ALL MY CHILDREN

DECEMBER 4, 2000

Ryan: You know what's crazy?
Gillian: What?
Ryan: This is exactly what I've been dreaming about.
Gillian: What, letting our food get cold?
Ryan: Just sitting here in a restaurant with my girl, feeling like there's nowhere on earth I would rather be, letting our food get cold.
Jake: How you doing?
Ryan: You ok?
Gillian: Yeah, I'm fine. You know, maybe we should just go somewhere else.
Ryan: You know what? I really don't think that's a good idea. We live in the same town, Gillian.
Gillian: Well, then let's just pretend that we didn't see him because he didn't see us.
Ryan: I was in the back hiding for months, watching you slip away from me. I can't do that anymore. I'm going to go talk to him, but I'll keep it strictly business and I won't be long, ok?

Mateo: I just -- I just heard the whole thing.
Adam: I don't know what you think you heard.
Mateo: You just paid some guy off to keep his mouth shut about finding Arlene's purse.
Adam: Well, of course I did. I have a company name to protect here, Mateo. It's bad enough I have to run interference every time Arlene has one of her alcoholic outbursts. Do I have to explain who I'm defending?
Mateo: You're protecting yourself.
Adam: Arlene was probably leaning over the railing of the yacht retching when she dropped her purse in the water. I gave the man a few dollars so your wife wouldn't have to defend herself on live TV against her horrible excuse for a mother, all right?
Mateo: No. No, it's not all right. What happened to Arlene?

Tad: Leslie, what are you doing here?
Leslie: I knew I'd catch you alone.
Tad: How would you know that? Where's Dixie?
Leslie: Does it matter?
Tad: Of course it does. What are you -- what?
Leslie: Tad, I didn't lock your wife in the supply closet. The room was empty when I got here.
Tad: Why exactly did you get here?
Leslie: I have a surprise.
Tad: What?
Leslie: I have a surprise for you. Do you want to see it?
Dixie: I would.

Erica: Bianca, what has this horrible girl done to you?
Bianca: Nothing, Mom. Please, she's -- Sarah di
dn't do anything to me, ok? Erica: Well, we walked in on something, didn't we? Don't defend her. What happened between the two of you?
Bianca: Uncle Jack, what -- what are you doing here?
Jack: We were worried about you. A friend from school told your mother that you took off for New York. You didn't tell anybody and you left all alone.
Erica: And when we realized that you may have come to New York in search of Sarah, then we checked the caller ID box and we realized that you had erased all the numbers. Bianca, why would you do that?
Bianca: How did you find us?
Erica: I spoke to Sarah's mother.
Sarah: You spoke to my mom?
Erica: Yes, I did. She was extremely rude. She said terrible things about you.
Sarah: What did she say?
Erica: She said ridiculous things. She said that my daughter had been a bad influence on you. But since you're the one who called my underage daughter and lured her to your hotel room in New York, I have a very different opinion as to who is influencing whom.
Bianca: Mom, let's just go, please.
Erica: No, not until you answer my question. Bianca?
Bianca: What question? Mom, I came to see Sarah. I didn't ask permission. I'm sorry. Can we just forget about it?
Erica: Bianca, you are 16 years old, and you are standing in a strange hotel room shaking like a leaf. Obviously something this girl has said to you or done to you has made you so upset. Now, I want to know what she did to you to make you so upset. Am I clear?
Jack: I'll tell you what. Why don't we sort all this out on the drive back to Pine Valley?
Erica: No, Jack.
Bianca, I want to know what you're hiding from me and why.
Bianca: Mom, just let it go. Please --
Erica: Let what go? Let what go? Why did you lie to me? Why did you run away from home?
Bianca: I didn't run away.
Erica: You came all the way to New York by yourself so that you could meet up with this -- what is so important about this girl, Bianca? Tell me. Bianca, I've never seen you in such a state.
Bianca: I'm not in a state! God, you're the one that's freaking out.
Erica: Jack?
Bianca: Erica, why don't we just go home now.
Erica: Bianca, you have got to confide in me. You've got to trust me, Honey.
Bianca: Mom, what do you want me to do? I --
Erica: Mrs. Livingston told me that she never wanted you to go near her daughter again. Now, why would anyone say such terrible things about my beautiful, lovely daughter? Why?

