ALL MY CHILDREN

MAY 31, 2000

Ryan: Hey.
Gillian: Hey.
Ryan: How was the swim?
Gillian: It was ok. But every time I went underwater, I saw his face.
Ryan: Guy?
Gillian: God, I can't believe there's a dead body in the closet.
Ryan: Gillian, listen to me -- there's nothing to be afraid of, ok? Certainly not from him.
Gillian: Do you still think that there was somebody behind this whole thing?
Ryan: You know what? If there was, believe me, we will get to the bottom of it.
Gillian: Can I ask you a question?
Ryan: Yeah. Sure. Gillian: How long does it take before composting begins?
Ryan: Composting? I'm ally not that big on gardening. I don't --
Gillian: No, no, no, no. I mean, you know, like --
Ryan: Oh, oh, oh, oh, you mean decomposing.
Gillian: Yeah, yeah.
Ryan: Oh. I don't know. I'm not sure. But I know in this heat, it's not going to take too long.
Gillian: Ryan, this is really -- this is so horrible.
Ryan: I know it is, I know it is. But until Alex gives us the ok, I mean, what are we supposed to do?
Gillian: Thank you so much, for everything. You know, I mean, in this situation.

[Telephone rings]

Gillian: Hello? Edmund! Edmund, are you ok?
Edmund: I'm fine, Gillian. I'm fine, really. Alex tells me that we left you with your hands full.
Gillian: Yeah, listen, don't worry about us. We've been so worried about you. How's Alex?
Edmund: Listen, we'll tell you everything when we get back to Pine Valley, ok? Right now, we're staying at her mom's place in Bristol.
Gillian: She told you about Guy, right?
Edmund: Yeah. Where is he?
Gillian: Um, he's in the closet. Ryan helped me move him.
Edmund: Ok, good. Listen, it'll be all over soon, ok?

Woman: Darling! Oh. You had a nice, long nap. Are you feeling better? Alex: Yes, I feel much better now. Who's he talking to?
Woman: Uh, Gillian? He seems to be checking up on her.
Alex: Well, yes. I feel so terrible, poor thing. I left her there to deal with a body.
Woman: When I think that you had to defend yourself against -- who was it, Guy?
Edmund: Yeah. Gillian sends her love.
Alex: How is she? Is everything all right?
Edmund: Yeah, she's ok. Ryan helped her with the body, and I told her to report everything to the police. Alex, when we get home, we've got some explaining to do.

Adam: I have to go. Junior: Hi, Dad.
Adam: Hi, Junior.
Junior: You look tired.
Adam: Oh, I'm fine.
Hayley: Dad, wait.
Junior: How did that crown get on Uncle Stuart's tombstone?
Adam: Marian must have left it.
Hayley: Their wedding was so beautiful.
Adam: I didn't come here to reminisce.
Junior: Dad, wait.

Tad: How? How? I'll bite. I can't -- what -- how the hell did you find me?
Dixie: Well, your brother has connections.
Tad: Adrian?
Dixie: Yeah. He traced your credit card receipts. I got on a plane to Las Vegas. Here I am.
Tad: Here you are.
Dixie: Did you find what you're looking for?
Tad: She found me.

Marilyn: You really are the king.
Tad: Marilyn.
Dixie: "The King"?
Tad: Never mind. I would like to introduce my wife. This is Dixie.
Dixie: Hello.
Marilyn: Hello. Nice to meet you, Mrs. Presley.

Tad: Long story. I'll explain later.
Dixie: You'd better. Come on, come out to the car. I got something to show you.

[Dixie laughs]

Stuart: Marilyn, you heard a car pull in?
Marilyn: Yeah, an actual customer. You want to go see if she wants anything?
Stuart: Yeah, sure.

[Dixie giggles]

Tad: Mine, mine, mine, mine.

Stuart: Hello?
Esther: There's nobody here, Stuart. Let's go back to the trailer.
Stuart: You said there was a lady customer?
Marilyn: Oh, I think she's busy with her husband, if you know what I mean.
Stuart: You mean there were two customers?
Judd: Where? We'll tie them down and make them stay.
Marilyn: Yeah, that'd be the only way they'd eat in this hole.
Judd: Marilyn. Mary Lynne, now watch your mouth.
Stuart: I like this place. It's not real fancy, but it's got everything we need.
Judd: Thank you, Stuart. At least someone has a sensitive bone in their body around here.
Marilyn: I'll go get ready for that dinner rush you're expecting.
Judd: Hmm, yeah. Hey, now, look, now both you folks, you don't have to stick around if you don't want to.
Stuart: Could I use the kitchen for a while? I would like to make something special for Esther, and I can't do much at the trailer.
Judd: Sure. Help yourselves.
Stuart: Good. I can make some extra, if you're hungry.
Judd: What's on the menu?
Stuart: Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
Judd: Great. Just give me a holler when you need me.
Stuart: Ok.

