ALL MY CHILDREN

MARCH 21, 2001

Jack: "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, what I am asking you for is a convergence of conscience." "Convergence of conscience." I like that. "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, what I am asking you for is a convergence of conscience."

Bianca: Uncle Jack, you talking to yourself?
Jack: Ha. You scared me to death. No. I'm working on a closing argument here. What are you doing here?
Bianca: Oh, I wanted to drop by and see if I could catch Mom before she took off.
Jack: Oh. Well, you know, you just missed her. She has an appointment and she's not going to be back until very late tonight. She had to go to New York for dinner -- with the mayor.
Bianca: Oh.
Jack: Yeah.
Bianca: Oh, well! Wow! That must be about the fundraiser for teens against addiction.
Jack: Now, you see that? Beautiful, brave, and smart. This is a potent combination. You know, I hope I don't have to tell you how proud your mother and I are of you.
Bianca: No, you don't have to tell me.
Jack: Well, I think I will anyway. We're very proud of you. Your mother sat right there and she was absolutely beaming about the way you handled Shannon.
Bianca: Well, no medals, please. Jack: Has something happened?
Bianca: I don't know. No, no, not really.
Jack: I see. Well, what kind of happened?
Bianca: It was weird. I ran into Shannon right after the whole thing went down at BJ's, and -- you know, I -- of course, her loyal flunkies jumped all over me.
Jack: Yeah. Of course. Well, you had to have expected that, huh?
Bianca: I did expect that, but I didn't expect Shannon's reaction at all. I mean, I would have expected her to tear into me, too, but she completely played me off. She didn't say one word to me.
Jack: Huh. Well, maybe she was too embarrassed.
Bianca: Yeah, maybe. Anyway, never mind.
Jack: So what booty have we plundered from yonder mall?
Bianca: Ah. This.
Jack: That would be a tulip.
Bianca: Yes, it is.
Jack: Yes. For me?
Bianca: No. It's for Sarah.
Jack: Oh, darn!
Bianca: I thought I would bring it to her when I saw her at Easter. It's not too corny, is it? You know, I promised her that I would bring her a tulip in the springtime.
Jack: No, I -- I think that's very sweet.
Bianca: What is it, Uncle Jack? Jack: Well, I'm not sure I should be the one to break this news to you, but your mom --
Bianca: What, did something happen to Sarah? Jack: No -- oh, no, no, no. Sarah's fine, honey. It's just your mom got a note from Mrs. Livingston saying that she planned to take Sarah to France for Easter.
Bianca: I can't believe she didn't tell me.
Jack: Well, I have a feeling this was as much a surprise for Sarah as it is for you.
Bianca: Not Sarah. Mom.

David: All right, wait. Just lock the door behind you. I'm going to look around.
Dixie: David, all of this is hardly necessary.
David: Dixie, just do it, please! Anybody home? Just wait by the door. I'm going to go look upstairs.
Dixie: David.
David: Dixie, as long as Leslie is missing, your life is in jeopardy.
Dixie: Listen, the last time we saw her, she was in a coma. I'm sure she didn't hop out of bed and rob a gun store.

[Noise]

David: Shh! Did you hear that?
Dixie: It's the furnace. It knocks like that all the time. Really. You have to relax.
David: I'm not going to be able to relax until she's found.
And, Dixie, you really should be taking this more seriously.
Dixie: I do. I am.
David: Hey, the woman is a freak of nature. She survived a fall from a building that would have killed most people. And now she's missing from a hospital where just hours ago she was lying in a coma? I mean, how she escaped from that, I'll never figure out.
Dixie: Well, somebody must have taken her. What, you think that she left on her own?
David: I just don't think that we can afford to take any chances.
Dixie: You know something, don't you?
David: Only that I won't rest until she's found.
Dixie: No, there's something else. You're hiding something from me, aren't you?

