ALL MY CHILDREN

MARCH 12, 2002

PREVIOUSLY ON - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Greenlee: You want to wash your hands of me, fine. But just know that when you walk out that door, you're giving up the best thing that ever happened to either of you.

Earl: I pronounce you husband and wife.

Ryan: You can stay, all right, for a few days.

Mateo: He claims that she has multiples. She's going to cop an insanity plea.

Caller: [Distorted voice] you'll be rewarded for what you've done.

TODAY'S - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

[Greenlee wakes up at her desk in Enchantment and sees someone that surprises her]
Greenlee: Oh, my God.

[Leo wakes up on a park bench]
[Leo groans]
Leo: What do you want?
Simone: Not you, that's for sure. Here, put these on. That's better, huh? I was running earlier and I saw you passed out on the bench. Nice one. Uh, double shot cap, corn muffin? No foam? Nice of me, I know.
Leo: Are you serious?
Simone: About food for a hangover? Oh, yeah. Hey, you're lucky that it wasn't that cold out last night because, you know, you could've frozen to death.
Leo: No. No.
Simone: "No, no" what?
Leo: No, not you, no way, no how. Get it?

David: Good morning, Mrs. Hayward.
David: Oh, I get it.
Anna: What do you get, Dr. Hayward?
David: Well, now that we're married, the fun is over, right? No more sex in the morning, no more spontaneity.
Anna: Yeah, that's right. You're cut off. How are you feeling this morning?
David: I feel as good as I ever feel when -- whenever we have a night like the one we had last night.
Anna: Been married a lot, then, have you?
David: No. I was talking about after the wedding.
Anna: Yeah.
David: Which was the best part, wouldn't you say?
Anna: I'm starving. Aren't you starving?
David: Hey, come -- wait a minute. Come back here.
Anna: No, no, really. I am. I could eat an English breakfast -- eggs, bacon, blood sausage.
David: Hey, hey, hey.
Anna: I know.
David: I'm trying to be romantic here, and you're talking about blood sausages.
Anna: Come on, come on. Get a shower. Come on.
David: Ok.
Anna: Oh!
Anna: I married you to help keep you out of jail.
David: I know.
Anna: Should I be sending you there instead?

[Ryan wakes up with Kendall wrapped around him]
Ryan: Kendall? Kendall, Honey. Wake up.
Ryan: Hi. Did you sleep well?
Kendall: Like a rock.
Ryan: You see, I thought you were going to sleep on the couch.
Kendall: I was.
Ryan: That was the deal.
Kendall: I know. But this seemed like a much better option.
Ryan: You think?
Kendall: Don't you? You want to play?

Vanessa: I'm sorry, Dear, but this is a private suite.
Mateo: Cut the crap, Vanessa.
Vanessa: Oh --
Mateo: See, that's not a good idea.
Vanessa: Well, who are you? What do you want?
Mateo: I'm a disgruntled former employee. And I want you to die.
Vanessa: I really don't appreciate these strong-arm tactics, you know. I'm --
Mateo: Listen to me. Shh -- shut up. Look at me. You know who I am, right? You remember me now, don't you?
Vanessa: I don't think so.
Mateo: I'm the guy you set up. You dragged me into all that stuff I wanted no part of. I took the fall for you, I went to prison, I almost got killed by one of your thugs. Does that sound familiar, huh?
Vanessa: No.
Mateo: That really doesn't matter, anyway, because what you really did is you threatened my family. My wife, my children -- you told me you were going to kill them if I didn't do what you wanted. You remember that? Huh?
Vanessa: Young -- young man --
Mateo: Uh-huh?
Vanessa: You know, please just let go.
Mateo: Oh, let go?
Vanessa: Mm-hmm.
Mateo: No. No. I'm going to make you pay. I'm here to punish you, Vanessa. I am.
Vanessa: No, you -- do you know that there is a studio guard right outside that door? How'd you get --
Mateo: You taught me a lot of cool little tricks -- how to get past guards -- how to get past guards, how to launder your money, how to find the weakness in people who have no soul. It took a long time, but I figured it out.
Vanessa: Well, what-- whatever you want, I'll give you anything. I --
Mateo: What do I want? I -- I want the time back, the time that I lost with my newborn son, with my wife. Can you do that? Hmm? Can you give me that time back? Are you that powerful? No, you're not, are you? You're not. So let me tell you how I'm going to pay you back. Ok? Let me tell you. I'm going to do something really bad to you, and it's going to be really, really slow. All right? And it's going to be a pain that you never felt before --
Vanessa: Mm-hmm.
Mateo: A pain that only I know. All right? So if you want, you can ask me. All right?
[Mateo squeezes Vanessa’s wrists]
Vanessa: Aah!

