ALL MY CHILDREN

JUNE 12, 2000

Hayley: You're right. If love wasn't eternal, I don't think Mateo and I would keep finding our way back to each other.
Women: Aw.
Mateo: Now, I know men aren't usually allowed or invited to bridal showers, but --
Tina: No, does that mean that we get to crash the bachelor party?
Women: Yeah!
Mateo: Just as somebody's jumping out of a cake.
Isabella: I'm so sorry I'm late.
Mateo: Mom. Hey.
Liza: Hi.
Hayley: Mateo's mom, my future mother-in-law.
Mateo: But seriously, I just want to say one thing before I go -- is that, Hayley, I'm never letting you go.
Women: Aw.
Tina: How much would you pay to have a man whisper that in your ear?
Greenlee: All the money my family has.
Liza: Well, may your love survive all obstacles. Your love was meant to be. Even though he can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

[Laughter]

Liza: But it is essential to have your soul mate because I think we give up on most things in life. So may your love sustain you the rest of your lives and beyond. To eternal love.
All: Eternal love.
Hayley: Now, about that pain in the butt part.
Mateo: Yeah, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Tina: Well, it's too late. They're already thinking with the same brain.

[Laughter]

Hayley: I just want to say that from the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew that you were my eternity.
Liza: That's so sweet.
Dixie: Oh, wow!
Mateo: I love you, too. And just so -- just for everyone -- everyone knows this is our last trip down the aisle.
Isabella: Oh, I hope so.
Dixie: As a former serial bride myself, I say, you just do it. Keep going till you get it right.
Greenlee: You go girl.
Isabella: Hayley, I have been praying for the day when I would see you as my daughter-in-law again, and I guess somebody heard me.
Mateo: Great. She had Father Tony blessed a special rosary just for us. She was praying, she kept going.
Gillian: Well, there's only been one woman for Mateo.
Hayley: Only one man for me.
Women: Yay!

Hayley: Oh! Commercial break. I'm so sorry. I completely forgot. I'm sorry. Forgive me. When we come back, the results of the "Wave" web poll. And we'll see which gown you chose for me to say "I do" in. Stay with us.
Mateo: All right!
Brooke: Yeah!
All: Yea!
Tina: Oh, that was so sweet.

Liza: Winifred, it's Liza. Did Adam call? No. No, no. I'm at the studio. Would you contact me as soon as he tries to reach me? Thanks. Where are you, Adam?

Arlene: Tell me what to do for you.
Adam: Stop talking.
Arlene: Look, I know it's been a long time since we made love, but --
Adam: An eternity.
Arlene: Yeah, but I remember how it was.
Adam: I was younger then, less discriminating.
Arlene: You know, when a man gets overexcited, he freezes up sometimes. That's ok.
Adam: Usually when I get overexcited it has the opposite effect, Arlene.
Arlene: Well, I wouldn't mind that, either. Just relax. Let it happen.
Adam: Anyone call the undertaker?
Arlene: What?
Adam: I knew I was dead from the neck up, but now I feel -- I seem to be dead from the waist down. The waist down.
Arlene: Don't say that, Adam. Come on.
Adam: Oh, you're in bed with dead man, Arlene. So unless you're really into that kind of thing, I think you'd better just keep your knickers on.

Alex: My name is Anna Devane. I began my career as a double agent for the D.V.X. My specialty was setting and defusing explosives. I was working for the world security bureau when I met my future husband, Robert Scorpio. Scorpio and I were married in Italy. We were very happy for a while, till he discovered my duplicity and divorced me. I gave birth to his daughter, Robin, in secret, who I raised with a wonderful woman, Filomena Soltini. I was named co-chief of police of Port Charles, New York, where I met and married Duke Lavery. His involvement with the mob caused him to lose his life.

Dimitri: You doctored the tape.
Charlotte: Anna just explained everything.
Dimitri: My wife's name is Alex.
Charlotte: Is it? How can you be sure?
Dimitri: Because I know her.
Charlotte: Yes, you do. Even better than she knows herself. And that is why you're here.

