ALL MY CHILDREN

MARCH 24, 2000

Derek: Sign it, Janet.
Janet: Stop doing this to me. I told you, the only way I can talk to you is through my attorney.
Derek: How long are you and Jackson willing to let this go on? Trevor has been on the run, paying for something he didn't do. He didn't kill Sophie Malinowski. Sign the confession. Don't make him pay anymore.
Janet: Why now?
Derek: Because he is my friend. Because it's time for this to end.
Janet: I never asked Trevor to do this, any of it.
Derek: You have the power to bring him home. Tell the truth. Everything can be worked out in a normal, rational way. Janet, think -- think how much he must miss you, how much he must miss Amanda.
Janet: It's all I ever think about.
Derek: Every moment he's out there, he's in danger. Trevor is a wanted man. If he gets caught outside of my jurisdiction --
Janet: What?
Derek: If some overzealous cop decides he wants to be a hero -- shoot first, ask questions later -- then --
Janet: No. All right. All right, I'll sign it.
Arlene: No. No, don't sign anything! What are you thinking? Don't sign anything!

Gillian: I'm going to miss you terribly, but I really need to be with Grandmama right now. I just want to lie with my head in her lap and have her stroke my hair for, well, maybe for the rest of my life.
Myrtle: Darling, Jake is not away forever, you know.
Gillian: Why not? What if he can't get over losing Colby? He could very well decide to just stay on in California.
Myrtle: Darling, he's going to realize that none of this is your doing. He'll be coming back.
Gillian: He looked so lonely sitting in that empty house. I wish I could have said something to make him want to stay.
Myrtle: Darling, you must not torture yourself.
Gillian: I begged him for forgiveness. I apologized to him, and he was just so cold. I said to him, we could come up with new dreams and hopes. And then when I got here, I thought I was getting through to him. What do you think I could have said differently?
Myrtle: I don't think you can blame yourself. I mean, who knows -- who knows what went on upstairs between Jake and Ryan?
Gillian: Ryan?
Myrtle: Yes.
Gillian: Ryan was here?
Myrtle: He was upstairs with Jake just before you arrived. Didn't you know?

Marian: It was negative, but it's not over because I've got to be tested for HIV again in six months and then six months after that. And only then can we be certain.
Liza: You know what? I think everything's going to be all right. I really do.
Marian: Thank you, Liza. But that's not all. I mean, for the next year,
Stuart and I are --
Liza: I know. I know. You have to use protection. But I'm sure that Stuart will understand.
Marian: He does. I already told him. Liza, I just can't help feeling I'm being punished for the lifestyle that I used to lead.
Liza: Oh, come on, Mother. That's ridiculous. You were the victim of a crime. You should go to the police station. You should file charges against this Paolo.
Marian: Oh, there's probably an ocean between us by now. All I know is that some truly evil people were out to hurt me and Stuart.
Liza: And you're sure it wasn't Adam?
Marian: Stuart went to the jail to see Adam. And he confronted Adam and said that the future of the relationship was at stake.
Liza: And of course, Adam is completely innocent.
Marian: Adam said he absolutely no dealings to do with Leo du Pres, and Stuart believed him.
Liza: Well, if Adam didn't do it, mother, who did?

Tad: [Chinese accent] never take your eyes off your opponent. It's like a circle around the moon.
Adam: I am in the last circle of hell!
Tad: [Normal voice] no, but you'll get there, baby.
Adam: Stop that. Stop it, stop it, stop it. Throw that thing away.
Tad: I can't do that. My children gave me this. Along with a really nifty, noisy video game. Don't sulk, Adam. Junior sent you something, too, didn't he?
Adam: Yes. A chess set and a radio.
Tad: Ah. More than that. He sent you a book. This nifty volume of Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace."
Adam: It's from Dixie. Obviously a failed attempt at humor.
Tad: Not at all. You'll have plenty of time to read all the classics once they throw away the key.
Adam: Stop it.
Tad: You know something? Given enough time and boredom, I could actually get really good at this.
Guard: Well, a peaceable kingdom. Martin, you have a visitor.
Tad: Du Pres. What the hell are you doing here?
Leo: Uh, some papers from the WRCW lawyers. Affiliation agreement?
Tad: How'd you get roped into that?
Leo: Boss, you know I always give my all for the good of the station.
Tad: Don't call me boss. Liza made you do it.
Leo: Yeah. Wrong place, wrong time.
Tad: Mm-hmm.

