ALL MY CHILDREN

FEBRUARY 10, 2000

Edmund: Hey.
Stella: Hey.
Edmund: Hi. I was hoping I'd find Alex here. I've been looking for her all day.
Stella: I let myself in.
Edmund: You haven't seen her?
Stella: No, sir. Not since yesterday. Mr. Grey, it's none of my business --
Edmund: Yeah?
Stella: I changed Dr. Marick's linen, and it didn't look like her bed had been slept in.
Alex: Oh. Good morning, everyone.
Stella: Good morning. I've put out some tea and croissants.
Alex: Lovely. Thank you so much. I'm famished. Thanks, Stella.
Stella: Mm-hmm.
Alex: Ooh. I haven't closed my eyes all night. Want some? What?
Edmund: I dropped by earlier.
Alex: Oh, and I wasn't here. Did you think that I'd packed my bags and gone?
Edmund: The thought occurred to me.
Alex: No. I'd never go without saying good-bye. And I never run from a challenge. I went riding to clear my head.
Edmund: Out by the bridle path?
Alex: No. I went to the beach. It was freezing. The sea was beautiful. Just gorgeous. And I stopped -- I stopped right there. And I looked out over towards where I think England might be, and I felt very far from home.
Edmund: I know the feeling. Alex: Oh, I'm so uncomfortable in my own skin, Edmund. I feel like I'm remembering someone else's life, like a part of me that's just been pushed to the back of a drawer.
Edmund: Are you kind of afraid?
Alex: Yeah. But I also have this morbid curiosity. Like it's got me by the scruff of the neck and it's not going to let go until I find the answers.
Edmund: Sounds like you've made a decision.
Alex: All these ghosts that are out there, I'm going to face them head-on -- Cassandra, Geoffrey. If I killed him, I have to find out why.

Brooke: Hey --
Jack: Hey.
Brooke: Stranger. How are you?
Jack: Good. Sorry, I was a million miles away.
Brooke: I guess you were.
Jack: How are you?
Brooke: Good, good, good. Jack: Good. So, what's the big occasion?
Brooke: Stop that. It's just a little gift for Gillian and Jake. Myrtle is throwing them a royal boarding house farewell for the happy couple. Are you going?
Jack: Well, I don't really have that much choice, frankly.
Brooke: Oh, you're going to be the life of the party, aren't you?
Jack: No, I'm actually going to be the bearer of bad news, and the timing couldn't be worse.
Brooke: Why? What's the matter?
Jack: Well, I have something for Jake, but it's certainly not a wedding present.

Rae: Brooke, hi.
Jack: Hi, Rae.
Brooke: Rae.
Rae: Excuse me for barging in like this.
Jack: Oh, that's quite all right.
Rae: I'm sort of what they call a friend in need.
Jack: Well, then I'm sort of what they call excusing myself. Excuse me.
Rae: No, no, no, no, please, don't go, Jackson. I could use your input as an ex-D.A.
Brooke: Is this about Daniel?
Rae: No, it's about my daughter. I haven't seen her since she was born.
Brooke: Oh, gee. Rae. I had no idea.
Rae: No, of course you didn't. It has been my secret. Now you know why I've been so anxious to find my husband, Daniel.
Jack: Well, is Daniel the father of the child?
Rae: No. No, he isn't. But I gave him money, a lot of it, to try and find her. You see, I was told that she had died at childbirth. But she didn't. She was taken from me, stolen --
Jack: What?
Rae: And sold to another family.
Brooke: Oh, my God.
Rae: Yes. But she's alive. You see, that's the incredible part.
Brooke: To have a child's life restored, Rae, that's a gift. It is.
Rae: Yes, it is. And it's frustrating as hell.
Jack: I imagine.
Rae: Yeah. You helped me once before, Brooke. You think you would like to do it again? Look for my daughter with me?
Brooke: Our research staffs at your disposal.
Rae: Bless you. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Brooke: You bet. Really.
Rae: Ok. Where do we start?
Jack: I think we start with a name. That would be a great place to start.
Brooke: Do you know your daughter's name?
Rae: No, I don't really, but I ha reason to believe it might be Fannie. Fannie Battle.

