ALL MY CHILDREN

DECEMBER 12, 2000

Leo: Are you sure you were pushed?
Laura: Absolutely.
Greenlee: Do you remember who did it?
Laura: No. I suppose it could have been anyone. When Shannon shoved me right now, I remembered what happened on the yacht. Somebody put two hands on my back and pushed me over the rail, and whoever it was wanted me in the water.
Greenlee: Aren't you being a little dramatic?
Laura: No. I am positive it was deliberate.
Bianca: Maybe you should --
Greenlee: Forget about it.
Laura: I almost died. I want to know who had it out for me.
Greenlee: And do what, push them back? Call them names? What?
Laura: Whoever did this is totally twisted and deserves to be locked up.

Dixie: Hi. I'm Adam Chandler Jr's mom. Is he here? Can you check for me?
Nurse: I'll see if he's been admitted.
Dixie: Thank you.

David: I want a full blood workup, all right, and an EKG, stat. Listen, get me a wheelchair right away. Dixie, are you all right?
Dixie: Hey -- I'm fine.
David: Ok, all right, just relax, ok? It's ok. We'll bring in a wheelchair. Here. Have a seat. You know, I knew you left the hospital too soon. Are you still your digoxin? Are you having any chest pains?
Junior: Hey --
David: Ok, look at me --
Junior: Hey! Get your hands off my mom.

Adam: Winifred!
Winifred: Yes. Mr. Chandler?
Adam: Yes, if anyone calls, tell them I've gone abroad.
Winifred: I didn't know this, Sir. Do you need me to pack a bag for you?
Adam: I'm not really going.
Winifred: Oh. Ok.
Adam: That's all.
Winifred: Mr. Chandler? When will you be back?
Adam: Tell anyone who asks you don't know.
Winifred: Yes, sir.
Adam: That's all, Winifred. Now, Arlene, you're about to divorce me.

[Telephone rings]

Adam: Adam Chandler.
Liza: Adam?
Adam: Liza, where are you?
Liza: At the airport.
Adam: What are you doing there?
Liza: Mother told me that you were taking the first flight out to Europe to track down Arlene. I wanted to come with you. I've been looking for you. Where are you?
Adam: I'm on the plane.
Liza: Have you left the gate? Because I can --
Adam: No, no, no, no, no. No, it's too late, darling.
Liza: No, Adam, I want to come with you.
Adam: No, you can't. They're taking off. I have to hang up now.
Liza: But, Adam --
Adam: Listen, we're breaking up. I can't --
Liza: Really? Because I can hear you just fine.
Liza: I haven't tried that bad connection trick since I was a teenager. I expect something a little more sophisticated coming from you.
Adam: Liza, there's an explanation.
Liza: Hmm, I can't wait to hear it.
Adam: What are you doing here?
Liza: I could ask you the same question. But I'll go first. You see, it's actually kind of a pretty story. Mother told me that you were flying off to Europe to track down Arlene to get her to sign the divorce papers so there wouldn't be anything that would keep us from committing our love to one another. And it touched me. I thought to myself, well, I want to be there for you. I want to help you face this last obstacle that's keeping us from one another.
Adam: Oh, Liza --
Liza: I called your pilot, and I asked him to hold the plane. But, you see, he was a little confused because he wasn't scheduled to fly anywhere today. So I called Winifred, and she told me you weren't here. Now, she's very loyal, but she's a terrible liar.
Adam: Well, jeez, all she had to do was tell you I --
Liza: Don't get mad at Winifred. You left your shutters open. So there you are. Your turn.
Adam: Well, there's no story. I'm involved in a very big, important business deal, and secrecy is paramount -- privacy. Can't have any distractions.
Liza: I think you can do better than that. I am you, remember? You can't keep secrets from me.
Adam: Well, how about if you let me finish my work, we fly down to New York tonight, have dinner. What do you think about that?
Liza: Bribery. Must be important.
Adam: Liza --
Liza: Divorce agreement. If Arlene was in Europe, how in the world did you get her to sign the divorce papers?

