Laura: I got a loft space.
Brooke: A loft space near
Greenlee's neighborhood?
Laura: In the same building.
Anna: If you want to continue
on with me, I'm not going
to stand around and watch
you fawning over Dixie.
Greenlee: I've sucked up
to you far too long to walk out
of here without telling you what
I really think of the legendary
Erica Kane.
TODAY'S - - - ALL MY CHILDREN
Anna: Hi.
Have you seen Dr. David Hayward?
Oh --
Jake: Hello, Anna.
Anna: Hi, Jake.
Is David up to his elbows
in someone's chest cavity or --
Jake: Right over there.
Anna: Great. Thanks.
Nice outfit.
Ok, have you listened to
the 90,000 messages I've left
you or have you just lost
my number?
My God.
You're exhausted.
David: I worked all night.
Anna: Can you go home now?
David: What?
Anna: Can you go home now?
David: Oh.
Yeah.
There's nothing keeping me here,
that's for sure.
Anna: All right, come on.
I'll drive you back
to the Valley Inn.
David: Feeling brave,
are you, Devane?
Anna: Why should I be?
David: Because people
in my life tend to die.
Jack: Chris, thanks
for coming over.
Chris: Look, if you're
looking for us to plead down --
Jack: Actually, the only
offer on the table right now is
that of a chair --
Chris: Thank you.
Jack: If you care to take
one.
Chris: Thank you.
Jack: I promise I won't waste
your time.
Chris: Well, glad to hear it.
Jack: Well, after all,
you are the busiest man
in Pine Valley.
Just how many jobs have you had
since you hit town, Chris?
Chris: You're not supposed
to waste my time, remember?
Jack: Fair enough.
We'll cut to the chase.
Here's what I know --
you're an undercover
FBI agent working
on a drug case.
What I'd like to know is about
your newest job as Erica's
defense lawyer.
Are you really fully capable
of defending her, or is this
just another move to catch
the drug lord?
Erica: If you don't leave
right now, I will press charges.
Greenlee: You'll have
to listen to me first.
Erica: No, I certainly do
not!
Leo: Greenlee, does this
strike you as a good career
move?
Greenlee: I know what I'm
doing here, Leo.
Leo: You're driving the poor
woman crazy.
Let's just get out of here
and go back to your place.
You don't need this.
Erica: Neither do I.
Greenlee: You can go, Leo.
I'll catch up with you.
Erica and I should take care
of this privately.
Leo: Fine.
Have it your way.
Erica: Hello, security?
Is this really worth jail time?
Greenlee: Erica, if you throw
me out of here, you'll have
another death on your hands.
Erica: I don't respond
to threats.
Using a young girl's death
to get my attention -- that is
despicable.
Greenlee: Erica, if you pull
the plug on me, Enchantment will
suffer.
The negative publicity
from your arrest and trial could
kill our -- your company.
That's what I was trying to get
across.
Erica: Seems to me that I was
trying to get across to you
a very similar concept not too
long ago.
Greenlee: I got busted
for crashing a party wearing
a gorilla suit.
Erica: Oh, please don't spin
it for yourself, ok?
You got busted because you were
stalking and harassing.
Greenlee: It's still a far
cry from murder.
Ok, maybe you were right to fire
me, but when Enchantment needed
me, I was here for the company.
Erica: No, you were just
inflating your own ego as usual
and trying to grab power.
Greenlee: You're more than
Enchantment's CEO
Enchantment is your creation,
your child, your love.
You have every right to be
possessive and incredibly proud.
Erica: Oh, thank you.
Greenlee: I'm proud of what
I've done in here, and it's
nothing compared to what you've
accomplished.
Erica: That's an
understatement.
Greenlee: But, Erica, as far
as the Lacey's account was
concerned, we had already lost
it.
I managed a marketing ploy that
made us viable again.
Yeah, some said it was
outrageous, maybe even shocking.
Erica: Yeah, because it was
in the worst possible taste.
Greenlee: Sure, it's edgy,
but it's fresh.
It grabbed the attention
of the demographic we want.
Erica: No, Greenlee, it was
not edgy.
It was over the edge.
You may as well have just
printed "Erica Kane,
guilty of glamour in the first
degree."
Greenlee: See?
That's perfect.
Erica: I'm joking, Greenlee.