Myrtle: F-a-n-n-i--e. The Fannie Battle Home for Unwed Mothers. Elsah, Illinois. No. No, I don't know the address. But I'd know the place. I'd know the place with my eyes closed.

[Doorbell rings]

Myrtle: Look, I can't hold on, I've got company. No, I'm sorry, I can't leave my number. It's a very delicate situation. Look, I'll call back. I'll call back later. I'll call back later.

[Ring]

Myrtle: Coming! Coming, coming, coming! Al hi!
Myrtle: Come on in. Come on in. Hello, hello, hello. Hi, Joe.
Joe: Hi, Myrtle.
Myrtle: Good to see you. Good to see you. Hey, where is Ruthie?
Joe: Well, I don't know where she is this very minute, but she gave me this list of things to do before the wedding.
Myrtle: Oh, poor Ruthie.
Tad: It's something, isn't it? Almost as long as your list of baldness cures gone wrong.
Adrian: I am not bald, I'm clean-shaven.
Dixie: Charming.
Tad: And polished to a high gloss, baby. Look, kids, you can see yourselves!
Adrian: Say your prayers, Martin.
Dixie: Can you believe it? Yeah, that's fantastic. You're such a wonderful influence on the boys.
Jamie: Uncle Adrian was great at our school, though, talking about all that spy stuff.
Tad: You want to be your Uncle Adrian when you grow up?
Jamie: I want some of those cool gadgets.
Junior: Yeah, we could bug the teachers' lunchroom.
Dixie: Wait a minute. I thought you were supposed to be lecturing, something about black history month?
Adrian: I did speak about black history month. But you know how kids are. They want to be -- you know, they got the cool gadgets, that's the kind of stuff they remember.
Dixie: Working on the kids.
Tad: Oh, my God, you're black? All right, come on, let's get this rehearsal party into high gear. We've got to show your Uncle Jake how much we love him.
Junior: Yeah, we could show him at the wedding if you weren't making us go to school.
Jamie: Yeah, really. This stinks.
Dixie: We've been through this, guys. You have midterms, and you have a test.
Tad: Yeah, but cheer up, we'll save you some cake. In the meantime, you can help me out with my speech for the groom. What do you say, huh?
Dixie: Oh, better be rated G.
Tad: Absolutely. You heard her. Keep it clean, huh? Kids -- you can dress them up, but you can't leave them at the curb.

Joe: Myrtle, I want to thank you for going to all this trouble. Really.
Myrtle: Oh, darling, you mustn't. It was my pleasure. I didn't want the boys to feel left out.
Joe: Well, Ruth is very sorry she couldn't come, but at the -- she's got her hands full preparing for this wedding.
Myrtle: Of course she does.
Joe: Tomorrow's a big day for the Martins. Has something been troubling you?
Myrtle: No, no, no, no, no. No, it's -- it's a treat to be able to do something for Gillian and Jake to celebrate this wonderful, wonderful occasion.

Dixie: Hey.
Myrtle: Oh, here he is.
Tad: What do you know? It's the groom.
Dixie: And the charming little flower girl.
Jake: Colby has an announcement. Ok. She says she's sorry for the holdup. She didn't mean to keep everybody waiting, especially my beautify bride-to-be.
All: Aw.
Jake: My bride-to-be -- where is Gillian? She should be here by now.