[Knock on door]

Alex: How's Anna? Has she been admitted?
Dimitri: Yeah, yeah. She's been admitted, and I think she's doing a little better.
Alex: No. Don't let that deceive you. If she has another seizure, I don't know. We could lose her.
Dimitri: Alex, you can't go in just yet.
Alex: Why not?
Edmund: Jake Martin's in the room.
Alex: What is he doing in there?
Dimitri: We did not have a choice. He came in, he wanted to treat Anna immediately. If we had objected, it would have arisen his suspicions.
Alex: But he thinks it's me, right?
Dimitri: Absolutely. Alex: You have to get him out of there.
Dimitri: I will, I will. I'll get right back in there.
Alex: Well, how did this happen? I thought that Joe was supposed to make the room quarantined.
Edmund: He was and he did. But Jake just walked in, saw what he thought was you, and all of a sudden he's concerned. He wants to treat you.
Alex: He's going to realize it's not me.
Edmund: Well, maybe, maybe not. Anna's holding her own.
Alex: No, he thinks he's talking to a doctor. When he starts speaking about specifics -- no. Where's Joe?
Dimitri: Well, Joe was called into surgery.
Alex: He was?
Edmund: Listen, we have Bart right outside of OR, ok? As soon as Joe comes out, he'll bring him to us.
Alex: And how long is that going to be?
Dimitri: Alex, Alex, you coached Anna on the way here. She's doing well. She can handle Jake for a few minutes.
Alex: God, I hope you're right.
Anna: I don't know what you mean.

Jake: Alex, what I mean is this morning, you seemed fine. I was looking right at you and your color was good, your eyes were clear, and you seemed in good health. And now here you are tonight with some contagious South American disease.
Anna: Well, I've been symptomatic for weeks.
Jake: Well, does this have anything to do with what you've been experiencing since you got back?
Anna: What?
Jake: Alex, Dimitri asked me for meds and equipment. You're having seizures?
Anna: Yeah. I thought they would pass, you know, and I called a friend of mine. She's an expert in -- anyway, she said that it sounded more serious.
Jake: Ok, ok. All right. Listen, I just -- let's check and see how that fever's doing, all right? Alex? Easy, easy. It's 104. Alex? Any pain when I do this?

[Distorted voice]

Jake: Tell me everything, Alex.

Anna: Please don't kill me.

Jake: [Normal voice] ok. All right, relax.
Anna: What do you want? Jake: Ok, relax. You're ok.
Jake: Alex. What's happening?
Anna: Who's Alex?
Jake: Don't you know who you are?
Anna: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm Dr. Alexandra Marick. Of course. What did I say?
Jake: You're febrile and it's caused an alternation in your cognitive function. I'm going to check your pupils, all right?
Anna: I have to know -- what did I say?
Jake: Well, you thought I was trying to kill you. Now, I assure you, I haven't tried to kill a patient yet. Even the ones who deserve it.
Anna: I was delusional because of the fever.
Jake: Yeah. That's what I just said.
Anna: Right. Maybe you should put me together some flash cards like you did Gillian. I'm sorry things didn't work out between you two.
Jake: Yeah. Well, I think things worked out the way they were supposed to. Goes for both of us, right?
Anna: Yeah. But at least you've still got Callie.
Jake: Callie?
Anna: The baby? She must be pretty big by now.

Dimitri: Hey, Sweetheart.
Jake: Dimitri.
Dimitri: How you doing? Hmm?
Jake: Well, for a doctor as a patient, I think she's doing pretty good.
Dimitri: Good.
Jake: Listen, may I have a word with you outside for a sec?

Dimitri: Yeah. Everything's fine. I'll be right back. Your specialist called and he's on the way. Yeah?

Jake: Where the hell is this specialist?
Edmund: Why? Has there been a change?
Jake: Her condition is weakening. We got Dr. Tayborne who's on staff here. He is a specialist in this kind of thing.
Dimitri: Yes, yes.
Jake: We need to bring him in here!
Dimitri: Jake, she wants her own doctor. They've conferred. They're comfortable together. Anything else will alarm her.
Edmund: She had better get here, Dimitri.
Dimitri: Jake -- Jake, she's having a seizure!
Jake: She's having a grand mal seizure! Let's get a line on her right away!
Nurse: Right away, Doctor.
Jake: Nurse, help me secure this pillow here, please. Secure her head on that side. Here. Leave her mouth clear so she can breathe. Ok. Just hold her steady. Hold her steady.

