ALL MY CHILDREN

MAY 13, 1999

Ryan: Breaking glasses, very nice. Very impressive. Who does that remind you of? We're not open!
Trevor: Well, good. I was hoping I'd grab you before the rush hit.
Ryan: Oh, Trevor. What's up?
Trevor: You got a couple minutes? I just got some paperwork to go over with you.
Ryan: Paperwork? More? I thought I signed everything three times for that judge.
Trevor: No, no, no. That's dead and gone. This is something different. This is -- this is from Gillian.

Hayley: Hi.
Liza: Hi.
Hayley: Are you up for visitors?
Liza: Yeah, come on in.
Hayley: Hello there.
Liza: Colby, this is Hayley.
Hayley: Hello, Colby. We've waited so long to meet you.
Liza: You don't have to whisper. I want her to get used to everybody's voice. She's going to have to nap through chaos if I take her to the station.
Hayley: Are you going to do that?
Liza: I don't know. Colby may not like working.
Hayley: Oh, Liza, she's absolutely gorgeous.
Liza: Look at her hands.
Hayley: Oh, they're perfect. Just perfect. Perfect fingers. Not to mention the rest of her. I am so happy for you. I thought I'd be bringing you a wedding present today, but it turns out you were mommy's present instead.
Liza: Well, unwrapping her was a little bit more difficult, but she's healthy and she's happy and -- boy, I'll tell you, she's a gift. But I guess I should open that, huh?
Hayley: Oh, yes. I'm sorry. Let me help you. You've got your hands full.
Liza: Oh, thank you very much.
Hayley: Ta-da.
Liza: Oh, look. It's your first piece of jewelry.
Hayley: I had it engraved with her birth date on the back.
Liza: Oh. I love it. I just love it. Lookie here. She's going to love it when she gets older, too. Do you want to hold her?
Hayley: Really? I didn't want to seem too grabby, but I washed my hands and everything.
Liza: No, grab away.
Hayley: Thank you. Oh. Does anything smell sweeter?
Liza: No. She's my dream come true.
Hayley: I can see why. I'm going to give Mateo one just like her.

Mateo: No. Oh, look at that. I think you have one more. Look at that. He beat me again. This is not fair. You're amazing.
Raquel: You're getting so good, mijo.
Max: Let's draw now.
Mateo: Ok. Let's draw.
Kelly: Time for your medication, Mrs. Santos.
Raquel: Thank you, Kelly.
Kelly: I called the pharmacy to refill your prescription. You'll need it tonight. You only have two doses left.
Mateo: I'll go now and get it, ok?
Max: No. Please stay, daddy.
Mateo: Why don't you come with me?
Max: But I want to make pictures with you.
Kelly: I can pick up the medicine, Mr. Santos, as long as you'll be here, if you're comfortable with that.
Raquel: Well, it's really up to my -- to Mateo.
Max: Please, Daddy, stay.
Raquel: Daddy has to work, Max.
Mateo: No, it's ok.
Nurse Kelly will pick up the medicine, right? I was thinking about hanging out anyway.
Raquel: You were?
Mateo: Yeah.
Max: Yes! I'll make you a picture!
Mateo: All right.
Raquel: Ok, but put away the checkers first, Max.
Mateo: Oh, here. Thanks, Kelly. And if you don't mind, could you pick up some ice cream on the way back?
Kelly: Rocky road?
Mateo: Yeah, exactly. Thanks.
Kelly: See you in a bit.
Raquel: Bye.
Raquel: Well -- you know, Max -- Max tries to imitate you.
Mateo: He does a good job of it, too.
Raquel: Yeah. He wants to be just like you, and he is in so many ways. And now that you can teach him to draw and throw a baseball -- you've been so generous to us, Mateo, giving us all this time that you don't really have.
Mateo: I love spending time with Max. But this -- this concerns me, Raquel.
Raquel: I know. Me, too. Max got upset when he saw you with Hayley. I'm sorry he scribbled on her face. I told him not to. I told him it wasn't nice.
Mateo: It's not so much the scribbling -- he's got to know that love Hayley.
Raquel: Are you angry with him?
Mateo: No, I'm not angry with him, but -- she's going to be my wife, and you signed the divorce papers. I mean --
Raquel: I know, but that's a lot for him to take in.
Mateo: He knows I live with Hayley, ok, like married people. I don't want him to be confused.
Raquel: He's still adjusting, Teo, to me being laid up like this and to this new apartment.
Mateo: All I'm saying is that maybe we have to make the new living arrangements clearer for him, because I agreed not to tell him about the divorce because you were in the hospital, all right? But this isn't right, and I'm not going to ignore it. We have to tell him about the divorce.
Raquel: No -- oh. No, Teo, please not yet. Oh.

