ALL MY CHILDREN

JANUARY 21, 2000

Liza: What are you doing?
Adam: I didn't plan that. I -- just couldn't help myself.
Liza: Really? Did you enjoy it?
Adam: Oh, yes.
Liza: And you'll never forget it?
Adam: No. Very unlikely.
Liza: Good. Because it's the last time you'll ever get one like it. I don't ever want you near me ever again. Now, sit down.
Adam: I love you. And I believe you love me, too.
Liza: Believe whatever you want, Adam.
Adam: You can't deny that kiss we just shared. There was something there. You felt it, too. I know you did.
Liza: There could have been a symphony involved in that kiss, Adam, and it doesn't matter. Now, please, sit down.
Adam: It does matter!
Liza: No, it doesn't! Chemistry has never been a problem with us. Honesty has. Honesty and everything that came along with it. Trust, respect, appreciation --
Adam: I appreciate you. I respect you.
Liza: Really? Is that why you bred me?
Adam: Don't say that. I did what I did for us.
Liza: Let go of me. Any little shred of hope that I had for either one of us is gone. You killed it.
Adam: As long as we have Colby, we still have hope.
Liza: Oh, I was wondering how long it would take you to use her. You will not use my daughter.
Adam: I'm not using her. She's my daughter, too. Where is she?
Liza: She's with her father. Adam: Jake Martin is not her father. I am. You can't change that.
Liza: No. But I can make sure she never steps foot in this house again.
Adam: No -- all right, you don't need to threaten me. I've done everything you asked me to do, Liza. I didn't tell Jake. And, believe me, I had plenty of opportunities.
Liza: Oh, I'm sure that probably killed you.
Adam: This is killing me. I've kept my word. Shouldn't that count for something?

Becca: And that's Eli, Ryan, and Tiffany. Everyone, this is Mallory. She and I work together at the soup kitchen sometimes.
Mallory: Other times I'm at PVU.
Ryan: Welcome, Mallory.
Eli: Can I get you something to drink?
Mallory: Some ginger ale? Oh, where shall I put this?
Becca: Oh.
Eli: Oh, I'll show you.
Becca: Yeah. Eat. Fun, fun, fun.
Ryan: She seems upbeat.
Tiffany: Yeah, Eli thinks so, too.
Becca: Oh.

[Key turns in lock]

Ryan: It's Scott!
Becca: Oh, my -- shh, shh. Everyone hide! Quick, hide. Ryan, get the lights.
Ryan: Ok.

Group: Surprise!

Scott: What's going on? It's not my birthday.
Becca: Well, it's a good thing, because this isn't a birthday party. Congratulations for getting into film school!
Scott: Wow.
Ryan: Congratulations.
Scott: Thank you. Look at this. Look at this. You guys went all out. I'm touched. And presents. Hey, presents and everything.
Ryan: Well, not quite everything. No cake with candles.
Scott: Oh, well --
Becca: But we do have cake. Right, Ryan?
Ryan: You know what I'll do, is I'll douse it with brandy, set it on fire --
Becca: No, no. Don't you dare. Please.
Ryan: Oh, ok.
Scott: Well, presents are real, right?
Becca: Yes.
Tiffany: But no presents till we toast you, and I'll get the drinks.

Scott: Becca, I don't know what to say. This is great. Thank you.
Becca: Um -- you weren't really surprised, were you?
Scott: Sure I was. Didn't you see my face when I walked in?
Becca: Yes, and it's a good thing you're going to be behind the cameras instead of in front of them.
Scott: That bad, huh?
Becca: Well, I don't think anyone else noticed. So, how'd you find out?
Scott: Oh, it's not important how I found out. It's still great. I appreciate you doing this for me.
Becca: You're welcome. But when did you put it together?
Scott: I didn't put it together. Someone let it slip accidentally.
Becca: Who? It couldn't be anyone here, could it? Oh. So it had to be someone not here.

Greenlee: Surprise! Are we too late?
Becca: Accidentally, my foot.