Edmund: Alex?
Alex: What is it?
Edmund: Anna's having another seizure. Jake's doing what he can.
Alex: No. That's all right. I have to go.
Edmund: Look, wait, wait. You go in there, you're going to blow her cover.
Alex: It's fine! I'll wear a mask. They won't know.
Edmund: As soon as you open your mouth, Jake's going to recognize you.
Alex: I don't care! She needs me.
Edmund: All right, all right, I know she does, but think, just think. Think about the nurses, think about the entire staff, ok? Once they find out Anna's alive, we can't contain this. Alex: What am I supposed to do? She needs a doctor in there that knows what's going on, and that's me. Oh. I know who to get.
Edmund: Who you calling?
Alex: David.
Edmund: David Hayward?
Alex: Yeah.
Edmund: You're going to trust your sister's life to David Hayward?
Alex: What choice do I have?
Edmund: I know, I know.
Alex: He'll know what to do. I'll talk to him. Please, answer the phone, answer the phone, answer the phone.

[Telephone rings]

Dixie: Aren't you going to answer that?
David: No, not this time. I told the hospital call my service until further notice.

[Ring]

David: I want to finish this conversation, Dixie. I'm not hiding anything.

[Ring]

Dixie: Well, what if it's not the hospital? What if it's something to do with Leslie?

[Ring]

David: Dr. Hayward.
Alex: David, it's Alex. I need you.
David: I'm busy.
Alex: No. It's my sister. She's in the hospital.
David: Oh, I'm sure you can handle it.

Dixie: What is it?
David: I'm sorry, but I really can't help you right now.
Alex: David!
David -- ah! No.

Edmund: Did he say where he was?
Alex: No. Dixie was in the background. He's with her.
Edmund: Ok, good. Ok. You stay put, all right? You just stay put and promise me you'll lock the door.
Alex: Where are you going?
Edmund: To get Hayward.

Jack: Kiddo, your mother just got that note from Mrs. Livingston. I'm sure if she didn't have this appointment tonight, she would have told you all about it when she got home.
Bianca: Well, we'll never know, will we?
Jack: Hey, hey, hey, please. Please. Don't assume the worst, huh?
Bianca: Uncle Jack, I was here earlier and Mom didn't say anything.
Jack: Ok, but let's be fair, there was a lot going on here earlier -- Shannon waltzing through the door higher than a kite, your mother having to cancel an entire campaign because of her. Honey, you and your mother -- you seem to be on the verge of forging a nice, new relationship with each other. Please give it a chance. It just -- you know, everybody, everybody deserves the benefit of the doubt sometimes.
Bianca: Uncle Jack, Mom knows how important Sarah is to me.
Jack: Absolutely. Your mother absolutely understood how much you were looking forward to seeing Sarah, that's true.
Bianca: Right.
Jack: Look, maybe -- maybe you and Sarah can make plans to see each other this summer, huh?
Bianca: Well, her mother is taking her to France for spring break. I wonder where she's going to take her for the summer -- probably Australia. Her mother will do anything to keep us apart.
Jack: You know that for a fact, do you?
Bianca: Yes, yes, I do, and the sooner I admit it to myself, the better off I'll be.
Jack: Look, why don't we go grab a bite to eat. I'm waiting for a jury to come in and I think maybe you could use a friendly ear, huh?
Bianca: I don't think so, Uncle Jack. I think I just want to head home. There's always my journal.
Jack: Well, that's just a little bit depressing, isn't it? I mean, I just hate to see you spending so much time alone, Kiddo. Why don't you call Laura. We'll all go to dinner, and then I'll send you two off to whatever movie you want to see, my treat.
Bianca: Uncle Jack, you don't need to round up pals for me. I have my own friends.
Jack: Good. Good. I just hope you have friends at school that will stand behind you after you expose Shannon.
Bianca: They will.
Jack: Good.
Bianca: They're used to it. I seem to find myself in the center of controversy a lot these days. Hey, and Shannon never liked me anyway.
Jack: You know, Kiddo, I just wish you could find yourself in the middle of something that made you happy.
Bianca: You sound like Dad. Thanks for caring, Uncle Jack.
Jack: You bet.

