ALL MY CHILDREN

MARCH 20, 2000

[Greenlee dreams]

Ryan: I don't know why I didn't see it before tonight. I really don't, Greenlee. But you are the only one -- the only one I've ever wanted. And I don't want to spend another night without you holding me.
Greenlee: Ryan.
Ryan: Let me kiss you.

[Greenlee moans]

Greenlee: Ryan.

Ryan: Greenlee.
Greenlee. Hello. That was some dream you were having.
Greenlee: Uh-huh.
Ryan: You going to be ok?

Alex: Would you like a cup of tea, Gillian? Suppose food's out of the question, isn't it?
Gillian: Until I hear from Jake -- I'm sorry, I just -- I -- don't worry about me.
Edmund: Oh, yeah, sure. That a tall order.
Gillian: I hurt Jake so bad. I can't even bear to think about it.
Edmund: Sweetheart, it wasn't you.
Gillian: I don't think so.

[Telephone rings]

Gillian: Please let it be Jake. Hello?
Dixie: Hi, Gillian? It's Dixie.
Gillian: Hey, Dixie. Hey, how's Tad? Dixie: "How's Tad?" I don't know. You got six hours?
Gillian: He's still locked up?
Dixie: Yeah. Listen, that's not why I'm calling. Are you busy this morning?
Gillian: Why?
Dixie: Well, I was -- I'm at the Valley Inn. I was wondering if you'd like to have breakfast.
Gillian: You spoke to Jake?
Dixie: Yeah. That's why I'm calling.
Gillian: He's ok, isn't he?
Dixie: Yeah, yeah, he's -- he's fine. Can we talk in person, though?
Gillian: I'll be there as fast as I can.

Gillian: It's Dixie. She spoke to Jake. Maybe he's ready to work this through.
Edmund: Is that what Dixie said?
Gillian: What else would she want to see me about, Edmund?
Alex: Don't get your hopes up. It's still so early. I couldn't bear to see you hurt again.
Gillian: I have to go.

Edmund: It's too bad Adam's in prison.
Alex: Why? Edmund: Makes it harder for me to strangle him before lunch.
Alex: Think you'd probably have to take a number.

Man: You can always hear me singing this song show me the way to go home

Adam: Martin, how could you sleep through that? That insufferable din. This whole situation's --

Man: Tired and I want to go to bed
Adam: Shut up, you no-good drunk!
Man: Had a little drink about an hour ago
Adam: You got to stop that -- that -- that -- stop it.

Guard: Stop what?
Adam: That.

Man: No matter guard: Please.
Man: Where I roam

Adam: You expect me to eat that?
Guard: I could care less what you do with it.

Man: You could always hear me

Guard: Ah, later.

Man: Singing this song

[door closes]

Adam: Oh, please, God. Please let that be the end of it.
Adam: Ooh.

[Tad snores]

Adam: Oh. No, no. No. No. Shut up. Shut up! Shut up!

[Adam throws his tray of food on the ground]

[Tad groans]

Adam: Oh, did I wake you up?
Tad: You got a problem?
Adam: Yeah, you.
Tad: Me?
Adam: Yeah.
Tad: I was asleep, and I'm your problem?
Adam: Yeah, well, you -- you rattle when you sleep. You sound like a spoon in a blender.
Tad: Ah, jinkies, Adam. I'll keep that in mind. You always play with your food before you eat it?
Guard: What the -- ok, that had better have been an accident.
Tad: Ah, it wasn't, officer. I saw the whole thing.
Adam: Shut up!
Guard: I don't care. Just clean it up.
Tad: Look at that. Danced all over it.
Guard: Rats can smell food from 50 yards.
Adam: You can't keep me in here indefinitely.
Tad: Entire family --
Adam: I demand to see Inspector Frye now.
Guard: Hey, the court docket is backed up because we have more important things than you.
Adam: I don't care! Just get him, you moron!
Guard: What --

