ALL MY CHILDREN

JANUARY 26, 2001

Erica: Ms. Singer, what are you saying? I mean, it's almost dinner time, and you're just telling me now that my daughter never showed up at school today? Well, that's a ridiculous policy. I should have been notified immediately. I thought that she left for Driver's Ed. That's why I thought she left -- oh.

[Erica sighs]

Jack: What's going on? Erica: Jack, Bianca is missing.
Jack: What do you mean, Bianca's missing?
Erica: She never went to school today.

Rain: A little stud right here.
Bianca: Oh -- my mom would have puppies. You do know this, don't you?
Rain: Well, you're grounded for the rest of your lift, right? Why not go out with a bang?

[Leo whistles]

Laura: Ah. Hey, what'd you buy?
Leo: Something excellent for you.
Laura: What?
Leo: I told you I was going to get you something before we went to New York. 100% Calfskin.
Laura: You --
Leo: Very Tribeca.
Laura: You bought me a leather coat.
Leo: Yes, I did. Now just be quiet and look fabulous.
Laura: I can't accept this
Leo: Yes, you can. I'll smooth it over with your mother. I'm very good with mothers.
Laura: Oh. Wow!
Leo: Damn, you've got good taste, girl.

[Laura laughs]

Leo: Thank you.
Laura: Oh, that's my line.

Mateo: Hayley?

Hayley's voice: "I know I wasn't the perfect mom, but I didn't think I could raise such a bad kid. Hayley turned on me and there's only one way to make up for that."

Bud: Miss me, Arlene?
Hayley: Buckets, Bud.

[Music plays]

Hayley: Dance with me, Bud. Bud: I like a slow dance.
Hayley: I know you do, but you know what?
Bud: What?
Hayley: I'm going to make you wait for me.
Bud: I don't like to wait.
Hayley: Aw. But I'm worth it. Can't you tell?
Bud: Come on. I know a nice, private place where we can dance.
Hayley: Hmm. I'm going to have to give you a rain check. I'm good for it. I got an errand to run. One more letter to deliver. Bud: You can do it tomorrow. It's icy outside. Hayley: No, Honey, this can't wait. I'm like the postal service. You know, what's that -- neither rain nor sleet nor -- oh, whatever the rest of it is. Anyway, can't wait on this one, Cookie? I've got sinners to unmask and a yacht to haunt. The Fidelity. Isn't that perfect?
Bud: Arlene, just stay here, will you? And stop talking crazy.
Hayley: Crazy like a fox. Keep my seat warm.

[Hayley laughs]

[Doorknob rattles]

Dixie: Junior, is that you?
Dixie: Uh -- hi. Sit. Sorry.
Tad: No, it's all right, it's all right. I'm not staying. I happened to glance at a calendar today, and I remembered that tonight was the night we were going to take off on our ski trip up to Mount Oak?
Dixie: Oh, right. I totally forgot. I'm glad you remembered that we've got reservations and everything.
Tad: Yeah, and Junior was really looking forward to getting some black diamond runs this season, and I -- I really don't want to go back on that promise.
Dixie: No, of course not. No. Great. Wow. Um -- this is great. I'm really glad that you want to try and do things together for the kids.
Tad: I want to take the boys on my own. I'm sorry. I just don't see how we can do this, the four of us, now.
Dixie: No. Of course. I'll -- I'll go pack his -- I'll go get his bag.

Erica: No, no, Mrs. Turner, there's nothing that you can do, no, but thank you very much.