And if you ask somebody who
really worked here, they would
tell you that.
Greenlee: Yeah, well,
none of them have the vision
to do what had to be done.
I was the only person here
capable of handling the Lacey's
account, except for you,
and you were indisposed.
I saved Enchantment millions
of dollars.
I'm not winning over
our customers by batting
my eyelashes or simpering
"poor us."
I say spin it, shove it
into the spotlight, and use
our misfortune to our own
advantage.
I wanted to help take
Enchantment further
by maintaining and managing
your creation.
Erica: I guess this is going
to come as a big shock to you,
Greenlee, but I don't need
you to do that.
I fired you.
You're not even here.
Greenlee: You know,
Erica, I've envied all that
you've created here.
But you understand that, right?
Erica: Yeah, of course
I understand that, but that's
no excuse --
Greenlee: When I came here,
I wanted part of it for myself,
so I set out to compete.
Erica: No kidding.
Greenlee: But it didn't take
me long to discover that
you were in a class of your own,
a class you created.
No one can compete with
you and succeed.
Erica: Go on.
Greenlee: There is and always
will be only one Erica Kane.
But that doesn't mean that I'm
not valuable, too.
Erica: Well, no,
of -- of course not.
I mean, that's never been
the issue here.
Greenlee: I can be useful,
Erica, especially during this
time of crisis.
I have proven that, and I don't
want to walk away from what I've
started.
I would be so honored if you'd
let me continue here.
Erica: Stop right there.
Take your heel off my face.
[Greenlee removes her foot from the poster of Erica on the floor]
Greenlee: Oh. Sorry.
I'm sorry.
Erica: Thank you.
Now, come back over here and sit
down.
Chris: Just face it,
Jackson -- I'm Erica's choice.
And you're going to be
in the ring with me, not some
wimp who's paid to give a damn.
And as far as Erica's future
goes, it's intensely personal
with me.
Jack: And, see, this is
exactly what I'm talking about.
It seems to me like you're more
concerned with inflating
your ego than you are defending
your client.
Chris: Look, look, look,
please, just save the
"justice for all" speech, ok?
This is about Erica and Erica
only and the fact you never
getting over losing her.
Jack: Is that what she told
you, Chris?
Well, just for the record,
I'm the one that walked out
on the relationship, not her.
But that's not what's at issue
here.
What's at issue here is you.
I don't trust you, Chris.
I never have.
Even Erica had her point in time
where she had her suspicions.
You do know she had me check
you out?
Chris: Did you have fun?
Jack: I might have,
if you didn't have so damn much
to hide.
[Answering machine beeps]
Pat's voice: Hey,
Jake, it's Pat Trowbridge.
Just returning your phone call.
I'll talk to you soon.
[Beep]
Greenlee's voice: Jake, it's Greenlee.
I know you don't care and I'm
not sure why I care enough
to tell you, but I just pulled
off a miracle today!
[Greenlee sighs]
[Beep]
Jake: Way to go, Greenlee.
Anna: How long is this silent
treatment going to last?
A girl could get a complex.
Anna: All right.
Forget what I said about Dixie.
I take it back.
I'm sorry.
I am profoundly, deeply sorry.
If you still have a thing about
her --
David: I don't want to talk
about Dixie right now, please.
Anna: Good.
Neither do I.
David: That bit you said earlier about
to the parents of a young
patient of mine.
I had to tell them that
their son didn't make it.
Anna: The patient you were
working on all night?
David: Mm-hmm.
Anna: Oh, God.
Well, you did everything
you could, right?
David: Yeah, obviously not
enough.
Anna: What more can you ask
of yourself?
David: Oh, I don't know.
How about success?
Jonathan was 23 years old.
Do you remember 23?
Your dreams, your ambitions?
Anna: He had the best doctor
he could hope for.
David: Yeah.
A lot of good it did him, right?
Right before he went under,
I told him that I will save him.
He gave me this.
It's his father's good luck
charm.
The old guy carried it around
him for 30 years before his son
was born.
I told him we couldn't miss.
Anna: I don't know what
to say.
I don't know what to say.
David: I tried to give it
back to his father when I broke
the news, but he wants me
to keep it.
Well I guess he knows the luck
has run out.
Anna: No.
Maybe he wants you to have it
because of how hard you tried
to save his son.