Tad: Whoo -- way to go, pinhead. I'm sure he's just scratching to help you out now. Why the hell you in such a big hurry to get arraigned, anyway? You actually think a judge is going to set bail for you?
Adam: Yeah, I'm not the one being denied bail in this hellhole.
Tad: Oh, I don't know about that, pal. Hey, listen, I wasn't the one who forged all those official-looking clinical-type documents, remember?
Adam: Well, I didn't forge $75 million worth of checks.
Tad: Well, I didn't, either. Hey, I never signed a damn thing. And I certainly wasn't playing the old switcheroo with my precious bodily fluids, either.
Adam: Well, I didn't coerce somebody else to steal a lot of money.
Tad: Well, I didn't, either. See, I had no idea that Stuart was you when he gave away all that money. And there's no way you can prove I did.
Adam: You think my brother is going to testify against me to protect you? You dream on! And as far as Liza carrying my child, there's not you -- not you, nobody else, nobody in the world can prove that Liza and I didn't make that baby the old-fashioned way.
Tad: Well, don't look now, but Liza can. Or maybe we should call Ripley's, huh? Huh?

Tad: Derek! Baby, what's up? The man with the keys. Are you buying breakfast, or am I, huh? Huh?
Derek: Don't start with me today, Tad. I'm not in the mood.
You rang again, Sire?
Adam: I want my arraignment now, Derek.
Derek: [Jamaican accent] and I want to be floating in a pool chair with a pineapple drink in Jamaica.
Adam: You can't hold me here against my will.
Derek: [Normal voice] already am, Adam. Oh, by the way, you have a visitor. You might want to clean that mess up.

Adam: Oh, there is a God. Liza, Liza -- sweetheart, you don't know how much your being here means to me.
Liza: And why should it mean anything to you?
Adam: What?
Liza: Well, you don't honestly think that I came here to visit you, do you, Adam?
How are you?
Tad: Oh, well, I'm -- I'm much better now.

Greenlee: Thanks.
Ryan: You're welcome. So, I was thinking about making a big breakfast. Anything you feel like?
Greenlee: Whatever you feel like, Ryan. Thanks. Is it ok if I take a shower?
Ryan: Yeah, it's fine. It's fine. I left some towels out for you.
Greenlee: Thanks. I really appreciate you letting me stay here last night. I know it's complicated.
Ryan: We're friends.
Greenlee: And friends don't let friends drive when they've been drinking.
Ryan: Exactly. Well, I'll see what I can whip up for us.
Greenlee: Great.

[Telephone rings]

Edmund: Hello.
Ryan: Edmund, hey, it's Ryan.
Edmund: Yeah, Ryan. Gillian just left.
Ryan: No, that's good. That's actually -- it's better. You know, I don't want to get in her face or anything. I just -- I was calling to see how she's doing, you know, see how her and Jake are doing, if they worked things out.
Edmund: Jake said that he needed some time. Nothing's settled.
Ryan: Oh. Well, thank you for telling me. And, you know, if she needs anything, I'm here.
Edmund: Thanks, Ryan.

[Edmund hangs up telephone]

Edmund: That was Ryan asking after Gillian.
Alex: I wonder what Dixie wanted to see her about.
Edmund: So do I.

