ALL MY CHILDREN

JUNE 13, 2001

Erica: Thank you.
Jack: Thanks, Sir.
Erica: And thank you, Jack. Thank you for inviting me for dinner tonight. Otherwise, I think I might have spent the entire evening in my office.
Jack: Have a rough day, did you?
Erica: Well, let's just say that I considered renaming Enchantment "DisEnchantment."
Jack: I don't suppose it had anything to do with the multitude of messages I've received regarding a half-naked girl prancing through the mall, assaulting people with Enchantment perfume?
Erica: Assault? Oh, Jack, you heard about this.
Jack: Oh, in glorious detail. I'm not going to end up fending off liability suits here over this thing, am I?

Robert: Here you go, Ms. Smythe.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Robert: My pleasure.
Jake: So is champagne in the budget this month? Thought you were going to live off your salary.
Greenlee: Stop being so negative, Jake. I have a lot to celebrate.
Jake: Hmm.
Greenlee: There's Erica. Hold on a minute. I've got to see if she's heard how I saved her promotional campaign
. Jake: Greenlee. Greenlee.

Greenlee: Hi. Did you get my messages? Isn't it great? I landed the lingerie shop for you -- Isadora's Blush?
Erica: Jack, meet the half-naked spritzer from the mall.

[Greenlee laughs]

Erica: Greenlee, do you know what I object to and regret most about today?
Greenlee: No.
Erica: That I didn't let you go to jail.

Alex: Well, I'm very happy you're here, Gabriel. I hope you believe that. Have you thought about what you'd like to do in Pine Valley?
Gabriel: Do here?
Alex: Yeah, you know, whether you'd like to go to school or, I don't know, get a job. You know what I think? That you could study to be a veterinarian.
Gabriel: Because I like dogs?
Alex: Well, I'm sure you'd like horses, too. They have a certain nobility to them.
Gabriel: Horses don't like me.
Alex: Oh, that's not true. They just earn your trust. But once they do, they're friends for life. Maybe I'll talk to Edmund, see if he can give you a part-time job here looking after the dogs and horses. Would you like that? Give you something to do.
Gabriel: I don't know, Alex.
Alex: What's wrong?
Gabriel: Did you hear that? Somebody's out there.

Leo: Get off him!
Brooke: Stop it!
Adam: Let go of me!
Leo: No! So you can body-slam him? Forget it!
Adam: Get your hands off of me!
Leo: No, not until you calm down!
Brooke: David, are you ok?
David: Yeah, I'm all right, I'm all right.
Brooke: Your hand? Are you --
David: No, my hand's fine. It's ok.
Brooke: Are you out of your mind?
Adam: Are you out of yours letting that man anywhere near your children? Fine. Have your brother hold me while you get -- just go ahead, take -- give me your best shot!
David: Let him go
. Leo: I like Adam's idea better.
David: Leo, let him go!
Leo: Fine, David, go ahead.
David: Go ahead, Adam. Hit me again. I won't stop you. Go ahead!
Brooke: Stop it, I mean it. Stop it, both of you. I want you out of my house.
Adam: He's the one you should be throwing out of here, Brooke.
Brooke: Dr. Hayward is here to help my daughter. That little stunt of yours could've injured his hand and the only person who's a threat right now is you.
Adam: He's not to be trusted. He gives dope to children! Jamie could be next!
David: I never gave drugs to your son, Adam, ever!
Adam: Liar!
David: No, I granted you've been lied to, Adam, but it wasn't from me. So what do you want to do? You want to hit me again or you want to come with me and learn the truth about your son? Guess the only question remaining is, are you man enough to face it?
Adam: I don't believe one word you say.
David: Good. Then you'll have to come and see for yourself. Unless, of course, your son's well-being isn't worth the inconvenience.
Adam: Don't even try that.
David: Well, then what are you waiting for, Adam? Come on, if you're not convinced, you can always resort to your fists again.
Brooke: All right, everybody, stop it. I mean it. David, I need you in one piece, and, Adam, if David has any information about J.R., you should listen.
Leo: All right. I'll go with him, make sure everything stays above the belt.
David: No, Leo, you stay here. Laura needs you.
Brooke, I'm only a phone call away. If Laura's condition changes, you call me.
Brooke: Be careful.
Adam: You should be telling me that.