Alex: Oh, God. Who is she?

"Divorced -- Robert Scorpio -- was predeceased by her second husband, Duke Lavery, and is survived by a daughter, Robin."

Edmund: Alex, Stella's got your room ready and it's -- what is it? What is it?
Alex: It's Anna Devane. She -- we --
Edmund: Wait -- hold on a second. Just take it easy.
Alex: Read this. Some of the things I remember. They're hers.
Edmund: Ok. This is -- computer. You don't have to believe everything, you know? Somebody could have just written this stuff and just slapped it in there with a picture.
Alex: Isn't it possible? I mean, is this me, Edmund?
Edmund: Alex, you're not dead.
Alex: Maybe a part of me is.
Alex: This is a photo of me we're looking at, right? Or am I crazy?
Edmund: Alex, you're not crazy. This is a photo of somebody who looks a hell of a lot like you. Look, maybe this whole thing is fake. Maybe Anna's death is faked.
Alex: If we're the same person, you know, once she had died, then I'd be able to get on with my life, right? Isn't that what they wanted?
Edmund: The people at Bryn Wydd that called you Anna? Well, look, anything's possible, ok? We -- there's a whole chapter of your life that you don't remember.
Alex: What are you saying?
Edmund: I'm not --
Alex: I couldn't possibly have done all of this during that time. I mean, look. She's led a full life.
Edmund: Ok, ok. Let me just read it, all right? "Port Charles Police Department, New York. Two husbands." There's the girl, Robin, the child.
Alex: I had a life in England, parents that loved me, medical school. You were at the house that I spent my summers in. And you read the note that I hid as a little girl. I hid that note.
Edmund: Yes, I know. I read it.
Alex: I wrote it.
Edmund: Ok, ok. Look, there's a logical explanation to this, ok? We just don't have all the pieces yet, that's all.
Alex: I named your horse Scorpio. I mean, you can't tell me that that's a coincidence. My mind -- my mind is a padded cell. I'm bouncing off the walls, I swear.
Edmund Alex. Alex, listen to me. I don't have the answers, ok? Look at me, Alex. All I know is you're not alone in this.

Dixie: Excuse me.
Dixie: Excuse me. Liza?
Liza: Oh, you know, whatever it is, I don't have time. Hayley's about ready to go back on the air.
Dixie: Look, is Adam ok? I'm sorry. I couldn't help but overhear.
Liza: You know, realistically, what difference does it make? You made it perfectly clear you want nothing to do with Adam.
Dixie: Well, no, I don't, not in his present state of mind, but he is Junior's father, right?
Liza: Yeah, and he's Colby's father, too.
Dixie: Is that why you're having sex with him again, because he's Colby's father?
Liza: You know, Dixie, I don't expect you to be this pillar of understanding for me, but as a mother --
Dixie: As a mother? Listen, there is Skye, Junior, Colby, Hayley. At last count, you're the only mother that wants him back.
Liza: You know what? What I did to Adam, I really thought was for Colby's sake. And it was a lie.
Dixie: Yeah, you did it for yourself.
Liza: It was revenge, ok? But I feel like I have pushed Adam into this empty, bottomless pit. Now, what am I supposed to say to your son? What am I supposed to say to my daughter to justify that?

Eli: Stand by, everybody. We're coming back.

Dixie: Whatever you did, Adam is not going to kill himself.
Liza: He's already dead -- to himself and to everybody else. Putting his body in the ground is merely a formality, Dixie.

Eli: We're back. In five, four, three, two --

Hayley: And welcome back to a very special live broadcast of "Wave." The big moment, the big reveal. The moment you voted for and have been waiting for.

Arlene: How can you be a dead man, Adam? You're in the prime of you life. Come on.
Adam: Oh, tell it to Mr. Wickie.
Arlene: Well, there are certain parts of your anatomy that aren't cooperating right now, but that's not going to last for long. Don't worry.
Adam: No big thing, huh?
Arlene: The first thing you got to do is stop laughing about it. Come on.
Adam: All my life I've been running around chasing after everything I thought I wanted. And now I finally got what I deserve!
Arlene: Losing Stuart has put you through the grinder these past few weeks. I understand. But that's --
Adam: I didn't lose Stuart like a set of car keys! I killed him.
Arlene: All right. You know, this bender is starting to take its toll. We've been going nonstop since Pine Valley. How about I run you a nice, hot tub, get the blood pumping, hmm? And then I'll soap you up later. All right?