[Knock on door]

Shannon: Excuse me. Is Ms. Kane here?
Jack: No, no. Ms. Kane has left for the day. Is there something I can do for you?
Shannon: No, but Bianca can help me. I have some things to tell you
Bianca: What did you want to say to me, Shannon?
Shannon: Your mother called my parents. They freaked out pretty bad when she told them what I'd done. My mother couldn't stop crying, and my father -- well, he grounded me until the end of the semester. Everything's out -- no cheerleading, no parties. I start outpatient drug counseling tomorrow morning.
Jack: Well, Shannon, it sounds to me like your parents love you very much. But what exactly does this have to do with my niece?
Shannon: I need to thank you. My parents made me realize that you're a better friend to me than Heather and Mindy and everyone else I hang with. Nobody cared enough to stop me from doing something so stupid and dangerous.
Bianca: So you're saying that you're not mad at me at all?
Shannon: At first, I was beyond furious. I totally blamed you for ruining my life. I even vowed that I'd get you back. But you really didn't do anything.
I was messing up all on my own -- trying to speak out against drug addiction when I was high.
Jack: Shannon, just so you know, Ms. Kane has decided to scrap the Miss Young Enchantment campaign indefinitely.
Shannon: I know. I'm not trying to get my job back or anything. I just came by to tell ms. Kane that I'm really sorry that I let her down and I wanted Bianca to know that I'm grateful that she stepped in.
Jack: Ok, well, mission accomplished, huh?
Shannon: There's something else. If you don't think I'm a total waste of skin, I was wondering if maybe we could be friends?

David: You're going to have to do better than that.
Dixie: What are you talking about?
David: I know an invitation to a cold shower when I see one.
Dixie: I just wanted to get comfortable. I -- ok. You got me.
David: Do I make you uncomfortable being here, Dixie?
Dixie: Honestly, it is a bit awkward even though the boys aren't here.
David: Hmm. I'm sorry. I know that I told you that I would give you your space, but instead, I'm here crowding you.
Dixie: No, you're worried about me? That's not really crowding. It's -- it's caring.
David: All I want to do is take care of you, Dixie -- give you the best of everything, lay the world at your feet.
Dixie: I don't need big fancy things.
David: I know that. But I want to give them to you anyway. I wish we could fast-forward to the day that we'd have our own house.
Dixie: Oh, really?
David: Yeah, why not, hmm? I'd come every night for dinner and no surgeries past 5:00 for me.
Dixie: Somehow, I find that hard to believe.
David: What, are you kidding me? Why wouldn't I want to come home with you waiting there for me? Hopefully, in something a little more risqué than this.
Dixie: Oh. Wrapped in cellophane and a smile?
David: Now we're talking.
Dixie: You have a rather active fantasy life.
David: Fantasies can come true.

[Banging at door]

Edmund: Dixie? Dixie, open up, please! I need to speak to Hayward right away.

[Banging]

David: Just ignore him.
Dixie: You know I can't do that. Edmund, what is it? What's wrong?
Edmund: Hi. Alex needs you. Why did you hang up on her?
Dixie: That was Alex who called?
David: I told Alex and I'll tell you -- I'm not available tonight.
Edmund: She is in the hospital! She's having seizures!
Dixie: What, is she sick?
Edmund: She could be --
Dixie: You have to go to her right away!

Jake: All right. Let's secure her head. She's having another one. Dimitri, any word yet on that specialist?
Dimitri: She's on her way. I'll check again.
Nurse: Do you want blood sent for CBC., Chem-7, and lytes?
Jake: Yes, yes. Let's do a blood culture and ABG's You know what? Let's just set up an LP set in here. I'm not waiting for her doctor another minute.

Dimitri: Alex.
Alex: What's going on in there?
Dimitri: She's having another seizure and they're coming back-to-back.
Alex: Ok, she's in status epilepticus. If we don't stop it, it's going to get progressively worse. You go in there and you pick Jake up and carry him out if you have to.
Dimitri: All right, all right. I'll handle it. Hang on.
Alex: I'm not the one who needs to hang on.
Dimitri: You have got to stay out of sight.
Alex: Tell her I'm coming.
Dimitri: I will

Nurse: She's stable. B.P., 140/90. Jake: Ok.