Jack: So who was that?
Erica: Oh, that was the mother of a little boy that Bianca baby-sits for sometimes. I'm trying everyone.
Jack: Well, I think we can safely assume that Bianca didn't run away. I was just in her room. It's in its usual state of controlled chaos, and her luggage is still on the top shelf where it always is.
Erica: Oh. Oh, right. Well, at least there's that.
Jack: Yeah. Yeah.
Erica: What else aren't you telling me, Jack?
Jack: I ran into Coral cleaning upstairs. She's of the opinion that maybe Bianca didn't sleep in her bed last night.
Erica: Oh, my God. Oh, my God, Jack, what am I going to do?
Jack: All right, first of all, you're not going to panic. We know that Bianca can take care of herself. She got herself all the way to New York, alone.
Erica: Oh, is that supposed to make me feel better, Jack?
Jack: I just don't want you to assume the worst, Honey. Sit down. Listen. Let's just take a breath and try to piece this together. Now, last night was your first session with that psychologist, right?
Erica: Yes.
Jack: And?
Erica: And I had to let her go.
Jack: You fired the psychologist after one session?
Erica: She was completely biased, Jack. She had no objectivity whatsoever.
Jack: This is according to you, I presume.
Erica: Why are you ganging up on me? Why is everyone ganging up on me? Look, I am doing the best I can in a rotten situation, and I am terrified that I am losing my daughter forever!

Bianca: Are you sure you don't mind sharing your money with me?
Rain: Yeah, I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it.
Bianca: That's right. You never say things that you don't mean.
Rain: Look, Bianca, I don't need you to panhandle to prove anything to me. You know, I do it. You're my friend. That's that. You still thinking about getting a nose ring like mine?
Bianca: Oh, so now it's a ring, not just a stud?
Rain: I totally love the way they look, don't you?
Bianca: On some people, sure.
Rain: Well, you have the perfect face for it.
Bianca: I don't -- hey, look, it's Leo and Laura.
Rain: Do you want to say hi?
Bianca: Yeah. Hey, you two.
Leo: Bianca, perfect. Tell Laura how great she looks in her new coat.
Bianca: Laura, you look great in your new coat.
Laura: Thanks.
Bianca: You guys remember my friend Rain, right?
Laura: Yeah.
Leo: How you doing, Rain?
Laura: How are you?
Rain: Good. How much did that coat set you back, if you don't mind me asking?
Laura: Right, well, that's the problem.
Leo: No, there is no problem. I bought the coat for Laura. We're going to New York tonight in a limousine, and I just want her to look the part, that's all.
Laura: And what that part is, he has yet to tell me.
Bianca: You guys are going to New York tonight?
Leo: Yeah, total reckless abandon date. Hey, you don't happen to know the best place to eat and be seen, do you?
Laura: Has he always been this shallow?
Leo: Bianca, talk to her. She spent way too much time behind the great wall of china and is in total need of a groove adjustment.
Laura: Hey!
Bianca: You know, I think that you have a bigger problem right over there.
Leo: Well, I guess there's only one way to get rid of a mole -- smoke it out.

Leo: You ready to go now, Chairman Mao?
Laura: You are so going to New York alone if you call me that or kiss me again without asking me.
Leo: Ok, fine. But I'm a great date, and you know it. All right, Bianca, thank you for the tip on my shadow.
Bianca: Anytime.
Leo: All right.
Bianca: You two have fun.
Leo: You, too.

Leo: Hey, Greenlee. How's it hanging over there behind the pole?
Greenlee: Don't you have a limo waiting?
Leo: As a matter of fact, we do. Would you like to add anything?
Laura: Oh, it would take all night, Leo.
Leo: Well, in that case, happy shopping, Greenlee. Come on.

Greenlee: Why did you tell Leo I was back there?
Bianca: Oh, I'm sorry. Was it a secret?
Greenlee: Don't think I don't know what the two of you are doing here, trolling the mall for spare change and dates.
Rain: Trust me, trust fund, if we wanted dates, we'd have them.
Greenlee: Oh. Oh, is that right? Are you two a gay item now?
Rain: Bianca, can I kill her?
Bianca: Come on, let's get out of here. I think I want to get a nose ring after all.
Rain: Excellent. We'll get matching silver hoops.

Greenlee: Losers.

