ALL MY CHILDREN

JUNE 7, 2000

Arlene: Look at this! $200 From the slot machines!
Adam: So you broke the bank at Sea City Cas-- Sea City -- that's hard to say.
Arlene: Uh-huh.
Adam: On to Disney World.
Arlene: Oh, no, oh, no. I'm going to stay in the big apple and buy myself some designer chic.
Adam: Really? Happiness is a new dress.
Arlene: Oh, it's a material world and I'm a material girl. You order us a couple more. I'm going to go to the little girls' room.

Liza: Please Adam. Please just tell me that you love me.
Adam: I don't love you! I can't!

Arlene: I forgot a tip for the stall matron. Oh, you look a little grim.
Adam: No, go on. Answer nature's call.
Arlene: You're thinking about Liza, aren't you? Your divorce is final. You gave her her walking papers. I mean, cry freedom.
Adam: Arlene, for God's sake, why can't you ever shut up?

David: You look flushed.
Dixie: Oh, never mind. Just forget my blood pressure, David, ok? I'm sorry. I have to go meet Tad.
David: Look, why don't you try to de-stress first.
Dixie: Ok. Would you like to sign my petition to run Liza Colby out of town?
David: I just saw Liza pulling out the parking lot when I was pulling in and she looked frazzled. Wild guess -- you two had a falling out, right?
Dixie: Well, yes, she just told me something with an ick factor of 10. Then she swore me to secrecy. Enter Tad, who comes in and I -- I lie to him, which does not sit well with me.
David: You refused to betray a confidence.
Dixie: That's putting a little spin on it, don't you think?
David: No, it's not spin. It's balance. What Tad needs to know versus too much info, which could lead to unpleasant complications. "Keep life simple." Used to be my motto.
Dixie: Oh, did you learn that in medical school?
David: No. No, lying is a fine art. It takes practice. And no one does it better than my mother.

Vanessa: Dear God. Palmer said you were staying here and I just didn't believe him. How long have you and Erica been simpatico?
Leo: We bonded right around the time you let me hang for Paolo's murder.
Vanessa: Oh, please, don't be so ghoulish, darling. Come on, I have wonderful news.
Leo: This isn't a good time, Mother.
Vanessa: Nonsense. Happens to be the best of times, times for rejoicing. You see, I just found out from Derek that the evidence against you is missing. I mean, there's nothing to connect you -- or me, for that matter -- with Paolo's murder. So, darling, we are in the clear. I mean, all charged are dropped. We're free of all suspicion. Isn't that marvelous? Well, you know, I happen to remember that Erica keeps a case of champagne downstairs to celebrate, you know, on special occasions, and how about we crack open a bottle?
Leo: I'm not in the mood for champagne.
Vanessa: Really? Well, darling, we could still celebrate your freedom. I mean, this -- this horrible nightmare is over. We can get back to life the way it used to be.
Leo: The way life used to be? I just discovered there is no such place.

Eugenia: Perhaps you should reread Jake's letters. You might have missed something between the lines.
Gillian: Oh, Grandmama, after everything that's happened, I have to believe that it's going to work out for me and Ryan, and Jake.
Eugenia: You do love Ryan, don't you?
Gillian: I've never stopped. But you mustn't breathe a word to anyone about this. We cannot tell anybody about me and Ryan -- not before I've spoken to Jake. Will you promise me not to tell anybody? Promise?
Eugenia: Oh, what the heart wants, it wants, doesn't it? What choice do I have?

Edmund: Ah, home at last.
Alex: Yeah.
Edmund: Alex, you ok? You haven't said a word since we landed.
Alex: No, I don't know. I mean, I'm just jet-lagged or post-traumatic something or other.
Edmund: Well, you're a doctor. I would expect an accurate diagnosis like that. Listen, the bad guys lost, ok? We won. You're home and you're safe.