Esther: Stuart, what made you think of that?
Stuart: What?
Esther: Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
Stuart: Oh, uh -- I don't know. It just sounded like something I should like. Was that one of my favorites?
Esther: No. Not really.
Stuart: Oh. Well, I can make something else, if you want.
Esther: No, no. It's fine.
Stuart: Ok.

Tad: Something we said?
Marilyn: It's just the cook.
Tad: What's he making?
Marilyn: Grilled cheese sandwiches. You interested?
Tad: Wonderful.
Dixie: Sure. Definitely. Thank you.
Marilyn: I'll let him know.

Dixie: Well, I have a little air mail for you.
Tad: From the boys.
Dixie: Yeah.
It's a limerick written by Junior and Jamie themselves.
Tad: "There once was a dad named Tad
who left home and left everyone sad
we waited and waited
no Dad at home we sure hated
and we loved him
and never were bad
again."
Dixie: There's a little structural license there at the end, you know.
Tad: Oh, man. Sorry.
Dixie: No, it's ok. Look, I told them that you're not mad at them, that you're just trying to have some time to yourself to think things through.
Tad: I should've been there to tell them.
Dixie: No, it's ok. Well, yeah, you probably should have been, but that's why you have me, hmm?
Tad: You have no idea. 10 Minutes before you showed up, I left you a message on the phone saying how much I missed you and how I wanted to come home, try to undo some of the mistake matter of fact, you know Marilyn, the girl you just met?
Dixie: Yeah?
Tad: She was telling me about this guy that's staying here, right? He showed up with his wife. Turns out he's completely lost his memory. Can't even remember if he's crazy about her.
Dixie: That's sad.
Tad: Talented, too. He drew this. Just left it there on the counter. Look.
Dixie: It's good. It's very sweet.
Tad: It's more than that. That's by a man that knows what's -- that it's what's in the heart that's what's important.
Dixie: That's a wise man.
Tad: You're in my heart. Don't ever forget it.
Dixie: Ok. I won't.

Junior: Can I just say something? I'm sorry I asked you to take me flying the other night. It was a stupid idea.
Adam: It wasn't stupid, Junior.
It was -- I just can't. I don't have time. I --
Junior: I know you're busy, but tomorrow there's field day at school and I was wondering maybe if you could come.
Adam: No, I can't, I can't.
Hayley: Dad, don't do this.
Adam: Why don't you make your brother understand.
Hayley: No. Why don't you make him understand.
Junior: I was wondering -- maybe you and I could go fishing this summer.
Adam: Junior, you're not listening to me.
Mateo: Junior, come on.
Adam: No, I'm leaving.
Mateo: No, no, I think we should go. Come on.

Adam: Don't start with me.
Hayley: How could you do that to your own son?

Gillian: I am so glad Edmund said we could call the police and report the body.
Ryan: I think I should go down there personally and talk to Derek in private.
Gillian: You would really do that? You would go there and tell him about the dead horse trainer?
Ryan: Well, I think this is going to take a little finessing, Gillian. I don't want us to be arrested for murder.
Gillian: Ryan, listen -- I promise you, I'm not going to let you get into trouble over this. I'm not going to let you go to jail again like last time.
Ryan: Why don't you, you know, go get dressed. Ok? Go on. Everything's going to be ok, Gillian, I promise.
Gillian: Ok.

[Knock on door]

Ryan: Ahem.

[Knock]

Ryan: Greenlee.
Greenlee: Thank God you're all right.
Ryan: Yes, of course I'm all right. Why wouldn't I be?
Greenlee: Well, after Gillian called last night, you ran out of the loft like it was on fire. I was worried sick.
Ryan: You know, you really probably shouldn't be here right now.
Greenlee: What was the emergency? Was it Jake? I mean, he's in Chechnya, right, risking his life? It's really dangerous over there, isn't it -- like, land mines and snipers and --

Gillian: Greenlee.
Greenlee: Gillian. I had to make sure you were ok.
Gillian: Why?
Greenlee: I was at Ryan's loft last night when you called and asked for help. What happened?
Gillian: Oh. Oh, no, everything is fine now, but thank you for your concern.
Ryan: I should go and do that errand.
Gillian: You want me to come with you to do that errand?
Ryan: Uh, no, no, no. You stay here, ok? You going to be all right?
Greenlee: I'll hang with Gillian. That's ok, isn't it?