Adam: Erica, this is our chance. If we work together, we can give Hayward exactly what he deserves.

[Doorbell rings]

Erica: I don't believe it. The doctor's making a house call.
Adam: It's Hayward?

[Ring]

Adam: My God, he's relentless.
Erica: And he's arrogant if he thinks that flowers are going to help. Listen to me -- I say we take care of him right now. Whatever you do to him, I swear it will be self-defense.
Adam: No, Erica, slow down. You know how volatile he is. We need a plan.
Erica: You just said that this was our chance. Will you make up your mind? I say Dr. David Hayward is just about to fall into the wrong hands.
Adam: No, no, not yet. Not yet. Let's find out what he wants. Buy us some time. Be charming. But don't let him know you're on to him.
Erica: You don't ask much, do you?

[Ring]

Adam: Erica -- Erica, if you confront Hayward, he's going to take that DNA. File straight to Liza and prove that Jake is not the baby's father, that I am the baby's father, and I will lose Liza and my baby daughter. Erica: And I should lose sleep over that?
Erica: Let go of me.
Adam: Erica, stop and think. If he wins, any chance my daughter might have for a normal life is gone. It will be totally gone. She'll have parents that are estranged.
Erica: Well, that's your doing, Adam.
Adam: But I know that I can make it right. I know that.
Erica: You think that you can do anything, anything at all, including father a baby without the mother's choice.
Adam: I know I can make Liza understand that, but not with Hayward hovering about, threatening to put his spin on it.
Erica: And what is your spin, Adam?
Adam: I love her -- beyond reason. And giving Liza my child was my way of completing that love.
Erica: Giving? You didn't even give her a choice.
Adam: But look how it's turning out. We love Colby. We adore her. She's bringing us closer together. Liza's happier than I've ever seen her before in her life, and I want to protect that. I will do anything to protect that so our little girl can grow up feeling totally safe.
Erica: Oh, just like Hayley and Skye. Adam, your children think you're nothing but a self-centered, manipulative control freak, and that's when they're feeling generous.
Adam: Maybe this would be a time that I could be a real father right from the start. If you'll help me.
David: Erica, are you all right?

[Telephone rings]

Adam: No, no, that'll be Hayward. Look, if you won't do this for my sake, if you won't do it for the sake of my innocent child, then do it for yourself, for God's sake. That man is not building a life. He wants to destroy as many people as he possibly can. Look what he did to enchantment, to your career, to your face. Erica: I look at that every day.

[Ring]

Adam: Hayward deserves something just as devastating, Erica. Something carefully thought out. Are you with me?
Erica: I don't need your help to punish David.
Adam: Are you sure? If you do something rash, if you threaten him, he can hurt you again.

[Ring]

Adam: Maybe even worse this time.
Erica: David. I thought I heard someone at the door.
David: I was just about to leave. I didn't know that you were home.
Erica: Yes, I was. I was just out back with Adam. Adam, look who's here.

Trevor: Sit on it, think about it for a couple of days. That's what I told Gillian. You know, separation isn't the only answer. There are other solutions to this.
Ryan: Hey, Gillian, asked for it, right? I mean, she hired you. Trevor: Well, people change their minds. They rip up papers like this every day. Gillian, she could flip.
Ryan: But she hasn't. Trevor: Well, Ryan, she thinks you're the one that wants this divorce. That's right, isn't it? Hey, you do have a lawyer, don't you? I mean, because you owe it to yourself to run this by an attorney.
Ryan: I don't really think I need a lawyer. You say this is standard, and I can't really spring for one right now.
Trevor: All right, I'll tell you what -- I'll buy you the time. I'll tell Gillian that you need to look over the terms. She's not going to object to that.
Ryan: No. Thank you, but no, you don't have to tell her that. I've jerked her around enough already. If she's ready, I'm ready.
Trevor: Ok.
Ryan: You can give them back to her today. We're done. Trevor: You keep one copy. I'll give you the final copy when they're processed.