Dimitri: Why did you let me live when you killed my wife and brother?
Charlotte: They were expendable. You, on the other hand, have residual value. I want to know how you penetrated the organization and how you unraveled the truth of Alexandra's past.
Dimitri: Debrief me, then kill me, right?
Charlotte: Oh, you don't have to die, Dimitri. The choice is entirely up to you.

Edmund: Hello.
Gillian: How are you?
Alex: So good to be back.
Gillian: Oh, it's good to see you. Hey, Edmund.
Eugenia: We were so worried about you.
Edmund: Oh, Eugenia, you always worry about us. Everything's fine, everything's fine. Please.
Eugenia: Please, let's all sit down. Do.
Alex: Gillian, I am so sorry that you were involved in all of this. I really am.
Gillian: Oh, you guys heard about Guy's body, that it just vanished without a trace, right?
Alex: Yes, yes.
Edmund: Well, actually, we think it was retrieved.
Gillian: Who'd want to steal a dead body? Was he a spy or something? Who would want to hurt you, Alex?
Alex: We don't have all the answers, sweetheart, but I assume someone was sent to dispose of the evidence.
Eugenia: You know, it sounds nefarious, I think I'd better dust off my old derringer.
Edmund: You know what? We really think that the ordeal is over.
Eugenia: What ordeal, precisely?
Alex: Oh, Eugenia, I'm sorry we're being so vague, but really, the less you know, the safer you will be.
Edmund: Mm-hmm, and just to be on the safe side, we have beefed up security on the grounds.
Alex: Yeah, Derek's men are on the watch. But, you know, I mean, I don't think that there's anything to be worried about anymore. Do you?
Gillian: Alex? Were you able to find what you were looking for, the missing links to your past?
Alex: Well, actually, no. But I kind of stumbled across my future maybe.

Waiter: Another round?
Adam: No, just the check. Wait, wait. Here.
Waiter: Thank you.

Erica: Adam? You look like hell.
Adam: I just spent the night there.
Erica: Are you in New York on business?
Adam: Uh --
Arlene: He's here to party -- with me.

