ALL MY CHILDREN

FEBRUARY 9, 2000

Rae: Tad.
Tad: Oh, hey, sweetheart. Are you ok?
Rae: Yeah, I'm ok. You brought my sunglasses, didn't you?
Tad: Yeah.
Rae: And is the press -- are they outside?
Tad: Now, listen, you're very lucky. The stringers went back to the newsroom hours ago or home to bed.
Rae: Ok, ok, ok.
Tad: Take it easy, all right?
Rae: Ok, yeah.
Tad: Listen, Adrian, I'm sorry about last night. I tried to get Judge Kenelly out of bed, and he told me to -- well, I don't think I'll go into what he told me to do.
Rae: Listen, I do appreciate what you're doing. It really wasn't so bad.
Adrian: Yeah, well, speak for yourself.
Dixie: Tad?
Tad: Yeah?
Dixie: I got your message. What's going on?
Tad: Uh -- hi, guys. How are you? Listen, why don't you stand over here with your uncle. Honey, come here.

Dixie: What?
Tad: What are the boys doing here?
Dixie: What do you mean, what are they doing here? I was on my way to school, I checked my voice mail, I got your message saying to meet you here. I thought something happened. I mean, what was I supposed to do? You weren't even home this morning when I woke up.
Tad: I know. It's my fault. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's about me. It's about Adrian and Rae. They were both just arraigned, but I'll tell you about it later.
Dixie: Oh, ok. I guess I should get the kids out of here before they find out, huh?

Junior: So you were arrested and spent the night in jail?
Adrian: Uh -- yeah.
Dixie: Great. Too late.
Jamie: But you're still coming to my class today, right?
Adrian: Yeah, this afternoon, remember? Mrs. Miller's social studies class. I'll be there.
Jamie: Uncle Adrian's talking to my class for black history month.
Derek: Wow. What a paragon.
Dixie: Ok, kids, let's let Adrian do his business, all right?
Jamie: Hey, wait till my class hears uncle Adrian got arrested. Just like Dr. Martin Luther King.
Adrian: Well -- come here, guys. Listen, things aren't always what they seem, ok? People get arrested for all sorts of reasons. That's what happened to Dr. King. The police didn't understand what he was really all about, and out of fear, they arrested him. And unfortunately that sort of thing still happens to this day.
Derek: What? Are you comparing a sit-in to a break-in?

Hayley: Thanks, Winifred.
Mateo: Here you go. Thank you.
Winifred: You're welcome.
Hayley: Are you sure? It's not too late. We can be out that door and halfway down the driveway by the time he gets downstairs.
Mateo: Will you stop it. I want to go right now. Now, don't temp me, all right? We have to get it over with. We have to tell him, but your dad's going to freak. A fire's going to come out of his ears.
Hayley: Let him blow. We're here as a courtesy, anyway. We're not here to ask his permission.
Mateo: Right.
Hayley: Just let him hear it from us before he hears it from somebody else or reads it in "The Bulletin."
Mateo: Right, right, right.

Liza: Hi.
Mateo: Hi.
Hayley: Hi, Liza.
Liza: I didn't know you guys were here.
Hayley: Yeah, here to see Dad.
Mateo: Yeah, yeah, Winifred went to get him.
Liza: Oh. Well, I was on my way to the kitchen. I'll give you guys privacy.
Hayley and Mateo: No, no, no.
Hayley: Stay, stay. You should be in on this, too.
Mateo: Yeah, yeah. We have some news.
Liza: Yeah?
Mateo: Yeah.
Liza: Well, if the smiles are any indication, must be really spectacular news.
Hayley: It is. It is.
Liza: Good.

Adam: Hayley. You wanted to see me. Hello, Mateo.
Hayley: Hi. Dad, you want to sit down?
Adam: No, not really. Has everyone had breakfast? Winifred could bring in some coffee and croissants.
Hayley: Oh, no, no, we can't stay, Dad. We just came to tell you that --
Adam: Tell me what?
Mateo: We're getting married.
Adam: That's wonderful news. I hope you'll both be very happy.

