. Taylor: Pardon me. I didn't know Ms. English was here.
Brooke: Oh. Rev. Taylor, maybe you can provide some answers.
Eliot: Don't, Brooke.
Brooke: I'm just trying to understand why Eliot's being transferred.
Eliot: It's inappropriate to ask Rev. Taylor.
Brooke: I don't care if it's inappropriate.
Rev. Taylor: Ms. English, whether or not Eliot discusses his transfer is up to him. I'm sorry.

Brooke: Eliot, you can say anything to me. I have shared so much with you.
Eliot: And I'm grateful.
Brooke: I don't want your gratitude. I want you to be honest.
Eliot: I know that you've shared this curse, that you've suffered.
Brooke: Eliot, you're in pain, too. I can see that. I don't know why you don't trust me enough --
Eliot: This is not about trust. Brooke, you're the most honorable woman that I've ever known.
Brooke: Then just tell me what is going on.

Joe: I've been in touch with a number of humanitarian organizations, and they all seem to know about Jake's attempts to get those children out of Chechnya.
Gillian: But they're not going to help?
Joe: Well, you know how it is. You've got to keep on banging at doors in the hopes that sooner or later the right door's going to open up.
Gillian: And what about Adrian?
Joe: Well, I think he's our best bet because he's got the clout to get through to people over there.
Gillian: Do you think he'll go back?
Joe: I don't know. I'm going to find out. I'm going to call him right now. Excuse me.

Dixie: Oh, Joe, hi. Hey, Gillian, have you seen Alex? I need her to sign some forms for the foundation.
Gillian: She just went to WRCW.
Dixie: What's she doing over there?
Gillian: Oh, some surprise thing for Edmund.
Dixie: Oh. Well, these can wait. I don't want to ruin anything she's got planned.
Gillian: No, you know, she actually invited me over, so I'm sure she won't mind if you just show up.
Dixie: Gillian, how do you feel about this engagement?
Gillian: I think it's great. Why?
Dixie: Well, because I know how close you were to Dimitri.
Gillian: Well, I'm sure Dimitri would want Alex to have a full life once he was gone, and Edmund's the perfect person to give that to her.

Agent: Here you go, sir. Your flight will board within the hour.
Dimitri: Thank you.
Agent: Mm-hmm.

Greenlee: Grandaddy! Hi!
Woodruff: Greenlee! What a pleasant surprise. What do we have here?
Greenlee: Take a look.
Woodruff: Chocolate truffles?
Greenlee: Yes, an entire box just for you.
Woodruff: Oh, your grandmother would kill me if she knew.
Greenlee: Well, it'll be our little secret. You can munch on them while we drive home.
Woodruff: Did you bring that little convertible of yours?
Greenlee: The top's down, Bach's in the CD Player, and got your sunglasses. Try and keep it under 100.
Woodruff: Oh, well, you know I love chocolate truffles, Bach, and driving your car. Now, what's in it for you?
Greenlee: The satisfaction of making you happy.
Woodruff: Well, you're trying a little too hard.
Greenlee: Is it working?
Woodruff: All right, how much? I've got about $300 in my wallet.
Greenlee: Could you add a few more zeros and make it 3 million?

Alex: You made it. Good.
Edmund: What are we doing here?
Alex: I was very taken with your dramatic proposal.
Edmund: Well, you were, huh?
Alex: Yeah, it sort of made it impossible for me to say no.
Edmund: Well, that was the idea.
Alex: I loved that you created this whole "Midsummer Night's Dream" fantasy.
Edmund: Well, thank you. I knew it was your favorite place, so I, you know, could sense that I could use a theme.
Alex: Yes. I'd like to do the same thing, you see.
Edmund: I'd like to see that sometime.
Alex: All right. Ok, girls.
Edmund: Oh, do I even want to know what you're doing?
Alex: No.