Hayley: Well, the results are in, and I couldn't be happier.
Liza: Well, the dress is sensational. Your viewers have excellent taste.
Hayley: The Internet has spoken wisely. Thank everyone. I'd like to thank everyone who voted.
Isabella: Oh, have you decided where you're going to have the wedding, Hayley?
Hayley: Yes. As a matter of fact, Edmund Grey, our very dear friend and publisher of "Tempo" magazine, has graciously offered the use of his personal chapel on the Wildwind estate.
Women: Wow.
Liza: So is your father going to be giving you away?
Hayley: I hope so. That would make the day even more special.
Liza: Well, Adam, if you're listening, your daughter misses you very much and very much wants you to be there. Remember, Hayley is not planning on doing this ever again.
Hayley: That's right.

[Laughter]

Hayley: Well, that's all we have for today's edition of "Wave." And thank you very much --

Arlene: Don't Adam!

Hayley: Again, for voting. And remember, the next time you see me, I will be Hayley Santos.
All: Yea!

Arlene: You're going to regret making that phone call.
Adam: Oh, am I?
Arlene yeah. You saw Liza's face. She feels sorry for you.
Adam: That's her Achilles' heel. She still cares.
Arlene: And you'll eat it up with a spoon, won't you? You know, until now, I was convinced that you actually felt bad for what you did to Stuart.
Adam: Don't you dare question my feelings for Stuart! Why do you think I'm throwing my life away, stupid drunk?
Arlene: And I'm the only one who will let you wallow in your guilt. But you know what? What you really want is to be forgiven.
Adam: I don't deserve that.
Arlene: Well, then stay here. At least you'll be yourself on your own terms.
Arlene: Or you could call home. And everyone would just let you off the hook.
Adam: Who says I'm calling home? What would you like, Arlene?
Arlene: Other than the 500 grand you promised me, don't call home.
Adam: No, I mean from room service.
Arlene: Oh. Something creamy.
Adam: Like a Waldorf salad, for example?
Arlene: Perfect. Oh, and throw in some oysters. They do a good thing to a man.

Dixie: Liza, I doubt Adam was watching.
Liza: You know, it was worth try. He's got to be out there somewhere.
Dixie: Look, so what if he's not around for a couple of days. Maybe it'll be good for him.
Liza: You know, we don't know where he is, and we don't know what he's done to himself. And you honestly think that I'm overreacting?
Dixie: Yes. I don't understand why you love him. We all know what it's like to be married to Adam.
Liza: He gave me a child.
Dixie: He biologically raped you.
Liza: And a child whose eyes I look into -- Colby's eyes -- and all I see is love.
Dixie: It's Colby's love.
Liza: And Adam's love. And Adam's. And I would hate to think what would happen if I didn't try to get him back.
Dixie: Then what's going to happen? You going to become another one of his victims again, and then Colby's going to have to pay the price?
Liza: No, you have no idea the strength it takes to love Adam Chandler.
Dixie: Yes, I do. And I'm telling you right now it is not worth it.

Hayley: I can't believe what you have done for me. This was the best wedding shower ever.
Brooke: Yes.
Hayley: I know.
Greenlee: See you later.
Tina: No, it's true. Bye.
Hayley: Oh, thanks.
Tina: Bye.
Gillian: Bye. Take care.
Isabella: We'll see you later.

Mateo: Did I miss much? What's going on?
Hayley: Stop!
Mateo: What, what, what?
Hayley: Close your eyes. Where's the gown?
Brooke: It's safely locked away.
Hayley: Ok.
Brooke: Ok.
Hayley: I'm calm now.
Brooke: Ok.