Ryan: Gillian, you've got your whole life -- your whole life to raise a family of your own. Why take part in a scheme to take a little girl from her mother?
Gillian: Because -- we're doing this because it's the best thing to do for Colby. Jake always does what's best for Colby. That's why he deserves to be her father.
Ryan: He is her father.
Gillian: I mean, to be her full-time father. He wants to be with her all the time. That's what I want, too.
Ryan: If you're so sure that what you're saying is right, then why aren't you happy?
Gillian: I am.

Gillian: Why are you always so good to me?
Jake: Because I know that you love me, no matter what your dreams tell you.
Gillian: But what if you found out something about me and you stopped loving me?
Jake: What could possibly do that?
Gillian's voice: "On the night of my car accident, I learned that Colby's Adam chandler's biological daughter. Adam knew this all along. Liza found out just after I did. They can explain how this horrible thing is true. Liza was destroyed by the news and asked me not to tell you. I agreed because we both know that you are the best father for Colby."

Gillian: Please, please, please let Jake understand and forgive me, God. Please --
Jake: Morning prayers? Didn't mean to scare you.
Gillian: No, no, I was -- I spilled some juice. I was just wiping it off.
Jake: Feeling all right?
Gillian: I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm the last person you need to worry about.
Jake: I'll always worry about you. I love you.
Gillian: You do? Still?
Jake: Yeah. I do.
Gillian: Oh, Jake. You're too good to be true.
Jake: Gillian, I will always love you. I told you that. Gillian: I didn't know what to expect
Jake: What, me to fall out of love with you overnight?
Gillian: No, but I let you sleep all night on the couch.
Jake: You think because you let me sleep on the couch, I'm just going to quit our relationship just like that? Hey. No, look, I got up at, like, 3:00 In the morning, went and crashed at -- there's guest room next to Colby's room.
Gillian: You went upstairs?
Jake: No, I didn't. I staggered upstairs. Hey, lighten up. Lighten up. Gillian?
Gillian: I'm just being silly.
Jake: Look, ok, from now on, when I wake up in the morning, whether you wake me up or not, I don't care. I love you more and more, not less.
Gillian: I'm just having the jitters. Grandmama said that my emotions would be all over the place.
Jake: Well, I'll let you in on a little secret. I'm a little nervous myself.
Gillian: Are you really?
Jake: Yeah. Yeah. I don't like being in front of large groups of people. The worst was this paper I had to deliver at a conference last year. Oh, I won't even get into it. You thought your weather girl audition was bad? I had an audition for the medical news spot. It was horrible. Horrible.
Gillian: The one David's doing now?
Jake: Yes. I gladly conceded it to him. I don't know. I'm afraid that I'm going to forget things to say or I'm going to say things that I should forget. I'm hoping everybody's going to be looking at you.
Gillian: Well, I'm going to be looking at my handsome groom. You're going to be fine.
Jake: I know I'll be fine. And you'll be fine. And I don't want you to think that I'm nervous about us getting married. It's everything else. It's all the fuss of getting married. Why don't we make a pact? From now on, prewedding jitters will be banished.
Gillian: How did I get so lucky to have such a man like you?
Jake: No, I was the lucky one.
Jake: I have to shower and shave because I'm going to go to Myrtle's. Look like a human for a change.
Gillian: Yeah, that's right. We have the prewedding party at Myrtle's. Listen, can I just meet you there? I have a little shopping to do.
Jake: All right. I got to come back and pick up Colby. I let her sleep. I told Stella to let her sleep.
Gillian: Ok. Well, I can get her if you want to --
Jake: No, I want to come back and get her.
Gillian: Ok.
Jake: And relax. I know it makes you nervous. It makes me nervous, too, but this is it. This is the home stretch. Tomorrow, it'll all be over.

Gillian: I hope so. Jake: I'll see you soon. You're so sweet. Bye.
Gillian: Bye.

Gillian: Where is it?
Gillian: He didn't read it. Eugenia's voice: It is not a coincidence. It's fate. The fates are conspiring to keep Liza's secret and to help you preserve your husband's happiness -- and your own happiness.
Gillian: Maybe Grandmama's right. He didn't read it. He didn't find out the truth, so maybe I wasn't supposed to tell him. Maybe he wasn't supposed to know.