Guard: It's time to hit the showers, you two.
Adam: Him first.
Guard: You both go in.
Adam: Look, I'm not showering with him.
Tad: Oh, well, Adam's just feeling bashful, doesn't want people to know about his tattoos. He's got a big old pirate ship on the back between his shoulder blades.
Adam: Idiot.
Tad: And on the front, a little dinghy.
Adam: Cute. Cute. Are you going first, or am I?
Tad: Fine, I'll go. Keep your pants on. I'll make sure I save you plenty of hot water, too.

Adam: Hey, hey. Not so fast. I want to make sure you understand the gravity of that phone conversation.
Leo: Oh, I understand. You'd rather nobody know that you tried to set up your sister-in-law, that you tried to have your brother's marriage destroyed.
Adam: Shh. Yeah, you better remember that.
Leo: Oh, I won't forget.
Adam: Now, get out.
Leo: You know, you sure do give a lot of orders for somebody whose bed and toilet are in the same room.
Adam: Do you think because I'm in a cell I'm any less powerful? I own you, boy. Don't you forget it.
Adam: When you came to see me, you said you wanted to learned from the best. Well, here's your next lesson -- don't ever cross me. Now, get out of here and keep your mouth shut.
Leo: Your brother came to see me.
Adam: What about?
Leo: Oh, he wanted to know who forced me to hurt Marian.
Adam: And you said what?
Leo: I told him that somebody blackmailed me -- somebody that I had trouble with in Europe. You know, I felt horrible for Stuart. He was very upset. You might say wounded.
Adam: Yeah, right. All right.
Leo: Me, I would have been mad as hell, but he was just heartsick that Marian went through all that. He just wanted to make sure that nothing really bad happened to her, that's all.
Adam: And you didn't tell him anything?
Leo: I just told him that all Paolo did was drug her.
Adam: You volunteered information?
Leo: My God, Adam. What the hell's the matter with you? What, don't you have any feelings at all for your brother? I just wanted to --
Adam: My feelings for my brother are none of your damn business. What else did you tell him?
Leo: That's all. But you know what he told me? He told me to watch out for Paolo. Your brother was worried about me.
Adam: My brother is a very kind man.
Leo: Yeah. He's not as stupid as you seem to think.
Adam: No, no. There's nothing stupid about Stuart.
Leo: But you're hoping that he never finds out what you tried to do to his wife.
Adam: He need not if the problem is contained.

Leo's voice: I don't know Adam Chandler.
Paolo: You look a little scared, Leo. I mean, I guess I would be, too, considering the fact that the man could crush you with a single phone call.
Leo: Yeah, well, he won't stop with me, Paolo. How did you know that?
Paolo: I didn't. Not till just now. I saw you two all hush-hush that night over at WRCW, the night that I scored with Marian. Ahem. And it started me thinking.
Leo: Well, that was your first mistake.
Paolo: Adam Chandler paid you to destroy his brother's marriage. Now, that little bit of info ought to be worth something.
Leo: Like 30 grand?
Paolo: For starters.

Adam: Leo, is there any reason to believe the problem is not contained?
Leo: No. I did exactly what you told me to do. No one knows there's any connection between you and me. Except for when I was at your house and Jackson was over there.
Adam: Jackson was there. Yes, he saw you.
Leo: Don't worry. I covered. I just told him that I was there for an errand. Jackson has no reason to believe that you had anything to do with what happened.
Adam: But I'm going to hold you completely responsible for that. You better pray that Jackson doesn't find out that we know each other.
Leo: You know, it seems to me that you're the one who ought to be on his knees.

Liza: So you think that some unknown person was blackmailing Leo to set you up? Because of some deed that he did years ago in Europe?
Marian: Well --
Liza: Well, that was the purpose of the sting, of the blackmail, right? Was to blackmail you, but no attempt was ever made to blackmail you, right?
Marian: It sounded much more plausible when Stuart said it.
Liza: Think about this. When you woke up, Paolo was gone and Leo du Pres was there -- your knight in shining armor?
Marian: You think that Leo masterminded this whole thing? No, Liza. No, no. Stuart truly believes that Leo is just a victim of circumstances.
Liza: You know what? I don't know what to believe. I do believe that there's a lot of pieces of this puzzle that are missing. I think what we really need to do is --

Jack: May I?
Liza: Hi.
Marian: Hi.
Liza: Hi. Thank you for coming.
Jack: No problem. No problem at all.
Liza: Mother, do you mind?
Marian: Oh, no. Of course I don't mind. I'll talk to you later.
Jack: Bye, Marian.
Marian: Nice to see you again, Jack.
Jack: Nice to see you. Always.
Liza: Thanks, mother.
Marian: Not at all.
Liza: I'll call you.
Marian: Thank you.