Laura: What was that all about?
Jamie: Mom, are you ok?
Brooke: Yeah, Honey, m fine.
Jamie: Well, you're smiling like Aunt Phoebe.
Brooke: I am?
Laura: Yeah, her fake smile.
Brooke: Oh, I guess those guys, they just made me a little crazy.
Jamie: Well, sounds to me like they're the crazy ones.
Brooke: Yeah.

Greenlee: Arrested? Who would dare, some competitor?
Erica: Me. I still have half a mind to turn you in myself, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Why? I'm the reason our products are on Isadora's counter at all.
Erica: Here's a news flash for you, Greenlee -- you are certainly not the reason that any of my products are on anyone's counters, and you are not authorized to broker a deal or, as an employee of Enchantment, to strut around the mall like some refugee from the playboy mansion.
Greenlee: Have you had any complaints?
Erica: Have I?
Jack: Shopkeepers and distributors have been calling all day.
Greenlee: Oh, please, everybody wants to sue. Our legal system is clogged with petty lawsuits.
Jack: Well, on behalf of our legal system, I thank you for your outrage, but the fact is you very nearly got yourself into some very hot water today. And I --

Woman: Excuse me, Ms. Kane. I'm Ms. Simmons. I run the boutique here at the Valley Inn.
Erica: Oh. Yes, of course. Hello. I've stopped in many times. You have lovely things.
Ms. Simmons: Thank you. I don't mean to interrupt, but everyone's been talking about Enchantment's controversial promotional campaign. You're not staging it here, are you?
Jack: Ahem.
Erica: Are you referring to our model at the mall?
Ms. Simmons: Then it's true? You had a naked woman spraying perfume?
Erica: Radical, isn't it? But she wasn't entirely naked. No, she was just wearing some of the new line from Isadora's Blush. Are you interested in signing up?
Ms. Simmons: Me? My goodness.
Erica: Well, you really should. I mean, you should see the sales. My products are just jumping right off the shelves. They really are. It's been one of our most successful campaigns to date.
Ms. Simmons: Well, I suppose it's very European, actually. We're so provincial in the states about these things.
Erica: Well, not if my initial sales reports are right.
Ms. Simmons: Then by all means, have a sales rep call me tomorrow.
Erica: Well, I certainly shall. I'll have somebody follow up on that. Thank you, Ms. Simmons.
Ms. Simmons: No, thank you. Oh, and I definitely want to use that model, too.

Jack: Ahem. Somebody care to tell me what just happened?
Erica: Spin control. I have been so involved spin control all day. I have turned complaints from eight boutiques into sales, so this has been major spin control.
Greenlee: Except for the part about our products jumping off the shelves at Isadora's. I know it's true. I checked. So now you have eight more boutiques?
Erica: Thanks to my quick thinking.
Greenlee: Yours?
Jack: Look, those boutiques were about ready to sue us.
Greenlee: But your campaign is a bigger hit than you imagined, Erica. You owe me.
Erica: Excuse me?
Greenlee: Nothing major. I'll settle for twice my salary.

Alex: I didn't hear anything, Gabriel. Gabriel, come back here! Gabriel!

Dimitri: Whoa, whoa. Only me, only me.
Alex: Did you see Gabriel?
Dimitri: Yeah, I saw him.
Alex: Was he after someone? We should call security.
Dimitri: No, no, calm down. The only person I saw was Gabriel. Have you been here with him the whole time?
Alex: Yes, I followed him here.
Dimitri: Well, why didn't you tell me you were leaving the house? Darling, I was real worried about you.
Alex: I'm sorry. You were so hard on him. I felt I needed to find him.
Dimitri: Oh.
Alex: Well, I'm glad I did. We had a good talk. I feel like I understand him a little better. I know you have your doubts about Gabriel, but I don't. From the first g children I felt a bond with him, even before I knew he was my my brother.
Dimitri: You know, I don't want us at odds, Alex. I mean, obviously, you have your intuitions, I have mine, but --
Gabriel: Did you see who it was?
Dimitri: I saw you.
Gabriel: And?
Dimitri: Well, that's it, only you. All right, you know what? I don't want Alex in the middle of you and me.
Alex: Oh --
Dimitri: No, no, no, no. I'm going to be direct with you like I was before. I don't trust you, Gabriel. And this phantom person -- that's just another attempt to deflect our suspicions away from you, isn't it? Isn't it?