Derek: Dr. King practiced nonviolent, civil disobedience as a form of social protest.
Adrian: Even if he had to break a few laws, which is what I was doing last night.
Jamie: Yeah. Why were you arrested?
Dixie: Ok, guys, why don't we just get back to school, ok?
Adrian: No, no, no. Actually, Jamie, you asked a very fair question, and I think I should answer it. There are people out there who exploit women by stealing their babies.
Jamie: No kidding.
Junior: Yeah, no kidding.
Rae: Actually, it happened to me. I had my baby stolen from me a long time ago. She was taken across state lines and sold to another family. Your Uncle Adrian is trying to help me find her right now and to put a stop to the people who do this kind of thing.
Derek: Look, Dr. Cummings, it's a shame what happened to you and I'm glad you're getting help finding your baby, but I would love to shut down operations like those myself. In fact, I get paid to do so.
Tad: Ok, ok. Why don't we just calm down, all right? Or maybe you both should do Mrs. Miller's social studies class. Turn it into a debate.
Derek: You know, I would like that, Tad.

Man: Dr. Rae? Dr. Rae, how about a statement?
Rae: No.
Reporter: Is it true that you were arrested last night for breaking and entering? Ooh, the spy who came in from the cold. That's a pretty big gun you got as a sidekick, doc. What exactly were you after?

Adam: I don't understand. Did I miss the punch line?
Hayley: You are the punch line.
Mateo: Yeah.
Hayley: Well, actually, I think we are the punch line.
Mateo: I think the joke's on us.
Hayley: Yeah.
Adam: Well, you're delirious. Should I be worried?
Liza: No, I think they're happy.
Adam: Well, I'm happy for them.
Hayley: There you go again. What's with the Stuart impersonation, Dad?
Adam: I can't be happy for my own daughter?
Hayley: Well --
Mateo: You're really ok with this?
Adam: Yes, of course I am. Why shouldn't I be? You're Hayley's choice. You've turned into a fine young man.
Mateo: Wait a minute. Two weeks ago you were kicking me out of her hospital room. I was banned from this house over the summer. What are you talking about?
Adam: All right, but the past is past. You two have decided to start over again. Well, there's no reason you and I can't do the same thing.
Mateo: All right.
Hayley: Is this for real?
Adam: Liza married me and made me a better man. Because of her, I'm a better husband. Because of you, I'm a better father.
Hayley: Because of me? I get it. This is part of Tad's new show, right? Where are the cameras?
Liza: There aren't any cameras. He's just playing strictly for me. You see, Jake is suing me for full custody.
Hayley: I know. I heard.
Mateo: Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. I know how tough custody battles can be.
Liza: Yeah. Thank you. It is because I thought time might help some of it, and it hasn't. Jake is really pushing it, so Adam has agreed to help me fight the custody battle, and that has required some extreme measures.
Hayley: How extreme?
Liza: Well, we're tabling the divorce right now. And we're staying together for now.
Adam: We want to the judge to see a stable family environment right here for Colby.
Hayley: With you as father of the year. Liza, are you crazy?
Adam: She's come to me for help.
Hayley: That's kind of a cruel joke here.
Adam: Well, you're hardly an unbiased source on the matter. You're still bitter about the way your grew up.
Hayley: We're not talking about me. And besides, I had a father.
Adam: Yes, yes, I'm very grateful to Harry Vaughan for helping to raise you.
Hayley: He was a better parent than my own mother.
Liza: Sometimes it's not just biology.
Adam: But I'm still your father. And I would love to have had the opportunity to have raised and to have provided for you and to love you. Mateo, you can understand this.
Mateo: Yeah, I understand it. I don't think anybody's disputing anything you're saying -- or I don't think Hayley is.
Hayley: No, I'm not, and I'm not blaming you, and I'm not trying to make you feel sorry for me here. You know, my father, Harry, did the best he could, you know, especially considering who his partner was.
Adam: It kills me that you had to grow up in that house with that drunken mother of yours.
Hayley: Ok. Please, Dad. I don't want to talk about me or Arlene, really.
Mateo: Yeah. You know what? We came here, we said what we had to say. Let's just go, ok?
Adam: Please, wait. Just wait, please. Hayley, you're wrong. This is about you and me and Junior and Skye and all of the precious moments that I missed when you were children. I'll never get that time back.
Hayley: And so you're trying to make up for it with Colby?
Adam: No, I'm not trying to make up for it. I just want to try to get it right this time.
Hayley: But she's not your child, Dad. She's Jake's daughter. The position of father has already been filled.

