ALL MY CHILDREN

July 23, 2001

Greenlee: You think you could fall in love with me?
Jake: So why is that surprising?
Greenlee: Because it's not us. We're friends, roommates.
Jake: Bed buddies?
Greenlee: No! That's not what this was. I felt alone and unloved and I needed someone to hold me.
Jake: Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I can't do that.
Greenlee: We can't be close because you're afraid of what might happen?
Jake: No, I'm not afraid because it's just never, ever going to happen again. I'm not going to fall in love with a woman who's in love with another man. I made that mistake once and it's not going to happen again.

Laura's voice: No one's ever loved you the way I do. No one ever will.

Greenlee: You always come to my rescue, and this time is the worst! I am so sorry I got you involved in this. Anything happened to you, Leo, I would die! I love you!

Laura: Hey, there. Those pictures weren't supposed to bring you down.
Leo: They're not. They're just making me remember.

Phoebe: Vanessa, you have a very handsome son there.
Vanessa: Oh, well, actually I have two quite handsome sons.
Phoebe: Oh, well, of course. Well, I was referring to Leo in this case.
Vanessa: Hmm.
Phoebe: Oh, what are his plans?
Vanessa: His plans?
Phoebe: Hmm. Just how does he plan to support my grandniece?
Vanessa: Oh. Oh, well -- as you can well imagine, I mean, Leo is a young man of many talents and opportunities, and I think at the moment, he's trying to weigh his options.
Phoebe: I see. Well, I suppose that he can be allowed to enjoy his married state for a little while.
Vanessa: Yeah -- yeah, exactly. That's exactly what I think.
Phoebe: Mm-hmm.
Vanessa: Oh.
Palmer: Hmm.

Anna: That was awful.
Edmund: Well, Gabriel hasn't exactly perfected his social skills.
Anna: I know. Knocking over the buffet table, though.
Edmund: I've been to many a party where I wanted to do just that.
Anna: Well, me, too. But we can't behave like that.
Edmund: He's behaving like a teenager. He has to learn to behave around other teenagers for the first time. You know, there's only so much you can do for him.
Anna: Nobody's done anything for him yet, including me. It's time I did.
Edmund: You have time. Calm down. Calm down.
Anna: Hmm.

Gabriel: What do you want? Why'd you follow me?
Rosa: Are you all right? You looked hurt.
Gabriel: Don't you mean wounded like an animal?
Rosa: No. You're scared.
Gabriel: Scared of what I'll do to your boyfriend if he ever comes near me again.

Tad: Please. You have got to do something. Dixie's going to do anything she has to to get me out of here, and it's obvious she doesn't care about her own safety.
Derek: Just because she's got a name --
Tad: No, not just a name -- Fiedler's name. My ex-snitch, a very unsavory person, the man I started talking to, and look what happened to me. She had to weasel the name out of you because I refused to give it to her.
Derek: Well, just because she's got Fiedler's name -- so what?
Tad: She's very intelligent. The first thing she's going to do is go to my computer and get his number. Then she's going to try to set up a meeting.
Derek: Come on, Tad. You just said she was intelligent. She's got more sense than that.
Tad: You don't understand. Derek, we're trying to put our marriage back together again. She's trying to prove something -- to me, to herself. Like I said, she's going to do anything she has to, and as long as I am in here, I can't do a thing to stop her.
Derek: All right. I'll stop by the house and I'll talk to her.
Tad: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Just go now, please hurry, before she does anything stupid.

Dixie: Cash? Sure, I'll pay you in cash once you give me all the information that I want. Well, I'm sure that we can work something out. Ok. I'll see you in 20 minutes.

Rosa: Why do you hate Marcus so much? I mean, what did he ever do to you? Would you stop staring at me. Look, is this yours?
Marcus: Rosa -- there you are.
Rosa: Hi. Hi.
Marcus: Are you ok?
Rosa: Yeah, no, I'm fine. Let's just -- let's go back to the party.
Marcus: What the hell happened to your clothes? Hmm? I asked you a question.
Rosa: Look, Marcus, just leave him alone. He's not going to answer you.
Marcus: I warned you to stay away from Rosa and to stop hitting on Rosa, and you didn't listen.