Tad: Sweetheart, I was so worried. When I got here, you were gone.
Dixie: Oh, I'm ok. David just wanted to run some more tests.
Tad: What did they say?
Dixie: That I'm doing much better. So, what kind of surprise did you bring for Tad, Leslie?
Leslie: Actually, it's for you, Dixie. See, a magazine and --
Dixie: Oh.
Leslie: Some chocolates for a girl who's confined to her bed.
Dixie: That is so sweet. Wow, I tell you, I thought I was going to lose my mind if I had to watch one more cooking show while they fed me my low-fat, no-taste, low-salt diet. Blah. Isn't that sweet, Honey?
Tad: Yeah.
Leslie: Oh, it was nothing. It's the least I could do.
Dixie: What do you mean?
Leslie: Well, Tad did something for me.
Tad: Leslie.
Leslie: I don't know what I would've done without him.
Dixie: Really?
Leslie: He helped me with a client.
Dixie: Well, I didn't know that. You never mentioned that.
Leslie: I can't believe that. Tad, why didn't you tell Dixie how you came to my rescue?

Jake: So what do you want, Ryan?
Ryan: I just want to clear a few things up with you.
Jake: You know what? I just ordered some takeout here, and I'm getting ready to take off myself, so I don't have time to talk.
Ryan: Gillian and I just want to be sure --
Jake: You don't need to talk for Gillian.
Ryan: She's here, Jake.
Ryan: Look, we live in the same town, ok? This is bound to happen a lot. We just want to be sure --
Jake: You want to be sure that what? You want to be sure I don't make a scene?
Ryan: No, Jake.
Jake: Well, I tell you what, Ryan. In the future, all right -- the next time we have one of these little chance occurrences here, why don't you just ignore me, and I'll do the same favor for you.
Ryan: I just don't want this to interfere with the work you're doing for the pregnant teens, that's all.
Jake: Wait a minute. You don't want it to interfere with what?
Ryan: I've got a check for you. I've got a check for the money we raised at the yacht party.
Jake: Ok, well, just send it to my office.
Ryan: Ok.
Jake: You know what? I just ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I don't know what's taking so long.
Ryan: I think you're going to be very pleased with the amount of money we raised, Jake. Look, and I was thinking about making this an annual event.
Jake: You know what, Ryan? I don't really give a damn how much money you think you're going to raise. I'm never signing off on another event with you again.

Adam: I don't know what you're trying to insinuate, Mateo.
Mateo: It just doesn't make any sense. Arlene finally has something to hold over Hayley, and she just runs away?
Adam: Hayley -- Arlene -- remember who we're talking about here. She's a loose cannon. Nothing she does or says should surprise you.
Mateo: Nothing except just disappearing right in the thick of battle. You'd have to admit that's out of character for her.

Adam: Hayley. Feeling any better?
Hayley: Well, I don't know. I splashed some cold water on my face, and I looked at myself in the mirror, and the funny thing is that all I can see are Arlene's eyes staring back at me as I was strangling her.
Adam: Sweetheart, you didn't strangle Arlene. Not to death, anyway. The letters prove that. Ok? She's a tough old bird. We know that all too well, don't we?
Hayley: I just -- I can't figure it out. Why -- even if she could get up and walk away after what I did -- why? Why would she do that? She would come gunning for me. She would come gunning for all of us. And to just get up and take off, and to Europe, no less? My mother's idea of a good time is a gin and tonic in Reno.
Adam: Yes, it is. Look, I have a wonderful idea. Being with a child always puts things in perspective. Colby would love to see you. Why don't you go get one of her stuffed animals, take it down to the gatehouse. Liza won't be putting her to bed for another hour or so.
Hayley: You know, I would like that.
Adam: Yeah.
Hayley: You don't mind if we hang for a little bit?
Mateo: No, no, go ahead. And get that elephant -- the stuffed elephant that Colby loves.
Hayley: Right. I won't be too long.

Mateo: Ok. So, why'd you hide the purse?
Adam: What are you doing?
Mateo: Why were you hiding the purse when she came in?
Adam: You would've done the same thing, Mateo. I know you would. Here.
Mateo: Now, where did Arlene say she was in that letter?
Adam: She didn't say.
Mateo: Uh-huh.
Adam: The package
came from Amsterdam. Mateo: Right. I see.
Adam: What do you mean? What do you see?
Mateo: Don't you think it'd be a little hard to clear customs without her passport?
Adam: Arlene has made a living getting through more difficult obstacles than European customs. I'm sure if anyone could get by without a passport, it would be Arlene.
Mateo: Who do you think you're talking to -- Colby?
Adam: I have no idea where Arlene is -- no more idea than the rest of you.
Mateo: Because of her letter.
Adam: Yes, because of the letter.
Mateo: Adam, anyone could have written that letter and then signed Arlene's name on it.
Adam: Why would someone want to do that?
Mateo: Exactly. That's why I think we should compare --
Adam: What? What are you comparing?
Mateo: The signature on the letter to the signature on the passport. It's only fair.
Adam: You're trying to make this even more difficult for Hayley than it already is, is that it?
Mateo: You're right. I don't want to do that.
Adam: Good. What are you doing?
Mateo: Calling the police. Sometimes it's better left in their hands. What's wrong, Adam? What don't you want the police to find out about your wife?