Jack: Liza, I just wanted to make sure you knew that my resigning from the custody case was a matter of principle for me.
Liza: I lied to you, Jack, and that was wrong. And I should have trusted you, and I didn't. And I'm sorry.
Jack: Well, I'm sorry, too, because you were in a rather impossible situation, and I think I could have been maybe a little more understanding.
Liza: Well, that's very generous of you.
Jack: No, no, not at all. Not at all. No hard feelings, right?
Liza: Oh, certainly not. Jack: Good. Good. Well, then -- listen, I wish you the best of luck with this divorce.
Liza: Jack?
Jack: Yeah?
Liza: I was hoping that I could talk you into representing me for the divorce.
Jack: Well, now, isn't that funny? Because I was hoping that you were hoping that you could talk me into representing you for the divorce.
Liza: You were hoping?
Jack: Yes. Because after what Adam did to you, I think we should go after this SOB. With both barrels.

Arlene: Back off, lieutenant.
Derek: This doesn't concern you, Arlene.
Arlene: Oh, yeah? Well, I'm her sister-in-law and practically the only family she has left.
Derek: God help her.
Arlene: You know, I'm not a lawyer, but I've seen enough cop shows to know that you can't wave a confession in front of someone's face and guilt them into signing it. What would Trev think if he walked in here right now and saw you frightening his wife into signing a frigging confession?
Derek: What would Trevor think if he knew his no-good sister was here trying to sponge off his wife?

Gillian: Ryan was upstairs talking to Jake before I arrived?
Myrtle: Yes. He just left before you got here. You didn't see him on the sidewalk?
Gillian: Do you have any idea what they were talking about?
Myrtle: Darling, I learned years ago not -- not ever -- to listen at keyholes.
Gillian: But he came here and he went upstairs, and they were talking about something.
Myrtle: Well, look, darling --

[teakettle whistles]

Myrtle: Darling, none of this is going to do you any good. Let's ha a cup of tea.

[Doorbell rings]

Myrtle: And then -- oh. Look, you get the kettle. I'll get the door. Oh, Ryan. For heaven sakes. Oh, my gosh.
Ryan: Hello, hello. Yeah one of the sponsors at the station gave us a year's supply of hand soap. So I thought to myself, "Who do I like and who's got a lot of bathrooms?"
Myrtle: Oh. I can't thank you enough.
Ryan: Oh. May I? Do you mind? All right.
Myrtle: Please. I must say, you're the first gentleman who ever brought me some hand soap.
Ryan: This -- is this Gillian's? Is she moving out?
Myrtle: Oh, well. It didn't take you very long to get to the reason for your visit, did it?
Ryan: I'm sorry. Is she patching things up with Jake?
Myrtle: Well -- I tell you what. I'll get some cookies. I'll get some cookies.

Ryan: How are you doing?
Gillian: How do you think I'm doing? Jake left town.
Ryan: Princess, I -- I didn't know that. I'm sorry.
Gillian: What did you say to him?
Ryan: I'm not sure what you're asking me. What did I say to Jake?
Gillian: Myrtle told me you were here last night.
Ryan: I was.
Gillian: Why didn't you tell me?
Ryan: Well, because I haven't seen you since then.
Gillian: You went upstairs. You talked to him. What about?
Ryan: Gillian, why are you so angry?
Gillian: When are you going to stop interfering in my life?
Ryan: Wait, wait, wait. I wasn't interfering in your life. I was actually trying to --
Gillian: To confuse him, cloud his thinking so he wouldn't forgive me.
Ryan: Is that what Jake told you? What, you think I had something to do with Jake leaving town?
Gillian: Didn't you?

Arlene: I won't dignify that with a response, lieutenant. I'm a welcome member of this family. And I'm here at a perfect time to protect Janet from your Gestapo tactics.
Derek: You are here because you had to leave Georgia because the wife of the man you exercised to death swore out a complaint against you.
Arlene: And why are you here, Lieutenant? Huh? You don't care about Janet. You care about your lousy confession. And if Janet's not so important to you, then maybe the truth is.
Derek: What is the truth, Arlene?
Arlene: She didn't kill anyone. And if I see you here again talking to Janet without her attorney present, you're the one who's going to need a lawyer.
Janet: Stop it. Stop it, Arlene. Derek -- I'm sorry.
Derek: I meant what I said, Janet. You're the only one who can bring Trevor home. And I am not the one you have to watch out for.