Hayley: Is this the patient?
Alex: This is he.
Edmund: Oh, I saw a dirty movie like this once.
Becca: Oh, is he ready for his medicine now?
Edmund: That depends on how you plan to give it. Uh-oh.
Hayley: Alex?
Alex: Hmm?
Hayley: Tell him to be a good boy.
Alex: I've always found it very wise to obey the nurses.
Edmund: Do I have a choice?
Hayley: Hit it, Alex.
[Music plays]

[Telephone rings]

Man's voice: Hello?
Woman's voice: Hi, honey. It's me. I went to see the doctor today because ever since you've been gone, I had a pain deep down inside. He says there's nothing really wrong with me. I'm just missing my man. So, honey, please come on home as soon as you can.
Singer: Doctor's orders say there's only one thing for me nothing he can do 'cause only you can cure me since in my condition love's the best physician he's just the right love potion for I want emotion every day our love is too good to be taken it's the only thing to stop this empty heart of mine from breaking' let's get better do your best again

[Telephone rings]

Dixie: Hello?

Dimitri: Dixie, it's me.
Dixie: Hey. Where are you? How are you?
Dimitri: Well, I'm all right -- physically, I mean.
Dixie: Where are you calling from?
Dimitri: Well, I'm at the -- what -- what's that noise I hear in the background?
Dixie: It's -- it's a little party that's going on. Some people playing some old music.
Dimitri: Oh. Well, I tried reaching David in surgery. I mean, he is in surgery, so could you leave him a message for me?
Dixie: Yeah, sure. Can you tell me where you are?
Dimitri: I'm at the airport.
Dixie: Where are you going?
Dimitri: I'm leaving the country. And, Dixie, before your mind starts going off in a million directions --
Dixie: No, no, no. I am not listening to any more of your lame excuses, ok? I am the one that's worried about you. Where are you going?

Woodruff: $3 Million? You must be joking.
Greenlee: I wouldn't ask for it if I didn't need it.
Woodruff: Need it for what? You buying a small island somewhere?
Greenlee: If I said yes, would you give me the money?
Woodruff: No.
Greenlee: Well, what if I said that I was planning on making the island a haven for disadvantaged youth?
Woodruff: That's a good cause. But I suspect the money is for personal use, so take your truffles. I'll grab a cab.
Greenlee: Hey. Do you want me to beg?
Woodruff: Please don't.
Greenlee: Isn't my happiness a good cause?
Woodruff: You know, Greenlee, lately I'm beginning to question what it takes to make you happy. Now, I've only seen you this desperate when it comes to one thing -- Ryan Lavery. Now, does this have something to do with him?
Greenlee: Yes. Yes, but it will be money well-spent.
Woodruff: He's not content to spend all the other moneys I've sent his way?
Greenlee: Oh, no, no, no, he's more than happy, Grandfather, believe me. But this is our chance to be key players in his new business.
Woodruff: I already am a key player.
Greenlee: Well, now imagine a 200% return on your investment. If you write me a check, I can guarantee --
Woodruff: Greenlee, I cannot continue to finance your obsession with this young man. Now, I should never have let it get this far.
Greenlee: Yeah, but I love him, and he is so close to loving me, Grandfather.
Woodruff: Are you -- do you really need a man who has to be convinced to care for you?
Greenlee: I don't see it that way.
Woodruff: Maybe you would if you took a break. Listen, why don't you go with your grandmother and me on a cruise? We could hit the Aegean before the season starts.
Greenlee: You know, you've always said that winning is hard and that the winners of the world like it that way. Well, I'm trying to win Ryan.
Woodruff: I never said win at all costs.
Greenlee: Sometimes that's what it takes.
Woodruff: Boy, I worry about you. You are a darling, impossible child.

[Telephone rings]

Greenlee: Oh.

[Ring]

Greenlee: Hello?
Ryan: Greenlee, it's me.
Greenlee: Ryan. It's him. What's up?
Ryan: I need to see you. How's BJ's?
Greenlee: Yeah, I'm on my way.
Now, would he be calling, asking to see me if he didn't care? Please write a check.
Woodruff: If this man feels 1/10 of what you feel for him, you don't need $3 million to seal the deal. No check.
Greenlee: You hate saying no to me.
Woodruff: It's for your own good, so I'll suffer through it.