David: That kid should be
alive.
Anna: Oh, God -- you can't
control the variables
in an operating room.
You know that.
David: Thank you for getting
me home.
I'll call you.
Anna: You want me to leave?
David: I just need some rest.
Anna: Yeah, but not alone.
Not today of all days.
David: So you found out?
Jake: Is there something
I can do for you?
Leo: Uh, yeah.
I don't have a key and
Greenlee's not home,
so I thought you still might
have a key to her place.
Jake: Oh.
You know, I returned mine, Leo.
Leo: Ok.
Jake: Wait.
Leo: Yeah?
Jake: Our spare.
Leo: Thanks.
Jake: Hang on to it.
Leo: Oh, I will.
Jake, I just -- I just want
to thank you for looking after
Greenlee while we were split up.
But that's not going to be
necessary anymore since -- well,
since we're back together now.
Jake: Leo, I never looked
after Greenlee -- not then,
not now.
Leo: Yeah, well, I know that
you two, you know, were pretty
tight and that you talked quite
a bit and that you liked that,
so --
Jake: Greenlee talks to me.
Does that worry you?
Leo: No.
No.
Jake: That's good
because it shouldn't.
Leo: No, it won't.
Look, I just want you to be
clear that Greenlee and I are
engaged now.
Jake: Leo, if you're
so insecure where Greenlee's
concerned, I suggest you take it
up with her.
Leo: I'm totally secure,
Jake.
Jake: Right.
You're scared spitless.
Leo: I've got nothing to be
scared of, Jake.
Jake: Hmm -- except Greenlee
because she's complicated,
she's demanding, and she is
a lot for a guy like
you to handle.
Leo: Yeah, I know that.
I know that.
We're doing just great, ok?
Jake: Maybe for the short
run.
But for the long haul,
Greenlee requires grounding
and security.
And that comes with someone
who's steady and mature -- two
traits you're not.
Leo: Where did you pick up
this superior knowledge
of relationships, Jake?
While you were on the rebound?
Is that it?
[Jake chuckles]
Leo: What, do you got this
thing for rejection?
That's fine.
Knock yourself out, bro.
Just don't think that you're
going to --
uh -- when was Greenlee here?
Jake: Hmm.
Yesterday.
But, hey, listen, things are
going great, right?
Guess she didn't feel she had
to mention it.
[Knock on door]
Laura: Hey, neighbors.
Uh, spare some virgin olive oil
for my linguine with clam sauce
project?
I'm still unpacking and half
my kitchen stuff is missing.
Is that a bummer, or what?
Erica: That was quite
a speech you made, Greenlee.
It was very perceptive.
And I do appreciate your helping
to protect my accounts.
So I am rehiring you.
Greenlee: Yeah!
Erica: No -- oh, no.
No, just- you know,
not another step unless you want
to go back on the unemployment
line.
Greenlee: I'll make
you as proud of me as I am
of myself.
This is so fantastic.
How can I ever thank you?
Erica: By being brilliant
and by helping to keep
our company in the black.
Greenlee: I can't wait
to tell Jake.
Erica: Jake?
Excuse me.
Wasn't that Leo you just kicked
out of here?
Greenlee: Yes, Leo.
I said Leo.
Ok.
So while you're suffering
through your trial,
Enchantment will be safe
in my fabulously capable hands,
running like a well-oiled
machine.
Erica: No, no, no, no, no.
Slow down, Evita.
You're getting your old job
back.
I'm not handing you the store.
You're not running Enchantment.
Greenlee: I was kidding.
Erica: You were not.
I will continue at the helm
of my company.
Greenlee: Is it possible?
Erica: For me, yes.
I just won't be as hands-on
as I was in the past.
Greenlee: Well, my hands
are open and ready --
to help out.
Erica: I'll remember that.
Greenlee: But what
if you're --
Erica: What if I'm what?
What if I'm found guilty?
Opal: Erica, life as we know
it has gone from bad to worse.
Erica: What are you talking
about?
Is Bianca all right?
Opal: Well, she's
a brokenhearted mess,
poor child, but I did get
her settled in at Myrt's
if that's what you're asking.
Erica: Oh.
Opal, don't scare me like that.
Opal: Well --
Greenlee: Well, she can stay
at my penthouse if she'd like.