Vanessa: Leo, you and I have always had falling outs, but we've always found our way back to each other.
Leo: I was the one who always did the crawling. Not this time.
Vanessa: How long are you going to punish me for this? You know, I really don't deserve it, darling. I was going to -- to step up. I was going to --
Leo: What, you were going to step forward when the time was right? What, admit that you were the one that killed Paolo?
Vanessa: I did no such thing! That was an accidental overdose. Why do you insist on painting me out to be a cold-blooded killer?
Leo: Because that's what you are.
Vanessa: Oh.
Leo: You're cold-blooded and you're venomous, like a snake. I used to kid myself into believing that you didn't know when you were lying. Do you remember when I was 10? I was away at boarding school and you sent for me to come and spend the Christmas holidays with you in Switzerland?
Vanessa: Oh, how many times do we have to go over ancient history?
Leo: Christmas Eve came and went. I spent Christmas day alone. Padded over to my empty stocking, no presents under the tree. Well, no, I take that back. There was a -- there was a box of mints from the chambermaid with a little ribbon on it.
Vanessa: Oh, come on, Leo, there was an avalanche! I was snowbound! And didn't I make it up to you later?
Leo: No, later doesn't cut it, not when you're 10 years old. And you know what's funny? I could handle knowing that there was no Santa Claus. But despite all the last-minute cancellations and the lies you told and all the bitter disappointments, I could never bring myself to stop believing in you. My perfect mother. The one who loved me best.
Vanessa: And that's true. That's true. Leo, come on, you and I traveled the world, from Paris and Venice, Hong Kong. I have given you a life that most children only dream of.
Leo: That's the life I wanted -- the life that other kids had. To hell with Paris and Venice and Hong Kong. I wanted to feel special.
Vanessa: Well, you were special.
Leo: I wanted to count!
Vanessa: You were! You are.
Leo: Liar! You never loved me! You loved showing me off! Little Leo in a tux, sitting ringside at the Lido, watching the high-class strippers strut their stuff onstage. You used me. You used me and you discarded me just like everybody else. How special is that?
Vanessa: Darling, oh, darling, I never meant to hurt you. Never, never.
Leo: Don't you touch me. Don't you ever touch me again.
Vanessa: You know, Leo, these histrionics degrade you and me.
Leo: What are they called?
Vanessa: But, then, you always had a flair for the dramatic, darling.
Leo: What do the shrinks call it? Compensating for the lack of a mother's love?
Vanessa: Oh. All right, darling, if you insist on casting yourself in that light and me as the villain, so be it.
Leo: Hell, I thought you'd be relieved. You don't have to pretend to be my mother anymore. Not that your act ever fooled anyone. No wonder you never made it in Hollywood.
Vanessa: You know, now you sound more like your brother David, and that tone doesn't really suit you, dear.
Leo: Did you know that I made a fool of myself defending you to him? You know, my earliest memory is being held by a woman in a uniform, a nanny. But I don't ever remember you rocking me or holding me. I remember night-lights and nurses with pointy, starched collars that scratched my skin, and I remember them warning me to be a big boy and go to sleep, but -- wait -- I remember feeding you chocolates and I remember kissing you good night, but I don't ever remember closing my eyes and feeling safe.
Vanessa: Not ever?
Leo: Once. Right after I got arrested for Paolo's murder. You swore that you'd be there for me. I felt safe then. My mistake.
Vanessa: Well -- all right, now that you've proven that I'm such an enormous disappointment, what do you want from me?
Leo: I want to know why you decided to keep me.
Vanessa: What do you mean, keep you?
Leo: You had an affair with a married man who refused to leave his wife and make an honest woman out of you. Why? Why was that, Vanessa? Why did you decide to keep me and not dispose of me?

Dixie: Your mother taught you how to lie?
David: Among other vices too numerous to mention.

Jamie: Dixie!
Dixie: Hey, hey! What happened, what happened?
Jamie: I was sliding home and I cut my elbow.
Dixie: Aw. Wait a minute, wait a minute -- you slid home? Does that mean you scored a run, man?
Jamie: Yeah, it does.
Dixie: It does! High-five me, baby! Yeah! That's so cool! You're the best! Now let me see this thing. Hmm, I don't know, doesn't look too bad. Can you go like this? Can you go like this? Can you go like this? Can you go like this? That's good. Think you're going to survive. Let me just get some band-aids for you, huh?
Jamie: No, not the Danger Ranger ones. Those are for babies.
Dixie: Oh, ok. Well, excuse me. All right, well, you'd better go out there and play ball. Take your mitt. I think you're going to be all right. Hey, hey, wait one second. Come here.

[Dixie kisses Jamie's elbow]

Dixie: You all right?
Jamie: Thanks, Dixie.

Dixie: Ok. What is it? Ok, what happened?
David: Haven't you heard? The charges against Leo were dropped. The evidence against him disappeared, mysteriously.
Dixie: You're kidding.
David: Uh-uh.
Dixie: Well, that's great. I mean --

[David sighs]

Dixie: Right? You must be relieved, and Leo I can hardly imagine.
David: Leo had nothing to do with Paolo's murder. It was Vanessa. She accidentally slipped him an overdose. But she was still willing to let Leo hang for it.
Dixie: Oh, my God. Does Leo know?
David: Yeah. Yeah, I opened his eyes the truth, but I think my brother would've preferred to rot in jail for the rest of his life to knowing the truth about our mother.
Dixie: Oh, man, poor Leo. I mean, he really adored Vanessa. He must be devastated.
David: He hates me.
Dixie: No.
David: Yeah. He told me, point-blank.
Dixie: Well, so your brother hates you. I mean, that's really no big deal, right? You're the famous David Hayward. You don't need anybody. I'm sorry. I just think I'm on to you, David, you know? You're not as tough as you'd like everybody to think you are.