Gillian: Why did you do this, Ryan? Why did you make me kiss you?
Ryan: No, Princess, I didn't make you do anything. That kiss just proved what I said. You have no business marrying Jake. Not when you love me.
Gillian: Yes, damn you! I love you, Ryan. I never stopped loving you.
Gillian: I love you, Ryan, but it doesn't matter.
Ryan: What? How can you say that
Gillian: You told me to go on with my life. I took your advice. I found Jake, and he gave me everything that I needed.
Ryan: Gillian, you can't be serious.
Gillian: We're meant to be.
Ryan: If you still love me, it's you and me, you and me who are meant to be together.
Gillian: No, this is my fate. I have to follow it. I have to do this, Ryan, and you have to respect my wishes and leave me alone forever.
Ryan: What are you talking about? There's no such thing as fate, Gillian. It's not written somewhere that you have to marry Jake Martin. Unless you're --
Gillian: No, I'm not pregnant.
Ryan: Well, then why are you rushing down the aisle?
Gillian: The custody suit.
Ryan: The custody suit. That's right. That's right. You said something about Jake deserving to be Colby's dad. It doesn't make sense, Gillian. He is Colby's dad.
Gillian: I know that.
Ryan: And Liza is her mother, and she's a damn good mother. Why are you messing with this?
Gillian: Ryan, please. Can we just leave Colby out of this?
Ryan: Is Colby the only reason that you're marrying Jake?
Gillian: No. Adam is not fit to be her father.
Ryan: So you're throwing your life away to punish Adam Chandler?
Gillian: I'm not! I'm not throwing my life away!
Ryan: Just help me understand, please. Tell me, why are you doing this?
Gillian: No, why are you doing this to me? You don't know what I need or what I want, Ryan. I can't help loving you, but I can move beyond that and do what's best.
Ryan: Best for who? Best for you? Gillian, if you're in trouble or if -- I don't know -- somebody's pressuring you into this, just talk to me, please. Just don't do something that we're both going to regret.
Gillian: Ryan, please, please don't do this.
Ryan: Gillian, you love me. Let me help you. Please tell me what's really going on with you and Jake. Look, you are the one -- you're the one who always said love is everything. You can live on it. Without it, life is worthless. Remember that? Didn't that kiss prove that?
Gillian: Ryan, you can't build a future on one kiss. Jake knows me. He knows what I want. You know, all my life, I've waited for a prince to come along and carry me away. He came, and he broke my heart. And Jake mended it. He's a good man. He's loving and kind, and we'd be perfect together. We'd have a peaceful life and a family, and that's good for me.
Ryan: Even if you love me?
Gillian: Loving you hurt too much.
Good-bye, Ryan. Ryan: Gillian, just talk to me! There's something you are not telling me!

Dixie: Come here. Come to me.
Jake: Oh, here comes the Dixie handoff.
Dixie: Oh.
Jake: There we are.
Dixie: Oh, yeah. Don't worry. Gillian is going to be here soon. No beautiful bride could stay away from her handsome husband. No.
Tad: Handsome? You think Jake's handsome?
Dixie: Yeah.
Tad: Well, I guess maybe in a quest for fire kind of way.
Jake: You call yourself a best man?
Tad: Well, it's not my fault. You asked me, man. It's not my problem you've got bad taste.
Junior: When is Jake going to open up his presents?
Jamie: Yeah. Hey, open mine first.
Jake: Right now. Bring them on, boys.
Dixie: Hey, hey, hey. Hello? Wait a minute. There's no frogs or ferrets in any of those boxes, is there?
Adrian: No, no wildlife. You have our word on it.
Dixie: Oh.
Jake: Well, it's not the same without Mom here telling me not to rip the pretty paper.
Joe: All right.
Tad: Give him the one on the bottom first. It's mine.
Dixie: Yeah, give him that one.
Adrian: All right. Upsy-daisy.
Jake: What do we got here, boys?
Tad: And don't worry, Babe -- I kept the receipt.
Jake: Thank you.
Tad: Yeah, come on.
Jake: What is this?
Tad: Thought you might want to practice.
Dixie: Oh. That's nice.
Tad: Come on now.
Adrian: Well, it seems kind of fitting since you and Gillian will be spending a lifetime together, huh?
Jake: Oh.
Dixie: Yes, with no possibility of parole.
Tad: Oh.
Joe: Ooh.
Jake: Ok. Explain this to me.
Tad: Well, you're marrying royalty. Makes you co-royalty, doesn't it? Joe: Yeah, a prince consort.
Dixie: Oh no, no. Prince consort is like when you marry a queen like Prince Philip.
Jake: Well, Gillian makes me feel like a king, so I'll be wearing this maybe once or twice.
Joe: There you go.
Jake: Dad?