[Pager beeps]

Jake: You know what? This is the ER. I'm going to check what's going on and I'm going to be right back, all right? Page me if you need me.
Dimitri: Jake, Jake, Dr. Potter, Alex's specialist, has arrived. She's suiting up.
Jake: Finally.
Dimitri: Well -- where were you headed?
Jake: Yeah, I got to go down and check on the ER., And I'll be right back up to brief Dr. Potter.
Dimitri: Yeah, but I'm sure the nurse can handle that.
Jake: Dimitri, it's not a nurse's responsibility.
Dimitri: I understand that. Listen, I want to thank you for your assistance, but Dr. Potter should take it from here. It's what Alex wants, and I have to respect that.
Jake: I'm going to run to the ER., And I'll be right back up.

Alex: Let's get her some diazepam, 1o milligrams over the next two minutes, followed by 1,000 milligrams of PTN, 50 Milligrams a minute, stat.
Nurse: Yes, doctor.
Alex: It's all right, Anna. I'm here. You're going to be ok.

David: Alex is the patient? I must have misunderstood.
Edmund: It doesn't matter what -- I'll explain it to you on the way to the hospital, all right? We're wasting time. Let's just go.
David: No, no, no. Dixie's life is in danger. I can't leave her alone.
Edmund: Dixie?
Dixie: David is completely over exaggerating. I'm fine --
David: I am not over exaggerating.
Dixie: And I'll be fine. Please, forget about Leslie Coulson. I'll call if anything strange happens.
Edmund: Hayward?
David: No, no, no, I am not leaving you alone, Dixie.
Edmund: All right, fine, I'll stay with her. Ok, you go the hospital, I'll stay with Dixie. Alex is in the quarantine room, and -- she picked up an infectious disease in South America-- I'll explain it to you, all right? Just -- just go, come on.
David: What?
Dixie: Really, you really should just go, please. Take care of Alex.
Edmund: Everything will be clear, ok, just as soon as you get there. Go.
David: All right. Look, just lock the door and don't let Edmund out of your sight. Do you understand me? Ok?
Dixie: Ok.
David: I'll be back soon.
Dixie: Ok.
David: You better take care of her.
Edmund: You do your job, I'll do mine.

Bianca: You want me to be your friend?
Shannon: You think I'm a loser, don't you?
Bianca: I didn't say that.
Shannon: I don't blame you for not trusting me, I mean, not after all that I put you through. I'm sorry for that. I was jealous.
Bianca: Why be jealous of me?
Shannon: Because -- when you came here you were attracting all this attention, not just because you were Erica Kane's daughter, but because you had it all together. I mean, pretty, smart, all the boys like you -- I mean, before.
Bianca: Some of the boys still like me. I mean, after.
Shannon: I'm sorry -- no. I didn't mean that. That was dumb. I'm always saying dumb things I didn't even mean to. I don't blame you for thinking I'm totally worthless. Excuse me, I need to go to the ladies' room.
Jack: Oh, well, that would be right through there.

Bianca: Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually feel sorry for her.
Jack: Ooh. Ugh. You know, I'm thinking maybe --

[telephone rings]

Jack: That's the point. Well, looks like my jury's back.
Bianca: So what are you waiting for?
Jack: Thought I'd wait till Shannon got back, we could all walk out together, you know.
Bianca: Uncle Jack, you don't have to worry. I can handle Shannon.
Jack: Yes, yes, I believe you can. But, Bianca, you are a very kindhearted person, and I would hate for somebody to take advantage of that.
Bianca: Somebody very wise once told me, "everybody deserves the benefit of the doubt sometimes."
Jack: Mm-hmm. Well, let's just hope that that somebody knew what the hell they were talking about. See you later.
Bianca: Good luck.
Jack: Yeah, watch yourself.
Bianca: Uh-huh.