Ilene: Yeah, it's me. No, I didn't do it. I almost took out the wrong sister. If Gabriel hadn't called her Alex at the last second, we would've had a real problem. Yeah, well, he's been nothing but a constant problem. I was hoping you would say that. It would make my job a lot easier. All right. I'll be in touch. All right.

Erica: Just check your contract, Greenlee. Your salary's very specifically spelled out.
Greenlee: Yes, but I just thought that since I helped you with this campaign --
Erica: Don't think, Greenlee. It nearly got you in jail. And it nearly cost Enchantment much, much more in legal fees.
Greenlee: How convenient. Enchantment reaps rewards and I get dumped on.
Erica: Enchantment is supposed to reap rewards. It's a business. Next time you have a blockbuster idea, you clear it with me. Understood?
Greenlee: Why should I if this is the thanks I'll get?
Erica: You know, Greenlee, I really do admire people who legitimately think out of the box. I love that. But someone who is a prima donna and thinks that she can just go strutting wild around some mall, waving my Enchantment banner, does not qualify. I told you before, if you don't like it, there's the door.
Greenlee: I understand, Erica. Have a good evening.

Jack: I love it when you say "here's the door." You know, I can't quite figure out if you're trying to destroy this girl or save her from herself.
Erica: Oh, Jack. Let's just talk about something else, ok?
Jack: Deal.

Jake: You look intense. Is everything ok?
Greenlee: I've got her on the run. Erica's so intimidated by my creativity, she's trying to stifle it. I think she'd actually prefer if I left Enchantment.
Jake: Well, did she say that? Greenlee: Oh, more or less. But there's no way I'm quitting now. If she thinks getting that Isadora's account was something, wait until the next project. I'm going to knock Enchantment off its foundation.
Jake: Just -- just take it easy, slugger, all right?
Greenlee: Oh, no way! I am ready to take on the world, and I owe it all to you.

Brooke: Crossing.
Laura: Ah. I thought I smelled popcorn.
Brooke: Mm-hmm.
Jamie: Yep. Mom made lemonade, too. Hey, I learned how to make popcorn balls with Petey. Want me to make some?
Laura: Uh, I think I'd better stick to regular popcorn. There's no butter on this, right?
Brooke: No, it's plain, salt on the side.
Leo: So you and your friend Petey are fans of popcorn balls, huh? I used to love those things.
Jamie: Petey's actually my uncle, even though I'm older than he is.
Laura: Petey's Tad's brother. Opal's Tad's --
Leo: Oh, that's right, that's right. Isn't that funny how the relative thing works?
Jamie: Yeah.
Brooke: You ok?
Jamie: Mm-hmm. Dr. Hayward's your brother, right?
Leo: Yes.
Jamie: That's funny -- he doesn't seem like it. I mean, he's nothing like you. Everybody says he's this big jerk, but then, at the same time, he's this really good doctor. How could he be so mean if he can save Laura?
Laura: Save me?
Brooke: Jamie had some questions, so Dr. Hayward and I told him about your medical condition. Honey, I wanted to run it by you first.
Laura: It's ok, Mom. It's ok, squirt.
Jamie: I'm not a squirt anymore.
Laura: Oh, sorry. You're always going to be squirt to me. Do you have any other questions?
Jamie: No, that's ok.
Laura: Because if I were you, I'd have a lot of questions. You know, it's not every day you meet somebody who needs a heart transplant.
Brooke: Well, Jamie wanted to know if he could be a -- if he could fill out a donor card.
Laura: You did? That's awesome. You are the absolute best brother a person could have. You know that?
Jamie: You're ok, too.
Laura: Thanks. You know, you can always talk to me, anytime. And I promise I'll never be upset or too tired, all right?
Jamie: Well, there is one thing I've been wondering.
Laura: Ok, ask. What is it?
Jamie: Are you scared?