Alex: I don't know. Something or someone has put the roses back in your cheeks. You look like a woman in love to me.
Gillian: Well, Alex, actually, I can say the same thing about you.
Alex: Oh, it's, uh, adrenaline. What's your excuse? Have you heard from Jake? Is he coming home? Is that why you look so radiant?

[Doorbell rings]

Gillian: Oh. Excuse me.
Hayley: Oh, hi!
Gillian: Hi.
Hayley: Don't you just love it when your friends drop by unannounced? Could barely get through security.
Mateo: This is a surprise attack, so you don't have time to say no after we ask our favor.
Edmund: Gillian, who is it?
Gillian: Oh --
Mateo: Is that Edmund?
Gillian: Yeah, they're back. Come on in.
Hayley: Well, hello!
Mateo: Hey! I heard you guys were overseas visiting your mother, yeah?
Alex: Yeah, yeah.
Hayley: [British accent] how was jolly old England?
Edmund: England was --
Alex: Old.
Edmund: How's things with you?
Hayley: [Normal voice] oh, the transmission went in my car.
Mateo: Big plumbing disaster at S.O.S.
Hayley: Getting married next week.
Edmund and Gillian: What?
Alex: Oh!
Mateo: You're all invited!
Gillian: Congratulations!
Alex: Congratulations.
Gillian: That is awesome!
Alex: Congratulations, Hayley.
Hayley: Thank you.
Edmund: Hello, sweetie.
Gillian: Oh, wow. So -- ahem -- what was that favor that you wanted to ask me?
Hayley: I know this is super short notice and everything, but I was hoping that you would be a bridesmaid in my wedding.
Gillian: Me?
Hayley: Yeah. You never stopped believing in us. Just say yes. Come on.
Gillian: All right, yes!
Hayley: Whoo!
Gillian: Congratulations. It'll be great.
Hayley: Oh, thanks.
Edmund: We are very happy for you guys.
Mateo: Well, this is a two-part favor.
Edmund: You want me to sing "Oh, Promise Me"?
Alex: No, don't.
Mateo: I, uh -- I want you to be my best man.
Edmund: Wow. Um, isn't there somebody else?
Mateo: Who else is like my brother?
Edmund: I miss my brother. Thank you. I would be -- I would be honored to be your best man.

Dimitri: I get to appeal my death sentence?
Charlotte: You could be quite useful in my organization.
Dimitri: The drugs are wearing off. Did I just hear you say you want to recruit me?
Charlotte: It's important work.
Dimitri: Yes! You put out a hit on your own daughter and killed my brother!
Charlotte: You truly loved Alexandra.
Dimitri: She gave me back my life.
Charlotte: And you planned to do the same in return, fill in the little pieces of Alexandra's life. If we hadn't picked you up at that Seaview facility and made it appear as if you'd killed yourself, you would have told Alexandra everything.
Dimitri: No, no, not everything. My knowledge was incomplete. There were questions I couldn't answer.
Charlotte: Such as?
Dimitri: If Alex was such a threat to you, why didn't you kill her at the start?
Charlotte: Sentiment, Dimitri. Alexandra's my daughter.
Dimitri: Was! Past tense.
Charlotte: Surprise, Mr. Marick. My daughter, your wife, is very much alive.
Dimitri: Alex is alive?
Charlotte: Oh, yes, and well. And back in Pine Valley.
Dimitri: I don't believe you.
Charlotte: Perhaps the sound of her voice will help convince you. Hello, darling? Hello, it's me. I was just calling to make sure that you got home safely. How was your flight?
Dimitri: There's no one there.
Charlotte: So skeptical.
Alex: Well, we had a good tailwind, so we arrived about a half-hour ahead of schedule.
Dimitri: Alex. Alex, it's Dimitri! I'm alive!
Alex: All I really want to do now is have a nice hot bath and sleep for eight hours.
Dimitri: Alex, it's Dimitri!
Charlotte: She can't hear you. I depressed the mute button.
Alex: Mom? Are you there?
Charlotte: Oh. We've been disconnected. These transatlantic cables. They're so unreliable.
Dimitri: She'll call back.
Charlotte: And the line will be busy. It happens so often in the country. Alexandra will understand that.
Dimitri: She sounded happy.
Charlotte: She's very happy. Do you want to know the reason why?