Jake: Myrtle!
Myrtle: Hi, Jake.
Jake: Wow. The place looks beautiful. You up all night?
Myrtle: No. First thing this morning. But you look as if you were. Big night at the hospital?
Jake: Oh, no, no, no. Big night on the sofa. I slept on the sofa at Wildwind.
Myrtle: Aha -- couldn't pull yourself away.
Jake: Yeah, something like that. Wow. Something smells heavenly. What is it?
Myrtle: Well, that is my chicken paprikash and my beef goulash.
Jake: Wow. Myrtle.
Myrtle: Yes, I'm trying to make Hungarian dishes for Gillian.
Jake: Oh, she's going to love that, really, and especially since Eugenia's back in Budapest.
Myrtle: Oh, will she be back in time?
Jake: Eugenia -- yeah. She's going to make it a quick trip. But I hope she comes back soon. I think Gillian's really missing her.
Myrtle: Oh, well, she may. You know, she's like a mother to her. And a girl needs a mother at a time like this.
Jake: Myrtle, I'm -- I'm concerned that I'm putting too much pressure on Gillian.
Myrtle: Oh?
Jake: Yeah, with moving the wedding up, and I'm worried about her. I think she's got a lot to think about with the wedding and the custody battle, and she really hasn't been out of the hospital that long.
Myrtle: Well, is she shaky?
Jake: Yeah. This morning, she was upset about me sleeping on the sofa, about making me sleep on the sofa, and she thought that I was going to end the relationship over it, and --
Myrtle: Oh.
Jake: She said it was nerves.
Myrtle: But -- Jake, Jake, it could be more than that, you know.
Jake: Like what?
Myrtle: Well, Gillian and Ryan had such a back-and-forth marriage. She might just be a little afraid of being hurt again.

[Knock on door]

Ryan: Gillian.
Gillian: I had to see you.
Ryan: Come in.
Gillian: I didn't like how we left things at the boathouse.
Ryan: No, neither did I.
Gillian: I left you thinking that I was unsure of how I was feeling or what I was doing.
Ryan: Well, aren't you?
Gillian: No, you were right. I wasn't sure, and --
Ryan: Gillian --
Gillian: But now I know. I know who I'm supposed to be with.

Jake: I'd never hurt Gillian. I want the marriage to work.
Myrtle: Well, of course you do.
Jake: Well, then she should just trust that.
Myrtle: Well, I think she wants to, darling, but you have to remember that Gillian's had a lifetime of loneliness and disappointment, and this roller coaster marriage with Ryan is simply a repetition of everything she's known all her life.
Jake: All that's going to change. She's going to be my wife, Myrtle. She's not going to be lonely. She's not going to be scared. It's going to be the fairy tale princess with a happy ending. She's going to be cherished and adored by everyone.
Myrtle: You are a good man, Jake.
Jake: Thank you.
Myrtle: And I hope you'll have the world on a cloud, both of you.
Jake: Thank you, Myrtle. I already feel like I'm up there.

Gillian: It's Jake. I'm supposed to be with Jake.
Ryan: Give it some more thought.
Gillian: You know, sometimes the answers are right in front of your eyes. You are my past. Jake is my future.
Ryan: You couldn't possibly know that for sure, Gillian.
Gillian: Yes, I can. I can. I'm going to marry Jake.
Ryan: But there is no such thing as a sure thing, Gillian. You can't tell the future.
Gillian: I had a sign.
Ryan: You had a what?
Gillian: I got proof. I got proof that I'm supposed to be with Jake more than once. I mean, you'd probably call it a coincidence.
Ryan: You're making a decision that could change the rest of your life based on a coincidence?
Gillian: Ryan, you can make fun of it all you want, but I'm going to marry Jake.
Ryan: We're talking about your life, Gillian, your happiness.
Gillian: That's right. It's my life, my happiness, so let me decide what's right for me.
Ryan: How can you say what's right for you is to turn your back on us? We're not through, Gillian. Stop running away from the truth.
Gillian: That is your truth, not mine.
Ryan: Really? Well, I think you're still in love with me. I asked you how you can marry another man when we still make each other feel the way that we do, and you avoid the question. Well, this time I need you to answer me. Are you still in love with me?
Ryan: Tell me you don't feel this.