Adrian: Listen, I don't really like being on a need-to-know basis when it comes to money, all right? Either you won the lottery or you boosted it.
Ryan: I would never rip off my own company, man.
Adrian: Incredibledreams.Com is the only source that you have, Ryan. Now, you have access to the bank accounts. Now you have a motive.
Ryan: I took a loan.
Adrian: Oh, yeah. And they're not going to miss 3 mill?
Ryan: All right. All right, all right. Look, I just move a little bit around, I defer some payments to myself, I sell some stock options, and I got it covered, ok?
Adrian: Oh, yeah, and you forget the part where you go directly to jail, don't pass go.
Ryan: All right. Ok, listen, think about it this way -- what is the biggest dream the Martin family has right now?
Adrian: Seeing their son come home alive.
Ryan: Exactly. You see, and that's where we step in. We go in there, we get the children out, we get Jake out of Chechnya, and you tell me we're not making everybody's dream come true.

Eliot: Trusting you doesn't change anything, Brooke.
Brooke: That's a crock. You just don't want to speak your heart to me.
Eliot: That's not true. I just can't.
Brooke: I feel sorry for you. I don't even know why. And I'm sorry that I ever let myself feel that we could -- it -- it's enough for me, all right? I don't know what the reasons are, Eliot, but I know what it means.
Eliot: Take care of yourself, Brooke.

[Music plays]

[Music stops]

Edmund: Brava! Brava!
Alex: You impressed?
Edmund: I am speechless.
Gillian: You were great, you guys!
Becca: Oh, thanks.
Hayley: Come here. I am so happy for you.
Edmund: Oh, thank you.
Tiffany: You guys are perfect for each other.
Becca: I know, and I hope you guys always stay together.
Alex: Oh, we're planning on it.
Tiffany: Oh, and thanks for making my dream of being in a girl group come true.
Alex: Anytime.
Hayley: Oh, hey, listen, how good is everybody at swing dancing? We're having a contest at S.O.S. I expect you all to join.
Becca: Are you serious?
Tiffany: Oh, I'd love to, but I don't know how good I'd be.
Becca: Well, it all depends on having the right partner.
Tiffany: Oh.
Hayley: Oh, look.
Becca: Excellent.
Edmund: Speaking of my partner --
Hayley: A toast, a toast.
Gillian: A toast.
Edmund: Yes, here we go.
Hayley: Everybody.
Becca: Thanks.
Hayley: Here's to finding love and to the blessings of a second chance. To Alex and Edmund.
All: Alex and Edmund.
Edmund and Alex: Thank you.
Alex: Everybody, cheers.
Gillian: Congratulations.
Edmund: Thanks to all of you. This was unforgettable.
Alex: I think so.
Gillian: Well, you guys, I really should be getting back to the hospital.
Becca: See you later.
Gillian: Congratulations.
Hayley: Bye, Gillian.
Gillian: Bye.

Alex: So, ready for the second part?
Edmund: There's more?
Alex: Well, I don't know. You want to drive up to that country inn you're always talking about?
Edmund: Oh, Honey, listen, I got to go to Washington. I got to finish that story. My bags are packed, and I really should get to the airport.
Alex: Oh, I forgot about that.
Edmund: Yeah.
Alex: Well, I'll drive you, make sure you don't forget me.