David: I'm just taking care of your mother.
Junior: She doesn't need your help. Mom, do you want me to call Tad?
Dixie: No, no. It's not necessary.
Junior: Well, why is he with you?
Dixie: He's just trying to take care of me.
Junior: You're all right, aren't you?
Dixie: I'm fine, I'm fine. How's your wrist?
David: Oh, wait a minute. That's -- you're here because of Junior?
Dixie: Yes. That's what I was trying to tell you. My daredevil son crashed his scooter.
David: But you were out of breath.
Dixie: Yes, I was running in from the parking lot. I guess it must have winded me.
David: I'm sorry. I saw you gasping, and I thought that --
Dixie: Yes, of course, of course, but I'm nothing more than a worried mom, that's all. He's the one that needs the attention. Justin's mom called me.
Junior: I know. She thought I broke my wrist. And it's no big deal.
David: Well, look, let's look and see what's underneath that ice pack.
Junior: No. It's fine, thanks. Mom, can we please go?
Dixie: No, not until you have your wrist checked.
Junior: Mom, please.
Dixie: No. Come on. This is a big deal. You've got a big gig tonight. I want to make sure that you're ok. He's playing in his battle of the bands at the high school tonight.
David: Wow, that's pretty impressive, Junior.
Dixie: Yeah. Why don't you let David check your wrist?
Junior: He's a cardiologist.
Dixie: So what? Just let him check your wrist.
Junior: All right. Fine.
David: It doesn't appear to be broken.
Junior Uncle Jake -- I want Uncle Jake to look at my wrist, not some guy who's been harassing my mom.

[Becca sings]

Becca: I love Christmas.
Tina: Oh, yeah?
Becca: Yeah. We had this garland at home, but it's not this pretty. My brother Robbie chewed it when he was little, so -- I'm going home for Christmas. You know what? I have a baby cousin that I haven't even seen yet. My mother -- she's knitting this Christmas stocking for her right now.
Tina: Oh, gosh. "Home for Christmas." You know, I've never said those words in my entire life. I was hoping maybe this year -- what's it like?
Becca: Come with me and see for yourself.
Tina: Oh, you're sweet, but I can't, I can't.
Becca: Oh, you probably have something with Adrian. I'm sorry.
Tina: Well, actually, Adrian won't be here for Christmas. He doesn't feel comfortable leaving his family.
Becca: Even for a few days?
Tina: Maybe never.
Becca: Wait. Adrian's moving to Alabama for good?
Tina: Well, he just got a job.
Becca: You aren't breaking up, though, right? I mean, you can't.
Tina: I don't know. I don't know where we're headed, but Adrian wants me to join him for Christmas.
Becca: You should. I mean, you are going to have such a blast.
Tina: Please. Oh, I'm terrified.
Becca: Why? You already survived an eight-hour car ride with his parents, you know, when you took them to Adrian's surprise party at S.O.S.
Tina: That's not the problem. They're great.
Becca: Then what is?
Tina: If I go, I may not come back. Adrian wants me to move to Alabama.

Eliot: This came out of nowhere.
Brooke: Yeah. That's why I told him to meet us here because I thought it would be best if we tell him together.
Ricky: Tell me what? It's about my dad, isn't it? Did he get out of jail?
Eliot: No. No, Ricky. Your dad is going to be in jail for a long time.
Ricky: Then what is it? What's wrong?
Eliot: Don't look so worried.
Brooke: It's good news.

Greenlee: Jail? That's pretty extreme. I mean, it was probably just a prank.
Laura: Assault? Attempted murder? If that's someone's mutant idea of a joke, they deserve to be in prison.
Bianca: Laura, what happened to you really reeks, but, I mean, there were so many people on the ship that night. You might never find out who did it.
Laura: Well, that's right. There were a lot of people. So someone must have seen something.
Greenlee: What are you going to do, track down every person who showed up at the party?
Laura: Yeah. I'll get the guest list from Ryan.
Greenlee: How obsessive-compulsive of you.
Laura: Greenlee, I've spent too much of my life as a victim. No one's going to take advantage of me.
Bianca: Maybe whoever did this didn't mean it.
Leo: Or maybe they're just too afraid to fess up.
Greenlee: If it happened at all.
Laura: Why are you guys trying to talk me out of this? It was real, all right? It happened.
Greenlee: As real as anything else that night.
Laura: All I know is whoever did this meant for me to take a header.
Bianca: How can you be so sure?
Laura: I'll show you. You be me.