Alex: Oh, I still can't get through to my mother. I'll try again later.
Edmund: Ok. Here.
Alex: Thanks. You mentioned Dimitri again just now. That's the second time in two days.
Edmund: Oh, I'm sorry, Alex. I --
Alex: Oh, no, no, no. I want you to feel that you can talk about him with me. You loved him as much as I did.
Edmund: You know, it's funny -- I thought I was -- remember that hallucination or whatever I had that he was at Bryn Wydd with me when I was so doped up?
Alex: Mm-hmm.
Edmund: It was -- it was just so weird. It was like he was right there in the room with me.
Alex: He's as close as your next heartbeat.

Hayley: I was so nervous about asking you, you know, to be in the wedding.
Gillian: Why, because of what happened with you and Ryan?
Hayley: Yeah, you know, it was stupid.
Gillian: Well, maybe you thought what you had with Mateo was possible with someone else.
Hayley: Yeah. I mean, Ryan's a great guy, you know, but there's only one love in my life.
Gillian: Mine, too.
Hayley: Say what?
Gillian: Hayley, your wedding is in less than a week. We -- there's so much to do. Is there anything I can help you with?
Hayley: No, no, I got that beast tamed. Everything's taken care of.
Gillian: Invitations, wedding lists? Your mom. Is your mom coming?
Hayley: Bite your tongue. Mateo and I have gotten her out of our comfort zone. We threw her out of Pine Valley.
Gillian: You did? Where'd she go?
Hayley: I don't know. That's not my problem. I'm sure she's torturing somebody else by now.

Erica: Adam, I'd like a word in private, if you'll excuse us.
Arlene: Sure thing, Hon. I'll just pep this up a bit.

Erica: Adam, listen to me -- I know that you are mourning Stuart's death. I know that you're out of your mind with grief. But, Adam, you're scaring me.
Adam: No, this is me, the new me. The new, improved me.
Erica: No, Adam, this is you crying out for help. Look, I remember how devastated I was when my mother died.
Adam: Throwing myself on Stuart's grave wasn't an option.
Erica: Going to forgive you that cruelty. I mean, the fact that you're here with Arlene Vaughan is proof that you're not responsible for your own actions.
Adam: No, no. Listen, who I am right now is exactly who I am -- more me now than ever before. Why don't you just go away and leave me alone.
Arlene: You heard him. You're bringing him down.
Erica: I'm bringing him down? No, I don't think so. I think you've done that very well all by yourself. Adam, you're coming home with me.
Arlene: Uh, excuse me. Come here. I need to talk to you.

Erica: Yes?
Arlene: Find some fun of your own.
Erica: Who do you think you are to talk to me like that?
Arlene: I'm not some piece of trash you can just kick around. Why don't you wise up? You're his ex, as in excess baggage. You're not even his friend, for Pete's sake.
Erica: And you're drunk. Arlene: And you're a priss.
The difference is I'll be sober in the morning.
Erica: I guess I've never felt so sorry for Hayley Vaughan in my life as I do right now.
Arlene: At least I'm not acting like my kid was never born. Does the name Kendall ring a bell?