Mateo: Boy, look at the time. We should be going.
Adam: I was with Colby when she was born, Hayley, and I've been with her nearly every day since. As far as I'm concerned, she's my daughter, and I couldn't love her more.
Hayley: That's lovely. But your paternal feelings don't override Jake's rights. Now, if he were a lousy father, that would be one thing. But he's not. He's a wonderful father.
Adam: Why are you taking his side?
Hayley: He's her biological father!
Liza: He's trying to take Colby away from her biological mother.
Hayley: Which is why I don't understand why you would use Adam as the weapon. It's because of Adam that you're in this position in the first place.
Adam: Why are you saying that to her?
Adam: I've made some mistakes.
Hayley: The list is endless.
Adam: Liza has forgiven me. Why can't you?
Hayley: I'm ready.
Mateo: Let's go.
Adam: You're walking out on me when I need your support the most?
Hayley: Oh. I see what this is all about. You're counting on me not to say anything negative about you. Am I right?
Liza: Hayley, Leslie Coulson is going to do everything she can to discredit Adam as a parent. We pretty much think that she's going to put you on the stand and she's going to ask you questions about what kind of father he was.
Adam: If she does, Hayley, what will you say?

Derek: Hey, hey, stop flashing those flashes in here!
Rae: I have nothing to say.
Adrian: Look, one more shot with that camera, and I'm going to take that --
Tad: Wait, wait. All right, just relax, ok? Just take it easy. Fellows, can you give him some room, please? What the hell are you trying to do, get arrested again?

Reporter: Tad, what's your role in all of this? I mean, why was your brother and the doctor breaking into a prominent attorney's office?
Tad: No, no, no. I've got no comment, all right? Would you knock it -- what is your problem?
Adrian: Oh, yeah. Way to go there, Cool Hand Luke.

Lyle: Excuse me. I'm Attorney Wedgewood. I'll make a statement.

Rae: What the hell is this about?
Tad: All right, don't panic.
Rae: What is he doing here?
Tad: Take it easy. Try not to let him get to you, ok?
Rae: Well, he's getting to me, ok? He's here to gloat, and you know it. My picture is going to be smeared across every tabloid paper in this country, and I'm never going to find my daughter. You know that.
Dixie: Don't say that. Don't even think that.

Adrian: All right, guys. Heads up.
Lyle: Doctor? I've taken care of your reporter situation, and I can assure that there will be no coverage of your arrest.
Rae: Really? Well, isn't that generous of you. I'm about to be arraigned. You going to have a little talk with the judge, as well?
Lyle: Well, I can arrange to have the charges against you and your accomplice completely dismissed on one condition.
Tad: What's the condition?
Lyle: Well, actually, it hinges on you, Mr. Martin.
Tad: Go on.
Lyle: Well, simply put, if you and the doctor go away, the charges against her and her accomplice go away as well. See, I don't like being a target. If you'll abandon this sting operation of yours, it'll all end right here. There will be no more videotaping, no more contact, and no more harassment of any kind. Deal?
Tad: Well, it's not like we have a choice, is it? Deal.
Lyle: Wise decision, Mr. Martin. Nice doing business with you. Lieutenant, can I speak to you?
Derek: Sure.

Dixie: Everything all right?
Adrian: Yeah, everything's fine. Tad arranged to have all the charges dropped.
Rae: Yeah.
Adrian: Thanks.
Rae: Yeah, thanks. You know, now we're just going to back off when we know that he's up to his eyeballs in baby brokering. Look, I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I really don't. I know you did this to protect me.
Tad: Don't mention it. Look, why don't we get all of the paperwork taken care of and I'll drive you both home.
Rae: Yeah, good. Can you give me just a minute, please?
Adrian: I got to take care of this. I'll be right back.