Eliot: Am I early?
Mateo: You're right on time. You're right on time. Rev. Freeman, this is my mother, Isabella Santos.
Isabella: Hello.
Eliot: Hi. Hi.
Mateo: Rev. Freeman's going to be performing the ceremony for Hayley and I.
Isabella: Oh.
Eliot: I know that Father. Tony is your priest, but when Rome calls, you answer.
Isabella: Thank you for stepping in.
Father. Tony will bless the marriage when he gets back.
Mateo: Now, I don't know if you've met everyone. This is --
Eliot: I've met Brooke.
Brooke: Yes, we've met.
Mateo: And, Liza Chandler, Rev. Freeman.
Liza: Hi.
Eliot: Eliot, please.
Liza: Oh -- thank you. Nice to meet you. Good luck with the details, guys.
Hayley: Thanks.
Mateo: Thank you.
Liza: Ok.
Hayley: See you.

Eliot: Well, hey -- we better get started. I've got to visit the hospital, so --
Isabella: Oh, Mateo tells me that you like to counsel the couple before you perform the ceremony.
Eliot: Well, actually, I like to get to know the people better. You know, I ask them all the same question. 20 Years from now, what will you be talking about on a long winter night?
Isabella: Hmm. I was married to my late husband for 31 years.
Mateo: Yeah, you guys never ran out of things to say, especially to us kids.
Isabella: Thank you.
Eliot: Where should we go?
Hayley: Oh -- we can go right over here. The studio's clearing out, so --
Eliot: Good.
Brooke: Oh, we'll give you your privacy.
Isabella: Ok. Good to see you. Bye.

Eliot: Who wants to go first?

Edmund: Ok, look, Alex, your mom was never the warm and fuzzy type, right? But she was the one constant in your life since you were a child, ok? Did she ever mention to you anything about you leaving, going to Port Charles, becoming a police chief, having a child?
Alex: No.
Edmund: No?
Alex: I'm not Anna. Why does that life seem so familiar to me, though?
Edmund: I don't know. But we're going to find out.

Dimitri: That is Alex. I recognize my own wife.
Charlotte: Do you?
Dimitri: You have her reading from a script. What did you do to her?
Charlotte: Why would you assume that I did anything to her?
Dimitri: Because Alex would never read any of that unless she had a gun to her head or that you had drugged her.
Charlotte: You really have no idea, do you?
Dimitri: About what?
Charlotte: You were going to tell Alexandra everything you knew about Anna.
Dimitri: Who is Anna?
Charlotte: You're completely in the dark.
Charlotte: I'm done with Mr. Marick. Take him away.
Dimitri: What a minute. Where are you taking me now?
Charlotte: It would hardly matter even if you knew.
Dimitri: I thought you wanted me -- you know, I thought we wanted to, you know, make a deal, have me join the team?
Charlotte: You never had any notion of doing that.
Dimitri: It's like you've kept me here all this time to find out what I know.
Charlotte: Which turns out to be nothing, so take him away. He's of no use to me anymore.

Charlotte: Could've been an exceptional man.

[Telephone rings]

Charlotte: Hello?
Alex: Mom? It's me.
Charlotte: Hello, darling. How are you?
Alex: I'm not good. Listen, are you absolutely positive you never heard of a woman called Anna Devane?
Charlotte: Yes. Why should I?
Edmund: Ask her directly.
Alex: Um, just bear with me. I'm -- I'm considering the possibility that -- it's just a possibility -- that during my time at Bryn Wydd, that I could have been -- I don't know -- maybe I was being -- trained as a spy.
Charlotte: Alexandra, are you all right?
Alex: Please answer me.
Charlotte: Well, answer you. Answer you what? I don't understand. I mean, how could -- how could someone like you possibly be a spy?
Alex: I don't know. I mean, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
Charlotte: Alexandra, it'll take me a few days, but I'm coming to Pine Valley.
Alex: No, no. No, that's not necessary.
Charlotte: Yes. Yes, it is. I'm asserting my rights as a mother. I'll call you with my flight number.
Alex: Ok. I'm here, ok?
Charlotte: Good-bye, darling.