Hayley: I can't wait to hold my own baby in my arms, to love a little person just like you. There you go.
Liza: Well, I hope you won't have to wait too long.
Hayley: Well, actually, we're already hoping --
Liza: You're pregnant?
Hayley: Almost.
Liza: Oh, Hayley, there is no almost.
Hayley: I'm 23 hours late. And I know my body, and I feel different. Don't say anything to Adam yet, though. I want to take the test first, and I want to be there to see his face when he hears he's going to be a grandpa.
Liza: Me, too.
Hayley: It's funny, you know. When I was a child, the last thing I ever wanted to be was a parent.
Liza: Me, either.
Hayley: And now I drool when I look at strollers and highchairs, and I daydream about Christmas morning. You know? And afternoons at the beach and all the, you know, the simple stuff like going to the grocery store, raking leaves. I want those moments to be good. I want to make them as good as they possibly can be.
Liza: You will.
Hayley: I guess just being with Mateo, you know, seeing what a terrific father he already is.
Liza: Well, I can't say that that was the case with Adam. But it sure has been nice seeing him change for Colby. It makes me really believe that I can do it, too.
Hayley: Oh. I should go, let you get your rest. I got to prepare for S.O.S. Tonight.
Liza: Oh, hey, congratulations. I heard you got great raves.
Hayley: Yeah. Really, it took right off, you know? It was something. I was just glad Mateo finally showed up.
Liza: He wasn't there?
Hayley: Well, he got stuck. He had to take care of Raquel until they could get a nurse. And so I had just about given up hope of him showing up, and before the end of the night, there he was, smiling across the room at me.
Liza: Wow. You have a new home and a new club, and hopefully good news on the way.
Hayley: I'll tell you, you know, it took us a while, but things are finally starting to go our way.

Mateo: Raquel, come on, the doctor said not to move around like that.
Raquel: Ooh. I couldn't help it. I know how much this will hurt Max.
Mateo: I'll be gentle with him, ok? He knows how much we love him.
Raquel: Yeah, but he doesn't want to hear we're getting a divorce. Look, he still talks about the three of us being a family. It's been his dream ever since he was a baby.
Mateo: I know you guys will find a new dream.
Raquel: Maybe we will. But don't take this -- don't take this one away from him now. Not now, not when I -- when I can't even hold him.
Mateo: I can hold him.
Raquel: But you can't be here every night, Teo.
Mateo: The longer we wait, the harder it's going to be for Max to adjust.
Raquel: You think it will be easy for him now when I can't even move? I can't walk yet. We just moved into this new place. He doesn't feel safe yet.
Mateo: He won't feel safe until we're honest with him. Raquel: What do you mean by that?
Mateo: I talked to Edmund. He said not to give Max false hope.
Raquel: You spoke to Edmund about this?
Mateo: You know, he had to deal with the same thing with Sam and Maddie about telling them why Maria wasn't there.
Raquel: But they're so much younger. I don't think they really understood what it meant.
Mateo: They understood that she was gone. And nothing else could explain why their mother wasn't there. He had to tell them that she was dead.
Raquel: No. It must have been so hard for them.
Mateo: It was. But they got through it with a lot of love from their dad.
Raquel: But, Teo, this is totally different. Maria doesn't live across the hall.
Mateo: I'm going to marry Hayley.
Raquel: You going to tell Max about that, too?
Mateo: I have to. I want him in my wedding. But first he's got to know about our divorce.
Raquel: Do you already have a date?
Mateo: No. But we want to do it as soon as possible.
Raquel: Why? Why the big rush? Can't you just hold off for a few months?
Mateo: Not if Hayley's pregnant.
Raquel: If Hayley's what? I thought she couldn't have children.
Mateo: Yeah, she had a medical condition, but it's all cleared up now, and we've been given the green light to go ahead and start our own -- our own family.
Raquel: So now Max has to share you with Hayley and the baby.
Mateo: He's going to love being a big brother.
Raquel: I remember when I found out that I was pregnant, and I wanted so terribly to tell you and have you put your hands on me and feel the baby growing inside of me. But I kept it all inside, Mateo. All the memories, too. His first tooth, his first step, his first word. Do you know he called me Dada?
Mateo: I'm sorry I missed all that.
Raquel: Yeah, I guess we're out of chances.
Mateo: I'm sorry I keep hurting you like this.
Raquel: You don't mean to.
Mateo: I know, but it happens. It keeps -- it keeps on happening. I just want u to be happy -- without me.
Raquel: I know. And it's the hardest part.
Mateo: Shh.