Dixie: Hi. Thanks so much for meeting me.
Gillian: Please tell me Jake's better.
Dixie: Jake is really struggling.
Gillian: I know, I know. I wanted to get up a thousand times last night and just hold him, but I know he needs some time. And if he needs more time --
Dixie: Yeah, he really does.
Gillian, Jake left town last night.
Gillian: What?
Dixie: He went away. He went to California. He called me and asked me to give you the news.
Gillian: Joe was able to clear his schedule that fast? It's only going to be for a day or two, right?
Dixie: Well, I don't know. Actually, I think Jake took an extended leave.
Gillian: No, I don't -- I don't understand.
Dixie: He just needs some time, you know? He's going to stay with some friends out west from med school.
Gillian: How long is he going to stay there for?
Dixie: I don't think even Jake knows the answer to that question right now.
Gillian: No. No, Dixie -- no, this is impossible. Jake is really -- they really need him in the ER and -- how is Joe going to --
Dixie: Honey --
Gillian: Do things without him?
Dixie: I'm sorry. Joe gave him an open-ended leave.
Gillian: Oh, my God.
Dixie: I'm sorry. Nobody knows when Jake is going to come back home
Dixie: Look, I know this must feel like an enormous abandonment, but try and think of it like something else. When tad and I were art, I went home to Pigeon Hollow. And the distance that I put between me and tad was exactly what we needed. Just being away from him, from our problems, from everything that was familiar -- it helped me find how empty I felt inside without him. So maybe this is going to be the best thing for you and Jake. And believe me, I know how hard that is to accept.
Gillian: Thank you for telling me these things about Jake. But it's just -- I thought I'd maybe see him at the hospital or bump to him at the mall.
Dixie: Oh, honey, he's just not ready. He's just not ready. But he loves you. He loves you so much. That's not in question here.
Gillian: No. The question is can he ever forgive me?

Edmund: Countess Korsakov.
Countess: Please call me Irina. I'm only a countess in my own mind these days.
Alex: It's a pleasure to meet you.
Edmund: Please sit down.
Eugenia: Yes, please. Over here, my dear. Irina and I were friends as children, you know.
Edmund: Oh, really? What was that, one, two years ago?
Eugenia: Oh, Edmund.
Irina: Edmund's just as charming as you said, Eugenia.
Edmund: Countess, do you still live in Russia?
Irina: No. I've lived in Paris for ages it seems. Soon after my father died, the land that had been in our family's care for centuries -- it's a shame what has happened to most of my country. But I am Russian inside forever, always.
[Edmund speaking in Russian]
Alex: Wow.
[Edmund speaking in Russian]
Edmund: Spasibo. But that's it. That's all that I know. Well, there is one more thing.
[Edmund speaking in Russian] which is "Where is the bathroom?"
Alex: Oh, well, at least you have your priorities straight.
Edmund: Very important.
Alex: Countess, you speak English beautifully.
Irina: I never get a chance to speak it anymore. Thank you for your compliment. I was hoping that I would practice on Eugenia a bit more.
Eugenia: Oh, I have been a dreadful hostess. Forgive my inattentiveness.
Irina: Oh, no, Eugenia, not at all.
Eugenia: Ah, last evening I spent most of the time talking with our Gillian.
Irina: She's a lovely girl.
Eugenia: Yes, but I'm going to take you out to lunch --
Irina: You never know what it is that I really would like to do.
Eugenia: Ah, what's that?
Irina: To see the stables.
Edmund: Oh, do you ride, countess?
Irina: As often as I can.
Edmund: Well, then you're just going to have to be on one of our mounts. Excuse me. We have a new trainer. His name is Guy. I'm going to call him and tell him to expect you.
Irina: Thank you very much, Edmund.
Edmund: Oh, it's my pleasure.
Eugenia: I hope you don't mind if I watch you from a distance.
Irina: Not at all, Eugenia.
Edmund: Yeah, hello, Guy. Yeah, a guest of ours is going to be over shortly. Yeah, she's an experienced rider. Put her on Taffy or Califa. Thanks. Ok.

Edmund: Speaking of Guy, how's he working out with Scorpio's training?
Alex: Yeah, he's lovely. He has a very easy way with the horses.
Edmund: He was quite a find.
Alex: Yeah.
Edmund: I'm glad he's working out with you, too.
Alex: Hmm. I think, actually, I'm going to groom Scorpio before the vet gets here. Do you think Sam and Maddie would like to see that? I mean, I want them to get used to the new horse. Should I get them?
Edmund: That's a great idea. I'll get them.
Alex: Ok.

[Alex remembers]

[Guy whistles "Waltzing Matilda"]
Alex: What's that song?