Arlene: What were you thinking? You were going to sign that thing.
Janet: Well, at least it would all be over with.
Arlene: Look, I don't want to see my niece, Amanda, lose her mother.
Janet: Not to mention precious Aunt Arlene.
Arlene: What are you talking about?
Janet: If I did sign that confession, Trevor would come home. And that means you'd be out on the street.
Arlene: What are you saying?
Janet: I'm saying that you're not trying to protect me. You're trying to protect yourself. You're trying to protect your meal ticket.

Adam: Well, you tell Mr. Shire that there may be a problem with Jackson -- no, don't tell him that. Just get in touch with him immediately and have him call me. Yes, he knows exactly where to find me.
Oh. Stuart, Stuart.
Stuart: Hello, Adam.
Adam: Stuart. You -- you startled me. Why are you here?
Stuart: I came to see you. And I was thinking that this place smells a little like the inside of a lunchbox. So maybe you could use this. It's your favorite after-shave. You can splash some on and maybe it'll make you feel better.
Adam: You didn't have to do that, Stuart.
Stuart: Well, I owe you a lot, Adam. Remembering how you used to stand up for me, and you took a lot of black eyes for me. And I've never really paid you back.
Adam: Those kids were idiots. You're worth 10 of them, 100 of them.
Stuart: You always made me feel that was true. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have you to go through life with. You'd never do anything to hurt me. You couldn't. And that's why I want to apologize.
Adam: You want to apologize to me?
Stuart: I accused you of being behind what happened to Marian at the Valley Inn. And now that I know that you could -- that you didn't have anything to do with that, well, I should have thought better of you, Adam. And I want you to forgive me.

Jack: Liza, the trouble is if Adam doesn't sign those papers, you're going to have to take him to court. Or you're going to have to wait two years to get a divorce without his consent.
Liza: Then he'll sign.
Jack: Really? What --

Leo: Liza -- oh, I'm sorry. Late meeting?
Liza: No. Come in.
Leo: Mission accomplished.
Liza: Oh, have you met my attorney?
Jack: Oh, that's ok. Leo and I know each other, don't we?
Liza: How did you find Tad and Adam? They haven't murdered each other yet?
Leo: Nope, not yet. They seem fine. Will the be anything else?
Liza: No. Thanks. Good night.

Jack: Seems like a nice young kid, bright.
Liza: Yeah. I don't think we've yet plumbed the depths of Leo yet. Did you say that you met him?
Jack: Yes. Once, briefly. At your house, in fact.
Liza: My house?
Jack: Yeah. I went to see Adam, and Leo stopped by.
Liza: To see Adam?
Jack: No, no. He said he was on some WRCW business to pick up a package for you, I think.
Liza: Yeah. He runs errands for me sometimes.
Jack: Yeah. Well, back to this divorce business. I think what I'd like to do is depose the whole staff of that fertility clinic. That is, if they're still -- not where you have evidently gone. Hello? Liza, you with me here?
Liza: I'm sorry. I just remembered a call that I need to make to the West coast.
Jack: Well, I'll tell you what -- why don't you make that call? I'll wait outside, huh?
Liza: It's probably going to take some time. Do you mind if we finish this later?
Jack: We think so much alike. I was just going to say, "Why don't you call me? We'll finish this later." Ok.
Liza: Thanks.
Jack: Sure. Talk to you later.
Liza: Thank you very much.

Liza: Hi. Yeah, I'm glad you're still here. Could I see you just for a few minutes?

Liza's voice: Think about this. When you woke up, Paolo was gone and Leo du Pres was there. Your knight in shining armor?
Marian's voice: You think that Leo masterminded this whole thing?

Leo: Your lawyer, Mr. Montgomery -- he left?
Liza: Yeah. Come in. There's no need to worry.
Leo: Oh, I'm not worried.
Liza: I'm not going to be sending you to jail tonight. I've actually been watching you.
Leo: Mm-hmm.
Liza: The way you operate.
Leo: I operate?
Liza: Yeah. Around the station. I think that you're capable of doing more than you are. I actually think that you're capable of some very important duties.
Leo: I'm game. What did you have in mind?
Liza: Not here. Why don't you come to my house in about 20 minutes?
Leo: Ok.
Liza: Ok. I think that you'll find what I have in mind fascinating.
Leo: I'll be there.
Liza: Great.
Leo: All right.