Dixie: Hey, Dimitri.
Dimitri: Dixie. What are you doing here?
Dixie: I'm not going to let you hang up on me.
Dimitri: All right. Come over here and catch your breath.
Dixie: I've been all over this airport looking for you.
Dimitri: Why? Why?
Dixie: Why? I'm not going to let you just disappear.
Dimitri: Who said I was going to do that?
Dixie: You did. You said you were leaving the country. Ok, you promised David you would stay until you were well.
Dimitri: That was the spirit of the agreement, yes.
Dixie: No, no, no, David was very clear. This treatment that you're on is highly experimental. You need to keep being monitored.
Dimitri: Yes, every second of every day.
Dixie: Look, you know what? If you leave, I'm just going to tell David, and he's going to blab it to everybody. Then Alex and Edmund will be chasing after you and I will be cheering them on. Why are you smiling at me?
Dimitri: Well, just stop with the hard sell. I'm coming back.
Dixie: Are you sure? Dimitri: Yes, yes.
Dr. Silbert gave me a treatment earlier today. That gives me enough time to go to Switzerland and come back.
Dixie: What, do you like chocolate or something?
Dimitri: Well, actually, I'm very fond of the banking systems over there. Now, look here, see this. That is proof positive I'm coming back.
Dixie: Roundtrip.
Dimitri: Mm-hmm. Now am I free to go?
Dixie: Well, I suppose you're unstoppable. Quit smiling at me. I hate it when you find me amusing.
Dimitri: I have to find you amusing. You put up a good fight.
Dixie: Well, I care about you. Is that a sin? Do you mind? I hate to see you run away from everything that you have here.
Dimitri: Wait, wait. I am not running away from anything, and let's redefine "everything." My brother is on his way to finally being happy again, and I'm not taking that away from him.
Dixie: Your wife? Dimitri: Alex is my widow. That's the way it's going to stay.
Dixie: What about all the other people who would like nothing better than to have you back in their lives?
Dimitri: I promised David I would stay until the therapy is completed. If that day comes, I want a life, too. Now, I have three days in which to accomplish that.
Dixie: It's too soon. It's too soon to give up on your life here. If I were Alex, I would want to know that you were still with me.

Joe: Sounds like Edmund was caught off guard.
Gillian: Oh, he was. I'll never forget his face. He was so happy. I want to see Jake just as happy when he gets home. You know, we should throw a big celebration for him.
Joe: Oh, absolutely. We're going to have a very, very big bash. There's going to be a hero's welcome.
Gillian: With fireworks?
Joe: Oh, we'll turn night into day. But, you know, doing what he's doing, trying to get those kids out -- it's so classic Jake. I'm so proud of him and I'm so upset with him at the same time. I just -- I don't want to lose him.
Gillian: None of us does. You know, I'd go back there and drag him back myself if I could.

Greenlee: Ryan. Over here.
Ryan: Wow, you got here fast.
Greenlee: It sounded important.
Ryan: Yeah, well, I -- I have to leave the country for a few days.
Greenlee: What for?
Ryan: I need you to help out with the company -- somebody, you know, who knows what's going on.
Greenlee: What's going on, Ryan?
Ryan: I just need to skip town for a couple days.
Greenlee: Are you in some kind of trouble?
Ryan: What? No. No, of course not.
Greenlee: Ryan, leaving the country right now would make you look really, really bad. Please don't do it.

Adrian: Yeah, dinner for two at your place sounds good to me.
Tina: Especially if you cook.
Adrian: You know, I do aim to please.
Tina: I'm pleased you do.
Brooke: Hi. I'm sorry to bother you. I was looking for Ricky.
Tina: Oh, he was downstairs. I'll go get him.
Brooke: Oh, thanks, Tina.
Tina: Excuse me.
Brooke: Sure.

Adrian: Hey.
Brooke: That's nice to see you and Tina so close. It is.
Adrian: Yeah, well, it is about time.
Brooke: Oh, I thought you had been dating since the Crystal Ball.
Adrian: No, we were sizing each other up.
Brooke: Ah.
Adrian: But it was nothing like it is now.
Brooke: Wasn't smooth?
Adrian: Oh, not in the least.
Brooke: I guess sometimes you just have to go for it.
Adrian: Yeah, that's right. Especially if you want to end up in bed, eating dinner, watching old movies with someone you dig, yeah.
Brooke: Yeah.