Edmund: Alex? Where'd you go just now?
Alex: Nowhere. Why?
Edmund: You seemed like you were a million miles away.
Alex: No, I wasn't. I was right here.
Edmund: Alex, are you ok?
Alex: I'm fine.

Greenlee: What happened?
Ryan: What?
Greenlee: I borrowed your sweater. Is that ok?
Ryan: Yeah, it's fine, it's fine.
Greenlee: Ryan, your whole vibe has changed.
Ryan: Oh. Yeah, I guess I overestimated my ability to make breakfast.
Greenlee: No problem.
Ryan: Sorry.
Greenlee: Look at you. You're all depressed. This is not about breakfast.
Ryan: No, I just -- I just called Wildwind to see how Gillian was doing.
Greenlee: And the answer is?
Ryan: Edmund said she's doing fine.
Greenlee: So you didn't speak to her?
Ryan: No, no.
Greenlee: Gillian and Jake aren't breaking up? I mean, they've only been married for, like, a minute and a half.
Ryan: Oh, no, no. I don't think that's going to happen.
Greenlee: Oh, good, because, you know, they seemed very happy.
Ryan: Yeah, she just -- she was so torn up about hurting Jake, you know? She doesn't -- he doesn't see that she did it for him.
Greenlee: They'll work things out, then?
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. I just hate to see her in this kind of pain. You know, she -- she deserves to be happy, if anybody does. She deserves to be appreciated for what she's done, you know? Oh -- anyway, I got to get to work, all right? You won't mind helping yourself to some cereal?
Greenlee: I think I can manage.
Ryan: All right. I'm just going to grab some papers, and then I'm out of here.
Greenlee: Do you mind if I make a phone call before I go?
Ryan: No, go ahead.
Greenlee: Oh, oh, oh -- and do you want to keep brainstorming new ideas? Say lunch at the Valley Inn today? Or do you want to hold off on your web site?
Ryan: No, no, I think it would help to keep that conversation going. Thank you. And thanks for letting me talk to you about Gillian. Means a lot.

Greenlee: Hi, hi, Grand-Pere. Hey. How soon can I meet you today? Great, great. How about the Valley Inn in 20 minutes? Ok. Oh, oh, and, grandfather, don't bring grandmother. Thanks.

Liza: I hate that you had to spend the night here and it's all Adam's fault -- his feeble attempt at revenge -- and I hate that you were put in the middle. I really do.
Tad: That's ok. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices.
Liza: No more sacrifices. I'm here to post your bail.
Tad: Well, that's very sweet of you, but it turns out that my bail hasn't been set yet. And even when it is, I'm sure Dixie will be here to take care of it. But that's very sweet. Thank you. It's very neighborly of you.
Liza: Have you seen or spoken to Jake this morning?
Tad: No.
Liza: I tried to reach him, and I couldn't. Colby said "Dada" about a thousand times, and I wanted him to hear it.
Tad: Liza, look, do me a favor, ok? Don't call Jake with any more Colby updates, ok? He chose to walk away from this for her sake. Don't make it harder for him than it already is.
Liza: But -- but he can't --
Tad: He's gone. He left town yesterday. Went out to California because he wanted to get away from everything, from everybody, including his family. So don't look for him and don't tell him anything about Colby unless he finds you and asks first, ok?
Liza: Ok.
Tad: Thank you.
Liza: Good luck getting out of here.
Tad: I won't need it. I'm walking today -- unlike some people we all know and despise.
Liza: Well, let me know there's anything I can do.