Arlene: I can't believe you don't remember when we met. Hmm?
Adam: We were drunk.
Arlene: No, no. Not the night that we made Hayley. Before that. When you were inspecting the Chicago office, and I was the secretary.
Adam: I wasn't interested in the steno pool.
Arlene: I got my hair done, and I bought this dress that set me back two weeks' salary. It was green with yellow flowers.
Adam: You don't say.
Arlene: Mm-hmm. And I shook your hand, and you looked right through me.
Adam: What'd you expect me to do, sweep you off your feet?
Arlene: Well, you did later on in the hotel bar.
Adam: What were you wearing then? A thong and a smile?
Arlene: No. The same dress, different attitude. I told you that you were the handsomest man I'd ever met.
Adam: And I asked you how much you charged for a good time.
Arlene: No. You smiled and said, "thank you."
Adam: Ever the gentleman.
Arlene: Until you attacked me in the elevator on the way to your hotel room. I thought it was going to be a one-night stand. I mean, the great Adam Chandler. And I was nothing.
Adam: Now we're both nothing.
Arlene: You chose me, Adam. You wanted to be with someone that night, and you chose me. It changed my life. I had your child.
Adam: Hayley's never forgiven me for it.
Arlene: And you chose me again. And that's why I'm here.
Adam: And I despise myself for it.
Arlene: Let me give you a massage, hmm? Turn over. Might take the sting out of you.
Adam: All right, Arlene. You win.
Arlene: I usually do in the end. You're mine, Adam. I'm not letting you go.

Eliot: Why do you have to get remarried?
Hayley: You want to take this one?
Mateo: Yeah. Before I met Hayley, I was married to a woman named Raquel. And I thought she was out of my life for a long time, but she showed up here with my son, who I didn't know I had. Um --
Hayley: Anyway, she -- she, you know, sort of announced that she never signed the annulment papers.
Mateo: Right.
Hayley: And that she had no intention of divorcing Mateo anytime.
Eliot: But you two stood by each other.
Hayley: Well, nothing is ever that simple.
Mateo: She started seeing a friend -- a mutual acquaintance of ours. His name is Ryan.
Eliot: Mm-hmm.
Mateo: You know, I -- I freaked out, and she got defensive. And I -- I pressed the issue. I -- I -- I tempted her with -- by forcing -- I put a glass of vodka in her face, and she's --
Hayley: I'm an alcoholic.
Eliot: Yes. But, hey, here you are. I'm looking at a couple of survivors.
Mateo: You know, I've done a lot of messed-up things where's Hayley's concerned, and I regret all of them.
Eliot: You've been cruel.
Mateo: Yeah. That's understatement.
Eliot: And you've forgiven him?
Hayley: It took me a while, but, yeah, I did.
Eliot: And you, Mateo?
Mateo: I forgive Hayley anything. You know, and that thing with Ryan, he took advantage and, you know --
Hayley: I take responsibility.
Mateo: Well, you know, you were vulnerable, and he should have known that.
Hayley: I've -- I've never -- I've never blamed my actions on anybody else. You know that. I've always taken responsibility for my own behavior.
Eliot: Is it difficult for you to let Hayley do that, Mateo?
Mateo: In my mind, it's ancient history. It's over, so --
Eliot: But you haven't forgiven Ryan.
Mateo: We've --
Eliot: You know, in the Buddhist tradition, people that cause you trouble in your life are seen as an opportunity to examine yourself.
Mateo: You know, Ryan and I have come to an understanding, but, you know, as far as him leading me down some path of enlightenment, that's not going to happen.
Eliot: Whoa. But what if he can? I mean, you condemn Ryan, but maybe you should thank him instead. I can tell that you're a wiser man after your experience with him.
Mateo: I dealt with it.
Hayley: Are you saying that we should thank everyone in our life who drives us crazy?
Eliot: That's one theory.
Hayley: My -- my -- my mother has really devoted her life to ruining mine and -- well, what are you saying? I should just accept her or --
Eliot: Would you be the same person you are today without her?
Hayley: You know, this isn't going to sound very godly, but I've often dreamed about what my life would have be like if my mother would somehow cease to exist. Different?
Hayley: Well, I probably wouldn't be an alcoholic.
Eliot: You wouldn't be you.
Hayley: I'd take that chance if it meant I could do life all over again.
Eliot: And then what? Hayley chooses another path. She doesn't make any of the same mistakes.
Mateo: You'd be a different person.
Hayley: You'd still love me.
Eliot: Mateo might not even know you.
Mateo: Yeah, what if you never ended up on that beach that night, huh?
Hayley: You would have found me one way or another.
Eliot: So you believe in fate?
Hayley: When it comes to this man, I absolutely believe in fate. He was meant for me and only me.
Mateo: Yeah, but, you know, if we did meet -- you know, on the chance we did meet, you'd be this new and improved Hayley. It wouldn't be the same, you know? I love you for who you are. I think you're perfect for me.
Hayley: I could be better.
Mateo: I wouldn't have you any other way.
Hayley: See, we've lived enough for 10 lifetimes, and we still love each other. And don't tell me I have Arlene to thank for that.
Eliot: Arlene Vaughan?
Hayley: Mm-hmm. Judging by the look on your face, I'd say you've heard of her or she hit on you.
Eliot: Brooke has been trying to help her.
Hayley: Yeah, many have tried. All have failed. She's hopeless.
Eliot: I don't believe that's true of anyone.
Mateo: That's why you're the holy man.