Greenlee: Daddy.
Daddy, I'm so glad you're here.
Roger: I tried your apartment first.
Greenlee: You know, I worked here all night until I passed out on my desk. I couldn't bring myself to stay in my loft by myself, so --
Roger: Greenlee, I've -- I've been an awful father.
Greenlee: What? No, no, it's ok. I figured you'd try to get in touch with me after everything that happened, but I'm never there, so --
Roger: No, I -- I've been lousy.
Greenlee: Well, you're here now.
Roger: I'm here, I'm here. But you're upset and you need me and I need you more.
Greenlee: What is it? What's wrong?
Roger: I need money.
Greenlee: What?
Roger: I -- I need whatever you can give me right away so I can leave town.
Greenlee: Why?
Roger: Greenlee --
Greenlee: What did you do?
Roger: If I stay, I'll get arrested. And if I get arrested, I'll stay in jail for the rest of my life. I can't handle that, Greenlee.
Greenlee: What the hell happened, Daddy?
Roger: Please, Greenlee, just help me, all right? I -- I really am very desperate. I -- I'm very sorry to have to do this to you, but I just don't have anyone else to turn to.
Greenlee: No, you have to tell me what this is. I'm not some ATM. You can just drive up to for a withdrawal.
Roger: I worked for Proteus. I got -- I got drawn in and I just -- just couldn't, couldn't get myself out. And I didn't even know who he was or -- or, as it turned out, who she was until I saw Vanessa in "Tempo." I --
Greenlee: No, no, just -- just wait a minute. You worked for her?
Roger: That's right. That's right, but I didn't -- I swear to God, I didn't know who Proteus was all this time. I was a pawn, I was used, and I just couldn't get myself out.
Greenlee: Do you -- do you know, have any idea --
Roger: Are you going to give me the money or not, Greenlee?
Greenlee: You unbelievably selfish, disgusting pig. I lost everything, everyone I loved, and now this?
Roger: I'm sorry that I did this to us. I --
Greenlee: Oh, to us? To me, you mean. I can't make anything work for one year with a man, but is it any wonder? Look at my role model.
Roger: Oh, Greenlee, that's --
Greenlee: No, no, really. Look at us. Are we the most pathetic father-daughter team you've ever heard of?
Roger: Don't -- don't do that.
Greenlee: I can't make a relationship work with a man, and you worked for a drug lord you didn't even know?
Roger: Damn it, Greenlee, I need your help!
Greenlee: You can't have it.

Leo: Back off, lady. Back off right now. I'm in no mood for this.
Simone: Yo, loser who spent the night on a park bench -- I have coffee, ok? Pay attention.
Leo: I know who you are, ok?
Simone: I know you do. I met you at SOS.
Leo: No --
Simone: Yes.
Leo: No, no, no.
Simone: Yes, yes, yes.
Leo: No, this isn't about coffee or muffins or being a good Samaritan, and we both know it.
Simone: Did you forget to take your meds when you downed that fifth of rot-gut?
Leo: I need another helpful woman in my life like I need a hole in the head. So thank you very much for the offer, but no thanks. You can beat it. Don't look at me like that. Don't look at me like that. What, you think you're going to rescue me just -- I'm going to let you just because you're pretty?
Simone: What? What, you -- you honestly think this is a pickup?
Leo: Yeah, I've seen this before. I know all the signs.
Simone: Oh, really? You know all the signs? Oh, well, you know what? You're misreading me.
Leo: Oh, so you -- you just see me on the bench this morning, so you thought you'd go get coffee and bring it back?
Simone: Yeah. Oh -- ugh. Oh, here's a question for you. What would anyone possibly think that they could want from you, huh? Look at you. You look like hell, you smell like the inside of a keg, you're obnoxious and deluded, and you think that I'm trying to pick you up? I mean, do I look that desperate?
Leo: Ok, just wait a second, ok?
Simone: I mean, half the town knows that I made a complete mistake by trying to throw myself at an unavailable married man. And then, of course, you know --
Leo: What?
Simone: Almost got a FED and his son bumped off. But if you think that I need some poseur loser dude like yourself to make me feel like -- what, that I fixed something? -- You are dead wrong.
Leo: Just --
Simone: And one other thing, you know? I know you got dumped. And I was just trying to do something nice for someone I don't know -- period.
Leo: Listen, I did not get dumped. I don't get dumped by anybody, ok?
Simone: And, you know, after this little -- what, lovely exchange? -- Obviously, it's no secret why Greenlee Smythe booted you. Who the hell would want to sign up with you anyway?