Edmund: Hi, Alex.
Alex: Oh, my goodness. Hello. What are you doing here?
Edmund: I was looking for you. The nurse said you were doing your rounds.
Alex: Yes. Just about done, actually.
Edmund: Ok, good. Would like to join me for dinner and go over these foundation papers?
Alex: Oh.
Edmund: Well, dinner?
Alex: I don't think I've eaten today. I don't want to go over those.
Edmund: All right, well, that settles it. I'll make reservations. Ok?
Alex: You know what? I can't leave the hospital. There's a patient I want to keep an eye on.
Rae: Hey. I got your message that you called, wanted to see me. Hi, Edmund.
Edmund: Hi.
Rae: How are you? I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I'm not, am I?
Alex: No, no, no, no.
Edmund: No, no, we were just talking about --
Alex: Food.
Edmund: Cafeteria food, yes.
Alex: Yeah, sorry.
Edmund: I'll see if I can bring us back something edible. Yeah.
Alex: Good luck.
Edmund: Yeah.

Alex: Hi.
Rae: Hi.
Alex: You didn't need to rush over here. I just called you.
Rae: No, no, I didn't. I was already in the hospital, actually. I'm doing a report on an adoption story.
Alex: Oh.
Rae: I was very pleased, though, that you called. Even encouraged.
Alex: Oh, it's not about me.
Rae: Ah.
Alex: No, it's a patient of mine, a little girl.
Rae: Oh.
Alex: She's suddenly stopped speaking, and I can't find anything neurological or physical that's wrong with her. So I think it's psychological.
Rae: So you're calling me in for a consultant?
Alex: Yeah. I think that she would feel comfortable with you.
Rae: Oh.
Alex: Whatever it is, we're going to have to approach it carefully because she seems so traumatized. I have a feeling that there might be abuse in the family.
Rae: Ah. Well, you know, that is always a possibility.
Alex: Yeah. What do you think?
Rae: Where is she?
Alex: Great. She's right in there.
Rae: Ok.
Alex: I want to bring these books. Hang on a second.
Hi, sweetie. Hi. This is a friend of mine. This is Dr. Cummings -- Rae. Rae, this is Karen.
Rae: Hello, Karen.
Alex: So, Rae has her own radio show. Isn't that cool?
Rae: Ta-da.
Alex: Yeah. People call up and they talk to her about their problems. And then when she's not on the radio, she talks to people person to person. And that way they can tell her what's really bothering them. You know, sort of talk about the private things that they wouldn't like anyone else to hear. I know, sweetheart. Sometimes these things are very frightening to talk about at first. But you're safe here. You have no reason to feel afraid. You can talk about anything you want. Anything at all.

Adrian: Hey. How's it going?
Mateo: "How's it going"? I've been working on this thing all day, and it's still leaking. Look at that. It's just flowing right into the drain. What am I doing wrong?
Adrian: I don't know, but don't waste my time. Don't waste yours, either. Get back to work.

Adrian: Hayley.
Hayley: Adrian, hi.
Adrian: Uh-huh. Looking for someone?
Hayley: Yeah, is Mateo around tonight?
Adrian: Yeah, as a matter of fact, he is behind the bar working on the leaky beer tap. You want me to get him for you?
Hayley: Oh. Maybe I shouldn't bother him.
Adrian: Well, actually, you'd be doing me a huge favor. He has been working on that thing for about an hour and a half. If you can preoccupy him for about 15 minutes, I can have it fixed myself. What do you say?
Hayley: Sounds familiar.

Tina: Hayley, hi.
Hayley: Oh, hi.
Tina: I am so sorry about your uncle. I mean, it's got to be a terrible mistake. Hey, I've met him here a couple of times, and even I could see he was a straight-up guy. Anyway, see, I really hope everything turns out ok.
Hayley: Thanks a lot.
Tina: You're welcome.