Brooke: I'm sorry to interrupt. I just -- I left my cell phone.
Eliot: That's fine.
Brooke: Sorry, you guys.
Eliot: I think we're done here.
Mateo: Yeah? We're done? Did we -- you know, did we pass?
Eliot: It will be an honor to marry you.
Hayley: Oh! Thanks a lot.
Mateo: Thanks, Reverend. All right, we'll see you then --
Hayley: Ok. Thank you.
Eliot: I'll see you soon.
Mateo: At the chapel.
Eliot: Yeah.
Hayley: Bye. Oh -- ooh!
Mateo: Ooh. I'm sorry.

Brooke: Well, those two were glowing.
Eliot: They bring it out in each other.
Brooke: Hmm. So, how does a man who's never been married dole out advice as a marriage counselor, huh? Isn't that a little like taking flying lessons from someone who's never been in a plane?
Eliot: Ow.

[Knock on door]
Arlene: Hello.
Waiter: I -- I have your order. Where would you like me to put it?
Arlene: Anywhere's fine.
Waiter: Excuse me. I didn't realize someone was sleeping.
Arlene: He can't keep up with me.
Waiter: It's too bad. Husband?
Arlene: Do I look like the settle-down type?
Waiter: Not the type I was thinking of.
Arlene: Uh -- you know, I -- I'd hate to wake him. Maybe I should eat in the other room.
Waiter: Adjoining rooms.
Arlene: He snores.
Waiter: Well, it would be a shame for you to have to eat alone.
Arlene: Poor me. Any ideas?
Waiter: Well, I have a dinner break coming up. Look at that -- just started.
Arlene: How convenient.
Waiter: Yeah. So, would you -- would you like some company?

Adrian: I've got a preliminary report.
Edmund: All right, let's hear it.
Adrian: Well, Alex is definitely a dead ringer for Anna Devane.
Alex: Oh.
Edmund: What about the obituary?
Adrian: There's a copy right there. It's an official government document.
Edmund: Could somebody have faked these?
Adrian: I had them verified with some sources.
Alex: So she really is dead?
Adrian: Well, the body was never found. But she was also very much alive at one point.
Alex: Then we're not the same person, right?
Adrian: Well, I know the documents are real. I don't know if they're true.
Edmund: How do we clear this up?
Adrian: Fingerprints. They never lie. Anna's prints are already on file. All we have to do now is compare them to yours.
Edmund: We should get on that ASAP.
Alex: Yeah. I could stop by the police station tomorrow.
Edmund: No, they don't print you unless you're being processed for a crime. But I could talk to Derek, call in a favor.
Adrian: Or you could talk to me.
Alex: You can do it?
Adrian: Whenever I'm dealing with identity cases I always come prepared. I can set the equipment up right now if you like.
Alex: Oh, just a minute. Um --
Edmund: Alex, this is our best shot at the truth. This is what we're waiting for.
Alex: Ok.