Dixie: Junior's outgrown his ski pants, so I don't want him skiing in his jeans.
Tad: No, I'll --
Dixie: If you don't mind --
Tad: I'll take care of it, Dixie. I'll stop by the mall on the way out of town --
Dixie: Going to get a cold so, you know, the kids will get sick.
Tad: Honey, I'll take care of it.
Dixie: I know.
Tad: I was going to buy some extra thick socks, anyway. The truth is, Jamie could always use another ski hat.
Dixie: Right. What are we doing? We're dividing the time between the kids. We're packing for a trip apart that we planned together.
Tad: You asked me to leave. Dixie: It was a mistake. It was a big mistake.
Tad: Honey, listen. I made some mistakes, too. A lot of them. Principal of which was allowing David Hayward anywhere near you or my family. We're still paying for that.
Dixie: Tad --
Tad: No, I mean it. I saw him coming a mile away. I knew he was going after you, and I knew what he wanted, and I didn't do enough about it. I keep thinking if I had tried just a little harder, somehow I might have been able to prevent this. Now we're never going to know. And I'm always going to regret that. I'm sorry that I wasn't strong enough for us.
Dixie: And I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough for you.

[Pounding on door]

[Mateo groans]

Mateo: All right!
Adam: Hayley! It's your father! Open up!
Mateo: Shh!

[Pounding]

Mateo: I'm coming. All right!
Adam: Hayley, are you there?
Mateo: Ok! Ok.
Adam: It's your father.
Mateo: Aw, man. For God's sakes, Adam.
Adam: Where is she? Where's Hayley?
Mateo: I don't know.
Adam: You don't know? She's your wife, for God's sake. You don't know where she is?
Liza: Adam, slow down.
Mateo: I went to sleep, and -- my head -- oh, man, my head.
Adam: I don't give a damn about your head.

[Water runs]

Adam: Did you get one of these?
Mateo: What is it?
Adam: Did Hayley?
Mateo: I don't -- I don know.
Liza: Is there water running in your bathroom?

[Water stops]

Adam: Hayley.
Mateo: Hey. Are you ok?
Hayley: I'm fine. What is this? What's with the family meeting?
Adam: Didn't you hear us calling you?
Hayley: I did now. What's the matter? Why do you all look like you've seen a ghost?
Adam: We're all --
Hayley: Is she back? Arlene?
Adam: We were all sent handwritten notes. He's too out of it to tell me -- did you get one of these?
Hayley: Mateo?
Mateo: Well, whatever it is -- Adam and Liza -- she wants you to come to the yacht tonight?
Adam: Yes.
Hayley: She sent all of you these notes?
Adam: Yes.
Hayley: Why? Why? What does she want? What does she want from us?
Adam: She wants a confession. She wants us all to confess that we tried to kill her.
Hayley: Oh, God.
Mateo: Listen, listen, it's going to be ok. Just calm down, ok?
Hayley: Oh, God.
Liza: Now, have you two been here all day?
Mateo: Yes, yes. Adam: And nothing was delivered here, no note?
Hayley: No. I don't understand why she didn't send us one. I'm the one that strangled her.
Adam: I don't know, but I'm going to find out and I'm going to make her pay for it.
Marian: Maybe it's time we call the police.
Adam: No, not yet, please.
Hayley: What does she want from all of us?
Adam: Your mother wants what she's always wanted from you, from me, from everyone that we love. She wants us to be miserable and suffer for not tolerating her. That's all this is.
Hayley: Oh, that's all?
Adam: That and an unlimited supply of cash.
Liza: Well, we know that's next.
Adam: I'll give her whatever it takes to get her out of our lives for good.
Liza: Listen, I know that you want to go there alone, but I'm coming with you.
Adam: No.
Liza: Yes.
Marian: If Liza's going, I'm coming, too.
Liza: Hayley, what's wrong?
Marian: Hayley?
Adam: Hayley, what are you doing?
Liza: Has that been there the entire time?
Marian: Oh, one of us must have kicked it under the door when we came in.
Hayley: It's to us.
"To my darling, destructive daughter and her overprotective hubby -- come to the fidelity tonight at 8:00 P.M. And confess. Confess your crimes."

[Hayley sighs]

Hayley: Oh.