Leo: Greenlee, I know that Bianca isn't exactly your cup of tea, but please, please, please don't give her up to Laura. I still can't believe that Bianca was the one that pushed her.
Greenlee: Well, I'm just as shocked as you.
Leo: Maybe I can convince Bianca to give herself up to Laura.
Greenlee: You can't tell Bianca that you know or that I told you.
Leo: Why not? She needs help.
Greenlee: Bianca is very fragile. If she's confronted, it might send that little les-bit right over the edge, and I wouldn't want that on my conscience. What?
Leo: When did you grow a conscience?
Greenlee: Is this to hard to believe that I'm worried about Bianca?
Leo: Yes, actually. All right, I'm not going to say anything -- for now. Ok?

Laura: And then they went like that.

Bianca: Ok. Laura, I'm just going to get my books out of my locker, ok?
Leo: Ooh, I'll go with you. I hope you don't have a lot of homework. Your mother asked me to take you out tonight and show you a good time.
Bianca: Oh. I'm sorry, Leo. I don't know why she doesn't just leave the both of us alone.
Leo: She's a mom. It goes against the code. Besides, she actually is blaming me for you going to New York by yourself, thank you very much. So how is Sarah?
Bianca: Ok.
Leo: Yeah? Well, Laura's really flipped out, huh? Too bad nobody knows anything about how she went overboard the other night.
Bianca: Yeah.
Leo: You wouldn't happen to know anything that might be able to help her, would you?
Bianca: No.

Greenlee: The party was a total twilight zone. You heard people hallucinated, right?
Laura: So, what, you think I imagined being shoved in the water?
Greenlee: It makes sense.
Laura: No, none of this makes sense. But it will. When I find out who pushed me, I'm going to make them sorry they ever got on that boat.
Bianca: Why do you think I know something?
Leo: Because they found you right near where we fished Laura out of the water. Are you sure you didn't see something and forget?
Bianca: The only thing that I remember is being up close and personal with the deck.
Leo: What about before you passed out?
Bianca: Nothing. I swear. I went outdoors because I was feeling really weird, and then the next thing I knew, Dr. Hayward was waking me up and Laura was being rescued.
Leo: A lot of people are just remembering now what happened that night because of the Libidozone.
Bianca: That drug made everyone crazy. What happened to Laura had to be an accident. I mean, why can't she see that?
Leo: Because she's afraid, Bianca. She's had a lot of stuff come out of nowhere before. And the fear's not going to go away until she finds out what happened and why. Hopefully the phantom pusher will reveal himself -- or herself -- for Laura's sake.
Bianca: Look, she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anyone could have done it.
Leo: Anyone at all.

Dixie: Junior, come here. Let me talk to you. David didn't harass me, ok, sexually or otherwise.
David: I never meant to hurt your mother, Junior, or your family.
Junior: I thought we were friends.
David: I hope we still are.
Junior: Yeah, right. You were just nice to me to get to my Mom.
Dixie: Junior --
David: Wait a minute. It's ok.
Junior: You know what? I thought you were a nice guy. But nice guys don't do what you did to my mom. That's what Tad thinks.

Dixie: Can I have a word with you please, over here? Stand here. You got to stop this, ok? David is still my doctor and my friend.
Junior: Why are you standing up for him?
Dixie: Because he said he was sorry for what he did.
Junior: He sure looks real sorry.
Dixie: Look, I don't have to explain this to you, ok? I thought we talked about this.
Junior: Mom, I can't just forget about what he did.
Dixie: Look, sometimes being an adult means forgiving people their mistakes.
Junior: Did Tad forgive him?
Dixie: Tad dropped the sexual harassment charges.
Junior: Because you asked him to, Mom!
Dixie: Yes, I did ask him to, and I'm asking you the same thing -- to stop talking about it, ok? Can you do that for me?
Junior: Ok. Fine.
Dixie: Thank you. I love you, you know.
Junior: I love you, too. But I still want Uncle Jake to look at my wrist.
Dixie: Ok, ok. Go ahead.