Ryan: Jake, this is not about Gillian and me.
Jake: I'm not discussing Gillian with you, Ryan.
Ryan: Look, Jake, I'm trying to propose a way for you and I to work together on this charity in the future, and you're making this into something personal.
Jake: You know, do you actually expect me to think that there's altruism in your proposal?
Ryan: It's a good cause. That's all I'm trying to say.
Jake: You know what, my friend? You have very selective memory. You're the one who came to me and told me yourself that you wanted to do this fundraiser because you wanted some good press for your company before it goes public. Well, looks like your plan backfired.
Ryan: Backfired? What?
Jake: Are you unaware that a number of your guests ended up in the ER that night?
Ryan: No, I -- I know about that, and I plan to call each and every one of them personally once I find out what it was that caused that.
Jake: Oh, ok. So a phone call from Ryan Lavery's going to make it all ok, huh?
Ryan: I'm getting to the bottom of it, Jake. But that is certainly not enough to prevent me from staging another fundraiser.
Jake: Well, it should be. So, what's your explanation for what happened that night? Ryan: I'm guessing it was food poisoning, but I'm told that the lab reports don't confirm that.
Jake: Well, let me tell you something. I've had food poisoning, and I had a reaction that night, and it sure as hell wasn't food poisoning.
Ryan: Look, I was also told that everybody reacted very differently.
Jake: My sister-in-law Dixie had an abnormal coronary reaction. Now, you don't get that kind of thing from bad oysters.

Tad: Leslie's just exaggerating, Sweetheart. All I did was smooth things over with a client. It wasn't a big deal.
Leslie: Oh, yes, it was. Don't let him fool you, Dixie.
Tad: Baby, why don't you come here and why don't we tuck you in again, ok?
Dixie: Oh, don't baby me. I'm feeling much better.
Tad: I'm not babying you. It's my prerogative, ok? My favorite thing in life is your husband. You need any plows or extra Jell-O? I got an in with the chief of staff.
Dixie: That's so sweet.

David: All settled? Leslie. It's good to see you.
Leslie: David.
Tad: Dixie says you ran some more tests?
David: I did. She's a symptomatic.
Tad: Which is another way of saying she's all clear, right?
David: Yes, it is, but I would like her to stay for one more night. Just to be sure.
Dixie: It's just this one-more-night thing, it's killing me. I'd really like to go home and sleep in my own bed.
Tad: Well, he's your doctor and he knows what he's doing. He says you should stick around for another night of observation. I think you should listen to him.
Leslie: Well, it's really none of my business, but I agree.
Tad: Listen, I'm going to miss you like crazy, but I do think it's for the best.
Dixie: All right. Well, I just -- I don't know. I feel terrible. The boys are going to be at Brooke's, and you'll be all alone.

Bianca: I'm warning you. I'm warning you.
Erica: Excuse me?
Bianca: Don't push this. Don't push this!
Erica: Good God, Bianca! What have these people done to you? Don't defend them! Why did Mrs. Livingston say that you're a bad influence on her daughter?
Jack: Erica, let's not do this here.
Erica: Bianca, please tell me. Please, Honey, so I can fix it. Is this all because of this boy she stole from you?
Bianca: Oh, God! Stop it, ok? Just drop it!
Erica: No, I'm not going to drop anything, do you understand me? I want an explanation, and I want it now.
Sarah: Fine, fine. I'll tell you everything. Sarah: Miss Kane -- I --

[Knock on door]