Erica: Oh, that's really
generous of you, Greenlee,
but no, thank you.
I mean, Myrtle is really much
more like her family and so --
why don't you go home?
Why don't you go get some sleep?
Greenlee: Thank you, Erica.
Erica: Ok.
Greenlee: And if you need
anything --
Erica: Mm-hmm.
Erica: Is Bianca all right?
Is she resting?
Should I call a doctor?
Opal: Well, she cried herself
dry and then dozed off, but it
wasn't a restful sleep.
No, she's tossing and turning.
It's just pathetic.
Erica: I should be there,
Opal.
Opal: Well, Honey, I'm afraid
that she wouldn't even entertain
the thought of seeing you right
now.
Erica: Well, not now,
but she'll come around.
Opal: I'm not so sure.
She told me flat out that
you shot and killed Frankie.
Erica: Opal, will you please
go to her?
Please, go to Bianca and hold
her hand while she's sleeping
and be there when she wakes up.
Please.
I don't want her to feel
deserted.
I don't want her to be alone.
Opal: Honey, of course.
I will do anything for that poor
child.
Erica: And I don't mean just
now, Opal.
I mean she's going to need
you even more during my trial
and afterwards when I'm --
Opal: When you're what?
Erica: When I'm convicted
and sent to prison.
David: So you must have run
a thorough background check
on me.
Anna: Yeah.
You know I would have.
David: So, is that why
you tracked me down today?
To share in the unhappy
anniversary of my father's
death?
Anna: It was a factor, yeah.
David: You're a remarkable
hybrid, Anna.
Part warm, protective woman,
part cold, calculating spy.
I mean, this suicide must have
delighted you.
Anna: Oh, hardly.
David: Come on.
If revealed and shared at just
the right moment, it could yield
some very, very interesting
insights.
You did think of that,
did you not, agent Devane?
Anna: Fleetingly, yes, I did.
David: So, did I thwart
your strategy with my remarkable
insights, or did you just
abandon it altogether?
Anna: I would never have used
it that way.
It's beneath me.
David: You know something?
I'm very curious about
something.
How complete is the David
Hayward dossier they supplied
you with?
Did it provide you with all
the -- the particulars
of the tragic event?
Anna: I didn't need them.
David: Really?
Well, you never know when some
seemingly inconsequential detail
properly delivered could help
bring down the enemy.
Anna: I don't consider
you my enemy.
David: Yeah, but it is oddly
arousing, I ha to admit,
having a lover who wants to nail
me in a variety of ways.
Why don't I --
why don't I just fill in all
those gaps in your education,
ok?
Anna: No, that's not
necessary.
David: No, no, no.
I mean, I'm sure that you would
love for me to unburden myself.
Anna: Well, only if you want
to.
David: I was at home when it
happened.
Anna: When he shot himself?
David: Yeah.
Did they tell you that my mother
goaded him into it,
that she handed him the gun,
challenged him to pull
the trigger?
Anna: I didn't know that.
David: Oh, yeah.
And he obliged
because he always gave her what
she wanted.
Anna: Did you see it?
David: I still see it.
She walked out of the room,
left me holding him in my arms.
I just kept holding him
and begging him not to leave.
There was blood everywhere.
I couldn't stop it.
I couldn't save him.
Anna: You were a 12-year-old
boy, David.
David: I just wanted to stop
the pain, that's all.
I just --
[David sighs]
Anna: His pain
or yours?
Jack: This drug investigation
you're working on -- what can
you tell me about Proteus?
Chris: Time to go.
Jack: You know, it is
to your benefit to share
your findings with the local
DA.
Chris: You know,
Jackson, I think you missed
your true calling because
you would've made one heck
of a guidance counselor.
Jack: I'm offering
you my help.
Chris: I'll consider it.
No thanks.
You know, it just doesn't seem
right being on the same side
as you.
Chris: You're spreading
yourself awfully thin,
my friend -- drug
investigations, murder defenses.
Chris: I can handle it.
Jack: Pride goes before
a fall, they say.
Or maybe, in your case,
pride goeth before another
suspension.
Chris: And you would be
getting at what?
Jack: The only dirt I could
find on you was your suspension
from the bureau.
Chris: Congratulations.
Jack: Thanks.
Interestingly enough,
though, the cause for
the suspension was no longer
in the file.