Adrian: Hey, listen, partner, there's a customer that needs your assistance. Why don't you let me take it from here.
Mateo: Oh, no, no, no, no. I think I got this thing. You handle it.
Adrian: Well, actually, I think she'd like it if you handled her yourself.
Mateo: You ok?
Hayley: Hmm. Everything's a mess. Just hold me, please.
Mateo: Is everything ok? How are Amanda and Janet holding up?
Hayley: Barely. Brooke is over there with them now.
Mateo: Well, that's good.
Hayley: Yeah. Leave it to Uncle Trevor. He called Brooke, asked her to go over there and keep an eye on Janet.
Mateo: What do you mean keep an eye on her?
Hayley: Just, you know, to watch out for her, make sure that she's ok.
Mateo: Do you know more about what happened that night than you're saying?
Hayley: I can't get into it right now with you. I just --
Mateo: All right.
Hayley: I just needed you, is all. I just had this overwhelming urge to touch base.
Mateo: Hey, anytime.
Hayley: I should go.
Mateo: Yeah. Hey, listen, listen. Why don't you -- why don't you stay? I mean, Brooke's there, right? Stay. Decompress. Relax.
Hayley: Yeah, I guess. It's awful, you know? When I'm here I feel like I should be there. But when I'm there I feel so useless, so -- I mean, I had no idea that uncle Trevor and Janet were dealing with, like, life-and-death issues.
Mateo: Well, I mean, how could you know? They were hiding it from everyone.
Hayley: I was living with them. You know, maybe if I hadn't had been so caught up in my own world, I could have been there for them. But now I just have to, you know, sort of stay back and hold back, and I hate that.
Mateo: Hmm.
Hayley: What's so funny?
Mateo: It just seems to me that you admitted that you feel powerless. That's a big deal in AA., Right?
Hayley: Yeah, it is. Glad you remembered.
Mateo: You know, sometimes just being there, standing by, you know, that's the best thing you can do. It's enough.
Hayley: That's what you've been doing for me, isn't it? You've been standing by.
Mateo: Well, you know, it hasn't been easy. I've been wanting just to rush in and sweep you off your feet. You know that. But I also know it's the last thing you needed. You know, quick fixes -- they don't last. As far as you're concerned, I -- I have all the time in the world.
Hayley: You're right. Sometimes standing by is enough.
Mateo: Yeah.

Ryan: But in every other way, they were completely identical, which I didn't get.
Mallory: That's funny.

Greenlee: Nice little gathering.
Scott: Yeah, well, I'm surprised you came.
Greenlee: Oh, I wouldn't have missed it.

Ryan: So, that sounds like a good movie.
Mallory: It was.
Ryan: Yeah.
Mallory: So, are you a filmmaker, too?
Ryan: Uh, no. No, I leave that up to Scott.
Mallory: So, what do you do?
Ryan: Not enough, actually.
I sell airtime at WRCW. Mallory: Hmm.
Ryan: Yeah. You want another one?
Mallory: I'd love one.
Ryan: All right. Oh, hey. Hi.

[Leo laughs]

Leo: Becca.

[Leo whistles]

Becca: Hmm? Oh. I am so sorry.
Leo: I was telling you how much I enjoyed the other night.
Becca: Oh.
Leo: At the soup kitchen.
Becca: Yeah, it was -- you were a really good sport about it.
Leo: Are you saying that my motives were less than humanitarian?
Becca: Are you saying you want to volunteer again?

Greenlee: Sweet little gathering, Becca. You know, I can't remember the last time I had onion dip and chips.
Becca: Well, it would have been sweeter if you hadn't ruined it, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Pulling off a surprise party is a lot harder than it seems. Especially with a man as savvy as Scott.
Becca: Or with a mouth as big as yours around. Scott told me that you told him, ok? And, speaking of big mouths, you know, there's lost of chips here. So why don't you just take a few of them and stuff them.

Leo: Cute.
Greenlee: Don't you start.
Leo: I was making progress.
Greenlee: Not much. Judging by the looks of things, Becca's not giving you a second thought.
Leo: Timing is everything. Who's the new babe?
Greenlee: Nobody. It's some semi cute local in cheap shoes.
Leo: Oh, ok. Now I get it. I see why you've been such a drag all night. So Ryan dumped you.
Greenlee: Come on, we've done this party. Let's get out of here.