Hayley: How's it going, Ry?
Ryan: Going good. Good. The food delivery guy came, and I've taken a bunch of reservations for tonight.
Hayley: More good news. I'm on a roll.
Ryan: Oh, is that right? And what makes you so happy?
Hayley: Life and all its endless possibilities.
Ryan: Oh, yeah?
Hayley: Mm-hmm.
Ryan: Usually I need something just a little bit more specific than that.
Hayley: Well, I just saw Liza's baby. How's that?
Ryan: Well, it seems to be working for you.
Hayley: Oh, when I held that baby in my arms, I realized how much I wanted one of my own.
Ryan: It's a lot of responsibility.
Hayley: You know, I thought about that, and I am ready. I really am. I'm not going to be the kind of mother I had.
Ryan: I'm so happy that you're so sure about that.
Hayley: So, what about Gillian?
Ryan: What about Gillian?
Hayley: What happened here?
Ryan: Well, you just missed your uncle Trevor. He came by to bring divorce papers from Gillian.
Hayley: No. Ryan, come on, she loves you.
Ryan: You can't change this, Hayley.
Hayley: Let me talk to her.
Ryan: No. No. You've got to concentrate on you and Mateo and all these good things that are happening to you two.
Hayley: I have room for you both, and I always will.
Ryan: I appreciate that, but I'm not going to let this bring you two down, ok? Gillian and I never had a chance.
Hayley: I'm sorry.
Ryan: So am I. However, you and I are going to toast to you and to your future baby Santos. Yes, indeed. A little for you, a little for me. To life.
Hayley: L'chayim.

Erica: Come in, David.
David: Well, it looks like I'm interrupting something.
Erica: Does it? Well, no. I mean, Adam just stopped by to see how I was recuperating. He's so concerned about my face. And isn't it dear of him to make time for me when he's got Liza and her baby in the hospital?
David: Yes, that is very thoughtful of him. But I'm sure he's anxious to get back to them.
Adam: Well, actually, they're fine. Liza was napping. I just got here.
Erica: Oh, now, Adam, you don't need to baby-sit for me, not when you have a real live infant in the hospital waiting for you. You don't want Jake martin to get a head start, now, do you?
Adam: That's hardly the point, is it?
Erica: All right. Well, then, you just be sure that you give Colby a kiss from me. Oh, d let her fall asleep on your chest. Babies love that. Well, what's wrong, daddy? Aren't you anxious to get going?
David: Well, Adam, I thought you were a devoted father.
Erica: Oh, he is. This is just for my benefit. Adam -- Adam, really, you can go. I'm absolutely all right.
Adam: Are you sure?
Erica: Well, of course I'm sure. Dr. Hayward saved my life, and now he's looking after my face. You don't have to worry.
Adam: Well, I hope not.
Erica: Bye.
Adam: Um -- damn!
Erica: Well, now that we're alone, David, what are you doing here?
David: Well, you left without me last night, and you didn't show up at my office this morning, so -- I have to bathe your face, change your dressing.
Erica: And the flowers?
David: I thought that you could use some cheering up. To be honest, you looked a little shaky last night. I was worried about a relapse.
Erica: How very observant of you. I was very close to falling apart.
David: I knew it.
Erica: Things have changed since then. Now I feel very optimistic.
David: Why? What's changed?

Raquel: It's going to be rough on Max when he finds out that you're having another child. He'll feel replaced.
Mateo: I'm not going to let that happen, I promise.
Raquel: You might not be able to stop it.
Mateo: He's my first-born, Raquel. He's my son. I don't care how many kids Hayley and I have, I'll never -- I'll never stop loving him.
Raquel: I understand that, but I don't know if max will, at least not right away. Even children who have stable lives and the love of both parents, they feel threatened when a new baby arrives. I know I did when my little brother came home. I felt pushed aside, like my life had ended.
Mateo: But you learned to love him. I mean, you got over it, right?
Raquel: Yeah, eventually. But for years, I begged my parents to take him back to the hospital and bring me a cat instead.
Mateo: But you survived.
Raquel: Yeah.
Mateo: And I know Max is not going to like any of this, but I want him to learn to trust me and know that I'm not going to lie to him, no matter what, even if it's something that he doesn't want to hear.
Raquel: That's a lot for a boy his age. Mateo, you haven't spent a lot of time with children. Even the smallest things can hurt them so deeply, make them feel unloved. That's why I gave Sammy and Max a present at Maddie's birthday.
Mateo: But you can't -- you can't make their life perfect, Raquel. Neither can I. The best we can do is help them deal with whatever happens, good or bad. And if we don't do that, we'll never move forward. It's just going to cause a lot of pain for everyone.
Max: What's painful? Why is Mommy crying?
Raquel: Daddy will tell you, mijo.