I don't suppose you know
anything about that?
Yeah.
Well, whatever it was, we both
know it had to be pretty major
for you to get bucked down
from an acting agent to flying
a desk for two years.
Chris: You think?
Jack: I think whatever it
was -- whether you blew a major
case or got a partner killed --
you frankly don't care.
All you care about is that you got a second chance.
Chris: And I'm grateful.
Jack: Yeah.
You sure do have a lot
on your plate, my friend.
Chris: We'll see.
Jack: Yeah, we will.
Because we both know,
you shortchange the bureau this
time, they're not going to give
you a third chance.
Opal: Now, we are going
to drop this negativity
and we're going to drop it right
now.
You cannot go sit in some
courtroom looking like doom
on a shingle.
Is it Jackson that's got you
thinking this way -- him and
his "Mr. Do-It-By-The-Books"
routine?
That's just an act, Sugar.
He is not going to let you be
convicted for something
you didn't do.
Erica: Opal, your confidence
is misplaced.
Opal: What, you don't think
that Jack would do right by you?
Erica: It wasn't Jack I was
referring to.
Opal: Well, you can't mean
my confidence in you.
Now, you listen here,
miss thing.
Anything Bianca said is dead
wrong.
I know you.
And I know that no matter how
furious you might've been,
there's no way that you could
have pulled the trigger
on little Frankie.
Erica?
Ok.
All right, I want you to look me
straight in the eyes and tell me
the truth.
Did you kill that girl?
Erica: Opal, there is such
a good chance that I am going
to be convicted and sent away
for a long, long time.
Opal: Bite your tongue.
Erica: And Bianca won't be
completely alone.
I know that because I know that
she will still have her Uncle
Jack and she will have Myrtle
and she will have Leo.
But that's not enough.
Opal: No.
That's exactly why you're not
going anyplace.
She needs you.
Erica: She needs someone
to fill in for me, Opal,
someone to substitute for me.
Opal: Well, nobody can take
your place, and nobody is going
to have to.
Erica: You'd be the closest,
Opal.
Opal: Erica, I love you like
a sister -- even better --
but don't ask that of me.
Please, not yet.
Erica: Opal, I have to.
I have to ask you that.
Please.
Please promise me that you will
be as much of a mother to Bianca
as she will allow you to be.
Opal: Of course.
I will do whatever you ask.
But you got to go at this trial
with the faith that justice will
prevail.
You're not going to the slammer.
Erica: Opal, Bianca means
everything to me.
She is just my life.
She's my heart.
And the thought that she might
hate me for the rest of my life
is just --
Opal: She's not going to hate
you for the rest of your life.
Erica: Of course,
on the other hand, if that's
what it takes to save her,
then, ok, I can live with it.
I mean, it's better that
she hates me than --
Opal: Than what?
How in blue blazes did this turn
into you saving Bianca?
Laura: I hate living out
of boxes.
How long did it take
you to settle in?
Leo: You're not kidding.
You --
you really live in this
building?
Laura: Yeah, as of this
morning.
The price was right,
and the loft is to die for.
So bring in the welcome wagons.
Let's party.
Leo: You -- you can't live
here!
Laura: Leo, what's wrong
with you?
Leo: I can't believe your mom
is even letting you do this!
Laura: Leo, I'm an adult.
I can choose where I want
to live.
Leo: No, you're living here
because I'm living here
with Greenlee.
That's why.
Laura: Uh -- forgive me
for bursting your bubble,
but I'm living here
because the kitchen is
state-of-the-art, I have
a Jacuzzi in the bathroom
and a spectacular view
of the sunset.
Leo: Oh, that's a bunch
of hooey.
Laura: Of course, you have
your own spectacular view,
but if you'd ever like to share
a sunset, Jake, feel free.
Jake: Laura, my advice
to you is to skip the sunsets
and spend your time getting
help.
Laura: Well, one drawback
of this building is
the neighbors.
But I'll tell you what --
if we can just skip the cup
of olive oil --
if you've got a cup of ice
cream.
Let's see, what flavor would be
you?
Certainly not strawberry and not
bland, old vanilla --
I know.
Rocky road.
Jake: Go to the store, Laura.
Leo: This is the second time
you've pulled this cat and mouse
about the ice cream thing,
Laura.