Adam: Well, where's your infallible proof?
David: Patience, patience, patience, Adam.
Adam: You're stalling. You don't have a shred of proof and we both know it.

[Knock on door]

David: Right on cue. Come in, please.
Bellhop: The manager said you wanted to speak to me?
David: Yes, I would love to. Thank you for coming.
Bellhop: Hello, Mr. Chandler.
Adam: What is this?
David: Do you carry a photo of J.R. on you?
Adam: Yes.
David: May I see it?
David: Have you ever seen this kid?
Bellhop: Yeah, that's him.
David: Would you tell Mr. Chandler about your encounter?
Bellhop: He said he was Adam Chandler Jr. He was here with some guys earlier -- friends of his, I think. He had major attitude, but I figured he was, you know, fronting for the fellows.
Adam: He came here to confront you. He's already told me this.
David: Adam, please. Would you tell Mr. Chandler where they were?
Bellhop: Yeah, right outside, in the hall.
David: Ok, now did Adam Chandler Jr. say why he was here?
Bellhop: Just that he was doing something for his father. I let it go, but I kind of sensed something was up.
David: Uh-huh. What happened then?
Bellhop: Well, like I told you before, I came back and I saw the two of you talking. You came in here for a few minutes, then you both came out and the two of you left.
Adam: You were alone in here with my son?
David: So I thought. Why don't you tell him what happened after we left.
Bellhop: A few minutes later, the kid -- your son came back. He knocked on the door and went in, then he and his friends came out together and they all left.
David: Thank you for recounting this once again. I'll contact you if I need anything else.
Bellhop: No problem, Dr. Hayward. I'm working all night.
David: All right, thanks.

[Door closes]

David: When I came back, Adam, and I realized that my medical bag had been tampered with, I questioned the hotel staff. That's when the bellboy told me what he had seen. J.R. and his buddies broke into my room and they stole those meds right out of this bag, Adam. I didn't give them anything.

Leo: Uh -- you know, maybe those popcorn balls aren't such a bad idea after all.
Laura: No, it's ok, Leo.
Jamie: No, never mind. Just forget I asked.
Laura: No, Jamie, Jamie, it's a good question. Am I scared? Yeah. You betcha. But -- but am I going to crumble in a corner? No. No. It's more like the first time that you -- you jump into the deep end of the swimming pool. You know, and you're all nervous and you don't know if maybe you're going to sink. But, um, when you make it back up to the surface and you see that you made it, and you look around at things differently, like the sun is brighter and the grass is greener.
Jamie: And then when you get out, the ground is really hard?
Laura: Yeah. Exactly. Everything is -- is more real than it was before. So it's kind of like that. I open my eyes now and I look around me and I see I have so much to be grateful for. I have the coolest, bravest brother. And the most awesome mother. And friends that I adore, like Leo and Bianca. And doctors who are working like crazy for me. So whatever happens, I'm the luckiest girl I know.
Jamie: I don't want you to die.
Laura: Me, neither. But even if I do, I don't want you to feel sorry for me. I want you to promise me that -- that you'll jump into the deep end, knowing that I loved my wonderful, incredible life.

Gabriel: I don't care what you think.
Dimitri: Yeah, well --
Alex: Gabriel, where are you going?
Gabriel: Going to find the security guard that should've been watching you.
Dimitri: Ooh, good answer. Boy, you're shrewd, I'll give you that.
Alex: Dimitri, stop it!
Dimitri: No, you know what? All of our security personnel have been thoroughly screened, Alex.
Gabriel: Look, you claim you care so much about Alex and Anna, but why won't you listen to what I have to say?
Dimitri: Because it's bogus.
Gabriel: Maybe you're bogus.
Dimitri: Oh, great, now he's trying to put me on the defensive. You know what? I don't have time for this, ok? Shall I walk you back to the main house or would you like to stay here further and converse with your brother?
Gabriel: Go on. I'm going to find that security guard.
Alex: Will you be all right?
Gabriel: I'll be fine. Look, I know you don't like me, but that's because of the way that I look, not who I am.