Erica: Oh, Jack, I just don't even believe this is happening. And since she got herself to New York that time, I know we can't rule that out, either.
Jack: Yeah. Tell you what we're going to do. We're going to remain calm and logical and we're going to do everything we can to find Bianca. Now, who else can we call? What about Leo?
Erica: No, I tried Leo. I can't reach him. I left a message on his cell phone.
Jack: I'm sorry -- about before, about getting on your case. I'm sorry.
Erica: I just wish you wouldn't be so quick to judge me, Jack. I'm doing the best I can. I really am. You know that.
Jack: I know that. I do. I'm just afraid you're so anxious to get the answer here that maybe you're not hearing the question your daughter's asking you.
Erica: Like what?
Jack: Like maybe she's asking for your help.
Erica: Jack, Bianca is angry at me all the time. And she's making these great, big proclamations about herself that she can't possibly know are true, given her young age. And she is missing! My daughter is missing. That's all I know.
Jack: But she's going to walk through that door. She is. And when she does, I think you should do everything you possibly can to keep her here.
Erica: Oh, so this is my fault now?

[Doorbell rings]

Erica: Is that what you're saying?
Jack: I'm not saying it's your fault. I'm saying -- that's probably the cop.

Erica: Bian-- oh. I don't want any, Greenlee.
Greenlee: I have news.
Erica: I don't want your news. I don't have time for your news. Leo doesn't care about your news --
Greenlee: My news is about your daughter.
Jack: Have you seen Bianca?
Erica: Oh, please. She's all right, isn't she? Please let her be all right.
Greenlee: Yeah, yeah, she's peachy. She's at the mall.
Erica: The mall?
Greenlee: Yeah, she and her weather friend -- you know, snow, sleet --
Erica: Rain?
Greenlee: Yes. How do you feel about body piercing? Because Bianca's game. She's going to go for it.
Erica: Jack --
Jack: Oh.
Erica: Come with me now.
Jack: Greenlee, good-bye.

Greenlee: Thank me later.

Dixie: You know, maybe we could -- with a little time and maybe some help --
Tad: Yeah.
Junior: Hey.
Dixie: Hey.
Tad: Hey. So, you ready to go skiing?
Junior: I thought that was off.
Tad: Who said it was off?
Junior: No one. I just thought with everything going on --
Tad: No, no, we were just standing here, getting everything ready for you and Jamie.
Junior: That's great. No, I just got those ski goggles from Grandpa Joe on Christmas.
Dixie: You guys just be careful. There's only one thing -- no broken legs.
Junior: Wait. You're not coming with us?
Dixie: Not this time, no.
Junior: Maybe I should stay home with you, then. Tad and Jamie can go.
Dixie: Honey, come on. Look, I want you to go. I'm just going to be fine. I'm going to be here. I'm going to be watching movies. I'm going to be pampering myself, thinking about you guys having a great time on the slopes.
Junior: It's just going to be weird not having you there.
Dixie: Look, Tad really wants to do this for you and your brother, ok?
Junior: Ok.
Dixie: Thanks for caring about me. I appreciate it. Now, don't worry so much! I'm going to be ok. You go upstairs, pack up your stuff. If you need anything, Tad's going to do a mall run, get whatever you need.
Junior: Ok.
Dixie: Ok?
Junior: I won't be long.

Tad: I -- I -- I'll -- I'll call you tomorrow morning, you know, with the room number because we're probably going to get there a little too late tonight.
Dixie: Oh, I got your cell phone if I need it.
Tad: Yeah. I -- I -- I was going to take the four-by-four, you know, if you'll be all right with the car.
Dixie: I'm not going anywhere tonight, that's for sure, and the roads will be less icy in the morning, so I'll drive then.
Tad: Ok.
Dixie: Thanks for doing this for the kids. It really means a lot.
Tad: We'll be careful.

Junior: Hey, you know, I was going through the garage looking for my gear, and it's all in the car already.
Tad: Yeah. I took the liberty. I thought we should get on the road before, you know, conditions get worse. We have a lot to do. We still got to stop off at Brooke's and pick up Jamie on the way out of town. And we got ourselves a bit of a drive to make tonight, Pal.
Junior: Ok. Bye, Mom.
Dixie: Bye, baby. Take care of your brother for me, ok?
Junior: We will.
Dixie: Be the strong one. Drive safe.
Tad: We will. Tad: Try not to worry about us. Ok?