Junior: Hey, Jake?
Jake: Hey.
Junior: Take a look at this.
Jake: What'd you do to yourself there, huh? You all right? Try to close it and make a fist, ok? That's good. Junior: Tell you what I'd like to do with this.
Dixie: David, I'm so sorry about Junior.
David: No, no, no, you don't have to be. If I had a mother like you, I would have done the same thing.
Jake: Well, you seem to have a full range of motion.
Dixie: Oh, that's great.
Jake: You know, I'm pretty sure that Junior's wrist isn't broken, but I want some X-rays to make sure there isn't a hair-line fracture. Nurse?
Dixie: Ok. Thank you, Jake.
Jake: Yeah, hey, can you take our stuntman here up to X-ray for me?
Nurse: Sure, Doc.
Jake: Thank you. Tell you what -- I'm going to be up there in a minute. Don't use that hand, ok?
Junior: I won't.
Jake: All right. Not yet, at least.

[Pager beeps]

David: Excuse me.

Dixie: So, what do you think? Do you think he's going to be able to sing tonight and perform? I mean, his band jumps around a lot.
Jake: Yeah, yeah, well, I think as long as there are no surprise in X-rays, he should be able to do this gig.
Dixie: Ok. That's good news.
Jake: Yeah, it is good news. I think he's going to be ok. You know what? I'm going to go check on him.
Dixie: Ok.
Jake: And you got a pile of forms waiting for you on the desk over there.
Dixie: Thanks a load.

Palmer: Where the hell is your father hiding?
Jake: Well, what's wrong?
Palmer: This is a scandal. "Incredible Nightmare." Lavery drugs his party guests and this hospital is supposed to be part of the cover-up? It says right here that one of the lab technicians altered the test results to hide the fact that the guests became ill because of the Libidozone. Now, is that true?
Jake: It seems to be. We -- we ran tests on everyone who came through the ER that night, and they all turned up clean. So I ran a separate panel on myself, and I found traces of the Libidozone, and the same thing was true for Dixie's blood.
Palmer: That's why my niece collapsed?
Jake: Apparently.
Palmer: Jumpin' Jehoshaphat. What else do you know?
Jake: Well, not much. But I don't think that this lab tech worked alone.
Palmer: Oh, it's a conspiracy theory. That's your idea?
Jake: Palmer, he would have to know what to look for. Libidozone is brand-new and it's very obscure.
Palmer: I can see the lawsuits flying in now. Why can't your father control his employees?
Jake: My father has nothing to do with this. He's not to blame for this at all.
Palmer: Well, I want that technician brought to me now. His head will do.
Jake: Well, believe me, Gordon Feimster, who was the technician, is tops on my list for people I'm trying to find. And right now we don't know where he is.

Gordon: Jake Martin's going to get real suspicious when those samples turn up missing.
David: Yes, that's true, he is, and that's why you're leaving town tonight.

Jake: Hayward. Did you know that Feimster's missing?
David: I had no idea. Well, if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Liza: You lied to me. Arlene's still here. Is she upstairs? Because I'm going to go rip her apart, and then I'm going to come back for you.
Adam: No, no, hold on. Arlene is not here.
Liza: What the hell is going on? If she's in Europe, how did she sign these papers?
Adam: Fax. I contacted Arlene. She agreed to the divorce. I sent her the papers. She signed them and faxed them back to me.
Liza: Bull. A court, any decent court, is not going to accept a legal document that has a fax signature on it. Besides, Adam, these are the original.
Adam: Yeah. All right, I hired a detective to track down Arlene for me.
Liza: Where is she?
Adam: Monte Carlo. She likes the tax situation.
Liza: Ugh. You are so full of it.
Adam: I swear!
Liza: What about the airport hogwash?
Adam: Well, that was Marian getting things bass-ackwards as usual. I told her that I was going to the airport to meet the detective and -- so he could give me the papers.
Liza: Ahem. They're dated today. That's impossible.
Adam: Well, it's earlier today there than it is here. Arlene is a ditz. She doesn't know what day it is.
Liza: You know what's amazing? This is the same pen that Arlene used. What are the odds?
Adam: What difference does it make how it happened? It's over. We're free. Arlene is out of our lives forever.
Liza: You forged Arlene's signature, didn't you?
Adam: Yes, I did.
Liza: You forged Arlene's signature. That's the solution? She could press charges. I do not want to see you going to jail because of that woman.
Adam: No, I am not going to jail.
Liza: Then you have to tear up these papers now.
Adam: Oh, no. No, no. I was desperate, Sweetheart. Don't be hasty.
Liza: I am not going to be a part of that.
Adam: I'm not asking you to.
Liza: I already am. Why is the shortest distance between two points always a lie with you? Why can't you just tell the truth? Arlene is going to surface at some point, probably because she wants money. So we give her money, she signs the paper, and then she goes away.
Adam: Arlene is not going to do that. Let me do this my way.
Liza: Do you understand that if she finds out that we're pulling a scam on her she's going to make our life hell? No one does scorned woman fury better than Arlene. Are you prepared to live like that the rest of our lives?
Adam: Sweetheart, if you just trust me this one last time, I swear to you, I promise to you --
Liza: Adam, don't --
Adam: She'll be gone forever. She'll never bother us again.
Liza: You're being naive. Just because she's vanished doesn't mean that we're free of her. As long as she has breath in her body, she is going to fight you. What? What's wrong?
Adam: Nothing, nothing.
Liza: She does have breath left in her body, doesn't she?