Alex: Is he right about that?
Dimitri: What? No! I thought you knew me better than that. What are you --
Alex: I thought so, too.
Dimitri: Oh, come on.
Alex: But you've been so resistant, for no apparent reason.
Dimitri: I'm no bigot, Alex, ok? But I am your husband and I love you more than anything.
Alex: I know you do.
Dimitri: And your family -- I mean, your family just -- they bring danger. I mean, first you and I are nearly killed by your so-called mother, and then we find out that Mommy Dearest has put a hit out on your twin sister, and then your brother shows up in town, he doesn't talk for about a month, and -- excuse me if I don't welcome him with open arms, but, you know, I'm not taking any more chances. I'm not. I'm not.
Alex: I'm sorry. Oh, I hate this. Wish it could be over so we could just stop living in fear.
Dimitri: I know, I know, I know. Come on, let's get out of here. Come on.

Adam: Ah. You almost had me, Hayward. How much did you have to pay that boy to recite that concocted story of his?
David: You know, I thought you were going to say that.
Adam, I may not have deep pockets like you do, but I can certainly afford a forensic team to come in here to sweep the place down if need be.
Adam: Oh, but that might involve the police. Are you sure you want to involve them? I can call them right now.
David: No, I would hold off on that call if I were you, Adam. Because I guarantee you, once they sweep this place, your son's fingerprints and all of his friends' are going to be all over this room, even on that medical bag.
Adam: Yeah, well, you know what that proves? That my son and his friends were in this room alone with you and you handed them that bag --
David: Oh, come on, Adam!
Adam: Maybe out of the kindness of your --
David: You're an intelligent man, I am an intelligent man. Think about it! Why would I risk my precarious bail status to do something so colossally stupid? I'm facing to lose my medical license. I still have to stand trial. What possible reason could you think of that I would do something like that? You know what I'm saying is true, Adam. J.R. and his friends came here to do some mischief and I caught them. When J.R. and I spoke and I left, he came back. He and his friends stole that medicine from that medical bag. Face it, Adam -- your boy's got a problem. In fact, I'd say he has a serious problem.

Jake: Well, Greenlee, you don't owe me, all right, and I'm not really big on the PDA's.
Greenlee: If you hadn't given me a kick in the pants, I would've quit, walked off the job on my first day.
Jake: But you didn't. You stuck it out. That's great. And I really can't take credit for your accomplishments.
Greenlee: Of course you can. You made me realize what a loser I'd be if I quit and, after today, I know that I can do it. Maybe I'll dedicate my first book to you.
Jake: There's a thought.
Greenlee: Mm-hmm.
Jake: In the meantime, try not to blow your money salary on the champagne.
Greenlee: Oh, don't worry. I don't plan on spending my hard-earned money on you. I plan on spending your hard-earned money.
Jake: Oh, really?
Greenlee: Yeah. You helped me remake myself. Now it's my chance to help you.
Jake: Well, you already offered and I already declined, remember? I'm fine with my life and the way I dress.
Greenlee: How can you be? I mean, Jake, you're a gorgeous, hunky doctor, and you're hiding your light under a bushel.
Jake: Really? Well, I thank you for leaving my light alone.
Greenlee: Face it, Jake -- you've got no life. You dress like a schlep. I mean, you've got more going for you. Stop hiding under meatloaf and apple pie.
Jake: Are you dissing my family again? You are.
Greenlee: No, I mean no disrespect, but there's got to be more to life than being a dutiful Martin.
Jake: I am very content and happy with the way my life is.
Greenlee: And how pathetic is that? It makes me sad to see you settle for so little.

Jack: So, have you spoken to Brooke lately? Any news?
Erica: No, I mean, nothing's changed. A transplant is still Laura's only hope.
Jack: Ah. My God, it's such a horrible situation.
Erica: Yeah, the whole thing just breaks my heart.

Roger: Hello, Erica.
Erica: Roger, hello. You remember Jackson Montgomery.
Jack: Hi, Roger, nice to see you.
Roger: Jack, nice to see you again. I'm sorry to interrupt, but I just had to come over and say thank you for taking Greenlee under your wing.
Erica: She's quite a wingful.
Roger: You may recall that I said that I hoped that she'd have somebody like you to mentor her along?
Erica: Oh, Roger, please. No, no, no, I'm not mentoring her. No, I just -- just keeping an eye on her.
Roger: Good. Because if anybody can make a difference in Greenlee's life, it's certainly you. Enjoy your evening.
Erica: Thank you.
Jack: You, too.
Roger: See you.