Brooke: Sweetie, you look tired. Are you ok?
Laura: I am tired.
Leo: I think she is.
Laura: Yeah, a little.
Brooke: All right. Well, I think it's -- it's time. We can say our good nights to everybody.
Leo: Well, how about we tell them "thanks for the presents. Now get the hell out"?
Brooke: I think that'll do it, Leo.

[Laura laughs]

Anna: Brooke?
Brooke: Yes?
Anna: So is the party over?
Brooke: Yeah, I think so. Laura's a little tired.
Anna: Oh, yeah. Of course. Could I talk to you a minute, just --
Brooke: Sure.
Anna: It's about Edmund.
Brooke: Oh. What about him?
Anna: I couldn't help noticing the way you looked just now, when he had his arm around me.
Brooke: Oh -- well, I don't know what you think you saw. I mean, obviously, it's -- it's no business of mine who Edmund has his arms around.
Anna: But you wouldn't mind if they were around you?

Jake: Listen, if you're feeling bad, you know, we can cook up some supper or -- or you can sit out here under the stars and --
Greenlee: I'm not hungry.
Jake: Well, I got a pretty good fire going here for when we go to sleep later.
Greenlee: If you didn't want to have sex, why did you bring me out here?
Jake: You know the answer to that. It's because you were so determined to ruin Leo and Laura's party.
Greenlee: I was not. I told Leo I wouldn't tell Laura about Brooke paying him to marry her.
Jake: Yeah, you told me that.
Greenlee: I wanted to prove to everyone that I can be an adult about Leo's marriage. You don't think I can be.
Jake: I hid your clothes, and you still managed to go to the party.
Greenlee: Like having no clothes could have stopped me.
Jake: Well, I should have known. Whenever something gets in the way of your happiness, you have no problem making somebody else miserable.
Greenlee: Why do you care about Laura more than you care about me?
Jake: Why do you say that?
Greenlee: You went through all this trouble -- stealing my clothes, dragging me out here -- just so Laura can live in her fantasy world for a few more days or weeks.
Jake: Greenlee, I do care about Laura. But that's not the only reason I tried to stop you.
Greenlee: Why, then?
Jake: Because. I was trying to save you -- from making a fool out of yourself, trying to spare you a little hurt and humiliation.
Greenlee: Oh, I was not hurt.
Jake: Yes, you were. I tried to drag you out of there and that wasn't good enough. You still went back.
Greenlee: Yes!
Jake: And you went back right at the height of them toasting their happiness. There was Laura -- she was standing there. She just -- beaming. Leo, acting like -- like the devoted bridegroom. And there you are, you're just -- you're standing there and you -- the pain on your face. And you -- you looked pitiful.
Greenlee: I know. Why did I go back?
Jake: It beats me. Even if you had gone in there and dropped your bombshell, you would have been the one who would have ended up being hurt. And Leo would have resented you for it.
Greenlee: I thought you did all of this for them, but it was for me, to save me from my own stupidity.
Jake: From your own impulsive personality.
Greenlee: But why?
Jake: I don't know why. Believe me, I ask myself that question all the time.
Greenlee: But you just told me why -- it's because you love me.
Jake: No, that's not what I said.
Greenlee: You said you could fall in love with me.
Jake: Greenlee, I'm not going to fall in love with someone who's already in love with someone else. It just -- it's -- it's not going to happen. It's just -- I'm going to make sure that it doesn't happen again.
Greenlee: Good. Don't fall in love with me, Jake. It'd be the dumbest move you ever make.
Jake: Well, trust me, Greenlee, there's no possibility that I'm going to let myself fall in love with you.
Greenlee: Then why did you bring it up?
Jake: Because. I want you to understand why I'm not going to make love to you.
Greenlee: Jake, we slept together just that once and it was a transforming experience for you. It got you confused.
Jake: I'm not confused.
Greenlee: Yes, you are.
Jake: No, no.
Greenlee: And I want someone really special for you, Jake, someone who's mature and intelligent and who's as kind as you are -- which isn't me. I ruin every relationship I'm in by being childish and jealous and selfish. I'm insensitive, I'm untrustworthy.
Jake: Greenlee, Greenlee, the reason why I'm not going to let myself fall in love with you is because you're still in love with Leo.
Greenlee: Yes, I know. Do you mean you -- you could love me if I didn't love Leo?
Jake: And I'm not going to let myself fall for someone who doesn't love me back. I did it once. I'm not going to do it again.
Greenlee: But if I could love you back?
Jake: End of discussion. I'm not going to talk about it.
Greenlee: Look, I'm not trying to get you to admit to anything. It's just that what you said, I can't believe it. I mean, how could someone like you fall in love with me? I'm all talk. I'm not the real thing.
Jake: I see the real you. Greenlee: You do? But I drive you crazy. Jake: Yeah, yeah, you do. You do. But, I don't know, maybe I just see something that other people don't.
Greenlee: What, like the person I could become?
Jake: If you wanted to.
Greenlee: You mean someone mature and giving and worth someone's time?
Jake: Someone who likes herself. Someone who doesn't get her happiness out of seeing somebody else miserable.
Greenlee: You have a high opinion of me.
Jake: Well, I just -- I've had an eye on you here for quite some time, that's all.
Greenlee: I've tried -- I've tried a million times to be a better person. It just doesn't work. I mean, that's why I love Leo -- he accepts me as I am.
Jake: Well, maybe it's a good thing that Leo has married someone else.