Rae: Mr. Wedgewood, since you know I'm the one that broke into your office, I have a question about something I saw there.
Lyle: We're not supposed to speak of this again.
Rae: Do you know who Fannie Battle is? Please.
Lyle: Please stay out of this. For the last time, back off. Rae: I can't. I have to know.
Lyle: You've been warned, Dr. Cummings. You've been warned.

Adrian: Hey, Lt. Frye says that we're free to go. Rae, you ok?
Rae: Yeah. Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Listen, Adrian --
Adrian: Yeah?
Rae: I'm sorry I got you arrested last night. I know you were only trying to help me.
Adrian: That's all right. We got a lead, right?
Rae: Yeah, a name. Now, if I only knew who she was or where she was, huh? Do me a favor. Would you tell Tad that I'm going to take a cab home, all right?
Adrian: All right.
Rae: Thanks again.

Adam: Well, Hayley, can we depend on you to help us?
Hayley: I would be under oath. I'd be expected to tell the truth.
Adam: Define "the truth."
Hayley: The truth is the truth. You know, it needs no definition. It is what is it.
Liza: It would be helpful to know what you were going to say when Leslie Coulson questions you.
Hayley: I know that, Liza. I'm just not -- I'm not ready to get into this discussion right now.
Adam: Fine. Fine. Just say you'll help us --
Mateo: Adam, come on. I mean, she said she doesn't want to get into it right now. You know, we came over here just to share our news with you, to tell you we're getting married.
Adam: A child's future is at stake here.
Mateo: But it doesn't hinge on this conversation.
Liza: You're right. He's right. They came over here to share that they're getting married, Adam.
Adam: I don't want to talk about their getting married. I want to talk about why my own flesh and blood won't support us when we need her the most.
Hayley: That's not fair.
Liza: Hayley, please, don't take it that way.
Adam, you're not helping.

Barry: Hello, all. The door was unlocked, so I let myself in. Am I interrupting a family meeting or --

Jake: Myrtle, I have to shower and shave. I got to get back to Wildwind and pick up Colby before the guests arrive.
Myrtle: Oh, Colby. Is she going to join us?
Jake: Oh, yeah, yeah. She wouldn't miss it.
Myrtle: Jake, you know, I am so proud of you. I remember when you first came back to Pine Valley, pulling that terrible the wreck of a boat. And you didn't know what you wanted. You didn't know whether you wanted medicine or to be a doctor like your dad.
Jake: I didn't really know pretty much anything at that point. I did know I didn't want to be called Joey anymore.
Myrtle: Well, you're not confused now, that's for sure.
Jake: No, I'm not. I have a little beacon in the form of a little sweet, drooling girl. I'm a father, and somehow my little girl helps me find my place in this world, better than any leaky boat ever could.
Myrtle: Yeah, being a parent must be a magical feeling.
Jake: I love it. How come you never had kids, Myrtle? I think you'd be fabulous mother.
Myrtle: Oh -- well, timing is everything, you know? And you've got to remember I was -- I was a Carny girl and I was moving from town to town. And, well, you can't expect a child to pull up stakes every three days. No, no, a child -- a child needs good, strong roots, you know, like the kind that you are going to give -- you and Gillian -- are going to give Colby.
Jake: Well, it's too bad. I think you would have made a wonderful parent.
Myrtle: Thank you. Well, you know, sometimes in life you've got to make hard choices. And I did. I guess it wasn't meant to be for me.

Gillian: Ryan, please.
Ryan: Please what? Please stop asking you these questions? You can't avoid them for the rest of your life, Gillian.
Gillian: You avoided them. You knew I loved you. I told you I loved you, but you pushed me away all the time.
Ryan: I was an idiot. I'm sorry. It was my fault.
Gillian: No. It wasn't your fault, and you're not an idiot. You just are what you are.
Ryan: My God, Gillian. I'm so sorry. When you look at me, all you see is the man that hurt you.
Gillian: No, it's not true.
Ryan: If I could -- I could just change that, take it all back, somehow make you forget all that --
Gillian: You can't. And I glad you can't because I want to remember the good times and the bad times. You've made me who I am. I've grown up because of you, and I know what kind of a man I want in my life because of you. It's Jake that I'm going to marry.
Ryan: If you truly love Jake the way that you loved me, then I'll be happy for you. I will. But if you're settling for him because you're afraid --
Gillian: I am not settling for him, and I'm not afraid of anything.
Ryan: Well, then you have nothing to be this defensive about unless what I'm saying to you is true.