Ian: Hi.
Sarah: Hi.
Ian: I wanted to make sure I wasn't interrupting anything.
Sarah: No, no. No, everything's fine.
Ian: Is everything ok in here?
Sarah: Yeah, everything's -- everything's fine.
Erica: And -- and who is this?
Sarah: Um, this is my fiancé, Ian Kipling.
Ian: Hi.
Sarah: That's what I've been trying to tell you.
Erica: Your -- your fiancé?
Sarah: Yes. I'm going to tell you the truth because I think you're entitled to that. Ian and I -- we've known each other since we were kids. Our families are really close, and our parents have been planning this marriage practically since we were born. The problem is -- the problem is that, um, my mom doesn't want Bianca at the wedding.
Erica: She what?
Sarah: My mom, she's very old-fashioned, and she's very concerned with propriety
. Ian: Sarah, what's this about?
Sarah: I -- I've been keeping it to myself because it embarrasses me. My mother doesn't want to accept that I had a problem -- that I was in the hospital with an eating disorder. And she thinks that if Bianca comes to the wedding -- being the daughter of a celebrity, someone as high-profile as you, Miss Kane, that -- that people will start to ask questions, and my secret will be revealed, and my family will be disgraced.
Erica: Disgraced? Because you were ill?
Sarah: It's a difficult thing for me to come to terms with -- my mother not -- not accepting who I am. But that's why I tried to reach Bianca yesterday -- because I wanted to tell her how sorry I was for hurting her so much. I'm so sorry, Bianca. I'm so sorry. If I had control over this, I would change it. I would. But I can't. I can't. I never can.

Tad: I'm going to be fine by myself, ok?
Dixie: Sure you are. You have no idea what he's like when I'm not there to supervise.
Leslie: Really?
Dixie: Oh, yeah. He stands at the counter and just eats anything and everything that has no nutritional value whatsoever.
Tad: Too much information, Sweetie. Thank you. Thank you very much. I'll get a real meal, I promise, ok?
Leslie: Well, I can help you out there. I would be happy to take your husband out for a meal. I mean, I still owe him for helping me out with that client.
Tad: Well, actually, I was planning on relaxing, watching a Sixers game with a pizza and some beer, but thanks for the offer.
Dixie: Don't do that. Don't do the pizza and beer thing. Go out and have a real meal. Eat some greens or something, huh? For me?
Leslie: You heard the wife. B.J.'S for burgers, and you can choke down a salad. Is that ok with you?
Dixie: That'd be great. That'd make me feel really good knowing you two are together. Ok, Honey?

Ryan: I'm sorry about Dixie. Is she ok? I know she's had heart problems before.
Jake: Well, thank God, Dixie's going to be fine. But don't ever expect me to sign on for another one of your fundraisers again, Ryan, because it's not going to happen.

Gordon: I'm picking up an order for Feimster.
Ryan: Excuse me.
Gordon: Yes? Oh -- Mr. Lavery.
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Listen, you work at Pine Valley Hospital, right?
Gordon: Yeah.
Ryan: Yeah, well, listen, I was wondering about --
Gordon: Your guests -- the ones that got sick on the yacht.
Ryan: Yeah, actually.
Gordon: Yeah. No, they're fine. I mean, that's what I hear is that -- I think most of them have been released.
Ryan: Oh, great. Ok.
Gordon: Thank you.
Ryan: I'm very relieved.
Jake: Trying to ease your conscience, Ryan?
Ryan: Are you blaming me for this?
Jake: You need to get your responsibilities in order. Thank you. I'll tell you something. Somebody's responsible for what happened that night at that party. You need to stand up and be man about it.

Adam: Mateo, leave this alone. You won't like where it's going.
Mateo: Adam, I already hate where it's going. My wife wakes up, she has nightmares, she -- she feels guilty. She -- her sobriety's on the line. If you don't think I'm going to get the truth to protect her, you're crazy.
Adam: She killed Arlene. Hayley killed her mother.
Adam: Hayley strangled her mother on the deck of that yacht. I came in just as it ended. She was standing over the body. She was in shock. She panicked and ran away. She never saw me.
Mateo: What happened to the body?
Adam: I went over to Arlene's body. I felt for a pulse. There was nothing.
Mateo: Oh, man.
Adam: I looked down at that woman and I thought -- I've pictured her dead so many times over the years and all I could think of was that Hayley was going to go to prison for doing something that I should have done a long time ago. I couldn't allow that to happen to my daughter. I had to do something. I owed her that much. So I picked up Arlene's body, and I threw it overboard. And then I picked this purse up and chucked it after her.
Mateo: If they found the purse, then they'll find the body, Adam.
Adam: Maybe not.
Mateo: They're going to find the body.
Adam: Ok, all right, then. They'll make a toxicologist's report.
Mateo: Wait, wait, wait --
Adam: They'll find out that she'd been drinking, they'll think she hit her head and fell in --
Mateo: No, no, no. The coroner's going to know she died before she hit the water because there's not going to be any water in her lungs.
Adam: They have to find her first. And until they do -- maybe they won't.
Mateo: I'm going to call the police because if we go forward now, then she can say it was self-defense.
Adam: No, no, what are you saying? What are you saying? Are you out of your mind?
Mateo: I'm going to go talk to Hayley.
Adam: No. No! No.