What the hell are you talking
about?
Laura: Do you want to field
this one, Jake, or should I?
No?
Ok.
In the interest of being a good
neighbor --
I overheard Greenlee and Jake
talking at the hospital.
Greenlee was telling him how
much she loved vanilla --
that's her creamy metaphor
for you, Leo.
But then she tried rocky road,
AKA Jake.
She said once she tasted that
yummy road, she could never go
back to being a one-flavor gal.
Erica: Opal, I asked
you for a commitment.
Do I have it?
Opal: Well, I said yes,
and I meant yes.
But, now, what is this about
Bianca hating you being ok
so long as you can save her?
Erica: I didn't say that.
Opal: It's an approximation,
ok?
I can't do the direct quote
because it didn't make any
sense.
Erica: Look, I'm sorry
if you misunderstood me.
Let's just put it behind us, ok?
Opal: You see?
You see, this is why any jury
would hang themselves before
they could find you guilty.
You are slipperier than
a greased pig in a vat
of chicken fat.
Erica: Well, if that's
a compliment, ok, I'm flattered.
Opal: Well, I have some
experience with greased pigs.
I caught one once at the county
fair.
I won myself a pair of purple
go-go boots and a hot pink fake
fur Jacket.
Erica: Look --
do you think I made a mistake
rehiring Greenlee?
Opal: But the thing is,
with a greased pig,
once you grab on to one
of their trotters, you don
want to be distracted
by the rest of the wriggling
pig.
So don't think that I am going
to loosen my grip just
so as that you can wriggle free.
Now, of course, I will look
after Bianca until eternity
if need be.
But right now I would like
to look after you and --
and help you if you would let
me.
So would you just tell me,
what is going on?
Erica: Opal, what I want
you to do is just relax.
Chris has everything under
control.
Opal: Well, Chris is fine
and dandy, but you and I both
know that he is as male
as they come, which means
he doesn't have a clue about
the depth of mother love.
Now, please, Erica, talk to me
here.
The load shared is the load
lightened.
What is all of this about
you saving Bianca?
Erica: I have to.
The jury has to find me guilty
because I think that Bianca shot
Frankie.
[Door opens]
Anna: What the hell was that?
Chris: That was so sweet.
Did I disturb you?
Anna: Did you stop to think
what would've happened if he was
awake?
Chris: If I'd heard anything
at the door, I wouldn't have
come in.
Anna: I mean it, Stamp.
You can't just break
into his room.
Chris: I didn't have to break
into the room, Devane.
You and the good doctor saw it
fit to leave it open for me.
Careless on your part.
Anna: What do you want?
Chris: Well, we have business
to discuss.
Anna: What business?
The Proteus case?
Chris: You know, I was really
happy with what I just saw
in there.
Encouraged.
Anna: Goody.
Then I can retire.
Chris: Not yet.
I want you to accelerate
your relationship.
Anna: What exactly are
you asking?
Chris: I want you to get
inside of his head,
inside of his life.
Sharing a bed with him doesn't
provide us with the access
we need.
I want you to move in with him.
Can you handle that?
Anna: Oh.
Yeah.
I can handle more than you can
imagine.
Chris: Well, good.
Then let's get it on.
To discover where the base
of operations is, you have to do
more than just pillow talk
with him, Devane.
Anna: All right. I'll tell you something I've
discovered.
David isn't Proteus.
Chris: I hope you have the
facts to back that up.
All right, well, it's possible
that he's not Proteus, but he's
still high up in the
organization.
Anna: No, I don't think so.
Chris: What is this,
woman's intuition?
Anna: You think my emotions
are running away with me?
Chris: I'm asking you to keep
your libido on a tighter leash
is what I'm doing.
Anna: Oh, okey-dokey,
Mr. Erica Kane.
Chris: You bring me facts,
not impressions, ok?
And until then, you remember
who's running this, huh?
Me.
I call the shots in this
investigation.
Anna: Proving once again that
the boys at the top are capable
of more screw ups.
Chris: What, you want to bow
out?
Be my guest.
Anna: Listen.
You know what?
The day that you gave me access
to this case, I was mowed down
by a car.
Is that a coincidence?
Chris: Oh, so you thought
that I brought you on board
and then tried to kill you?
Anna: You're not capable
of that?
I am.