Liza: So you want kudos for keeping your word. Well, prepare yourself, Adam. Normal people do it every single day without the aid of threats. Now, please sit down.
Adam: Fine. Go ahead, go ahead. Take your shots. You've earned the right. Might as well enjoy yourself.
Liza: Is that what you think I'm doing? You think I'm taking pleasure in this? I didn't want to do this. I have no choice.
Adam: Of course you have a choice.
Liza: No, I don't have a choice. I didn't even have a choice in my own child's conception.
Adam: Can't you get past that and appreciate the beautiful child that the two of us made.
Liza: I thank God for Colby every day.
Adam: So do I. I've wanted to make us a family more than anything else in this world.
Liza: So did I. And we tried over and over. It's no use.
Adam: We love each other, Liza.
Liza: Yes. But it doesn't matter.
Adam: Do you realize you just admitted that you still love me?
Liza: Loving you turned me into a fool, Adam Chandler. And I'm not going to let that happen again. I would sooner tear out my heart than let that happen.
Adam: Then why did you come here tonight?
Liza: To get the divorce papers and to offer you a deal.

Alex: So, now, I had these books in my office, and I just love them. I love looking at pictures of other countries. Don't you?
Rae: You know what? So do I.
Alex: Yeah?
Rae: Yeah, it gives me an idea of all the places that I might get to go to one day. You like the scarf, Karen? Do you? It's a pretty color, isn't it? It's my favorite col-- well, actually, I really shouldn't say that because I have so many favorite colors. Do you have a favorite color?
Alex: I do.
Rae: Do you?
Alex: Yes. I like blue. Just like the sky here in this picture. You see that? Maybe you have more than one favorite color. Do you?
Rae: Do you? Can you name a color that you love?
Alex: Well, that's ok, sweetheart. You keep this book. And then maybe later you'll show me the pictures that you like the best, yeah? Ok.
Rae: It was nice to meet you, Karen. I hope I see you again very soon. Ok?
Alex: I'll be back in a little while, all right? Look at the book
Rae: Bye-bye.

Alex: What do you think?
Rae: I think she is traumatized. It's smart of you not to send her home so quickly.
Alex: Yeah, I sensed that.
Rae: How?
Edmund: Well, the selection was kind of slim, so I got you a good old burger and -- what do you call it -- chips?
Alex: Yeah, french fries. Um -- I can't eat this with you. I'm going to go to my office and make some calls. I'm going to figure out a legitimate way to keep her in the hospital.
Rae: Good.
Alex: Ok. Thank you so much, Rae.
Rae: You're welcome. Let me know, all right?
Alex: Yes, I will.
Rae: Ok.
Alex: I will call you. Thanks.

Edmund: Uh-huh. How's the kid?
Rae: Same.
Edmund: How's our friend?
Rae: Same. She's so guarded. You know, it's so fascinating to me -- she wants so much to help this little girl have a breakthrough, and yet she's terrified to have one herself.
Edmund: I wish she would let you help her.
Rae: She will, I hope, when she's ready.
Edmund: Ok. Well, maybe she's not ready for a therapist. But she could use a friend.
Rae: You know that I'm here in Pine Valley on my own kind of business. And as long as I'm here, I will do anything to help Alex. There is something I would like to ask you, though.
Edmund: Shoot.
Rae: Are your -- your concerns for her right now -- are they only as a brother-in-law, or is something else going on here?

Alex: I thought you'd gone for the evening.
David: Well, let's just say I had a change of plans. My dinner from hell ended early.
Alex: Oh. Well, since you're here, I was going to talk to the cardiologist on call about a consult. But actually, you'd be much better.
David: I should hope so. Who's your patient?
Alex: A little girl. Karen. She's suddenly stopped speaking, and I can't find any neurological or physical reason for it.
David: What about psychological trauma?
Alex: Yeah, more than likely. That's what the social worker thinks, too.
David: Well, I'd be happy to assist you, but why do you need a cardiologist?
Alex: We're trying to keep her out of the home till we can figure out the cause of the trauma. And her medical history indicates that she had a heart murmur, so I was thinking that could buy us some time.
David: Is that her chart?
Alex: Yeah.
David: Let me take a look at it.
David: No problem. With her past history, I can keep her here for observation and tests.
Alex: Oh, good. Thank you, thank you.
David: That wasn't so difficult, now, was it? Isn't it refreshing to be able to work with one another without going at each other's throats?
Alex: Yeah. Yeah, I appreciate the cooperation. But I'm not a complete idiot.
David: What is that supposed to mean?
Alex: I know what Erica did behind my back. I think it's disgusting. And I bet you had something too with it.