Ryan: You want another tall one, partner?
Hayley: No, thanks. Never been a big milk drinker. Guess I was always too busy eating the cookies.
Ryan: Well, you know you got to keep drinking your milk if you want your baby's bones to be strong.
Hayley: Is this what it's going to be like for the next nine months? Nag, nag, nag.
Ryan: Nine months.
Hayley: You never know.
Ryan: Where you going?
Hayley: Nature calls.
Ryan: Ah. Aha. I love seeing you this happy.

[Music plays]

Ryan: Hayley? Hey. You look like you're about to cry. That meeting is going to start...
Ryan: Hey, hey. Hayley, Hayley, what's wrong? You were over the moon just a second ago.
Hayley: I was so sure I was pregnant.
Ryan: And you're not?
Hayley: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lose it like that. I'm sorry.
Ryan: No, no, don't worry. Don't worry. You don't need to apologize. This is very difficult. This is a very tough break.
Hayley: Yeah, you know.
Ryan: And you're going to have other chances, right? You're going to keep on trying, right?
Hayley: I don't want to keep trying. I want it to happen now, right now.
Ryan: Why? I mean, I know that's a dumb question, but come on, you guys have so much more time together,
Hayley. And technically, you're not even married yet, right? Maybe you just need a little bit of time together, that's all.
Hayley: I can't do that.
Ryan: Why not?
Hayley: Because I can't. Because I can't. Because I am tired of having my life on hold, and he has this other wife that I never knew about, and he was in love with her first, and they have a son, and I cannot compete with that.
Ryan: You don't need to compete with that. Mateo loves you.
Hayley: I know that. I know. It just -- it came out wrong.
Ryan: Did it? I mean, this all seems a little desperate.
Hayley: I want to have a baby with the man I love. What is so wrong with that?
Ryan: Nothing is wrong with that, nothing. It's just, why now? Unless maybe Mateo is so caught up with Max --
Hayley: That's not it!

Mateo: Max, listen -- your mommy and I love you very much, and that'll never change, no matter what happens or where you live, ok? We're still going to love you the same way. And you know who else loves you?
Max: Lots of people.
Mateo: Yes, lots of people. Hayley loves you. And I love Hayley. But you already know that. And when a man and a woman love each other and they want to be together, they get married.
Max: You can't marry Hayley, you already married Mommy.
Raquel: Mateo, maybe we should get into this later.
Mateo: Wait, wait. Listen, you know that your mommy and I haven't seen each other for a lot of years. Before you were born up until now that you went to Pine Valley. We were apart all those years, Max.
Max: Well, you could be together now.
Mateo: No, we can't. We can't, buddy. I love you with all my heart, and so does your mommy. Ok? But we can't live together. I love you, and we're going to have a wonderful life, ok? But it's not going to be the way you thought. Mommy and I are getting a divorce.
Max: No!

Erica I woke up to this glorious sunshiny day, and I just decided I couldn't stand to hide myself inside any longer. No, want to go out and stand in the sun myself. I want to let my own light shine. And so I got up and I stretched and I realized, my body is fine again.
David: It should be.
Erica: I've got my strength back, and that is liberating.
David: Cardiac patients often experience a sense of rebirth.
Erica: That's exactly what it is. My mother used to say -- she used to say, "what doesn't kill you will make you stronger." And that's exactly how I feel about this accident now.
David: That's wonderful, Erica. M happy to hear that you've gotten a handle on it.
Erica: Oh, I have. I'm ready to take on anything that gets in my way. And I do mean anything.