Greenlee: Maybe you should just chill out about this.
Laura: I almost died.
Greenlee: But you didn't. You got wet. On the bad party scale, that's barely worse than a wine stain. Look on the bright side -- you landed in water, not on concrete. Now, that would have been serious.
Laura: I can't swim. I could have drowned. Greenlee: Instead,
you were rescued by the gorgeous Rev. Freeman, Ryan, and Leo. Talk about party favors. You scored.
Laura: Are you nuts?
Greenlee: I just think that you're making too much of this.
Laura: Look, you don't know what it felt like. Someone out of nowhere tried to hurt me, and I have no clue who or why. I got to do something about it.
Greenlee: Where you going?
Laura: To tell my mom I remember being pushed.
Greenlee: Why?
Laura: Well, if you think I'm obsessing about it -- she hardly lets me out of her sight.
Greenlee: Wait, look, just -- you'll just upset her. Maybe you should wait until you're sure.
Laura: Oh. I'm sure.

Ricky: Hawaii?
Eliot: Right on the beach.
Ricky: No way.
Brooke: Well, your aunt's petition for custody may take a little while, but she would love it if you could join her as soon as possible.
Ricky: So it's all set? I'm going to move there?
Brooke: If it's what you want.
Eliot: Final decision's up to you, Ricky.
Ricky: Living with my Aunt Gwen would be the best. She reminds me of my mom, and she's an even better cook. But I'll miss you and Brooke. I mean, it'll be weird not having you guys around.
Brooke: Oh, well, the feeling is mutual.
Ricky: Hawaii. Wow.

Becca: What are you going to do in Alabama?
Tina: I haven't decided if I'm going to go yet.
Becca: You love Adrian, right?
Tina: I love him with all my heart, but all I've ever wanted is a home. I swore that someday I'd belong somewhere, you know, someplace where I could go to a restaurant and get the usual, where my mail would be addressed right to me and not in care of someone else, someplace where I could plant a seed and know that I'd be around to watch it bloom. Pine Valley is that place for me. How can I leave what I've always wanted?
Becca: Nothing is forever, right? Adrian could come back here as soon as his father gets well.
Tina: Adrian said that his father is doing worse than they thought. It could take months for Frank to recover, maybe even longer. His mom is a wreck, his brother -- he's got younger brothers and sisters -- Adrian is not going to leave them until he knows that they're taken care of.
Becca: I don't know many men that would leave everything to help their family.
Tina: I know. It makes me love him even more. But it doesn't make my decision any easier.

[Telephone rings]

Tina: Hello. Yeah, this is Tina. Oh, of course. I'll be right there. I got to run. Thanks for listening.
Becca: Of course. Tina -- follow your heart. You'll make the right choice.
Tina: Thanks.