Chris: If I wanted you dead,
you'd be dead.
Anna: That's funny.
David said the same thing.
Are you keeping me focused
on David for a reason?
Chris: He's not my type.
Anna: No.
What I mean --
is there something that
you don't want me to find out?
What is it?
Chris: You hot for more
responsibility, Devane?
Then you prove to me you can
handle it.
Until then, you just follow
my orders.
Anna: Oh, you're up.
Are you feeling better?
David: I thought I'd been
deserted.
So, where did you go?
Anna: Oh, back to my room,
check my messages.
David: Well, you could've
checked them right here
on my phone.
Anna: I didn't want to wake
you.
David: Thank you.
David: Come to bed with me.
Anna: You want me to?
David: Yeah.
Yeah, I want you to.
Jake: All right,
Laura, I want you out of my loft
right now.
Come on.
Laura: Yeah, maybe
in a minute.
But first shouldn't you do
the Martin-like thing and back
me up on Greenlee's flavor
cravings?
Leo: This isn't funny.
All right?
We're finished, and she's
finished with Jake, so just drop
the --
Greenlee: Jake!
I was hoping you'd be home.
I have the best news ever!
Laura: Greenlee --
we were just talking about
you and Jake.
Now, that picture was worth
a thousand words, huh, Leo?
Opal: Bianca.
Erica: Now do you understand?
Opal: Bianca killed Frankie?
Erica: I think so.
Opal: You saw her shoot her?
Erica: No.
I mean, by the time I got
to your house, she was gone.
Opal: And so then what
happened?
Erica: Bianca saw Frankie
in bed with a boy, and it put
her over the edge.
I mean, she was in shock.
She didn't even know what
she was doing.
She doesn't even remember it.
Opal: Yeah, but since when
does Bianca walk around packing
heat?
Erica: Well, I think maybe
she found out that Frankie had
a boy over and she picked a gun
up somewhere on her way over.
Opal: So it's premeditation?
Erica: Look, we may not ever
know precisely what happened.
Opal: Because of the memory
lapse, which is why she thinks
you're guilty.
Erica: Exactly.
Thank God, because it protects
us.
Opal: "Us"?
Who?
Not you.
But I guess she can't blow
your cover story if she doesn't
know it's a cover.
Erica: No.
The shock of what she saw
and did has just spared
her memory.
Opal: Well, not to monkey
wrench things here or anything,
but unless you saw Bianca shoot
Frankie or found her
post-shooting sobbing,
"Frankie, Frankie,
why did I shoot you?"
I mean, there's every
possibility that your daughter's
innocent.
Erica: Oh, don't I wish.
But let's examine motive, ok?
I mean, it sure wasn't about
stealing.
Frankie didn't have anything
of value.
And there was no sign of forced
entry, was there?
Any kind of violent entry?
Opal: Not that I heard, no.
Erica: No, exactly.
No, it was a crime of passion.
Bianca gave her heart
to Frankie.
Opal: So then when she found
her in bed with somebody else --
Erica: Yeah, well, that was
bad enough, but when
the somebody else turned out
to be a boy, I'm afraid that
just was just too much for her.
It's much, much worse.
Opal: Well, wouldn't that be
temporary insanity at least?
Erica: Do you actually think
I'm going to expose Bianca
to a media circus?
Opal: Well, for one thing,
it might get her off.
Erica: And she might not.
They would exploit her
sexuality.
They would examine every detail
of whatever romance she had
with that -- that Frankie
person.
And they would discuss her past
problems with anorexia.
Opal: Yeah, and it could save
you from a lifetime behind bars.
Erica: Opal, I am not about
to trade my freedom
for my daughter's.
I'm not going to watch her be
tortured and thrown in prison
for 30 or 40 years, if she's
lucky.
Opal: Oh.
Boy, nobody has ever been
between a bigger rock
and a harder hard place than
you are right now.
Erica: You listen to me,
Opal.
You have to swear to me that
you will not breathe a word
of this to another living soul.
I have got to continue to play
this out.
Chris: Play out what, Erica?
ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN
Laura: Look what you did.
Greenlee: Me?
It was you.
Now we're stuck.
Anna: I think Agent Stamp's
been lying to you.
Erica: I do happen to know
what men want and when they want
it.
Chris: What do I want, Erica?
Hmm?