Adam: Liza, Liza, Liza -- your point is well-made. It's taken. I get it. And I feel punished and chastised. So please help me get the hell out of here.
Liza: You're really not my problem, Adam.
Adam: I spent the whole night in this hole. Isn't that enough?
Liza: Oh, that's supposed to make us even? Is that right? After what you did to me.
Adam: Liza, in the name of heaven. Look at me. This is wrong. I don't belong in here. I need you.
Liza: For what?
Adam: To help me get out.
Liza: Oh. Oh, you need me to post bail for you.
Adam: Yes. Yes, our checks our still jointly held. Am I right? Liza: Yes, they are. That's right. You're right.
Adam: Now, just come with me to the arraignment. That's all. Post my bail bond. Then we can go home, pour a couple of glasses of brandy, and we can work this thing out.
Liza: You know, Adam, I don't know if I can do that.
Adam: Liza, please.
Liza: I'd have to check.
Adam: Check what?
Liza: To see if hell froze over while I was sleeping last night.
Liza: Do you have any idea what you've done to me?
Adam: Liza, please --
Liza: Has it even crossed your mind to accept responsibility for it?
Adam: Liza, I thought we'd been over this.
Liza: "Over this"? You violated me, Adam. There is no way back. Not now, not ever. The only thing that's going to give me the slightest feeling of vindication is making sure you're safely locked in a maximum-security prison for what's left of your selfish and miserable life. Any questions? No?

Tad: Bye-bye. Bye, now. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
Adam: This is your fault -- all of it.
Tad: How do you figure?
Adam: You and that despicable, meddling family of yours -- every last one of them.
Tad: Just out of curiosity, you do realize --

Derek: You know what? Some people might actually think that the consistency you two show each other is admirable.
Adam: Derek, get me out of this hole now!
Derek: Well, you know what, Adam? That's why I'm here. But first we're going to have some rules before we make our way over to the courtroom.
Adam: Great. Just get me out of here.
Derek: Shh! Number one, I don't want to listen to either one of you tit for tat each other about which one of you has the more rotten family. You got me? All right, let's go.
Derek: Rule number two --

Gillian: Thank you for telling me not to give up hope.
Dixie: Good. Listen, I really care about you and Jake. You're family. And I just -- I hate how Colby is stuck in the middle of all of this and how helpless we all feel.
Gillian: I don't feel so alone now.
Dixie: Well, good, because you're not.
Gillian: Good luck at court today with Tad.
Dixie: Thanks. I just hope he doesn't turn into a belligerent teenager right before my eyes. He has a habit of doing that. Every time he gets around Adam, he regresses. Listen, you keep the faith about Jake, ok?
Gillian: Ok.
Dixie: I'll see you soon.
Gillian: Bye.

Greenlee: I just wanted to say I am so sorry to hear about you and Jake.
Gillian: How --
Greenlee: I mean, you guys are just so perfect for each other. You're going to work this out, aren't out?
Gillian: Well, I'm hopeful that in time --
Greenlee: What? What's the matter? Why are you staring?
Gillian: It's just the -- the sweater. I didn't notice it until now. It just looks really familiar.
Greenlee: Oh, yeah.
Gillian: Is that --
Greenlee: Yeah. Good eye. It's Ryan's. I was running a little low on clothes this morning, and so he loaned it to me. I should be more careful, I guess.
Gillian: I thought you said he broke your heart.
Greenlee: He did, he did. But I'm -- I'm, like, no match for him, Gillian. I totally gave in again last night. I thought I was stronger. You know, I wish I could be more like you and kick him out when he comes knocking on my door in the middle of the night. But there he was, and, well, I said yes. But I guess there are worse ways I could've spent the evening, you know?

[Gillian runs out of the Valley Inn]

Greenlee: One down, one to go.

Guy: I don't really whistle on key.
Alex: No, I know the song, but I haven't heard it in a long time.
Guy: Australian.
Edmund: It's "Waltzing Matilda."
Guy: Right. Right. If the high notes bother you, I could --
Alex: No. No, not at all.

Edmund: I could call Guy, saddle up another horse for you.
Alex: No.
Edmund: I just thought you may want to join Irina.
Alex: No, I don't feel like riding today.