Adrian: So, how's Rae doing after spending the night in lockup?
Myrtle: Well, I'm not sure. She came home, she dropped the name Fannie Battle, and then she was gone.
Adrian: Yeah. She's hoping that name's going to blaze a trail to her daughter.
Myrtle: Did you find out anything else from that nasty lawyer's office?
Adrian: Well, just a ledger with Daniel's name written next to Fannie Battle, written next to Rae's name.
Myrtle: Oh. Not very much to go on.
Adrian: It's a start. But you know, it's a weird name, don't you think?
Myrtle: Yeah. Another time, another place.

Brooke: Keep your fingers crossed.
Rae: Ok.
Jack: Sorry, Rae. No match.
Brooke: We're just getting started.
Rae: I know, I know.
Brooke: All right? Just getting started. Are you sure that that's your daughter's name?
Rae: No. No, not really. I mean, I found the name in a ledger next to my husband's name and my name, so I know there's got to be some kind of connection.
Brooke: Yeah.
Jack: Well, the name Fannie went out with bustles and model T's, certainly before your time.
Rae: Thank you -- I think.
Jack: Oh, you're welcome.
Brooke: Do you think maybe it's the name of a company?
Rae: I don't know.
Jack: That's a good idea. Try that.
Brooke: All right. Let's go.
Brooke: Ok. Look at this.

Alex: Geoffrey and Cassandra -- names without faces from my subconscious. Why are they surfacing now?
Edmund: You sure you want to know?
Alex: Yeah, I have to. Edmund: What you have to be is careful. I mean, the last time you remembered that Cassandra was Geoffrey's daughter and that she died, you fainted.
Alex: Thank you for catching me on the way down.
Edmund: Well, it was easy.
Alex: How much do you think David and Erica know about Ashford and how he died?
Edmund: Not enough to hurt you.
Alex: Why'd you say that?
Edmund: Because he was hounding you, trying to goad you into a confession, and if he knew everything, he wouldn't have done that.
Alex: I have to find the truth before they do and use it against me. You want to help?
Edmund: Sure. Ok. Do you remember when you were learning how to be a doctor? In your psych rotation, did you use something called automatic writing?
Alex: Briefly, yeah. Isn't that when you tap into your subconscious?
Edmund: Yes, and it's a hell of a lot safer than doing a free-fall from the top of a hospital stairwell.
Alex: Don't knock it. You think that I should do that?
Edmund: I think that you should do that.
Alex: Ok. Let's do it now.
Edmund: Ok. Let me see. What you do is just -- you're not going to need those. Just put them down. Pick up the pen. Clear your mind. Put the pen to paper. And write.
Alex: I don't know what to write.
Edmund: Anything. Everything. Just close your eyes. Close them. Ok. Write. Now just go.
Alex: I can't do this.
Edmund: Yes, you can.
Alex: No, I can't.
Edmund: You're doing it.
Alex: No. My brain, it's not going to shut off.
Edmund: Well, there's more than one way to plumb the subconscious.
Alex: I don't have years to spend on an analyst's couch.
Edmund: But you're determined to learn more about your past, right? So will you take hypnosis a second time?
Alex: All right.
Edmund: All right. I'll call Dr. Rae. I'll see if she's free and set up and appointment. You ok here for a while?
Alex: There's no sharp objects.
Edmund: Good night -- for now.
Alex: Take your coat.

Alex: Dimitri. When you told him to take care of me, is this what you meant?

Brooke: Well, Rae, I'm sorry. We're out of gas -- momentarily.
Rae: I know. I know. I didn't think we'd find it first time out.
Brooke: Listen, "Tempo" has a great research staff. We just need a little time.
Rae: I know that.
Brooke: Ok?
Rae: Thank you. You know what? It'll be worth the wait, won't it?
Brooke: Yes, it will.

[Telephone rings]

Rae: Oh. Hold on a minute. Sorry. Hello? Oh, Edmund, yeah. Uh-huh. When? 20 Minutes? Yeah, I could do that. All right. I'll see you then. All right. I'm sorry, I really have to go. Thank you, both of you.
Jack: I'll make some calls.
Brooke: You're very welcome.
Rae: And if anything should turn up --
Brooke: It's not "if," Rae, it's "when." All right? You will find your daughter.
Rae: Thank you, Brooke.
Brooke: Ok.
Rae: Thank you. Jackson.
Jack: Nice to see you again.
Rae: You, too. Bye-bye.