Liza: Jackson has explained to me every single crime you perpetrated against me.
Adam: Bully for Jack. Now let's see if he can prosecute me.
Liza: Oh, he can.
Adam: I'll take my chances.
Liza: I won't prosecute if you sign the divorce papers and you accept the custody arrangement.
Adam: Custody arrangement, huh? What might that be?
Liza: Well, I can simplify it for you. You don't get to be in her life. You don't visit her, you don't talk to her, you don't buy her presents. You don't even wave at her from across the room.
Adam: Not in a million years. Colby is my flesh and blood, and I will be part of her life one way or another.
Liza: Is that a threat?

Rae: Well, is there something else going on?
Edmund: You know, Alex and I -- we've been through a lot together.
Rae: Yes, I know that.
Edmund: And we weren't always friends -- which is, by the way, all that we are.
Rae: All right.
Edmund: Ok. You know, I used to think she was kind of an ice princess, sort of cold. But she's not. She's sort of fragile, and she's vulnerable. It's made me feel protective.
Rae: So you just want to help her?
Edmund: Yeah, that's -- my brother. He asked that we look out for each other.
Rae: So you're trying to honor your brother's wish.
Edmund: We're friends. Ok?
Rae: Edmund, I'm sorry. I'm making you feel defensive. You don't have to be. You can certainly have any feelings for Alex that you want. I just think you need to keep sort of an emotional distance right now. If we want her to open up, we need to give her time and space. That's all.

David: I had nothing to do with Erica's actions.
Alex: Oh, really? You didn't make the suggestion to her?
David: I didn't condone them. I didn't encourage them. In fact, I even asked her to stay out of our situation.
Alex: Good.
David: She promised she would back off.
Alex: Like she promised she'd stay out of it in the beginning?
David: It's over. All right? We have no intention of using your past against you. I won't ask you about your mental state, why you pushed me down a flight of stairs, Geoffrey, any of it. As far as I'm concerned, it's your business. You keep your distance and I will keep mine. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go check in on Karen, make sure she isn't released to a hostile environment.

Tina: Do you see anything you like?
Man: Oh, yeah.
Tina: On the menu.
Man: Yeah. I'm not hungry for food, so for now, why don't you just give me a boilermaker.
Second man: Yeah. Make it two. Three if you'll join us.
Tina: No can do.
Man: No? Then what can you do?
Tina: You know, I can dropkick you to Timbuktu if you do that again, jerk!

Man: Spunky little thing.
Second man: Ah, shut up. I could teach her a thing or two. But she ain't worth it. Besides, I kind of like this joint.

Adrian: Hey, hey, hey. I thought your klutz days were over.
Tina: I'm sorry. Can you just get me two boilermakers, please?
Adrian: Yeah. Coming right up.
Tina: You know what? Would you mind bringing it over to table five for me?
Adrian: Those guys giving you a hard time? Tina: Nothing I can't handle, but you might not like the way I handle it. I just might trip and dump these drinks in their hot little laps.
Adrian: Well, let them complain to management.

Man: Greenlee. How it's going?
Greenlee: Do I know you?
Man: Yeah, sure.
Greenlee: How?
Man: I guess you forgot. Your grandparents' pool -- I took care of it this summer.
Greenlee: Oh. Oh, that's right. Kenny -- the pool boy.
Man: Just Ken.
Greenlee: Sorry. Nice to see you again.
Man: You want to join us?
Leo: Thanks, but no. We'll get our own table. Shall we?
Greenlee: See you next summer.

Adrian: Now, you boys don't forget to tip the lady, huh?

Mateo: Go ahead.
Hayley: No, you go.
Mateo: No, go on.
Hayley: Oh. Do you hear us?
Mateo: I know. We're both like waiting -- we're stuttering, not wanting to make mistakes, say the wrong thing.
Hayley: Listen, listen. Why don't we stop worrying about making mistakes with each other, at least not the small ones?
Mateo: Deal.
Adrian: Hey, you two lovebirds. I don't mean to break this up, but why don't we bring this out from hiding, huh?
Hayley: Oh --
Mateo: Oh.
Hayley: No. I'm not a partner here anymore.
Adrian: Oh, well, you want to rethink that?
Hayley: Hmm -- no.
Mateo: No. No.
Hayley: I'm happy with my new job, and you two make a great team.
Mateo: Yeah. You're not thinking about bailing out on me, are you?
Adrian: Oh, yeah, right, and let you stay here and play the fix-it man? I don't think so. But I see no reason why we can't put this up in its rightful place. You know what? I think I know the perfect spot.
Hayley: No, no, no. I know the perfect spot.
Mateo: Back where it belongs.