Jack: Shannon.
Bianca: Are you ok, Shannon?
Shannon: Yeah, thanks. I should get going.
Bianca: Ok. I will let my Mom know that you dropped by.
Shannon: What was it like, you know, in rehab?
Bianca: Why do you want to know about my time in rehab?
Shannon: Because I don't know what to expect and I'm wondering if I could handle all that.
Bianca: I thought you said you were doing out-patient therapy.
Shannon: That's only because my parents think I can stop whenever I want.
Bianca: And you can't?
Shannon: I tried. Once they find out the truth, they'll send me away for sure. I don't know if I can do it. I've never been so scared in my entire life.
Bianca: Here you go.
Shannon: Thanks. I've been trying to keep it together all day.
Bianca: You shouldn't have to. You should really talk to somebody about this.
Shannon: Like who? Heather and Mindy? I don't think so.
Bianca: What about your counselor?
Shannon: I don't meet him until tomorrow, and once he finds out how serious it really is, he'll check me up for sure.
Bianca: Shannon, it really doesn't work that way. I mean, you should be able to tell your counselor anything, and he can't send you away to rehab without your parents' permission.
Shannon: That would take all of five minutes.
Bianca: Well, rehab doesn't have to be horrendous. It's really what you make of it. I mean, if you fight it, it's going to be hard. But if you use it to get better, then you're going to discover things about yourself that you never knew, maybe deal with things that you were afraid to before.
Shannon: Is that where you discovered you were gay?
Bianca: That's where I accepted it.
Shannon: You sound so positive. I really feel better talking to you. Maybe you'd be my sponsor? I mean, I know I'll need one.
Bianca: I don't -- I don't think so, Shannon. I mean, I was in Fairview for an eating disorder. I think that you should find someone to sponsor you who's been through what you're going through.
Shannon: But you did. I mean, you were doing something bad to your body, starving yourself to death.
Bianca: It's not the same thing.
Shannon: You felt helpless, right? Out of control? I looked up the 12 steps on the internet, and -- look, you felt powerless just like I do. You understand. Nobody else does. None of my friends do. They're still into partying.
Bianca: Shannon, first, you wanted me to be your friend. Now you want me to be your sponsor?
Shannon: Please, Bianca, I need your help. I don't have anyone else. Never mind. I totally deserve this. I don't blame you. I'm sorry I bothered you.
Bianca: Shannon, wait. Look, I'll do what I can until you find yourself a re sponsor for NA.
Shannon: Seriously? Oh, thank you so much. I'm so grateful.
Bianca: Shannon, but you're going to have to do all the work. This is all on you.
Shannon: I will, I swear. I won't let you down. Thank you so much, Bianca.

[Door closes]

Alex: She's seizing again. Move, move. Get her -- more PTN, another 500 milligrams. And bring the crash cart. We might have to tube her. Come on, come on. Come on, stay with me, stay with me. Stay with me.
David: I'm Dr. Hayward.
Alex: David.
David: Alex! What the hell is going on?
Alex: I can't get her stabilized. She's status epilepticus, and I'm losing her.
David: She's in V-tach. What has she been treated with?
Alex: Diazepam and PTN.
David: Ok, I'm going to give her an amp of lidocaine. Get the paddles ready just in case.
Alex: Oh, I ordered another 500 milligrams of PTN
David: All right, hold off on that. The PTN may have been infused too rapidly.
Alex: I've been trying to get her to a therapeutic level.
David: Great. She's responding.
Alex: Ok.
David: Thank you, nurse. That's ok. We'll call you if we need you.
Nurse: Ok.
David: Ok?
Alex: I can't get a handle on her seizures. Maybe the PTN level was sub therapeutic. Maybe that's what's been causing the seizures.
David: No, not necessarily. She has a fever. I think we should do an LP just to determine the cause.
Alex: I didn't even think of that. I didn't even realize she was in V-tach. Oh, God, I've got no business treating her.
David: Alex, she was seizing. You didn't have any time. Listen to me -- I know this is difficult. I had to operate on my mother while you were away, but you have to detach. That's the only way you're going to help your sister. Now, you know what you're doing.
Alex: I don't want to lose her.
David: That's not going to happen. We're going to work together, right? But you have to get a grip on yourself. Can you do that?
Alex: Yes.
David: Ok, good. Oh, her heart rate's back to normal. Let's continue the protocol.
Alex: Here.
David: Ok. I see you ordered 1,000 milligrams of PTN
Alex: Yeah.
David: Ok, that's good. Why don't you run it through the IV Slowly, ok? One gram an hour.
David: It's all right. Try it again.