Ryan: Well, Jake wants nothing to do with us.
Gillian: I'm not surprised.
Ryan: No, neither am I, but I tried to talk to him about -- you know, about the money that I helped him raise at the yacht party, but he just, you know, shut me down.
Gillian: What do you mean?
Ryan: He's very close to believing that I am personally responsible for everybody getting sick on that boat.
Gillian: What? Oh -- oh, come on, Ryan. That is ridiculous. I mean, that was food poisoning or something. How can Jake -- I know what it is. He's blaming you for all these people getting sick because that's easier than blaming me for leaving him.
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, I was kind of thinking that.
Gillian: We knew he'd be hurt, but -- you know, we --
Ryan: "We" -- we had to be together.
Gillian: That's right. I just -- I don't want him walking around town spreading all these vicious lies about you because that's just not right. And -- and it can't be that good for your professional life, either. incredibledreams.com is about to go public.
Ryan: Well, I don't want you to worry about it. Ok? And I don't want you to defend me to him because it's not going to make him hate me any less. And it's just going to upset you. So, why don't you let me worry about my reputation and why don't you let me worry about you. Ok?

Leslie: Is this ok?
Tad: That's fine. The evening just keeps getting better and better. At least I know where to send the check.
Tad: What? Look, Leslie, this -- this cannot happen again.
Leslie: What, dinner?
Tad: Please don't be coy. I know you better than that.
Leslie: Yes, you do.
Tad: And I think I've been relatively clear about where I stand.
Leslie: I'm a big girl, Tad. You don't have to worry about hurting my feelings.
Tad: I'm not worried about hurting your feelings. I just want you to understand. You've got to understand what happened between the two of us -- I mean, it can't -- it couldn't -- I mean, even if --
Leslie: Tad, will you just relax? Ok, this is just dinner, sanctioned by your wife. Really and truly.
Tad: Ok. Hi.
Waiter: Hi. Here you go. Can I get you folks something to drink?
Leslie: Champagne.
Waiter: Hmm, good.
Tad: Champagne? Why? This isn't exactly the Valley Inn. I mean --
Leslie: I feel like celebrating. Champagne.
Waiter: Very good. And you, sir?
Tad: Water. Water's fine.
Leslie: Ahem.
Tad: What are you celebrating?
Leslie: Well, I may be getting ahead of myself. It's for what I hope you're going to tell me when I ask you something.
Tad: Ok.
Leslie: Well, it's probably -- I'm probably a little late in bringing this up, but I've been thinking about it, and, um -- oh, this is awkward.

[Leslie sighs]

Tad: Why don't you just spit it out.
Leslie: Well, it's not something that I usually take for granted, but, you know, what happened between us was so spontaneous that --
Tad: Leslie, what is it that you usually don't take for granted?
Leslie: Protection. I mean, I'm very careful always -- u have to be -- but, well, we didn't exactly have safe sex the other night. Is there anything I should be worried about?
Tad: Oh, my God. Dixie. What about me? I mean, is there something that I should know about?

Dixie: Still ticking?
David: Seems to be.
Dixie: That's good. Is there something else?
David: Actually, I have kind of a personal question to ask you.
Dixie: Oh. Oh.
David: Do you mind if I ask?
Dixie: I don't know. I won't know until you do.
David: You don't mind that Tad is going out to dinner with a beautiful woman like Leslie Coulson?
Dixie: Well, after what happened between us, I really don't think I can win on that one.
David: Yeah, I see your point.
Dixie: Is everything ok?
David: Oh, with you? Oh, absolutely. I just want to keep you here for one more night to rest -- not so that you'll go home and cook, clean, and worry about everybody else for the night.
Dixie: Oh, jeez, thanks! You make me sound like a scullery maid.
David: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that.
Dixie: It's ok. I'll stay here. I will rest. I will get one more night of sleep.
David: Doctor's orders.

Jake: Gordon.
Gordon: Dr. Martin.
Jake: Hey, can I pick your brain for a minute?
Gordon: Sure.
Jake: You were the lab tech on duty the night that all the people came in from the yacht party in the ER, right?
Gordon: Uh, yeah.
Jake: Yeah, I thought you were. I -- I went through every one of those blood tests, and I didn't see anything abnormal with any of them.
Gordon: Right, yes, that's right.
Jake: Hmm. Well, tell me something, Gordon -- what do you think made all those people ill that night?