[Knock on door]

Dixie: Hi!
Palmer: Hello, Dixie.
Vanessa: Dixie.
Palmer: Well, may we come in?
Dixie: Oh, I'm sorry, yes. Please, please, please come in. Is everything ok?
Vanessa: Well --
Palmer: Fine, fine, fine. Everything's just fine. We decided we'd drop by and see how things were going with you and Tad.
Dixie: Oh, how sweet. That's so nice of you, yes. May I take your coat? Everything's going just as well as it can go.
Palmer: Didn't I just see him driving off with skis on the roof?
Dixie: Yes. He's taking the boys skiing.
Vanessa: Are you sure, Dear?
Palmer: Vanessa.
Dixie: Yes, I'm sure. Why? Are you sure everything's ok?
Vanessa: Well, I do think that --
Palmer: I -- I -- there's snow on the way. At least that's what I heard. Ought to be great for the skiing. How are things going with you and Tad? You're working on --
Dixie: Well, it might be a long road, but I think he wants to come back with me, like I want him to come back, so --
Vanessa: Oh, honestly, you poor, deluded girl --
Palmer: For crying out loud!
Dixie: Deluded? What do you mean, deluded? Why am I deluded for wanting Tad to come back?
Palmer: Vanessa, Vanessa, please do not speak.
Vanessa: Well, I'm sorry, Palmer, but I really think Dixie should hear this from family and not from somewhere out on the street or even worse.
Dixie: Hear what?
Vanessa: Your uncle and I overheard Tad in what sounded like some sort of lovers' quarrel with that squirrel, Leslie Coulson, at the Valley Inn.
Palmer: Lovely, lovely.
Vanessa: Well, the woman was half undressed in the hallway.
Palmer: Must you, Vanessa?
Vanessa: Tad was in quite a state, Dixie, and he was saying -- well, he was saying, "I'm sorry I ever slept with you in the first place."
Vanessa: Dixie, really, I'm so sorry.
Dixie: This was -- this was a few months ago, right? It was after the yacht party, when everyone got sick?
Vanessa: No, this -- this was just a short while ago at the Valley Inn. But we didn't want to see you kept in the dark.
Palmer: We didn't want you to hear like this.
Dixie: So -- so he's still seeing her? He hasn't ended it with her? He came here after seeing her?
Palmer: Dixie. Dixie. You know I've never been a fan of Tad Martin's, but I certainly didn't want this to happen. I hate to see you hurt. I really -- is there anything we can do?
Dixie: No. No.
Palmer: Well, there's a chance that Vanessa and I misunderstood. There is that chance, you know.
Dixie: No, I'm sure that you didn't misunderstood him. Misunderstand -- I'm sure he was -- I'm sure you understood perfectly well. Um -- thank you very much for worrying about me. I really do appreciate it very, very much. And if you don't mind right now, I would kind of like to be alone.
Palmer: Dixie, please, let us stay.
Dixie: No. I -- I -- I would like to be alone.
Vanessa: Dixie will call us if she needs us, I'm sure. Won't you, darling?
Dixie: Yes, I will absolutely call. And thank you so much for coming. Thank you so much.
Palmer: Dixie, please.
Dixie: No, thank you, really. It's -- I -- thank you so much. I do appreciate it. Thank you so much for coming.

Mateo: She's crazy. This woman's crazy.
Adam: I'm going to take care of her once and for all tonight.
Hayley: Not without me you're not.
Mateo: Honey, she's out of control. You're not --
Hayley: Then we should go. We should confront her together, like she wants.
Liza: Hayley is right. We have to go together as a family. She's tried to ruin Hayley, but she's also tried to ruin this family. Ever since she's come back to town, that's exactly what she's tried to do. We have to present a united front. We have to show her she cannot separate us or have us turned against each other -- any of us, Adam. Ok?
Adam: Liza's right. I hate it, but she's right.
Mateo: What if it's a trap?
Adam: She can't trap all of us.
Marian: Look -- well, then why don't we just go down to that boat and end the torture once and for all, ok?
Mateo: Here's your coat. Listen -- I'm not going to let you out of my sight for a second, ok? Come on.
Erica: Ok, Jack. Jack, where do we begin?