David: Thanks for the dime store analysis, Dixie, but it's not working.
Dixie: Ok. Well, then I guess I'll leave you alone.
David: No, don't go. Please? I want you here.
David: Look, Dixie, I'm sorry. It's a man thing. You know, we've been programmed since birth and fueled with high testosterone to keep everything inside.
Dixie: That's such a load of bull.
David: Well, that's certainly one way to describe it. Oh, come on, don't tell me that Tad sobs on your shoulder, divulges his innermost thoughts.
Dixie: Well, Tad has had a really rough life and a lot to deal with. It's been very hard for him to come to trust somebody. But you -- I just think that there's a hole inside of you and you don't know how to fill it.
David: Yeah. Well, you're trying to shrink-wrap me again, huh?
Dixie: Sorry. I guess it's easy for me to say, huh? You know, I've had a pretty good mom. She gave me unconditional love. Gave me a good head start, courage to face whatever came my way. But you know, one day my mom was in the bathroom crying, and I went and I asked her what was wrong and she told me it was something sad she read in the Ladies' Quarterly. Only, uh, my mom couldn't read. Later, I found out that my father had been cheating on her. He had a whole other family, another wife. And my mama knew.
David: So what did she do? Did she confront him, divorce him?
Dixie: Well, she had every right to, but she didn't, no.
David: Why not?
Dixie: I guess because the part of my daddy's heart that belonged to her was enough to sustain her.
David: Why you telling me this?
Dixie: Because not everybody gets the love that they deserve. But it doesn't have to make you miserable.
David: Well, Leo's strong. He'll survive.
Dixie: Not talking about Leo. I'm talking about you.

Vanessa: Leo, how can you even ask that? Of course I wanted you. I wanted someone to love.
Leo: That wasn't an easy question. I deserve an honest answer.
Vanessa: And I'm telling the truth!
Leo: Why did you saddle yourself with another child, Vanessa? Why was that? David was already off at school and he already hated you for killing his father.
Vanessa: I did not kill David's father!
Leo: Right. Yeah, right. He killed himself, right? Suicide, like Paolo. Another unfortunate accident.
Vanessa: I always loved you best -- always. How can you turn against me like this, Leo? I mean, I -- I -- I can't even believe you're capable of such hatred.
Leo: Why, because I was raised to idolize you? Feed you lines and chocolates? Tell you how perfectly perfect you are?
Vanessa: All right. You want some reality, baby boy? Well, fasten your seat belt. Yes, I could have aborted you. And your father would've continued the arrangement. There would've been a chateau in the Loire, a car, driver, plenty of spending money. Not bad for a kid from a hick town in Kansas -- Russell, Kansas -- right? But I refused. I had the chance at the high life or your life. And you're here. And you want for nothing. And this is the thanks I get. You know, you ungrateful brat!
Leo: You told me my father never knew.
Vanessa: That I was pregnant? Of course he knew! He was a titled nobleman. It was an inconvenience. You were an unwanted child, a worthless bastard.
Leo: That makes you a royal bitch.

Eugenia: Oh, darlings, darlings, don't leave. Stay for lunch.
Hayley: Oh, thanks, Eugenia, but we can't, really. We have some last-minute wedding things to take care of.
Mateo: June 16. Mark it down on your calendars.
Hayley: That's right.
Alex: We wouldn't miss it for the world.
Hayley: Be there or be square.
Gillian: By the way, how's it going with the "Wave" web site?
Hayley: It's going really well. I'm surprised. I mean, it's, you know, really active. I of course don't know which dress they voted for yet. I guess I'll have to wait and be surprised.
Eugenia: Oh, dear. As far as the Internet's concerned, I'm very retro. Come. I'll walk you to the door. You can enlighten me.
Mateo and Hayley: Ok.

Alex: Gillian? Do you have a minute? Can we just talk to you for a sec?
Gillian: Bad news?
Alex: No, no. Well, I don't think so. Um -- something happened with Edmund and I in England the last time we were there.
Gillian: You fell in love.
Edmund: You knew?
Alex: We thought we were being so clever.
Edmund: Yeah. Do you approve?
Gillian: Yes, absolutely! Why do you even ask?
Edmund: Well, you were devoted to Dimitri.
Gillian: Edmund, I'm devoted to you, too.
Alex: You don't think it's disrespectful to his memory or anything?
Gillian: No. I think you two finding love is -- it's a tribute to Dimitri. He would've approved, I know.