[Knock on door]
Kendall: Didn't you put the "do not disturb" sign on the door?
Ryan: Considering I wasn't expecting to wake up and have you in my bed, the thought never crossed my mind.
[Knock]
Kendall: So you want to ignore it?
Ryan: What, the knock?
Kendall: The fact that I'm in your bed with you and neither of us has anywhere to be.
Ryan: You speak for yourself.
Kendall: I don't have any plans.
Ryan: Well, you were supposed to go looking for a job today.
Kendall: You are messing with my moment here, Ryan.
[Knock]
Kendall: Will you please just go tell them to go away?
Ryan: And then what?
Kendall: And then we can do something about the fact that I'm in your bed, in your T-shirt, and you're in your bed with me in your boxers.
[Pounding on door]
Kendall: That's it.
[Kendall opens the door and finds Erica standing there]
Erica: Ryan, I'm here to talk to you about your father, and I would like to do that in private.
Kendall: Guess what -- he's all yours. I'll get coffee.
Ryan: Black, no sugar.
Kendall: I remember. I'm not getting any for you, if that's what you're wondering.
Erica: I wouldn't dream of it.

Ryan: I have nothing to say to you about Kendall.
Erica: Ryan, I wouldn't even want to hear it even if you did. I really am here to talk about Chris.
Ryan: How is he?
Erica: The same. The same from what I can tell. I mean, he doesn't seem to want me around very much.
Ryan: And what do you want me to do about that?
Erica: Ryan, have you thought about what will happen to your father after he's released from the hospital?
Ryan: Why are you asking me this?
Erica: I would take him to my house, I would provide round-the-clock care, but he would never allow that.
Ryan: And you want me to talk him into it? Well, he doesn't want to hear anything that I have to say, either, Erica.
Erica: Oh, no, Ryan, that is just a cover.
Ryan: Ooh, I don't know that and neither do you.
Erica: Do you want to help?
Ryan: Well, I want him to be ok. I mean, I hope he gets better. But beyond that, I'm out of it. That's what I want, and I'm sure if he ever talks to you, too, again, he'll tell you that's what he wants, too.
Erica: No, Ryan, that is just not true. Ryan, that man loves you.
Ryan: Oh, come on, Erica. He doesn't even know me. And don't give me that "blood is thicker than water" garbage, either, all right? He did an awesome thing for me -- he took that bullet for me, and I will never forget that. But I'm not all of a sudden going to be his pal, and I'm certainly not going to be his son.
Erica: All right. You leave me no other option.
Ryan: Than?
Erica: Look, I know that you have been floundering for a while.
Ryan: Excuse me -- floundering?
Erica: Since your wife died. You haven't put down roots, you're living in a motel, and -- and now you're even seeing Kendall?
Ryan: I am not seeing Kendall.
Erica: Well, I can help you out of this. I can help you get a fresh start.
Ryan: What are you getting at, "fresh start"?
Erica: Ryan, if you help me help your father, I can make it worth your while.
Ryan: What?
Erica: I'll pay you for your time.
Ryan: Just a damn minute, Erica. Who the hell do you think you are?