Brooke: You know, Edmund and I -- we work together. We were involved at -- at one point. That was a couple of lifetimes ago. I mean, actually, even before he married Maria.
Anna: But do you -- I mean, maybe you never stopped loving him.
Brooke: Why are we having this conversation?
Anna: Oh. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm very fond of Edmund. And he's such -- he's such a private person, you know. Even when he's surrounded by a lot of people, he seems so lonely and so sad.
Brooke: Yes, that's Edmund.
Anna: So I was thinking maybe he could -- he needs someone like you.
Brooke: Why would you think that? You're the one that he had his arm around.
Anna: To be honest, I think he's still in love with my sister. And when he looks at me, that's who he sees.
Brooke: I think Edmund knows the difference between Alex and you.
Anna: Oh, on one level, but then on another, he -- he wants to feel the way he felt when he was in love.
Brooke: Well, don't we all.
Anna: Edmund and I -- it's -- that's not going to happen. I don't -- I'm far from being ready to -- it's not going to happen, but I -- I want him to be happy. And I could see how much you care for him.
Brooke: Yes, I do care about him. You know, we -- we're friends. We've been friends for a very long time. And, I mean, but quite frankly, to imagine anything else at this point, that's -- that's absurd.

Edmund: Ahem. We're being gently told to hit the road.
Anna: Yeah, I know.
Brooke: Yes, I am afraid so.
Edmund: Listen, before I go --
Brooke: Yes?
Edmund: I'd like to talk to Laura about joining us at "Tempo" -- I mean, now that she's feeling better.
Brooke: You know what? I don't --
Edmund: What?
Brooke: I don't think she's ready for anything quite so strenuous.
Edmund: We're talking a job at "Tempo."
Brooke: Well --
Edmund: Listen, I understand. No, I'm just -- remember we talked about her taking some photos for the magazine?
Brooke: Mm-hmm.
Edmund: I want her to know that we haven't forgotten that.
Anna: Yeah. He's very impressed with her work, you know. He mentioned it to me a couple of times.
Edmund: She's got a gift, Brooke.
Brooke: No, I agree. I agree. I just -- I just don't think she's ready for a job yet.
Anna: But it would give her something to look forward to, incentive.
Brooke: No, you're right, you're right. I just -- I just think, you know, right now, she's really getting used to the fact that she has a future again.
Edmund: She's still taking it day by day?
Brooke: Hmm, you know, sort of minute by minute.
Edmund: You're not worried about her, are you?
Brooke: No, it's just -- you know, she's -- she's recovering. That's what her focus is on, and her focus is on Leo. You know, that he's -- he is really the center of her life.
Anna: But it's not going to be like that forever.
Brooke: No, no. Of course not. You know who I think we should be thinking about getting a job for is Leo. Do you think there's something for him at "Tempo" we can find?
Edmund: Sure. What can he do?
Brooke: I'll have to think about it. You know where I think we could start him? In a slot in advertising.
Edmund: Leo selling ads?
Brooke: Well -- yeah. Leo could sell sand in the Sahara.
Edmund: Ok.
Brooke: Ok?
Edmund: Listen, it's your call. Let me know, all right?
Brooke: All right. Sure.
Edmund: It's been swell, kiddo.
Brooke: Well, then, we'll have to do it again sometime.
Edmund: It's a date.
Brooke: Okey-doke.