Brooke: Let me guess. This whole thing has brought up all about your sister Christine's history for you?
Jack: Oh, sure. Of course. And every other child that's been ripped away from its parents. And it happens more and more, and frankly, Brooke, I'm just sick and tired of being any part of it.
Brooke: Do you have bad news for Jake?
Jack: I'll tell you on the way to Myrtle's. Let me just put it to you this way. If you and the Martins don't hate me by the end of this day, I'll be very thankful.

Jake: Dix, how do I put this? Gillian's not real handy in the kitchen.
Dixie: It's not for the kitchen. It's what will be waiting for you if you work too many late shifts at the hospital.
Tad: Especially during the honeymoon. Know what I mean?
Jake: No. Not really. How long does this honeymoon last?
Tad: I'd say we're still working on ours. Right, sweetheart?
Dixie: Absolutely.
Jake: Oh, boy. Dad, help me out here.
Joe: Well, it's true. I love your mom more now than I did the day we were married.
Jake: Well, thank you. It's going to be a regular Martin love fest with us three.
Dixie: Oh, yes. Love fest.
Jake: Come to daddy.
Come to daddy.
Dixie: Ok. Oh, look at that face. Look at that face.

Myrtle: Is that the town hall, Elsah, Illinois? Look, I need some information about a home for unwed mothers. It used to be at the edge of town. Yes. That's right. The Fannie Battle home. Do you know it? It's closed? Do you know where they left their files? At the town hall? If I needed to make an inquiry, where would -- look, let me -- just let me write this down. Hold on a second. Yes. Ok. I got it.

Dixie: Give me that baby. That's not the solution.
Tad: Take her hand out of the ice.
Dixie: Come here. Oh. She feels a little warm.
Jake: Well, I think she's cutting a tooth.
Joe: You ran a low-grade fever when you were teething.
Jake: Well, Gillian usually puts the camphor and the mint on her gums. Where is Gillian? She should be here.

Ryan's voice: You have no business marrying Jake. Not when you love me.

Ryan's voice: Gillian, you're hiding something. What is it? Damn it, talk to me!

Greenlee: How could he do this to me? I hate him.
Gillian: Greenlee, why are you crying?
Greenlee: It's Ryan Lavery. He broke my heart.
Greenlee: Ryan told me that he loved me, that I was the only woman that could ever make him feel that way. And I gave him everything -- everything -- and then he just trashed it all.
Gillian: You were together at the Crystal Ball.
Greenlee: No, this was last night. Ryan made love to me till dawn, and then out of nowhere, he told me it was over. Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am.

Ryan: Something doesn't make sense here, Gillian. You're breaking Liza's heart to protect Colby from a man who's not even her father?
Gillian: Ryan, you don't understand this.
Ryan: I want to. Tell me.
Gillian: No, I can't.
Ryan: You can run from me, Princess, but you can't hide.

Jake: Gillian has her own schedule. And as long as she's on time to the wedding, I will be a happy man.
Myrtle: Jake, I almost forgot to tell you. Eugenia called, and she is leaving Budapest tonight and she's bringing some heirlooms to make sure it's a very happy wedding.
Dixie: Very sweet. You are a lucky man.
Tad: At last, culture comes to the Martin family.
Joe: Yes. I'm going to have to learn Hungarian.
Adrian: Don't worry. Gillian can teach you.
Jake: Well, the only Hungarian I need to know is "I love you." Hey, hey. Come on. What?

Tad: Hey! Latecomers.
Jake: Hello.
Brooke: Little late. Sorry.
Jake: That's all right. Thanks for coming.
Brooke: Congratulations.
Jake: Thank you. Thank you.
Jack: Jake, how are you?
Jake: Jack. Thanks for being here.
Jack: I'm afraid this isn't a social call.
Jake: What's this?
Jack: I didn't want to send a processor over with this. It's a court order for you to return Colby to Liza -- tonight. And until such time as there is some kind of a custody agreement worked out, I'm afraid you will have no access whatsoever to your daughter.