Eugenia: Edmund, Alex!
Alex: What --
Edmund: What is it?
Eugenia: It's Irina.
Alex: Is she all right? What happened?
Guy: Well, the countess was making her way around the ring on Taffy, felt light-headed.
Irina: I'm so sorry to worry you all.
Alex: No.
[Irina coughs]

Alex: You all right?
Guy: Huh?
Irina: I think -- I think I will be all right now.
Guy: Yeah? All right. If you're sure. Ok.
Irina: I --
Guy: Steady.
Alex: Oh, my goodness. Ok, ok, ok.
Eugenia: Irina, what is happening?
Alex: Call an ambulance, will you, Guy? Irina, Irina, I'm a doctor. Please, tell me what you're feeling so I can help you.
Irina: [Speaking in Russian]
Alex: What is she saying?
Eugenia: I don't know. I've forgotten all my Russian. What is she saying?
Edmund: I don't know. "I wear -- wear something" --
Alex: Her pulse is racing. Your pulse is racing --
Irina: [Speaking in Russian]
Edmund: Countess, Countess, listen to me. We can't understand you. We want to help you. Please, can you speak English?
Irina: [Speaking in Russian]
Eugenia: What can we do, Edmund?
Alex: Her purse. Get her purse. Her purse. Find her purse.
Edmund: What do you think, it's some medication?
Alex: [Speaking in Russian]
Eugenia: Alex -- Alex, here it is.
Alex: Spasibo. [Speaking in Russian]
Eugenia: What is the pill?
Eugenia: What is the pill?
Alex: Digitalis. She has a heart condition. She'll be feeling better in a minute.
Irina: Spasibo. [Speaking in Russian]
Alex: Did you call an ambulance?
Guy: Yeah, yeah. It's coming.
Alex: [Speaking in Russian]

Greenlee: Grandfather, you look so smart in that jacket.
Woodruff: All right, all right, Greenlee. What's this about?
Greenlee: Ok, the direct approach. I have a new business that I want you to invest in, Grandfather. A high-tech, very right-now dot-com company that has huge potential. I mean, we're talking beaucoup, you understand.
Woodruff: Mm-hmm. First question --
Greenlee: Shoot. Woodruff: Whose pants are involved in this little transaction? Oh, come on, Greenlee. Don't kid a kidder.
Greenlee: You know me so well.
Woodruff: I like to think so.
Greenlee: Well, you're right. There is a pair of very smart and capable pants behind this brilliant idea.
Woodruff: Second question --
Greenlee: Uh-huh.
Woodruff: Since you so pointedly asked me not to bring your grandmother to this little luncheon, is it possible that this pair of pants belongs to that young man she so dislikes -- the one with the, shall we say, shady past?
Greenlee: Well, yes.
Woodruff: Let's eat.
Greenlee: Grandfather, listen to me. Ryan Lavery is smart, talented, and he's haunted by some bad breaks. But from what my mother told me, this should have a very familiar ring to you.
Woodruff: I am not having this discussion with you.
Greenlee: I know about the speakeasy in Harlem. What are you laughing about?
Woodruff: My dear, my dear, that was 10 lifetimes ago at least.
Greenlee: Well, all I'm asking you is to remember what was like to need a really big break, that break that would take you over the top and into the future.
Woodruff: You are incredible.
Greenlee: Well, so is Ryan and his idea. And I know you're too shrewd to walk away from a golden opportunity when it's right there at your feet. Come on, Woody. Work with me.

Adam: About time.
Barry: Adam, don't start with me. I had no control over this, and you know it.

Dixie: Honey. Honey.
Tad: Hi, sweetheart.

Adam: Look at them, swarming.

Bailiff: Order, please.

Adam: What's Keith McLean doing here? I thought you said Liza was the only one that could bring charges against me.
Barry: Adam, you've had a number of crimes charged against you. The D.A. Obviously intends to go all the way with this. Could be high-profile.
Adam: Great, we're going public.
Keith: I'm going to ask for no bail, Chandler, and a long, long jail term.
Adam: Well, then, don't bother running for re-election.
You can get me out of here, can't you?
Barry: As long as the judge grants bail, yes.