Adam: Liza, you know me better than anyone else alive. And you know there's no way on earth that I would accept your terms, not without a shotgun to my head. So go ahead, put me in prison. But I will never give up my rights to my daughter.
Liza: Well, maybe I was being a little harsh. I don't want to drag this out.
Adam: I will fight you with everything I've got.
Liza: I'll let you see her once a month, under my supervision and not in this house.
Adam: That's a start.
Liza: It's not a start. The floor is not open for negotiations, Adam Chandler. It is my final offer. And if this isn't signed, on Jackson's desk in 24 hours, I will gleefully go to the police and watch them haul your butt off to jail!
Adam: Liza, wait.
Liza: No, I'm not --
Adam: Wait!
Liza: I am not waiting! If you want to talk to me, you can talk to me through my lawyers.
Adam: No. I'm not going to talk to your lawyer! This is between you and me! It affects you and me and Colby, all of us!
Adam: Liza, I'm not just thinking of myself here. This involves you and Colby. She's not old enough to know what's happening, not yet. But what happens when she gets older, when she finds out the truth? And she will. When she finds out that her mother willingly kept her father from her?
Liza: She will have a wonderful, loving, gentle father.
Adam: Who's an imposter, who is not her father. Too many people know that to keep it a secret forever.
Liza: No, not forever. Just until she's old enough to understand.
Adam: Oh, really? When would that be? What is the proper age for turning a child's life upside down?
Liza: How dare you. You did this. Ever since the beginning when I found out that you switched the samples, I've been thinking, "how do I tell this little girl?" All I ever wanted for her was love and security. And I knew that one day I was going to have to turn her whole world upside down and give her nothing but pain and confusion. That kills me. I am not doing this to get back at you. I am doing this to protect her. And she may hate me for it one day, or she may thank me because once she gets to know who you really are, she may thank me for keeping her --
Adam: Stop it!
Liza: Out of your clutches.
Adam: You make me sound like some kind of an evil, cold monster. I -- I can't bear that.
Liza: No, neither can I. I took pride in watching you transform, thinking that it was my love for you that did it or your love for me. Or you could conquer these demons for me.
Adam: I did. I tried.
Liza: Were you just not strong enough? Adam, the ironic thing is that all the while I was hoping you would change, I was the one who changed. I became sad and weak and stupid. And I became weepy when I should have been tough, and that's it. It's over. I'm going to find myself and I'm going to find happiness for me and my daughter.
Adam: Liza, please -- Liza. Liza, I want you to be happy. I want you to have happiness, you and Colby. Don't you believe that? Please. Before you go, before you walk out of my life forever, there's something I want you to see, something you have to understand.

Becca: The Oscar goes to -- drum roll --
Scott Chandler for the best audition tape in film school.
Ryan: An Oscar! Speech!
Man: Speech!
Ryan: Speech!
Scott: Well, uh -- I'm overwhelmed. And I haven't prepared anything, of course. But I'd like to thank the acceptance committee -- fools, all of them, yes. And my inspiration -- Becca. Thank you. And the people at WRCW and junket donuts because I like them. I really, really like them.
Ryan: Someone get the hook. This is boring.
Becca: Cue the music. Get this guy off the stage. Come here.

Mallory: So, it must be exciting working at WRCW.
Ryan: Yeah, sometimes. Sometimes.
Mallory: Becca didn't mention if you were seeing anybody or not.
Are you? Ryan: No, not really. But I'm not really looking for a relationship right now.
Mallory: That's too bad.
Ryan: Yeah. It was nice meeting you, Mallory.