Eliot: For your information, you know, they do teach counseling at divinity school. And I will have you know that I happen to have a very impressive record when it comes to marrying people.
Brooke: And what's your record?
Eliot: No divorces.
Brooke: Well, I should have met you before I ever got married and maybe I wouldn't be divorced.
Eliot: Don't say that, Brooke. Everything happens for a reason. You know that.
Brooke: Oh, really? So what does that mean? All of my divorces are sort of part of a greater plan?
Eliot: Well, depends on what the greater plan of your life is.
Brooke: You know what, Eliot? I never liked mysteries. And when things happen to you, when you -- you lose someone close for no reason, it just seems foolish to think that life is ever going to make sense.
Eliot: It still can. It's not too late, Brooke.
Brooke: I have to run. So, I'll see you at the wedding, yes?
Eliot: I'll be the one with the collar on.

[Brooke laughs]

Hayley: Have I thanked you for my surprise wedding shower yet?
Mateo: About a million times. You know, I didn't want you missing out on all that good stuff. How do you feel?
Hayley: It was an interesting meeting with Eliot.
Mateo: He knows his stuff.
Hayley: Hmm. I suppose that if everything in life is supposed to happen, then all I have to do is really sit back and watch.
Mateo: I heard you announce that the wedding's at Wildwind. You're using your brains again, huh?
Hayley: Smart, right?
Mateo: Ah, man. If Arlene was watching, she's probably scheming how to get over the front gate right now.
Hayley: I'm sure Arlene was watching. And hopefully Stella will call the cops and have her arrested.
Mateo: Yeah, you know, enough about Arlene. She's out of our lives. I feel the white light shining on us.
Hayley: It's really going to happen this time, isn't it? We're going to have a real-life wedding. I mean, no hospital beds, no ex-wives crawling out of the woodwork.
Mateo: I'm counting the days.
Hayley: I'm counting the seconds and the minutes and the hours. I can't wait for you to be my husband again.
Mateo: Yeah. You know, all that stuff that we went through, you know, the only thing that matters, the only thing that will ever matter is that I love you.
Hayley: I love you, too.

Arlene: Uh, as much as I'd like some company, I think I better eat alone.
Waiter: Hmm. Another time, then.
Arlene: You're just a phone call away.
Waiter: The staff prides itself in offering only the most personal service.

Arlene: Back in bed with Adam Chandler. If my friends could see me now.

Charlotte: Find an independent operator to deal with Mr. Marick. I need him disposed of, but not by anyone connected to this organization.
Quinn: Yes, ma'am. You're sure he's of no use to us anymore?
Charlotte: No, not for what I have in mind. I'll need Alexandra for that.
Quinn: It's been years since she's done any work.
Charlotte: It's like riding a bicycle. You never forget. I have no choice.

Edmund: I have some messages from the office I've got to return.
Alex: Oh, my goodness. You've been spending so much time with me lately, I'm surprised you have a magazine left.
Edmund: Yeah, I do. A little one. Got a good co-editor. Listen, Adrian, good work. Thanks.
Adrian: I'll have the results back as soon as I can.
Edmund: Ok. I'll see you real soon.
Alex: Bye.

Alex: Are you going to run the prints yourself?
Adrian: I have a few friends that owe me.
Alex: You didn't want me to go to the police station, did you? You don't trust them.
Adrian: I don't trust the situation that you're in.
Alex: Do you think I could be her -- Anna?
Adrian: We'll know soon enough. But I've got to tell you I have a feeling about this. In the field, we used to call it having a third eye. Lets you know when you should watch your back.
Alex: Should I be doing that?
Adrian: Yeah, if you're smart. Good night, Alex.