Tad: Listen, Pop, no matter what bail the judge asks for, all we have to do is come up with 10%, right?
Joe: I'll take care of it.
Leslie: Just answer what's asked of you, Tad. Don't editorialize.
Tad: Who, me?

Bailiff: All rise. The honorable Judge Cohen presiding.
Judge: Be seated. Bailiff, what's the first case?
Bailiff: Case number 456TG78, your honor -- the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania vs. Adam Chandler. The defendant is charged with forgery in the third degree, theft, tampering with medical records, misbranding, deceptive business practices, and misapplication of entrusted property.
Judge: I see you're represented by counsel, Mr. Chandler. How do you plead?
Adam: Innocent of all charges, your honor.
Judge: Very well. Your trial date is set for April 3, 2000. Your bail is set at $1 million. As a condition of bail, I order that you do not leave this commonwealth without the court's permission.
Barry: Thank you, your honor.
Keith: Your honor, may I address the bench?

Tad: Wait a minute, wait a minute. That can't be it. That's ridiculous.
Derek: Tad --
Tad: You can't let him walk out of here like that.
Joe: Tad!
Tad: I object!

Alex: Oh, yes, she's going to be fine. I'll check her on my rounds. Don't worry.
Eugenia: Oh, thank you, darling. Oh, you've been wonderful, wonderful, all the time.

Alex: That was close.
Edmund: Yeah. Alex, why didn't you tell me you spoke perfect Russian?
Alex: I don't speak Russian.
Edmund: Yes, you do. You just spoke to Irina like you were born and raised in Moscow.
Alex: No, I don't.
Edmund: Ok. But -- I don't know -- call me crazy, but you were just speaking to her when she was hyperventilating. And when she was speaking in Russian, you understood her and you asked for her purse and gave her the pills and calmed her down in perfect fluent Russian.
Alex: I couldn't have.
Edmund: You don't remember.
Alex: No, I don't.

Woodruff: Well, you must have quite a lot of faith in your power of persuasion, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Why do you say that?
Woodruff: Well, if Ryan Lavery is nearly as charismatic as you say, why didn't you bring him along for your little presentation?
Greenlee: Grandfather, if Ryan knew that the startup money came from my family, he would never accept it. He's too proud. But I believe in him and his idea, and I would never ask r your help if I didn't believe in you, too.
Woodruff: I sympathize with your young man, Greenlee. Really, I do. If you have nearly the effect on him that you have on me --
Greenlee: Is that a yes?
Woodruff: Call me later. We'll talk numbers.
Greenlee: Oh, Grandpa! Oh.
Woodruff: You are a very determined woman, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Oh, well, it's in my genes. Love you.

Ryan: Hey.
Greenlee: Hi!
Ryan: I hope your grandfather didn't leave on account of me.
Greenlee: Oh, no, no, no. He had to go anyway. So, how you feeling? You ready to talk?
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, I am. I just hope I have some good luck for once.
Greenlee: Oh, I think you do. I can feel it.

Tad: No, no, I object!
Joe: Quiet down, Tad.
Tad: I object!
Judge: You can't object.
Tad: Well, somebody's got to. Listen, your honor, I know this man. He's a flight risk.

Joe and Dixie: Tad --

Derek: Sit down.

Judge: The bench recognizes Mr. McLean.
Keith: Your honor, due to the nature of these unusual charges, the interests of the people of this commonwealth must be considered. Our office requests that bail be denied.

Adam: Do something.
Barry: Your honor, this is an outrage.

Derek: Tad --
Tad: He probably has his plane all gassed up at the airport ready to go.
Judge: Order.
Tad: All you got to do is make one phone call --
Adam: This --
Tad: $100,000 is nothing --
Judge: That's enough! Order! Order!
Adam: You ought to know because you already stole a good portion of my fortune. I could kill you with my bare hands.
Joe: Tad! Tad!
Judge: Order! Order! Order in this court!
Order! I want order in this court!