Leo: So, we're here. But I get the feeling that your mind is still at the loft. Why don't you just admit that you got a thing for Ryan you know, maybe I can help.
Greenlee: You can help me with Ryan? Ok. So what should I do?
Leo: Well, first tell me why. I mean, why Ryan? What is it about him?
Greenlee: He told me it was ok for me to be me. It sounds pretty lame, right? But he meant it. I was enough, just me. And things were really good for a while, you know? He liked me and he even understood me.
Leo: But he dumped you.
Greenlee: Yeah. I got too close, I think. You know, Ryan has to take his own advice. You see, I understand him, too. He's scared to let anyone inside, but I know that if he let me, I can make him happy.

Tina: Hi. Can I get you guys something to drink, or would you like to see some menus?
Leo: Nothing for her. I'll take a margarita, menus, and some nachos, please.
Tina: Sure.
Greenlee: You know, don't you start. I'm not like my illustrious boss lady. I can handle my alcohol. Well, now -- Hayley's doing a good job of handling something else.
Leo: Hayley's an alcoholic?
Greenlee: A.A.
Tina: Here you go.
Greenlee: Hey, are Hayley and Mateo back together?
Tina: Yeah. Ever since he rescued her from that fire. You know, maybe I should turn helpless and play damsel in distress. It really worked for her. Here.
Leo: You know, it's funny. Her eyes don't look green. Greenlee? Hey.
Greenlee: Hayley's victim thing worked with Ryan, too. That's it.
Leo: Where are you going with this?
Greenlee: I have to figure out a way for Ryan to come to my rescue somehow. And I think I've got it.
Leo: The pool jockey? You got to be kidding me. What can he do?

Greenlee: Watch me lay the groundwork. Kenny.
Ken: Ahem.
Greenlee: I didn't recognize you, you know, with a shirt and without your tan. Um -- could I buy you a drink? What are you guys drinking?
Ken: Uh -- Ken. And you don't have to buy me a drink.
Greenlee: Well, maybe another time, then? I could call you. You give me your number?
Ken: Here's my card. My beeper number's on it.
Greenlee: Your beeper number. Cute. I'll beep you, then.

Man: Way to go, man. You scored.
Ken: Not yet. But I will. And I can't wait to wipe that stuck-up smirk right off her face.

Greenlee: See? Worked like a charm.
Leo: Yeah. Very nice. You just charged up young Frankenstein.
Greenlee: Well, it could be worse. It could be you.
Leo: Oh, very funny.

Hayley: Mmm, this is heaven.
Mateo: Yeah. You know what? We should take thing just like this dance -- nice and slow.
Hayley: Hmm.
Mateo: No pressure.
Hayley: Ok.
Mateo: But with lots of style.

Geoffrey: Shh. You didn't hear anything. You didn't see anything.

Alex: Oh --
Edmund: Alex.

Adam: You want to send me to prison? Have a look around, Liza. I've already had a taste of it. This is where I've been confined for the last few weeks. You want me to suffer? I've suffered. Watching you and Colby on the monitor, not being able to talk to you or touch you.
Liza: You won't have monitors in jail. You might want to talk to the warden beforehand.
Adam: Damn it, haven't I been punished enough? What would it take to make you hear me out, to really listen to what I'm saying? Why won't you at least try to understand why I've done what I've done?
Liza: Because I don't care how you feel anymore.
Adam: I don't believe you! I know you better than that. You still care about me. And you could understand if you'd just let yourself.
Liza: Is that you brought me here for is to wring tears of empathy out of me? Let me go. I'm leaving.
Adam: Come on, lay it on me. Just -- just --
Liza: No!
Adam: Give it to me.
Liza: I am not!
Adam: Get it out of your system!
Liza: I'm going to stay angry with you for the rest of my life.
Adam: Don't walk out on me, Liza.
Liza: Get away from me! I am leaving! What are you doing? What are you doing? Let go of me!
Adam: Liza --
Liza: Let go of me, Adam!
Adam: No --
Liza: What are you doing? What are you -- stop it! What have you done? What have you done?
Adam: Oh. You gave me no choice. I can't let you walk out on me.
Liza: Help! Let me out of here!
Adam: No one will hear you. Believe me, I know.
Liza: Let me out of here, now!
Adam: No, I can't. The remote's outside. We're stuck.
Liza: No. No!
Adam: Yeah. I had to make you listen! I have to make you understand and feel what you can't help feeling when we're alone together.
Liza: I am not going to listen to you. And the only thing I'm going to feel is hatred for the man I know you really are.