Adam: Stuart, I am selfish and mean. And I've said terrible things to Marian. How can you ask me to forgive you?
Stuart: Adam, when I pretended to be you, wearing your suits and your special after-shave, it got to be more than just pretending. I got the feeling that I knew you better. Having all that power, having everybody agree with you all the time, having so many people, making them happy or miserable with the stroke of a pen, year after year -- well, that's got to change a man somehow.
Adam: It's very perceptive of you to see that, Stuart.
Stuart: And you know, when I looked way down deep inside you, you know what I saw? I saw you and me, starting off in this world together. I saw us holding hands, holding on to each other when they took Mom away in that pine box. That's got to be worth a lot more than power and money. I realized when I -- when I looked deep down inside of you, you know what I saw? I saw me looking back.
Adam: Oh, I wish to God I could see that. When I look inside me, I don't see anything at all.
Stuart: That's because you don't love yourself as much as I love you.
Adam: Don't, Stuart.
Stuart: Adam, I'll never stop loving you. And I'll never give up on you, either.
Adam: Promise?

Janet: I think you can't go back to Georgia.
Arlene: There are plenty of places I could go.
Janet: You're running out of money. Hayley won't take you in.
Arlene: I don't need Hayley.
Janet: Oh, I think you do. I think you'd like nothing more than to see her smile at you and welcome you into her home.
Arlene: Hayley's always been a moody kid. I can't help it if she holds a grudge.
Janet: I think you really love her in your own way.
Arlene: Ok. Ok. Is it a crime? I mean, I feel like I've made so many mistakes while Hayley was growing up, you know? So many bad choices, and all I want -- all I want is for her to think that I'm not so bad. Can you blame me for wanting my daughter to be proud of me? I mean, you didn't have a prize of a mom, right, Wilma? Don't you wish that she just tried for one minute to earn your respect?
Janet: When I was a little girl, I used to think, if I ever grew up and had a little girl of my own, I'd find 100,000 ways to show her she was the most important thing in the world to me.
Arlene: We're not so different after all, Janet.
Janet: Only I didn't do a very good job with my life up to now.
Arlene: We can't say, "up to now." We got to say, "from now on."
Janet: But what must she think? I mean, think of what Amanda's going to feel when she grows up, what she's going to think about this time in her life and her father disappearing and that it's all my fault. She's going to hate me.
Arlene: We just got to trust our instincts. That's it. It's the only thing we can do.

[Telephone rings]

Janet: Hello?
Woman: Mrs. Dillon?
Janet: Yes.
Woman: This is Mrs. Donaldson, Amanda's teacher.
Janet: Mrs. Donaldson, thank you for returning my call.
Mrs. Donaldson: Well, I can understand why you're concerned. Amanda's always excelled in history, and a D on a test is very unusual for her.
Janet: I realize that. I'll get her to study more at home.
Mrs. Donaldson: Well, Mrs. Dillon, the problem is that Amanda hasn't been herself since her father's departure. She's very distracted and preoccupied.
Janet: I know. It's been a very difficult time.
Mrs. Donaldson: Well, I think Amanda needs someone she can talk to.
Janet: Like a therapist?
Mrs. Donaldson: Yes. And I'm afraid if Amanda doesn't get the help she needs --
Janet: Look, Mrs. Donaldson, I promise I will do what's best for my daughter. Thank you for your concern.

Janet: Hello. Is Lt. Frye there, please?
Arlene: I'm not going to let you make the biggest mistake of your life.

Ryan: What did Jake tell you? Did he say that I was trying --
Gillian: Jake didn't say anything. But he didn't have to because I know. For the longest time, Ryan, you've been trying to get between us. And for what? You don't even want me. But Jake loves me. He loves only me.
Ryan: Wait, wait, wait. Gillian, what are you -- what are you talking about? Where is this coming from?
Gillian: For the first time in my life, I've finally found someone who isn't afraid of love, who knows what it means to love someone, and you couldn't stand it! Did you have to destroy the one good thing that's ever happened to me?
Ryan: Princess, the last thing I want is to cause you pain. I made so many mistakes with us. I know that. But now all I want is for you to be happy, that's all I want, even if it means you being with Jake.
Gillian: You know, you say that, and I want to believe you. You sound so convincing. You have this power over me. Again and again, you get me to doubt what I know is true.
Ryan: What do you think is true?
Gillian: Jake asked me if I would have married him if it hadn't been for Colby. He even asked himself the same question. And you got him to doubt my love for him.
Ryan: What can I possibly say to you if you really believe I would do that?
Gillian: You know what would make me happy? If you would stop interfering in my life, if you would stop confusing me, stop lying to me. If I knew I never had to see you again or think about you, then maybe I would have a chance to be happy.
Ryan: Ok. You got it. I'm out of your life, Princess.
Gillian: Do you swear it?
Ryan: You have my word. From this moment on, you never even have to think about me -- ever again.