David: Well, good news -- the water's receding, the bridge is reopened, and you can turn me in to the police now.
Anna: Oh, David, stop it.
David: Hey, you're the one that implied that you wanted to.
Anna: No.
David: That you were having second thoughts about marrying me.
Anna: What I said and what you think I implied are two totally different things.
David: Well, all of this may have been for nothing anyway.
Anna: What?
David: Well, it's still possible that I won't even be charged with anything and that you won't have to testify against me, which means that all this trouble was for nothing.
Anna: Do I look troubled?
David: No, no. Only every three seconds or so.
Anna: Really?
David: Yeah. Are you miserable?
Anna: No, no, I'm not. Do I look miserable? I'm not miserable.
David: Well, you got this deer-in-the-headlights thing going on, you know?
Anna: I just think that we rushed into this, and I'm wondering whether either of us really understand all the rules.
David: Hmm. All I know is that this was your idea --
Anna: Yeah.
David: So you couldn't be forced to testify against me. Right?
Anna: It's true.
David: But if you felt so inclined, you still can, you know. Which, from where I stand, looks like you have all the power in this relationship.
Anna: You feeling helpless, Hayward?
David: Not yet, Hayward. So -- what are you doing?
Anna: Getting dressed.
David: Please don't tell me you're becoming shy around me now.
Anna: No, I'm hardly shy. I just thought maybe I'd get on with the day.
David: Hmm. Sounds like a great idea. We can take the day off, go pick out some wedding announcements, huh? Oh, I know, I know -- no one's to know about our marriage until after you become chief of police.
Anna: Thank you.
David: You're welcome. I think you looked a lot nicer with no clothes on, by the way.
Anna: Will you do this up for me?

Simone: Oh, don't -- ok, don't try to tell me that you dumped Greenlee first. I had a front-row seat at your little movie of the week last night.
Leo: Why am I even talking to you?
Simone: You know, that's my sentiment exactly. Here.
Leo: Hey.
Simone: Ungrateful jerk.
Leo: What do you got to be like that for?
Simone: You know, I don't know. I'm sitting here in the cold, talking to this recently rejected, stinking, Euro-Trash reject in the freezing cold park, and he's arrogant and -- and confused enough to think that my offer of a cup of Joe and a muffin is a pickup. Oh, yeah, baby. Yeah, you're exactly what I want. You know, your mother screwed up my life, too.
Leo: Oh, don't you ever mention my mother's name to me again after what she did to my fiancée and to my cousins, ok? I actually drank enough last night where I fell asleep without thinking about what a lunatic she was. Thank you for the heads-up this morning.

Greenlee: Do you know what I've been through?
Roger: Do you know how hard it is for me to come to you knowing what you've been through? Please, I'm desperate.
Greenlee: You're sick.
Roger: I have been sick, yes.
Greenlee: Oh, don't you go there with me, Daddy. I mean it. Don't -- you expect to get me to take pity on you.
Roger: Please, Greenlee, I need to leave town.
Greenlee: Do you realize I was kidnapped, drugged, almost drowned?
Roger: Baby, I know that.
Greenlee: You never even called me to ask me how I was when I got back here.
Roger: Because I'm in trouble and I can't help you if I can't help myself.
Greenlee: But you can help yourself to my money.
Roger: I was trapped and I couldn't get out. I can't protect you, I can't protect anybody!
Greenlee: Ugh, you -- you never give a damn about protecting anyone but yourself, Roger. You never looked after me. You never looked after mommy. You took what grandfather gave you and you got involved in some kind of sick drug ring?
Roger: I never looked for that. I never -- I never looked for this.
Greenlee: Oh, but you took it on. All that money was just too much to pass up, wasn't it? And now look at you. You're on the run and you're begging me for petty cash. Have you ever gotten anything in your life that you didn't take or steal? Have you ever given anything to anyone just because you could? No, not so fast. You did give me one thing. You gave me the ability to see clearly that I am and always have been completely and utterly on my own. How could you be so awful?
Greenlee: What the hell?
Officer: Roger Smythe, you're under arrest.
Roger: Please -- please, Greenlee, call me an attorney right away.
Greenlee: What?
Roger: Please! I'm your father, damn it! Help me!
Greenlee: Read him his rights and then take me with you.
Roger: Greenlee!
Greenlee: I want to tell The DA. I'll testify against him. Now.
Officer: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
Roger: Greenlee, please call someone.
Officer: You have the right to have a lawyer present --
Roger: Call anyone! Your grandfather has attorneys. I'll figure out a way to pay for it!
Greenlee: What way? Huh?
Roger: Take your hands off me!
Mateo: Just chill out.
Roger: Greenlee, help me!
Mateo: Don't. You're making it worse.
Roger: Please, help me!

Greenlee: He worked for Proteus, Mateo. He worked for Vanessa. She tried to kill me. I'm his daughter. Mateo: I know.
Greenlee: And then he comes here asking me for help? For money? I have to talk to someone. He won't talk to me. He won't, either. Oh, God. I am so on my own.
Mateo: Listen, if --
Greenlee: I don't have anyone, Mateo. I don't have anyone. How the hell did this happen?