Rosa: Gabriel wasn't coming on to me. He's not like that.
Marcus: Well, how would you know what Gabriel is like? And why are you even here?
Rosa: Look, I don't know. Let's just go back to the party. Come on.
Marcus: You ruined the party acting like a psycho. Do you even get that?
Rosa: Would you stop? This is hard for him, too.
Marcus: What?
Rosa: I -- he's just not used to parties, ok? That's all I'm saying.
Marcus: Oh, yeah. That's why he's ripping off his clothes.
Gabriel: Dogs don't wear clothes.
Marcus: Oh. Oh. Well, what's that supposed to mean? What, are you high? You stay away from Rosa!

Rosa: Marcus, I'm ok.
Marcus: Look, the guy is a psycho, Rosa. Promise me you will stay away from him.
Rosa: Yes, he's weird. He's not going to hurt me.
Marcus: Promise me.

Derek: Hey, Dix.
Dixie: Derek. Hi. I'm sorry I can't talk to you right now. I'm actually on my way out. I'm going to go pick up J.R. He's visiting with Jamie. He doesn't get to see him very much these days.
Derek: This won't take very long.
Dixie: Oh, Derek, I'm sorry. I really don't have the time.
Derek: Hey, Tad asked me to stop by. He is convinced that you're on some kind of mission to prove his innocence and he wants you to stop.
Dixie: Are you serious?
Derek: Yeah, very serious.
Dixie: Derek, come on. I mean, I don't know anything about drug trafficking.
Derek: Well, I believe you. But Tad says you're planning on contacting somebody who can give you a name of people that might have had some dealing with Dwight Sweeney?
Dixie: Oh, I wouldn't -- I wouldn't interfere in police business.
Derek: That's good to hear. That's good to hear. Because these people aren't amateurs.
Dixie: Well, I'm sure they're not. I really appreciate you coming by to check up on me, but I'm really not trying to prove Tad's innocence. I know that he'll be proven innocent eventually.
Derek: All right. All right, but just so we're clear -- your getting involved is not going to help Tad. It's only going to add to his troubles.
Dixie: Yes, Derek. We're clear.
Derek: All right, my friend. Told you it wouldn't take long. I'll see you.
Dixie: Ok.
Derek: All right.
Dixie: Good night.
Derek: Good night.

Dixie: He's gone.
Dixie: So where were we?
Fiedler: We were about to settle on a price for the names of young Mr. Sweeney's business associates.
Dixie: All right. How much?
Fiedler: Mrs. Martin, I have to make a living, like everybody else. But maybe you should listen to the cops.
Dixie: I'm not trying to start a one-woman war on the drug trade. I just want to clear my husband's name. Now, Tad did not kill Dwight Sweeney, but somebody is trying to make it look like he did. Fiedler: Well, why aren't
you letting the police handle it?
Dixie: Do you know Lt. Frye?
Fiedler: Yeah, I know Lt. Frye.
Dixie: Ok, he's a good man, but he doesn't have the final say. The cops say that they've got a suspect in custody. They're not going to go looking for anybody else.
Fiedler: Ah, wouldn't be the first time. Dixie: And the kid who was killed? His dad is a cop.
Fiedler: Oh.
Dixie: What?
Fiedler: If that's the case, then it'll be -- Tad will be very lucky if he gets out of jail in one piece.
Dixie: I have to get him out. He didn't do it. He was set up.
Fiedler: If that's true, you'll be sticking your own neck out.
Dixie: Well, I don't care about that. He needs me. And I have to do everything I can to help him.