Erica: Of all the small-minded, ignorant, limited, mean-spirited attitudes! I mean, doesn't your mother understand that anorexia is a disease, it's not a choice? I mean, Bianca couldn't -- couldn't help being ill any more than you can. I love my daughter. She's beautiful and kind and loving and human. Doesn't your mother feel that way about you?
Sarah: Honestly, I don't know.
Erica: Well, I think that's horrible. I'm sorry, I can't have your mother's kind of negativity around my daughter ever again. I have to protect my daughter do you understand that, Sarah? And if that means that you can never be around my daughter again or come near her, then so be it.

Jack: Please listen to me. Please, Bianca, look at me. Look at me. Please. Now, I know I'm not your father. I know at best I'm a damn poor substitute, but I love you. I love you so much. I couldn't love you more if you were my own daughter. You can tell me anything -- anything at all because no matter what you say to me, no matter what you tell me, I will always be there for you until the day I die, and there is nothing in this whole wide world that you could tell me that would ever change that. Nothing. Because, kiddo, I'm on your side. No matter what. Ok?
Bianca: I wish that mom could be more like you, Uncle Jack.
Jack: Maybe she is. But you've got to give her a chance.

Erica: My daughter a bad influence? No, that label is reserved for your mother, Sarah, and you can tell your mother that I said that. Look, just so we understand each other, Sarah, never again. Never call or come near Bianca ever again. Oh, baby. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that this happened.

Ryan: Let's start over. Gillian: You mean dinner?

[Gillian laughs]

Ryan: No. No, no, no, no. I mean us. Now, I know it's -- I know it's kind of soon, but, um, I can't wait. And, uh, I can't pretend that you're not my life. And I don't want you to spend another minute without -- without a constant reminder of my love and my commitment to you.
Gillian: Ryan.
Ryan: Now, I know I gave you one this summer. I know. But we -- we lost time. So -- this one's forever.

Leslie: Look, I'm sure that everything will be fine, but just to be safe, we both should probably be tested.
Tad: I -- I just never even thought about it.
Leslie: Well, you're married. I mean, I'm guessing that this isn't something you've had to deal with in a while.
Tad: You guessed right.
Leslie: Well, I'm glad that you don't do this sort of thing often.
Tad: I never do this kind of thing. I told you. Not anymore.
Leslie: Look -- look, it's ok. I mean, I haven't been so caught up in the moment that I haven't thought about using protection. But you had that effect on me. I mean, in the throes of passion, I'm not really thinking about STD's are you? Listen, we'll go together, ok? And we'll go someplace other than Pine Valley Hospital, ok?
Tad: Yeah. Sure.
Leslie: All right, I'll make an appointment at Seaview for the both of us. Ok?
Tad: Ok.
Waiter: Ready to order?
Tad: Uh, nothing for me, thanks. I've suddenly lost my appetite.
Leslie: Really? I'm starving! And you'd better eat something because I promised your wife that I would feed you. We don't want to make her cross.

Dixie: Hey, David? Thank you. You really take good care of me.
David: I'm happy I can, Dixie.

Gordon: I have no explanation for that, Dr. Martin. I'm stumped by that.
Jake: Yeah, yeah, so am I because I had a reaction to something I had at the party myself.
Gordon: Did you?
Jake: Mm-hmm. So I sent my blood work out for some independent evaluation. You know what they found? Libidozone. It's a brand-new drug that hasn't yet been approved by the FDA. It's used to treat impotency.
Gordon: Huh -- uh -- ahem. Wow.
Jake: Yeah. Yeah. Because people who were in the ER that night had reported some of the same side effects that were under the same classification as this drug Libidozone. It's pretty amazing, huh? Because none of us took it willingly, and yet you're saying you didn't see any other traces in anyone's blood work?
Gordon: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean, not -- you know, I wouldn't know what to look for if it hasn't been on the market yet, so --
Jake: Well, exactly, exactly. But you would have seen something abnormal, right?
Gordon: You'd think, yeah.
Jake: Huh. Well, why would I have it in my blood and no one else with the same symptoms would have it in theirs?

Mateo: I'm going to tell Hayley.
Adam: Mateo, you can't! We've almost got her believing it was a bad dream. That letter will help get us through the worst part of it. Hayley: What is Mateo responsible for?