Anna: I think I was getting dressed.
David: Right, the hook. Ahem.
Anna: Yeah. Maybe we should try that again.
David: Which part? The hook or the --
Anna: The hook.
David: Ok.
Anna: You need a shave.
David: Hmm. Oh, please don't tell me you're going to be one of those nagging wives.
Anna: Yeah, I am. And you're going to let yourself go, drink beer, and watch ESPN -- whatever those stupid ballgames are. I don't know -- football, baseball.
David: No, I've never been much for spectator sports myself.
Anna: Oh, wow. So I'm a lucky American wife, then.
David: You could be. Hey. I do -- I do care for you, Anna. You do know that, don't you?
Anna: Sure.
David: Are you really sure?
Anna: Yeah. I know you don't mean me any harm. I know that you need me to help protect you right now and that you're going to help me get whatever it is that I need, just the same as I'm going to do for you. So it's a perfect match. Don't you think?
David: Great. Ok.

Anna: What are you doing? What are you doing?

David: Did you say something?
Anna: No, I just was wondering what we were going to do for the rest of the day.
David: Well, there's -- there's one thing I have to take care of when we get back to Pine Valley.
Anna: There is?
David: Yeah, there is.
Anna: Ok.
David: So I'm going to check us out.
Anna: Yeah.
David: Oh -- that's ok with you, right?
Anna: Why wouldn't it be?
David: Well, I don't know. We're married now, so I have to remind myself to ask you what you want. You know, I mean, that's the way a partnership is supposed to be, right?
Anna: It can be.
David: Oh, that's right, you were married already. That's right. How many times?
Anna: David, be nice.
David: No, no, I just meant that -- well, you know how this goes.
Anna: I know even with a business partnership, you can never take anything for granted. Ok.
David: Anna?
Anna: Yeah?
David: Get the car, will you?
Anna: I can do that.
David: Good.

Simone: What now?
Leo: Well, I went to get some coffee and I realized I didn't have any cash on me, so I went to an ATM machine and it wouldn't give me any money.
Simone: Oh, I hate when that happens.
Leo: Does that happen normally?
Simone: If you don't have any money. You don't balance your checkbook ever, do you?
Leo: Well, I never really had to because whenever I needed money, it was just sort of always there.
Simone: Yeah, sounds like that ran out.
Leo: Listen, I'm sorry about flinging that coffee out of your hand earlier.
Simone: You apologized already. Thank you.
Leo: How lame am I? I mean, I can't even get 50 bucks out of the ATM machine. Oh, my God.
Simone: What?
Leo: Why? Why now? Why, on this day -- why wouldn't I have any money in my account? Simone: What's so important about this day?
Leo: Holy -- she did it.
Simone: Who?
Leo: My mother.
Simone: Your mother has access to your checking account?
Leo: My mother cleaned out my account.

Jack: Ok, let me see if I've got this straight. You say a man came into this room here and threatened you?
Vanessa: Yes, yes, and it was absolutely terrifying. He had very dark, dark hair.
Jack: Tell me -- did you recognize him?
Vanessa: No, I did not, but he said his name was Mateo.
Jack: Mateo? Not a common name. Guard, would you come in here for a second, please? Has Mrs. Cortlandt --
Vanessa: Ah, it's Rosie Wells! It's right there on the chart! Jeez.
Jack: Has she had any visitors today at all?
Guard: No one but you, Sir.
Jack: Are you sure?
Guard: Well, yeah.
Jack: And how long have you been on your shift?
Guard: Since last night.
Vanessa: Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no. She's in on this, too. Come here. They are all trying to conspire against me. And not only that, but this man who was in here -- he called me on the telephone last night. He sounded distant, a very weird voice, and I was absolutely terrified!
Jack: On the phone?
Vanessa: Yes!
Jack: Well, now, that's funny.
Vanessa: What do you mean, "funny"? I don't find it amusing one bit!
Jack: Well, you see, you don't have phone privileges. As a matter of fact, you have no phone.
Vanessa: Oh, the hell I --
[Vanessa reaches for the phone and finds it gone]