Palmer: This hospital will not be party to a scandal. I want those culprits flushed out, and I want them punished, and there'll be no mercy, you understand?
Jake: It's personal for me, Palmer, and I'm going to get to the truth.
Nurse: Dr. Martin, I have those X-rays.
Jake: Thank you, thank you. If you'll excuse me.

David: I have to look in on a patient.
Palmer: Not so fast.
David: If you want to see me, Palmer, make an appointment.
Palmer: Oh, this won't take too long. Stay away from my niece.
David: I don't know what you're talking about.
Palmer: If you think I don't know what's going on -- you've been sniffing around my niece for quite some time now. Just keep your paws to yourself.
David: This is none of your damn business, Palmer.
Palmer: I'm chairman of the board of this hospital. Sexual harassment is disgraceful enough, but for you to target my own niece, that's unconscionable.
David: The charges have been dropped and Dixie no longer works for me. Problem solved.
Palmer: All the more reason for you to keep your distance. And if you don't, I'm going to make your life so miserable.

Dixie: Excuse me, Uncle Palmer. I can speak for myself.

Tina: Can you how long has your stomach's been hurting? Since breakfast. Now, what did you eat for breakfast? Ok, she had some eggs, some bacon, and some orange juice. Ok.
Jake: You are good.
Tina: Oh, thank you.
Jake: Really.
Tina: This is Dr. Martin.
Jake: Hi. We're going to run some tests, and we're going to find out what's causing you this pain, ok?
Tina: Ok.
Jake: You know, can you run her down to X-ray for me?
Nurse: Sure.
Jake: And I'm going to be right down there to join you.
Nurse: Ok. This way, Molly.
Tina: Do you want me to wait with you? Ok, I'll be there in a minute.
Nurse: We'll get you a wheelchair.

Jake: So, you're definitely an angel for helping us out on such short notice.
Tina: Oh, well, I'm glad you called me. I thought you had a full-time interpreter.
Jake: Well, we do, we do, but actually she's out on maternity leave, and she's not sure she wants to come back. Dad's ready for a replacement, and you're definitely my first choice. So what do you say?
Tina: Oh. When would I start?
Jake: Immediately, if you could. I mean, I know you have other things going on.
Tina: It's a dream job. I'd be honored to become a part of the hospital.

Palmer: I have to protect you from this womanizer.
Dixie: My goodness, you certainly do not. And I'd ask you to please lower your voice. If you care so much about the reputation of this hospital, you'll keep your voice down and you'll stop listening to rumors and spreading them.
Palmer: Junior was terribly worried. Now, if it's started to affect your family, it has gone too --
Dixie: I talked to Junior. He is fine.
Palmer: And your husband?
Dixie: My marriage is fine. My husband is fine. I would ask you to please give David the respect that he deserves. Do you understand that?
Palmer: This man has compromised you.
Dixie: This man has saved my life more than once. He's a brilliant doctor who does more for the reputation of this hospital and its patients than almost any other physician on the staff.
Palmer: But he --
Dixie: Not another word.
Palmer: Very well, Darling.

[Dixie sighs]

David: Sure you won't let me hire you back as a bodyguard?
Dixie: Wear a Kevlar vest 24/7? No, I don't think so.
David: Hmm. Kevlar. Sounds like a good idea.

Dixie: First Junior, now Uncle Palmer.
David: They're just looking out for you.
Dixie: I know.
David: Dixie, listen to me. I want you to forget everything that I said at your house regarding my feelings for you. I had no right to burden you with any of that. I'm sorry.
Dixie: David, don't be sorry. I'll never forget what you said to me. I don't want to.

Ricky: I owe you guys so much. I don't know how to thank you.
Brooke: Oh.
Ricky: I got to go pack.
Brooke: Oh, listen, when I get home tonight, we'll call and make plane reservations for you.
Ricky: All right. Aloha.
Brooke: Aloha.

Brooke: I'm going to miss him. But I think it's good he's going to be with family. So, I'll call Ricky's aunt and let her know that he's very excited.
Eliot: Good.
Brooke: Oh --
Eliot: Whoops --
Brooke: Oh. That's ok.
Eliot: You ok?
Brooke: Yeah.

Laura's voice: Help! Help me!