Jack: "Keeping an eye on her." That was a good one.

Jake: All right, get this -- I like my life, my hair is doable --
Greenlee: Oh, "doable."
Jake: And my pants are fine.

Roger: Greetings.
Jake: What? Hello.
Greenlee: Daddy. What do you want?
Roger: Well, I just heard that my daughter was working closely with Erica Kane, so I thought I'd come over and offer my congratulations.
Greenlee: That's all?
Roger: What's wrong? Can't a father express his pride?
Greenlee: As long as you're not going to hit me up for a loan now that I've got a job.
Roger: I guess I deserve that.
Jake: Listen, I'll give you two a moment here.
Greenlee: Don't go, Jake.
Jake: No, it's fine. I'm on call and I'll be right back, ok? Just going to check in at the ER. Excuse me.
Roger: Sure.
Jake: Thank you.

Roger: Well, a dedicated doctor. That's a step up.
Greenlee: Get to the point, Daddy. What do you really want?
Roger: My, you have a suspicious mind, don't you? But you're not too far off. I came over here to talk to you about your trust fund.
Greenlee: I knew it.
Roger: I plan to return every cent that I borrowed from it.
Greenlee: What happened? Did you win big at the track?
Roger: You're not the only one who's gainfully employed. I have a job, too, Greenlee, right here in Pine Valley.

Laura: Who was that?
Brooke: Liza. She was looking for Adam.
Maybe I should give Tad and Dixie a call.
Jamie: Something going on with J.R.?
Brooke: It seems so.
Jamie: Is he in trouble?
Brooke: Honey, I don't know. I'm going to try and get hold of Tad, though. Why don't we give Laura and Leo a little time to themselves, ok? Isn't it past your bedtime, hmm?
Jamie: No, it's summer. You said I could stay up later.
Brooke: I did? All right, one more hour and then you hit the sheets. Is that a deal?
Jamie: Deal.
Brooke: Ok.
Jamie: Good night, Laura. Night, Leo.
Laura: Night, squirt.
Leo: You're just lucky she doesn't call you Pookie. Little Pookie-Wookie.
Brooke: Ok. Come on.

Laura: What's the matter? You're so quiet.
Leo: I just -- you know, I don't know what to say after listening to what you said to Jamie. Everything that comes out of my mouth is meaningless.
Laura: Not everything. You told me you loved me. What I said to Jamie, that was -- that was easy. One good thing about feeling like you're running out of time is that you get to what matters pretty quickly. I just looked in Jamie's eyes, I knew what to say.
Leo: Wish I could see what I had to say right now. All I can think about is how much I don't deserve you.
Laura: I'll be the judge of that.

Adam: I'll deal with my son.
David: Sounds like a good plan. We're not finished here, though.
Adam: If this is true, you won't get any more accusations from me.
David: You can do a hell of a lot better than that.
Adam: Are you planning on blackmailing my son?
David: Well, let's see -- J.R. broke into my room, he stole and distributed a controlled substance, resulting in the near death of a friend. Isn't he on some kind of probation with the courts, as well?
Adam: Don't mess with my boy, Hayward.
David: All right, let's put your boy aside for a minute. What about you, Adam? You attacked me at Brooke's house in front of witnesses. I could have you arrested for assault.
Adam: But you won't.
David: Well, I won't if you give me what I want.
Adam: Well, let's see -- you're an indicted felon out on bail. Frankly, I don't feel inclined to give you a damn thing.
David: Mm-hmm. Let's look at this a different way, shall we? Do you honestly believe that J.R.'s going to be able to get into an ivy league school with a juvie record on his transcript? I mean, that is of course if you're able to keep him out of jail in the first place, Adam. You realize they are convicting a lot younger these days.
Adam: Oh. You are the scum of the earth.
David: No, I would say we both come from the same mold, Adam. You see, even though I'm an indicted felon, at this very moment, I hold your son's future in the palm of my hand. So if I were you, Adam, I'd show me a little more respect.