Carl: Time for grub, Martin.
Tad: No, thank you. I'm not hungry.
Carl: Why don't you try it at least? It was made special, just for you.
Carl: You're next.

Jake: You really do love Leo.
Greenlee: I wish I didn't. Maybe I should get smart and get over him, but I don't want to.
Jake: Well, I understand that. You love him. That's it. What else are you going to do?
Greenlee: I'm sorry I asked you to make love to me.
Jake: Don't apologize. It just wasn't going to happen, that's all.
Greenlee: Well, you seem pretty sure about that.
Jake: Well, "pretty sure" would have been like if we had made love, if we let it happen.
Greenlee: What would it have been like?
Jake: It would have been very nice. And except the thing is the entire way home, you would have been thinking about Leo.
Greenlee: You're probably right -- on both counts.
Jake: Well, I better get some more wood.

[Greenlee daydreams]

Jake: Come on up here.
Greenlee: Are we really making it public?
Jake: Absolutely, and Tad and Dixie should be the first to know.
Greenlee: Ok.
Dixie: Jake! Hi!
Jake: Hey, there!
Tad: Hey, come on in, handsome. Good to see you.
Jake: All right!
Tad: What's with the smile? You look like you just won the lottery.
Jake: Well, even better. Greenlee and I -- we're engaged. In fact, we're getting married. What? What's with the look on your faces? Aren't you happy for us?
Dixie: Well -- not really.
Tad: I'm sorry. This whole thing is kind of half-baked, isn't it? Where's this idea coming from? You -- you don't even know Greenlee.
Dixie: She's going to ruin your life. Please don't do this.
Greenlee: But Jake can see the real me.
Dixie: You know, she's -- you're fooling yourself.
Tad: Yeah, or she's fooling you.
Dixie: She's selfish --
Tad: Yeah, she's a complete liar.
Dixie: And childish, and she's never going to change.
Greenlee: Jake?
Tad: Watch out. This woman will tear you up worse than Gillian ever did.
Dixie: She's just not good enough for you, Jake.
Tad: Not good enough.

Jake: Greenlee? You all right?

Leo: Palmer, Mother, thank you for coming.
Palmer: Mm-hmm.
Vanessa: Oh, well, Darling, we wanted to be here, of course -- I mean, to celebrate the union of these two families.
Palmer: Yeah. Good luck, Leo.
Leo: All right.
Palmer: Hey.
Leo: Ow!
Vanessa: Bye, Darling. Thank you for everything.
Palmer: Brooke.
Brooke: You are very welcome.

Good night.
Leo: Thank you. What was that for?
Brooke: For everything -- for being you, for my daughter's happiness.
Leo: Well, I'm trying. Thank you for believing in me.
Brooke: Oh, before I forget -- this month's expenses -- ah, ah, ah -- and the month's rent.
Leo: Forget it, Brooke.
Brooke: Leo, it's just Temporary, all right? Please take the check. You know, Laura is alive because of you, because you told her that you loved her.

Laura: Thank you.
Edmund: You're welcome. Take care of yourself now, ok?
Laura: Oh, I don't have to. I've got a nurse and a mom and the world's best husband to hover over me.
Edmund: Well, I suppose you do, then. Enjoy it. Good night.
Anna: Good night.
Laura: Hey, Edmund?
Edmund: Yeah?
Laura: Can I ask you a favor?
Edmund: Sure. Laura: Can you tell me how Ryan is?
Edmund: It's not easy.
Laura: No.
That makes sense. Edmund: Everybody grieves in their own way.
Laura: I wish I could help.
Anna: We all do.
Laura: Ok. If you happen to see Ryan, could you tell him I'm doing good? Unless you think you better not.
Edmund: Sure. And he'll be happy to hear it.
Laura: Thank you.
Edmund: Ok.
Anna: Good night.