Edmund: Alex.
Alex: Hi.
Edmund: Hi.
Rae: Hi.
Edmund: I brought Rae up to speed.
Rae: Edmund says that you're starting to get your memory back. That's great. You want to try and remember some more?
Alex: Yeah.
Rae: Good. Your subconscious fought me the last time. You feeling a little me receptive, I hope?
Alex: Mm-hmm.
Rae: Good.
Alex: Rae, I killed a man.
Rae: Did you do it in self-defense?
Alex: I don't know.
Rae: I'm sure we're going to find out that, well, whatever it was, you did it and you were justified.
Alex: I hope so.
Rae: Ok. Shall we start?
Alex: Yeah.

Rae: Alex, who is Cassandra? Do you remember?
Alex: Yeah. She was my best friend.
Rae: Can you see her right now?
Alex: Uh-huh. She's a child like me. We promised that we were going to be friends forever. I'm going to stay over at her house tonight. We've been playing in the garden, riding horses, and she made me a daisy chain. I'm staying in her room tonight. It's really cold, so she tells me to go and get this feather quilt that's in the cupboard in the hall. So I'm going to go and get it.
Rae: All by yourself?
Alex: Uh-huh. Yeah, I know where it is. It's dark, though, but I know where it is.
Rae: What?
Alex: There's someone coming.
Rae: Do you know who?
Alex: No, I don't know, but I can hear the footsteps on the stairs. Oh, it's her father, Geoffrey. I don't like him. He's a very important man, but I don't like him. He scares me. I'm going to hide in the cupboard. He walks right by me. Doesn't see me. He kind of smells of whiskey and tobacco.
Rae: Tell me what's happening now. Alex?
Alex: I'm watching from the cupboard. He's gone into Cassandra's room. The door's open. I can hear their voices. He's shouting. He sounds pretty angry. She's crying. Oh, she's screaming. Oh, I have to go help her. Cassie, I'm coming! Oh. She's lying on the bed. She looks like a broken doll. I know she's dead.
Rae: Where is her father?
Alex: Sitting right over her. He's breathing really hard. He smells so much of whiskey I think I'm going to be sick. Though he's seen me. Oh, he grabs my arm, and he's saying to me, "you didn't hear anything. You didn't see anything!"
Rae: Alex --
Alex: "Don't tell anyone!"
Rae: I'm going to bring you out, all right?
Alex: "Don't tell anyone!"
Rae: At the count of three, you're going to open your eyes. One, two, three. Open your eyes. Alex?
Alex: Oh, God. He killed her. Oh, he killed my best friend. I saw him do it.
Rae: Listen to me. Do you want to go back under? We can find out what happens next.
Alex: No, I do not. No. Please. I don't want to go there. Oh.
Rae: Ok.
Alex: Oh, Lord.
Rae: Ok.
Alex: That was good.
Rae: You did very good. You know, memories are so traumatic. And it's the stuff that we don't know that really is what messes us up.
Alex: Yeah. Oh. Thank you.
Rae: You're welcome.
Edmund: I don't know how thank you, Rae.
Rae: Listen, you don't stray too far from her right now. The worst may not be over, Alex. You know that.
Alex: Now what?
Rae: You know, it's amazing, isn't it? Here is my family who told me my daughter had died, and here's a father who kills his own daughter. So maybe it's true what they say -- we're as sick as the secrets that we keep. You call me.
Alex: Ok.
Rae: Ok? You did so good.
Alex: Yeah. Thanks, Rae.
Rae: You're welcome. Get some rest.
Alex: Yes.
Rae: Ok.

Edmund: You did it.
Alex: Hold me.

Jake: I have to give Colby back to Liza today?
Tad: Come on, Jack. We wanted to have Colby in the wedding.
Jack: Look, believe me, tad, if I could do something about this, I would. But the fact is the judge ruled that Colby has to be returned to her mother until this matter is settled. I'm sorry. Good luck tomorrow, ok?
Adrian: Hey. This is only temporary, man.
Dixie: Yeah. Once the judge knows what's really going on, he's going to rule in your favor.
Joe: There's no doubt about it.
Tad: Does anybody else smell Adam behind this?