Leo: Damn it. What the hell am I going to do? I don't have any money. I don't have anyplace to live.
Simone: You don't have a place to live, either?
Leo: Well, I was living with my fiancée, who is no longer my fiancée.
Simone: Got it. I just got a new place.
Leo: Really?
Simone: Yeah.
Leo: Good for you.
Simone: Yeah. I signed the lease right before I screwed up my life and lost my steady gig, but I'm going to move in anyway. And then, hopefully, I can get a job really fast and pay next month's rent.
Leo: Why are you telling me this?
Simone: Well, you could help me save $500, you know, like maybe load up my car 13 dozen times so I could cancel my movers.
Leo: Uh, yeah, and then what?
Simone: And then you could, you know, spend a night or two at my place till you can figure out what to do next.
Leo: Why would you do that?
Simone: To save $500.
Leo: No, no, no. There's more to it than that.
Simone: Oh, you know, don't even go there, ok? Not again. I don't want you.
Leo: I know. No, no, I know. It's just -- you know, why would you put yourself out?
Simone: I guess I'm stupid, and you're so pathetic. And I could help. And I already have a load in the car. Thanks.
Leo: Oh, you do? Good.
Simone: Yeah. So it's a deal?
Leo: Yeah, yeah, I guess. I can't wait.
Simone: Ok.
Leo: So, just give me the address and I'll meet you over there later.
Simone: Ok.
Simone: There. You know it?
Leo: You're kidding me, right?
Simone: No. Man, I got a great steal on a sublet.
Leo: I used to live here.
Simone: What?
Leo: I lived here with Greenlee. Simone, this is -- this is Greenlee's building.

Greenlee: Sorry I went off there for a minute.
Mateo: Hey, you're entitled.
Greenlee: It's not every day that your father gets arrested in your office for drug trafficking. I'm not even trying to be funny, you know.
Mateo: Yeah, I know. Listen, Greenlee, don't take this the wrong way, ok, but I know exactly what your dad went through. And maybe you could find a way to be -- I don't know -- a little more patient with him.
Greenlee: My father was part of the network that kept your family in danger, Mateo.
Mateo: Yeah, I know. But she -- Vanessa, I mean -- she threatens you. She threatens everything you have, everything you love.
Greenlee: Are you telling me that he stayed on, doing what Proteus told him to do, to protect me?
Mateo: Yeah. He did it for you.

Ryan: I guess I'm just like my father. I can't be bribed and I can't be bought, and I really don't like when people try to manipulate me to get what they want.
Erica: Ryan, I need help. I need help with your father.
Ryan: Look, I know you want me to feel something for him, but I can't. All right? I don't know if I ever will be able to, and I'm sorry that he's blocking you out of his life, but I can't fix that. I'm not going to turn my back on him, all right? You should know that.
Erica: You're not?
Ryan: Not because of who he is but because of -- because of what he did.
Erica: And what do you plan to do?
Ryan: I don't know, Erica. But whatever I choose to do, I'll do it my way. Ok?
Erica: Ok.

Kendall: Time's up. Your hearse is about to turn into a pumpkin out there in the parking lot, Erica.
Erica: Now, just a minute, Kendall. I was speaking with Ryan.
Ryan: Actually, I'm done talking about this for today, Erica. I mean it.
Kendall: You heard the man.
[Erica gives Kendall a dirty look]
Kendall: Ooh, scary.

Kendall: Big guy, that was awesome! You rock! What is it, Ryan? What just happened?

Greenlee: My father's been through hell. To answer to that lunatic day and night?
Mateo: He couldn't tell you.
Greenlee: He was afraid for his life, for mine.
Mateo: Listen, you know, you might want to get that lawyer like he wanted, all right?
Greenlee: He needs more than that. You know, she did this. Vanessa caused all of this, and there's no way to pay her back, is there? How do you pay back someone who doesn't have any feelings?

[Vanessa screams]
[Vanessa screams]

Erica: Jack.
Jack: What are you doing here, pacing in public in the park? That can't be a good sign. And why aren't we meeting at your office, for Pete's sake?
Erica: Jack, I have got to talk to you, and no one else has to know about this.
Jack: Ok, ok. I got here as soon as I could.
Erica: How much did you pay Kendall to get her to leave town?
Jack: Ah, you heard about that. Well, evidently not enough because I understand she's still here.
Erica: Well, what would it take to get rid of her permanently?

Ryan: It just kind of hit me before you came back here. I was talking to your mother and I said that I was just like my father, just like Chris.
Kendall: And?
Ryan: And it just kind of came out. When I was growing up, I swore I would never be like my old man. But with Chris --
Kendall: That's not so bad, is it?