Jack: Let's split up. You go that way, I'll go this --
Rain: It looks good.
Bianca: Is it ok?

Erica: Bianca. Oh.
Bianca: Mom.
Erica: Honey. Oh, Honey, what did you do? What did you do to your beautiful face?
Bianca: I -- I --
Rain: Hey, what about mine?
Erica: You mutilated my daughter.
Bianca: No.
Jack: I don't want to sound like a hypocrite, but tattoos here are nothing like -- but I wasn't 16 years old when I got them --
Bianca: Uncle Jack, Uncle Jack --
Jack: And there's a little thing called parental consent --
Bianca: Don't -- don't be mad.
Jack: That maybe a store who is piercing underaged girls - I should know about.
Bianca: Wait -- it's -- it's ok, really. Look, look. It's not a real piercing.
Erica: Oh, thank God.
Bianca: It's just one of those removable kind. They don't even pierce anything but ears here. I didn't do anything, ok? So there's no reason to get all freaked out.
Erica: You didn't do anything?
Bianca, you stayed out all night. You didn't tell me where you are. You skipped school with this -- this mall rat. You didn't do anything? Bianca, where did you sleep? I mean, what have you been doing all night and all day?
Bianca: Nothing, nothing. We've just been hanging out.
Erica: Well, I know that she sleeps on the street. I mean, is that what you did?
Bianca: No, Mom -- I -- Mom, look, I didn't even realize that you knew I was gone. I wasn't trying to scare you or anything. I just couldn't deal with school and I wanted to spend some time alone today.
Erica: But you weren't alone. You were with this -- look, we're just going to go home. We're going to go home now. And you -- you're out of my daughter's life, for good, effective yesterday. Do you understand me? You are never to come near my daughter again.
Rain: Later, Bianca.
Jack: Rain, with what just happened, I think the possibility of "later" is pretty slim. But you take care of yourself, ok?

Bianca: You know, I don't really care what you think of me, Mom, but I don't understand how you can be so rude to someone you don't even know.
Erica: Well, I certainly know what she does to you, and I know that I'm going to put an end to it.
Bianca: You can't choose my friends fore.
Erica: I can when it's Rain.
Bianca: Why?
Erica: Because she encourages you, Bianca, to do irresponsible and dangerous things.
Bianca: Uncle Jack --
Jack: Wait a minute. Don't "Uncle Jack" me. I don't think you should stay out all night, and I certainly don't think you should skip school to go to the mall to shop for a nose ring.
Erica: You still haven't even told us where you were. Do you even have a clue how dangerous it is out there?
Bianca: You know, Rain gets along just fine.
Erica: I don't care about Rain.
Bianca: I know.
Erica: Your Uncle Jack had to file a missing person's report with the police.
Jack: Which I have to cancel now.
Bianca: You know, I'm sorry for that, but you guys did not have to panic.
Jack: No, wait just a second. You were out all night without any explanation. Now, we love you too much to be casual about a thing like that. Do you understand me?
Bianca: All right, all right. But I'm not 6 years old. I can take care of myself.
Erica: Oh, really? Panhandling? Sleeping in the streets? Telling anyone who would listen that you're a 16-year-old lesbian?
Bianca: Aha. That's what this is about, isn't it?
Erica: No, it is not! It is about you behaving irresponsibly. And because of that, you are, to quote you, so grounded that it's not even funny.
Bianca: Surprise, surprise.
Erica: Where are you going?
Bianca: To my room.
Erica: Bianca --
Bianca: I'm grounded for life, Mom. You can talk to me later.