Myrtle: Is that reservations? Can you tell me the nearest airport to Elsah, Illinois? St. Louis? I want to make a reservation on the first flight to St. Louis from Pine Valley. Yes. Tomorrow morning will be fine. I'll give you the instructions later. Thank you. Oh.

Joe: Myrtle, I'm afraid the bloom is off your lovely party. I apologize.
Myrtle: Darling, darling, it's not your fault.
Joe: Well, Adam and Liza may have won this round. They won't win the last round. The wedding's going on as scheduled tomorrow. You will be there?
Myrtle: Oh, I wouldn't miss it.

Jake: Oh, I suppose I have to -- if I want my day in court, I should listen to this.
Dixie: Just remember it's only temporary, right?
Jake: So do you think the judge is biased in favor of Adam and Liza by doing this?
Tad: No, I don't. When it comes to the parents of the year, you and Gillian are the obvious choice. You've got to know that. Any judge worth his gavel is going to see that.
Jake: I hope so.
Tad: Jake, we'll make sure of it.

Greenlee: Ryan told me that he loved me last night. He walked out on me this morning. I mean, I was so sure that he was speaking from his heart. The way he looks at you with those soulful eyes, like you're the only woman in the world. But that's just the game he plays. It's his power trip over women. Once he gets you to say "I love you," that's it. The game's over, and he cashes out.

Ryan: That kiss just proved what I said.
You have no business marrying Jake. Not when you love me.
Gillian: Yes, damn you. I love you, Ryan. I never stopped loving you.

Greenlee: You know, you're lucky that you got away from Ryan and got a second chance with Jake. Take my advice, Gillian. Tie the knot tight. Don't let Jake get away.
Gillian: I won't. And you should do what I did.
Greenlee: What's that?
Gillian: Forget about Ryan.

Greenlee: Damn, I'm good.

Alex: There's more.
Edmund: More memories?
Alex: Yeah. Yeah. I didn't tell anyone ever about Sir Geoffrey. I was really scared of him, so I never told a soul. And then flash forward several years, and I ran into him at a New Year's Eve party. He saw me, and he stared at me the same way that he did the night he killed Cassandra. He followed me up the stairs, and he pressed me to keep my silence. And I told him that I wasn't afraid anymore and that I was going to make him pay for killing his daughter. You know what he did? He smiled. He smiled at me - and he grabbed me. And I felt his fingers tighten around my throat. And I pushed him really hard, and he fell down the stairs. Oh. God, help me. I was glad when he was dead. Everything else is just a blank, though.

Edmund: That's one piece of the puzzle solved.
Alex: I know why I killed him. I'm not sorry. Does that make me a monster?
Edmund: Makes you human.
Alex: I'm exhausted. Come on.
Edmund: I'm not leaving. This story is far from over.

Rae: Hi, everybody.
Tad: Hey.
Dixie: How are you?
Rae: Fine. Hi, Myrtle.
Myrtle: Hello.
Rae: So, what a day, huh?
Myrtle: Did you find out any more about the Battle connection?
Rae: No. I have Brooke working on it, though. But so far, nothing.
Myrtle: Honey, don't you think you should just let it go?
Rae: Myrtle, if this were your child that you were looking for, would you give it up?
Myrtle: I guess not.
Rae: See? I knew that. I'm going upstairs, all right? I'll see everybody later.

Jake: Hey!
Gillian: Hi.
Dixie: Gillian.
Gillian: Hey.
Jake: Hi.
Gillian: Hey.
Jake: Where have you been? Party's almost over.
Gillian: I bought you a wedding present. You don't look very happy to see me.
Jake: Jack Montgomery came by and dropped this bomb. We have to give Colby to Liza today. At least until the custody hearing is over. So she won't be able to come to the wedding.
Gillian: Oh. Then we'll take her back together. And we'll win her back together. And from now on, Jake, we're going to do everything together.

Ryan: Liza. Hi. It's Ryan. Listen, you got to block some time for me this afternoon. Gillian is marrying Jake for all the wrong reasons. And you got to help me stop the wedding.