Laura: Unbelievable. You'd use anyone and anything, wouldn't you, Eliot?
[Laura slaps Eliot]

Liza: Tell me about Arlene.
Adam: What do you want me to say, that I buried her in the cellar? Maybe I planted her in the rose garden? Why must you always suspect the worst of me?
Liza: Do you really need a list? I am not leaving without an answer.
Adam: I want to spend the rest of our lives together. Every day that we spend not as husband and wife, every day without Colby, without a family is a day that's lost. What I'm trying to do --
Liza: Stop. Stop. I don't doubt your love for me. I don't. And compared to switching sperm and blowing up buildings, this is a relatively minor offense. I don't doubt your love for me. But I do want you to be honest with me.
Adam: All right. We both want the same thing -- to be together. That's what I'm trying to accomplish here.
Liza: But not at any cost. I do not want a marriage with secrets, Adam. Before, all I wanted to do was change you. I wanted to make you better. But I don't want to do that. I love you just the way you are. I don't want to change you. But I do want to know that I can trust you. Otherwise, how do we have a future together? You have to tell me. Tell me the truth about Arlene.
Adam: When I lied to you before, I lost everything -- you, our marriage, our child. I don't think I could stand it if you walk out of my life again.
Liza: So tell me.
Adam: If I tell you, I may lose you forever.
Liza: My god. What is it? What happened to Arlene?

Bianca: Where is Laura?
Greenlee: She went to cry on her mother's shoulder.
Leo: Excuse us!
Boy: Sorry, man. I didn't --
Leo: Excuse me. Do you mind?
Greenlee: You're not going to cave, are you?
Bianca: I told you that I wouldn't tell.
Greenlee: Good. I'd hate to break the news to Erica that her daughter marches to a different beat -- huh! -- In combat boots.
Bianca: Greenlee, your secret is safe, ok? Leo has no idea that you're the one who really pushed Laura.
Greenlee: You better keep it that way.

Brooke: Laura!
Laura: Who the hell do you think you are?
Brooke: Laura, what has gotten into you?
Laura: How could you be so low? You are warped!
Brooke: Laura!
Eliot: You want to fill me in?
Laura: Yeah. This whole Superman bit -- it is so obvious. You protected my mom from Ricky's big bad daddy. And then you jumped in the water at Ryan's party to save me. Oh, how brave. What a man. Who do you think you're kidding?
Brooke: Laura, you are out of line.
Laura: Mom, I remember what happened. I was pushed overboard. It was you, wasn't it?
Eliot: What?
Laura: You shoved me in the water so you could play hero.

David: I was wrong, Dixie, for what I said. I wasn't thinking.
Dixie: Is that why you left without saying good-bye?
David: I was embarrassed.
Dixie: Well, I think that it takes real courage to tell people that you care for them.
David: Only you would say something like that.
Dixie: You know, you -- I think it's all right to let people know that you need them. You took a chance, you know? You showed me your heart.
David: You make things that seemed impossible to do easy.
Dixie: I know your secret.
David: You do, huh?
Dixie: I think that you have a tremendous ability to love and to be loved. And I think because of Vanessa, you decided that it's easier to let everybody think that you're a heartless jerk. But I also think that you'd go to any lengths not to let anybody see what you're feeling -- or to feel anything at all.
David: Until now.
Dixie: Well, maybe -- maybe you're ready to follow your heart for a while. And that's great, you know? If you do, maybe it'll lead you to a woman that you can love completely, who'll love you the way you deserve to be loved.
David: Dixie, who is that woman?

Adam: The truth is Arlene is not in Monte Carlo.
Liza: So where is she?
Adam: The night of the incredibledreams.com party --
Liza: She was on the yacht.
Adam: Yes. She found Mateo drugged in a stateroom and tried to seduce him.
Liza: My God.
Adam: Hayley caught them in bed together.
Liza: What did Hayley do?
Adam: She strangled her mother.
Liza: No.
Adam: I found the body, and I threw it overboard. Arlene's never coming back.

ON THE NEXT - - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Greenlee: Did you go and tell Laura you knew you pushed her?

Junior: You can stop being nice to him. You don't work for him anymore.

Liza: I wanted a relationship with you built on truth.
Adam: I've told you the truth. Are we partners?