Arlene: What do you hear from Kendall lately? Did your absentee daughter send you a Mother's Day card?
Erica: Adam? No help, no defense? Ok. You've made your bed. Now writhe in it.

Arlene: Ok, ok, ok, blast me out. Me and my big mouth.
Adam: You know, I feel like dancing.
Arlene: Really? With me?
Adam: Mm-hmm. You're this man's new best friend. Better than a pit bull.
Arlene: I do have some charms.
Adam: Hmm, hmm, hmm.

David: Look, Dixie, I have to get back to the hospital.
Dixie: You know, I'm not your mother.
David: What is that supposed to mean?
Dixie: It means that you don't have to hide your feelings for me.
David: Why do you care?
Dixie: Well, because -- because you're worth caring about.
David: I am?
Dixie: Just be yourself. You dot have to hide -- not from me.
David: Thank you.
Dixie: You're welcome.

Vanessa: Well, is that my cue to burst into tears and fall to my knees and beg your forgiveness? Cause, Leo, you know I don't grovel well.
Leo: Who you get down on your knees for is up to you. I don't want your apologies. You just get the hell out of here.
Vanessa: Oh. You're kicking me out of Erica Kane's house? Well, isn't that rich.
Leo: Cutting the cord, Vanessa. Leave.
Vanessa: You have always wanted more than I could give. But you know something, Leo? This time I'm willing to oblige. So you can say good-bye to the only person who's ever really loved you.
Leo: Just leave. Get out.
Vanessa: Good-bye.
Leo: Ah!

Alex: Thank you so much for being happy for us.
Gillian: You know, if there's one thing I've learned it's that you can't fight the way you feel. As Grandmama says, the heart wants what it wants. I'm so happy.
Edmund: Thank you.
Gillian: Well, I'd better go upstairs and help Grandmama find a dress for the wedding.
Edmund: Uh-huh.
Alex: Ok.
Edmund: See you later.
Gillian: Welcome home.

Edmund: That was painless.
Alex: That was a relief.
Edmund: Ok, next hurdle -- how do we tell the rest of the family?
Alex: Oh, my goodness. No baby steps for you.
Edmund: No baby steps for me.
Alex: Oh!
Edmund: Why crawl when we can fly?
Alex: Mm-hmm.
Edmund: How about Hayley and Mateo's wedding? How about that?
Alex: Oh, I don't know. I don't -- I don't want to steal their thunder, you know?
Edmund: I'll be discreet.
Alex: Sure.
Edmund: I'll dance every dance with you and I will only have eyes for you.
Alex: Shoo-bop, shoo-bop.
Edmund: My baby, ooh.
Alex: Oh.
Edmund: Ooh. Living arrangements. I want you to move out of the lodge and stay here with me.
Alex: Where will I sleep?
Edmund: Wherever you want. Just for security reasons.
Alex: Mm-hmm.
Edmund: Mm-hmm.
Alex: You're not comfortable in the lodge, are you?
Edmund: It's more than that, but Dimitri meant for that to be a home for you.
Alex: Yeah. You know, I think Gillian was right. I think that he would've wanted us both to find love again, to be happy. You know, maybe somewhere up in heaven he's looking down on us, smiling. I hope so.
Edmund: Yeah.

Charlotte: Alexandra sounded happy because she's found love again -- with your brother. Edmund didn't die at Bryn Wydd. Alexandra rescued him right before the explosion. Yes, they're getting on with their lives, getting on very well without you.

Man: Did Stuart know somebody named Cindy? She has something to tell us.

Stuart: Someone just spoke to me.