Bianca: Hey, girl. You ok?
Laura: Hey. Oh, yeah. I guess it's just a lot to take in -- you know, why I'm here, how I'm here. I feel like I'm living in a dream. I have everything I ever wanted. You think I'm selfish, don't you?
Bianca: No, why would I?
Laura: Well, because I -- I never ask you how you're doing or what you're up to.
Bianca: Sure you do.
Laura: Not lately.
Bianca: Look, all I want to see is you getting strong and healthy, ok? That's enough. The rest will follow, and I'm not keeping score.
Laura: I love you, Bianca. You know that.
Bianca: Yeah. I know you love me.

Leo: The all-wise and all-knowing Zora says it's time to take your pills.
Laura: Oh, ok. And then I'm going to crash. I'm wiped out.
Bianca: Oh.
Leo: All right.
Bianca: Good night.
Leo: Good night.
Laura: Good night.

Leo: It's scary how weak she gets -- still.
Bianca: Well, you know, the only thing that could really hurt her is if she thought you didn't really love her.
Leo: What?
Bianca: You heard me, Leo. You -- you do love Laura, don't you?
Leo: Of course I do.
Bianca: Good, good, because she can't afford to have her new heart broken, not by you or anybody.

Greenlee: I'm fine. I'm just a little cold.
Jake: Well, I was just going to heat up some coffee for us.
Greenlee: Well, while you're doing that -- I'll freshen up. Where's the ladies' room? I assume it's that tree to the left?
Jake: Yeah, yeah. There's a -- there's as good a place as any, right over there. You know, how did the human race ever get along without the invention of the flush toilet?
Greenlee: I know.
Jake: Well, I got something for you right here. A toothbrush. Got a washcloth in there and some other things that you might need. You can wash up right down there at the creek, down the slope. See it?
Greenlee: I see it.

[Greenlee screams]

Rosa: Gabriel and I are going to be working together at S.O.S., and I think that maybe it's just better if we --
Marcus: If you quit?
Rosa: I can't quit. It's my job.
Marcus: Do you want to know what my mother said about you, Rosa?
Rosa: What?
Marcus: That you're just the kind of girl I should be going out with.
Rosa: She did?
Marcus: Yeah, you're special. You're -- you're smart, you're serious, like someone I could really --
Rosa: What?
Marcus: You're special, Rosa. I've never felt this way about anyone. Did you like the earrings I got you? I guess I wanted to show you that I've been thinking about you, pretty much all day long. You think it was too much?
Rosa: I told you, I liked the earrings. They're amazing.
Marcus: Yeah?
Rosa: Yeah.
Marcus: So are you. Let's dance.
Rosa: There's no music.
Marcus: So what? Come on. Ah. You know, I kind of like the way you feel next to me.

[Marcus laughs]

Rosa: You know, Marcus, I forgot -- I told my mom that I would be at Mateo's by now, so I've got to go. I'm sorry.
Marcus: How can you leave me right now?
Rosa: I'm sorry. I have to go.
Marcus: Rosa!

Shannon: Hi, Marcus.
Marcus: What are you doing here, Shannon? What, are you stalking me?
Shannon: I -- I scored some X. Want to party?