Adam: Barry, this isn't a good time.
Hayley: We're leaving.
Liza: Hayley, please don't leave like this.
Adam: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you like that - of course I'm interested in your wedding. I want to help you plan it, pay for it.
Mateo: No, no, no, no, no. We're going to do this ourselves.
Hayley: Our own way. Adam: All right, fine. Fine. Will you at least let me walk you down the aisle? There will be an aisle?
Hayley: Yes, there will be an aisle. And, yes, you can walk me down it. You are my father, after all.

Liza: She sounded really thrilled, didn't she? I'm going to walk them to their car.

Barry: What's going on? Why haven't you called me about the custody hearing? It's only a few days off. You don't even have a game plan.
Adam: I don't need a plan.
Barry: Stuart?
Adam: No, I am not Stuart. And I'm not worried about this stupid custody hearing. I am Colby's father. When that comes out, it's over. All I have to worry about is the best way to reveal my paternity.
Barry: So you do have a plan.
Adam: Of course I do. I'm not worried about getting Colby back. The trick is to get Liza along with her.
Barry: Now, don't take your eye off the ball quite yet. Jake Martin and his attorney are putting up one hell of a fight.
Adam: Are they really? Well, the harder they work to take Colby away from her mother, the closer I am to getting exactly what I want.

Tad: You're all set.
Adrian: Cool.
Tad: Where's Rae?
Adrian: She headed out. She said she'd take a cab.
Dixie: Guys, why don't you run out to the car and wait for me there, ok? I'll be out in a second.
Jamie: You're still coming to my class, right?
Adrian: Oh, yeah. You bet. Listen, you want to give me a lift to the car? I need to make a few stops before I make my guest appearance.
Tad: You bet.
Adrian: Come on, guys. Let's go. Let's blow this pop stand.
Tad: Guys --
Jamie and Junior: Don't break anything.

Dixie: Rae seemed really upset.
Tad: Yeah, especially now that she knows Wedgewood's her man.
Dixie: I was a little surprised that you accepted that deal so quickly. I can understand in the situation why you did it, but it didn't really seem like you, Tad.
Tad: Sure, it did. I lied.
Dixie: Ah.

Myrtle: Darling, I would not have asked Adrian to help you if I had known he was going to get you into all these shenanigans.
Rae: No, no, no. Myrtle, it's not his fault. He followed me to the office. I did this.
Myrtle: Darling, Wedgewood -- he's dangerous. He's connected with the underworld.
Rae: You know what? I don't care. I needed answers. And you know what? I got a lead.
Myrtle: Oh, did you? Did you?
Rae: Yes, I found his planner. In 1999 and in it was my husband's name, Daniel. And under it was my name and then another name -- Fannie Battle. You know what, Myrtle? I don't know. You think maybe that could be my daughter?
Myrtle: Oh, well, now, I -- I wouldn't jump to conclusions -- quick ones -- if I were you.
Rae: Ok.
Myrtle: What are you going to do?
Rae: I think I'm going to take a long hot bath. And then I'm going to start my search for Fannie Battle, Myrtle. Ok.

Myrtle: Hello. Operator, I want a listing for Illinois. Elsah, Illinois. The name is Fannie Battle.

Gillian: You are so full of yourself. I don't want to love Jake the way I loved you. That doesn't mean that I love him any less.
Ryan: What we had was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love, Gillian. Passion. Do you remember? That kind of love --
Gillian: It burns out as fast as it comes. I want something that'll last. I want Jake, Ryan. Accept that and leave me alone.
Ryan: Is that really what you want?
Gillian: Yes, it is. Good-bye, Ryan.
Ryan: Gillian -- [Ryan grabs Gillian and they kiss]