Erica: Good night, Roger.
Roger: Good night.
Erica: So nice to see you again.
Roger: You, too, Erica.
Erica: Oh, Greenlee, I expect you bright and early in the morning. Don't stay out too late. I need you to be alert.
Greenlee: You can count on me, Erica. Good night.
Erica: Night.

Roger: Well, I'm impressed. You and Erica seem to have a very tight working relationship.
Greenlee: Yes, like a noose. But we were talking about your new job, which is?
Roger: I am working for a Dutch import-export company
Greenlee: Hmm. Tulips and chocolate. Delightful.
Roger: We do deal in a few more things than that. You know, ceramics, artwork. Mostly high-end merchandise.
Greenlee: Hmm. Must be if you're going reimburse me for the money you siphoned off me.
Roger: Every gilder. So what do you say? Friends again?
Greenlee: You think that's all there is to it? Wave the promise of cash in my face and all is forgotten?
Roger: It's a start.
Greenlee: It's an insult. After everything you've done to me. Money doesn't even begin to make up for it, especially when that money's mine.
Roger: Well, then what can I do --
Greenlee: I don't trust you, Daddy. And until I do, I'm not letting you close enough to hurt me again.
Roger: If you don't trust me, how can I get close to you?
Greenlee: I don't know. You'll have to figure that out.
Roger: Guess I will. Good night, Darling.

Jake: Hey.
Greenlee: So, how was everything at the hospital?
Jake: So far so good. So what was that all about?
Greenlee: Oh, no, you don't. Stop trying to change the subject.
Jake: What subject? I just got back to the table.
Greenlee: We were talking about your make-over.
Jake: No, no, correction, correction -- you were talking about it. It was a non-issue with me.
Greenlee: Well, I'm not giving up, so you'd better get used to the idea.
Jake: Listen, I want you just to take this and apply this towards the bottle of champagne that you treated me to.
Greenlee: You're not going to leave me alone to drink by myself, Jake.
Jake: Do me a favor -- don't go showing up to the ER. half naked, spritzing everyone with disinfectant, ok?
Greenlee: Oh, my God, Jake. That was almost funny. I must be getting to you already.

Laura: I'm warm, Leo.
Leo: Yeah, well, sometimes it gets cold in the middle of the night, so tough.
Laura: It won't be if you stay with me. Come on, there's room for two under here.
Leo: What about your mom?
Laura: I don't think she'll care.
Leo: Uh -- Laura, what about your -- what about your heart?
Laura: All I want is for you to hold me, Leo, so that when I wake up tomorrow, your face is the first thing I see.
Leo: All right. All right, scoot over.

Gabriel: Where have you been? Why weren't you guarding Alex? Turn around!
Ilene: Very well.
Gabriel: Put that away. I'm allowed to be here.
Ilene: Uh-uh-uh. Stay right where you are.
Gabriel: I know you.
Ilene: Yeah, I thought you might.

[Gunshot]

David: You're one of the wealthiest and most influential men in the world, Adam. You've been able to stay out of jail when most people would've gone to jail for life. And yet here you are.
Adam: You're not writing the forward to my biography. Get to the point.
David: Oh, I think the point is very clear. I want you to use your clout to have my charges dropped.
Adam: You overestimate my power.
David: Oh, I don't think so. I'm sure you still have a judge two in your pocket somewhere.
Adam: Well, if I did, I wouldn't waste him on you.
David: Oh, no, now, you see, you're thinking of this the wrong way again, Adam. This isn't just about me now. I guarantee you that if I go down, J.R. is going down with me. You see how simple it is, Adam? You keep me out of jail and your son stays out, as well.
Adam: You haven't won, Hayward.
David: I'm not looking for a cigar, Adam. I'm just trying to stay out of jail. Take a night. Think about it. I'll contact you in the morning.

David: Thank you, J.R. I owe you one.

ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Leo: Hey, what's the matter?

Rosa: Can we talk, away from Mommy?

Dixie: Did you take drugs last night?
Adam: Absolutely not. J.R. doesn't use drugs.