Greenlee: It was hideous and enormous, like in a horror movie!
Jake: All right, all right. It couldn't have been, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Like when they throw the girl in the snake pit.
Jake: Greenlee, it's dark outside. I think your eyes are just playing tricks on you. It's ok.
Greenlee: I'm sure it was an Anaconda. It could have eaten me alive, Jake!
Jake: Well, where did it go?
Greenlee: You scared it and it slithered away!
Jake: Ok, just relax, all right? You're safe, you're safe.
Greenlee: I want to go home.
Jake: Home? Why? Why? What -- the snake is gone!
Greenlee: Jake, I don't care! I wasn't meant for the great outdoors, except if it was Jane Fonda's ranch in Montana.
Jake: All right, all right. Just stop whining, all right? We're going to stay right here.
Greenlee: Then we're sleeping in the car.
Jake: You can sleep wherever you want. I'm going to sleep right here under the stars.
Greenlee: What? You're not going to sleep in the tent? You're all exposed to bugs and God knows what?
Jake: No, I just figure they're probably going to bite you before they get to me. Whoops -- ooh!
Greenlee: Jake --
Jake: What? What? Greenlee, I got a sleeping bag here and it's all nice and comfy, and it's going to protect me.
Greenlee: Then I'm sleeping with you -- with our clothes on.
Jake: Well, do what you want. I brought a sleeping bag for you.
Greenlee: No! No, no, no. No, I heard about snakes slithering into sleeping bags in the middle of the night. Please, it's got to be the same sleeping bag.
Jake: All right, all right, Greenlee. You can sleep with me.
Greenlee: Thank you. Believe me, I'm so skeeved out right now, I couldn't even think about -- you know, what we were talking about.
Jake: Yeah. I'm so relieved.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Jake: Don't mention it.
Greenlee: Promise me something?
Jake: Yeah.
Greenlee: Even if we fight, we'll still be friends, right?
Jake: Yeah, Greenlee. We'll still be friends.

Leo: Wow.
Laura: Yeah, I put this on even though we can't make love yet.
Leo: Did I get you this?
Laura: Yeah, you did. I wish we could --
Leo: Shh. There'll be plenty of time.

Greenlee's voice: I love you, Leo.

Tad: No, no, Derek, it's not just the rat. The man threatened me.
Derek: Tad, calm down.
Tad: Don't tell me to calm down! How the hell did he get in here?
Derek: Tad, I need you to keep your voice down.
Tad: He's obviously a maniac, ok? The next thing you know, he's going to be poisoning my oatmeal.
Derek: Look, I'll make sure he doesn't get in here again.
Tad: How? How? What are you going to do? Are you going to arrest him? Huh? Can't you -- can't you have him suspended? Can't you just make sure he stays up in Center City?
Derek: Tad, I'm telling you to keep quiet.
Tad: Why are you acting like he just wished me a Merry Christmas, ok? He served me a dead rat. He's a fruit loop, you know? He's completely strung out.
Derek: Tad, the man's a good cop. His kid was just killed. I mean, the guy is -- the officers here, they feel sorry for him.
Tad: So you're going to give him a pass?
Derek: No, I just don't want you to have even more enemies while you're locked up in here.
Tad: Never mind the fact that I shouldn't be here in the first place. A guy comes into my cell and threatens my life, and despite the fact that you are one of my best friends, because you're a cop, you're on his side?
Derek: Tad, trust me. You're in no danger here. And you can stop worrying about Dixie.
Tad: Did you talk to her about Fiedler?
Derek: Yeah. She's going to let me do my job.
Tad: No, no, Derek. Come on, Derek.
Derek: Look, Tad, your losing control is not going to help you. Look, I am doing everything I can to keep you and your family safe.

Dixie: What's this?
J.R.: Got it from some guy outside. He said to give it to you.
Dixie: Already? Was it a guy with -- never mind. Thank you.
J.R.: No problem. I'm going to go to bed now.
Dixie: Ok. Have you done your summer reading?
J.R.: I'm on top of it, Mom. Don't worry.
Dixie: Ok. Good night. I love you.
J.R.: I love you, too.

Dixie: "See how easy it was for me to get to your son? This envelope could have been a bullet. Don't ask any more questions."

Dixie: J.R.? J.R.!
J.R.: Mom --
Dixie: Come here, come here. Oh, my God.
J.R.: What's wrong? Why are you shivering?

ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Marian: I asked you to get rid of her, Ryan. I didn't tell you to kill her.

Gillian: Who are you?
Man: I'm Ray Gardner. Pleased to meet you.

Carl: You killed my son. Now I'm going to kill you.