Janet: If I confess, Trevor can come home.
Arlene: What if he doesn't?
Janet: He will.
Arlene: What if he's playing the soldier of fortune again and liking it? What if he -- what if he can't come home? What if he's sick? What if he's dead, Janet?
Janet: What, are you crazy? He's alive.
Arlene: Ok. He's alive and he sees his wife on death row. What then?
Janet: Why are you doing this to me?
Arlene: Because you believe in a neat and happy ending, and there is no such thing. Believe me, I know. Now, Amanda can either have a mother or a father, but she can't have both.
Janet: She needs both parents.
Arlene: You got to choose, Janet. She's going to grow up without Trevor or without you. What's it going to be?

Stuart: You didn't tell me yet whether you forgive me or not.
Adam: Yes, I forgive you.
Stuart: Thanks. Well, I'm going to go and see if I can't do something about getting you out of here.
Adam: Stuart -- thank you.
Stuart: Yeah. You sprinkle some of that on you. You'll feel like the real Adam Chandler again.
Adam: The real Adam Chandler.

Tad: Well, it was certainly nice of Stuart to visit twice in one day. At least somebody on the planet cares whether you live or die. What smells so good? Stuart brought you cologne? Let me see that for a second.
Adam: Leave me alone.
Tad: He didn't. Stuart? Stuart, is that you?
Adam: Of course not, you moron.
Tad: Adam? Are you crying?

Myrtle: The man from Wildwind is taking your trunk, darling. And here, this is for you. Peggy sent it.
Gillian: Thank you. This is Jake's handwriting.

< Jake's voice: "Gillian, I'm sorry I left town without seeing you. I just didn't know what else to say. I still don't. I'm angry and confused. I still feel betrayed by just about everybody in my life. But I believe that you thought you were doing what was best for me, that you acted out of love and that you're suffering, too. Gillian, I know that you're unselfish and courageous. And I can't stay angry at you forever. When some time passes, we can talk about all this. I promise. Please, don't worry about me. Just take care of yourself. Jake."

Myrtle: Is he all right?
Gillian: Poor Jake. "I believe you were doing what was best for me, that you acted out of love. Ryan helped me see that." Ryan was trying to defend me.
Myrtle: Certainly looks that way.
Gillian: Oh, my God, Myrtle. What have I done?

Greenlee: Hi! Hi. I'm sorry I'm late. But I just got some things for our brainstorming session -- sodas for caffeine. I got chocolate bars for energy. And we got some gum to chew on while we come up with some really great ideas. And I got this Noofie ball thingy to keep the juices flowing.
Ryan: Oh. Well, I'm sorry if my light is burning a little dim right now.
Greenlee: Oh, well, that's why I'm here. So, are you ready to begin that brand-new exciting chapter of your life?
Ryan: More ready than ever.
Greenlee: He shoots! He scores!

Janet: You're right. Amanda loses a parent no matter what I do.
Arlene: Yeah, that's the size of it.
Janet: I just can't take this anymore. I can't do this alone. I need to talk to Trevor.
Arlene: Hey -- hey, Trev is not here. And you're not alone. You got me. I just want the best for both of you. You know that.

Janet: Amanda, sweetheart. Did you do some homework?
Amanda: Nope.
Janet: What's that?
Amanda: It's an angel necklace.
Janet: Well, it's very pretty. Where'd you get that?
Amanda: From Daddy.
Janet: What, he sent it to you?
Amanda: Daddy was here.
Janet: When?
Amanda: Today.

Adam: Shut up. Leave me the hell alone.
Tad: What did you do to him? What'd you do to Stuart?

Winifred: Yes, sir, wait here. She'll be with you shortly.
Leo: Ok.
Liza: Thank you for coming, Leo.
Leo: Sure. Liza: You know, I have a confession to make -- that I brought you here under false pretenses. Can I trust you? Thank goodness. Because I need your help desperately.

On the next "All My Children"

Janet: Is he still here?
Amanda: No, he had to go. But he told me to tell you something, Mommy.

Jack: Boys -- am I interrupting something?

Liza: That didn't taste funny?
Leo: What, the scotch?
Liza: What I might have put in it.