Erica: What am I going to do with her? Did you hear her? No apology.
Jack: You're just going to have to be patient.
Erica: What? She's becoming a monster.
Jack: Look, Erica, every parent, God willing, eventually has a teenager. Yours just happens to be a little more inventive than most.
Erica: Jack, I thought she was dead in the street.
Jack: I know.
Erica: I don't know how much longer I can take this.
Jack: Tell you what. Let's go out to the kitchen, I'll make you a cup of tea, and we'll try to come up with a plan.
Erica: Don't you have anything stronger than tea, Jack?
Jack: Well, let's see how the plan goes, first.

Rain: Hi.
Bianca: Rain, when I heard the pebbles on the window, I thought it might be you. What's going on?
Rain: I have to bolt, tonight.
Bianca: What?
Rain: It's too cold to sleep on the street. And I can't do the shelter scene anymore. I never really sleep. Security guards at the mall tossed me, so I can't crash there. I've got to rail it, Bianca. But I really wanted to say good-bye.
Bianca: I don't like this, Rain. This is too fast.
Rain: Look, normally I just leave.
Bianca: I thought that you said that the railroad thing was dangerous.
Rain: I'll handle it.
Bianca: No way. No way.
Rain: What are you doing? If your mom sees me --
Bianca: Tough. You're staying.
Rain: Erica will love that.
Bianca: She doesn't have to find out. We have, like, 200 bedrooms in this place. Look, Rain, you're staying the night. That's it. Come on. Come on.

Jamie: Then Junior just pushed him right off his chair.
Tad: You pushed Hayward off a barstool onto his butt?
Junior: I told Jamie not to say anything. Obviously he didn't listen to me.
Jamie: But it was cool. You totally dissed him.
Tad: Now, wait a minute, wait a minute. Why wouldn't you want me to know?
Junior: I was afraid you'd get mad. Mom, too.
Tad: Yeah. Well, I guess this is where I'm supposed to tell you that getting physical to get even isn't a very good idea.
Junior: I got him pretty good, though, Tad.
Tad: Ok. But here's the deal. I don't want you going anywhere near David Hayward ever again, ok? If you get mad, come to me. Please.
Junior: Ok.
Tad: All right. And in the meantime, I think we could use our energy better if we tried to figure out how to make things right back at home.
Junior: Think we can?
Tad: Well, I'm not making any promises, but anything's possible. So, come on. Let's hit the slopes.

Singer: Oh, say we're through I told you when you left me

Bud: Hey. You all right?
Dixie: Yeah. Skidded on the road.
Bud: That your car out there in the ditch?
Dixie: Yeah. I spun my wheels trying to get out.
Woman: What happened to your coat, Honey?
Dixie: Oh. I -- guess I left it behind.
Woman: Think we should call a tow truck?
Bud: We can try, but I think you're going to end up waiting this thing out here. Want a drink?
Dixie: Yeah, some coffee would be great, thanks.
Woman: Coffee it is.

Singer: Just like the other days after midnight

David: Can I help?

Bud: Hey. Are you still looking for Arlene?
Duffy: Yeah. You seen her?
Bud: Why?
Duffy: I may have some good news for her.
Bud: Yeah?
Duffy: Yeah you know where she is? Bud: She said she was going to some boat -- Fidelity or something. I don't know. She makes me nuts.
Duffy: She's there now?
Bud: That's what she said. She's got a red coat on. Can't miss her.

Adam's voice: I need you to find Arlene before the police find her. The change of plan is this -- I never want to see her face again.

Bud: Hey, what is it? What am I missing here?
Duffy: Nothing, Bud. Thanks.

Adam: What the devil are you doing here?
Palmer: Your ex-wife sent us a note telling us to meet her here at 8:00 If we wanted to get Vanessa's necklace back. Well, it's cost much too much to ignore such a request, insane though it is.
Hayley: She sent us all notes. What I want to know is why.

Derek: Good question. It's not every day you get a handwritten invitation to a confession.
Adam: What are you talking about, Lieutenant?
Derek: "Come to the fidelity at 8:00 Sharp if you want to see the guilty punished." Don't all speak at once.

Vanessa: There you are. You thieving tramp. Honestly. Hayley?