Adam: Barry, Adam. Have you found anything on David Hayward yet? I know he covers his tracks. He lives underground. Well, keep looking. Get me something I can use. The clock is ticking. Ah, what have we here?
Nurse: Hello, Mr. Chandler. Little Colby just had a bath. First one her Mommy's ever given her.
Adam: Ah. I trust they both survived it.
Nurse: There was a lot of splashing. Mom needed a new nightgown. But Colby is spotless.
Adam: Will Liza be back soon?
Nurse: Any minute. I'll just wait with Colby until she gets here.
Adam: I'd love to spend some time alone with my -- with the baby, if I could.
Nurse: I'll be right outside if you need me.
Adam: Thank you. Hi. Everything's all right now. Your father's here. Oh. Hi. I love you, Colby. Oh, yes. You know, Stuart was right. You look exactly like we did when we were babies. I never could have figured that someone who looked as much like me as you do could be so beautiful. Thank God you got a lot of your mother in you. You're beautiful. Yes. Here, you want some of this? Here. No, you don't want that. Here, how about this? Hold on to that. That hand is always going to be there for you anytime you need it. I'm going to tell you something that I can't tell anyone else. You're my flesh and blood. You're my little girl. And I'm going to give you everything you need. Honest. Yes. We're going to have the most wonderful life together, you and me and your mom. We're going to have the kind of life that other people just dream about. Yeah. And you're the center of it all. You made it all possible. That's true. They took the -- they took my other children away from me. No one's going to take you away. No, sir, not my Colby. Not my -- my angel. Not my future. No one's going to take you away from me, I swear. No one.

Ryan: Ok.
Hayley: And you don't even want to be married, much less have children. So what the hell do you know about it?
Ryan: I'm sorry.
Hayley: No, I'm sorry. I know that's not true. I know how much you love Gillian, and I'm sorry. It's just Raquel -- every time I turn around, she is in my face, you know?
Ryan: I get it.
Man: Hey.
Ryan: Hey.
Man: Where do you folks want this hooch?
Ryan: Just leave it right there.
Man: Thanks. Ok, so who gets the damages?
Hayley: I do. Oh, Ryan, I forgot -- Mateo and I both have to sign these checks, and he's at Raquel's. Could you take this check over there and make sure he signs it, please, so I can pay this guy?
Ryan: No problem.
Hayley: Listen, can we -- can we drop this check off at your office so you don't have to hang around here?
Man: Oh, sure. Sure. And I've got another load out on the truck. That was eight cases, right?
Ryan: Yeah, yeah. You need anything else while I'm gone?
Hayley: A meeting.
Ryan: You lock up and go. I'll be back in lots of time.
Hayley: Thank you, Ryan.
Ryan: Hey, you're forgiven. Hayley: Thanks, Ryan.

Max: This is all Hayley's fault. She messed up everything.
Raquel: No, mijo, that's not true.
Max: Yes, it is. I want her to go away. I hate her, and I hate you, too.
Raquel: Max!
Mateo: Max --
Raquel: Max, come back.
Mateo: I'll be right back.
Raquel: Max.

Adam: How long have you been standing there?
Liza: I don't want you to be embarrassed. I love seeing the two of you together.
Adam: I didn't hear you come in.
Liza: Well, I didn't want to ruin a perfect father-daughter moment. Do you know how sweet the two of you look together?
Adam: Don't make me blush.
Liza: Is there room in that hug for me?
Adam: Oh, I think so. I think so. Plenty of room. Here's your mommy. Remember her?
Liza: Hello. Hello, precious.
Adam: Oh.

David: You do seem in better spirits today, Erica. Your energy is amazing.
Erica: Well, Dr. Hayward, is that a compliment?
David: An observation and a compliment. So, did Adam have anything to do with this sudden change of outlook?
Erica: Why do you ask?
David: When I saw you speaking with him last night at the hospital, it seemed very serious.
Erica: Well, Adam doesn't have many light moments.
David: Perhaps not. But he also seemed preoccupied when I arrived here today.
Erica: Did he?
David: Mm-hmm. So what's going on between you two?
Erica: Well, we're not having an affair, if that's what you're implying. Adam and I have loathed each other for years.
David: Erica, I'm only asking these questions because I don't want to see Adam -- or anyone else, for that matter -- interfere with your progress.
Erica: Neither do I. So let's not discuss Adam. Let's talk about my face.
David: You have questions about your treatment?
Erica: You remember how my face got mangled, don't you, doctor? In that deadly car accident? Let's talk about that. Let's talk about all of it.