Bianca: No, no. It's ok, Sarah. I mean, of course I'm disappointed that I won't get to see you, but -- hey, at least you're going to get to practice your French. Anyway, maybe you n come visit here in the summer. It's so awesome here in the summer. We can go horseback riding. We can go sailing on willow lake. I have a friend who lives on a yacht. Seriously. He's awesome. You're going to love him. Well, Mom and I are doing ok. Yeah. She's trying, you know? So am I. I might even get involved with her favorite charity, teens against addiction. Oh, hey, I wanted to ask you, do you remember that girl at rehab that was all messed up on X? Well, there's this girl here who's in trouble, and she asked me to be h sponsor. Yeah. I guess I'll do it. It's weird. She seems like this straight-on party girl, but she's really just as clueless and scared as the rest of us. Yeah. We're not really friends right now, but maybe we will be.

Mindy: Oh, hey, Shannon.
Heather: Hey.
Mindy: Are you ok?
Heather: You look so serious. What happened?
Shannon: I just saw Bianca.
Mindy: And? What happened?
Shannon: Ok, guys. I have something to tell you. I admitted to Bianca that I have a serious drug problem, and I asked her to be my sponsor. And she totally bought it. I am so in.

Alex: Tap shows elevated protein, normal glucose, some lymphs, l's than 1,000 cells. Looks viral to me.
David: I concur. A sub therapeutic level of PTN, combined with an infectious process, must have triggered this event.
Alex: I still need to get a handle on the dosage, though.
David: I'll help you, if you like.
Alex: Yes.

Dimitri: How is she?
Alex: Oh, she's stabilized. We were just looking over the results of the spinal tap. A virus caused the fever, and that's what triggered the seizures.
Dimitri: Is she going to make it?
Alex: She's out of danger, yes.
David: I'm going to check on Dixie. I'll be in our office, if you need me.
Alex: Thank you, David.
David: Sure.

Dimitri: He's going to check on Dixie. So, am I right in assuming he was helpful?
Alex: Oh, yeah. Yeah, he identified the problem, knew exactly what to prescribe.
Dimitri: Yeah, well, don't discount your efforts. I mean, you know, you guys did it together.
Alex: No, we didn't. I -- I fell apart. I almost lost her. No, David was really great.
Dimitri: Yeah, yeah, and I'm sure he wants you to feel completely indebted to him.
Alex: Well, I am. Whatever your feelings are for him, whatever mine are, the fact remains that he is an exceptional doctor. He saved Anna's life. And he saved yours, too.
Dimitri: Yeah.

Dixie: Well, that's great. Oh, I'll be sure to tell Edmund. Everything is fine here. Don't worry. Look, listen to me, you stay there and monitor Alex and send her my love. Hmm. Ok. Listen, I'll see you later. All right -- you -- ok. Bye. Take care.

Edmund: Is that good news from David?
Dixie: Yes. I'm sorry. Alex is stabilized. She's fine. He told me to tell you that she is resting quietly and that Dimitri and her specialist are with her.
Edmund: Thank you.
Dixie: Yeah. You're welcome. Listen, if you want to go and check on her yourself, I'll be fine.
Edmund: No, I promised Hayward I would sit with you.
Dixie: Hmm. David worries about me just a bit too much. He thinks that I need protection from a woman that's in a coma.
Edmund: From where I'm sitting, Dixie, I think you need a little protection from him.
Dixie: Oh, don't you start. The entire town has been, like, working on me about David, and quite frankly, I'm a little sick of it.
Edmund: Maybe you should start listening.
Dixie: Maybe some people should keep their opinions to themselves.
Edmund: Well, I guess I was out of line. None of my business.
Dixie: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You know, you're sweet and -- I'm sorry I snapped at you. Let's just forget about it, ok? Honestly, I am a little bit rattled by Leslie's disappearance, and I will feel better when they find her.
Edmund: Is she really a threat to you?
Dixie: I don't see how she could be. I mean, she's -- I guess she could have gotten out of the hospital by herself somehow, but she must be in really bad shape. By the time they find her, she could be dead.

Leslie: Where have you taken me?

Laura: The whole world knows I have a thing for Leo. I have to put a stop to this.

Ryan: You want to tell me who Mr. Miller really is and why he's got you sweating?

Tad: I love you very much.