Tina: I found him.
Brooke: Hi.
Adrian: Listen, I -- I got to go. Good seeing you.
Brooke: You, too.
Tina: Wait up, wait up. Nice seeing you. I'll see you later.
Brooke: Ok, enjoy your movie.
So, I see you got to the doctor?
Ricky: He called?
Brooke: How are you feeling?
Ricky: Like puke.
Brooke: Ok.
Ricky: How am I supposed to feel, ratting out my old man?
Brooke: Listen, Ricky, telling the truth about your father is the way for you to be safe.
Ricky: I only did it because I know Rev. Freeman won't bail on me. You know, that's him. He sticks with you.

Rev. Taylor: I apologize for my intrusion earlier. That was a very intense conversation you were having with ms. English.
Eliot: Not as intense as it could've been.
Rev. Taylor: Then you didn't tell her the truth?
Rev. Taylor: Are you going to take the transfer?
Eliot: I don't have a choice.
Rev. Taylor: You know better than that. You've been making choices all along.
Eliot: I -- I am not strong enough to be truthful with her. I was behind the wheel of the car that killed Laura! I wish that it was Brooke hearing that instead of you.
Rev. Taylor: But you decided not to tell her, Eliot.
Eliot: I may have hurt her today, but she'll get over it. If I told her that I killed her daughter, how would she ever get over that?
Rev. Taylor: I think maybe you should stop making decisions for Ms. English and worry about yourself. Are you ready to go?
Eliot: Not yet. A kid came to me earlier today. He'd been severely beaten by his father. I promised him that I would either get his father locked up or get him some psychiatric help. I have to keep my promise.
Rev. Taylor: But can you still do that, considering the situation with Ms. English?
Eliot: If I keep my distance.
Rev. Taylor: Is that possible?

Greenlee: What could be so important that you would just take off like this?
Ryan: A project for the company, for, you know, incredibledreams.
Greenlee: So it is business-related?
Ryan: Yes. Absolutely.
Greenlee: Good. I can handle that.
Ryan: You can handle that? What -- what's with all the melodrama?
Greenlee: Well, I'm a stockholder. You know, we get nervous when things are so top secret.
Ryan: Oh. Well, you can always just check it out in the annual report. How's that?
Greenlee: So everything's on the up-and-up?
Ryan: Yeah, yeah, everything's on the up-and-up. You know, we're expanding, and I just don't think this information should really be public until everything's finalized. In the meantime, I need somebody to take care of the company, somebody who knows what's going on, and I know how much the company means to you.
Greenlee: More than you can possibly imagine.
Ryan: So you'll help me out?
Greenlee: Sure.
Ryan: Thank you, thank you, thank you. You're a lifesaver. Now, don't you go moving around any money on me, all right?
Greenlee: Ok. But where are you going?
Ryan: Classified. I'll call you, ok?

Leo's voice: Suffice it to say that Wade Randall dresses the way he does because women just like you signed over the family jewels to him.
Greenlee: What are you talking about?
Leo: Securities trading is just a cover. He runs high-stakes gambling parties. I've known a lot of people who've lost everything to him.
Greenlee: Looks pretty harmless to me.
Leo: Well, he's not. He's the polar opposite of harmless. He's mob-connected.

Greenlee: Wade. Right? We met earlier.
Wade: Greenlee Smythe. I could never forget so beautiful a woman.
Greenlee: Hmm, nicely put. I hear you're a good money man.
Wade: Uh, I've scored a few wins in my time.
Greenlee: Hmm, more than a few. You're a legend in the maki
ng.
Wade: Thank you. Greenlee: I'm interested in doing some business.
Wade: Well, I'm not going to lie to you. I know you have enough money to do, well, whatever it is you want.
Greenlee: There's something specific I have in mind.

Brooke: Ricky, what your father did to you was unacceptable.
Ricky: I know.

Eliot: Poker.
Ricky: Ms. English, you in?

Ricky: Thanks.
Brooke: Good night, Reverend.
Eliot: Night.