Gillian: Yeah listen, I'll make sure she's gone when you get back so we can get rid of you-know-who.
Ryan: Yeah.

Greenlee: What is going on?
Ryan: Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I'll see you later, ok?
Greenlee: Later.

[Door closes]

Greenlee: So, what happened here last night?
Gillian: Greenlee, it's private.
Greenlee: Between sisters? I'm not leaving until you tell me everything.

Woman: Well, I have an idea, but I need both of you to help me.
Alex: Oh, no. What?
Woman: Well, I'm going to make you a quart of your favorite tea, but I need some mint from the garden.
Alex: Oh, and you want us to get it for you?
Woman: Well, would you? You know, I don't like the dark.
Alex: Poor thing. You know, she always pretends to be such a scared little rabbit. All right, we'll go.
Edmund: All right.
Alex: Come on, I want you to help me. We'll be right back.
Edmund: Pick some tea.
Woman: Now bring me a big, big bunch, all right?
Alex: All right.

Woman: Have you cleaned up that mess in the states yet? Well, if you leave it too late, it'll be impossible to do it. I don't care what you have to do. And if anyone gets in your way, take care of it. Dimitri's all right. He's alive and well. Don't worry about him. I don't know.

Dixie: Mmm.
Tad: Mmm.
Dixie: Mmm.
Tad: That's one tasty cheese sandwich.
Marilyn: Well? I told the chef I'd give him a report.
Tad: It's wonderful.
Dixie: Definitely.
Marilyn: He'll be thrilled. It doesn't take much to please him.

[Tad growls]

Dixie: Eat like a man, would you, honey?
Tad: A toast.
Dixie: A toast?
Tad: Mm-hmm. To my beautiful, patient, and long-suffering wife.
Dixie: Amen.
Tad: Forgive me. I'm sorry.
Dixie: What are you sorry for?
Tad: You kidding? For everything I put you through.
Dixie: You don't have to apologize, honey. I'm just so glad that you can admit that you made a mistake, that you're sorry for what you did to Adam.
Tad: Whoa. Back up.
Dixie: Wait, you just said --
Tad: Yeah, I know what I just said.
Dixie: You said you were sorry.
Tad: I'm perfectly aware of what I just said, and I meant it. I meant every word of it, but I'm never going to apologize for what I did to Adam.

Hayley: You're shutting everyone out. You're making your son feel as if he did something wrong.
Adam: Then explain it to him.
Hayley: He doesn't need to hear it from me. We all lost Uncle Stuart. We're all suffering.
Adam: , No, no, no, we didn't lose uncle Stuart, you see. He's right there. He's dead. I killed him.
Hayley: Look, Dad, I know that you feel that way. Oh, no.
Adam: What?
Hayley: You've been drinking. I can smell it on your breath.
Arlene: Hey.
Adam: Oh.
Hayley: What are you doing here, shopping for plots?
Arlene: I came here to show my respects to Stuart and to see how Adam's doing.
Hayley: Well, you're the last thing Adam needs.
Arlene: Hayley, you don't have the answers to everything, you know that?
Hayley: And you do? The last thing my father needs is a drinking buddy. So you leave him the hell alone.

Alex: Yummy.
Edmund: Charlotte -- you make tea better than your daughter.
Charlotte: Well, I'm so glad, but I'm more relived that you're all right. You know, I don't want to go on about this, but can you explain to me what happened to you at Bryn Wydd? I mean, I read in the papers that there was a terrible explosion and that the building was destroyed by fire?
Alex: Yes. It was completely destroyed.
Charlotte: But, Sash, why were you there, I mean, after all this time?
Alex: Bryn Wydd is not a hospital.
Charlotte: Alexandra, you were there as a patient.
Edmund: Charlotte, it's a front.
Charlotte: A front?
Edmund: Yeah.
Charlotte: A front for what?
Edmund: For a covert organization that we know next to nothing about -- yet.
Alex: They were using it as a training facility, and we believe that they were involved in some kind of mind control. I mean, we're not entirely sure.
Charlotte: Mind control?
Alex: Mm-hmm. I've been having these memory flashes about the time that I was there and vague, unconnected things that they did something to me when I was a patient. I just don't know what.
Charlotte: And you think that this -- this person, Guy, that he was a part of this?
Alex: Yes. Yes.
Edmund: We just don't know how.
Alex: When I was struggling with him, I remembered. I remembered that I knew him, that he had been there at Bryn Wydd at the same time that I was. And he said he trained me.
Charlotte: Trained you? For what?
Alex: I don't know. And then the gun went off and Guy, or whatever his name was, is dead.
Charlotte: This is just horrible.
Alex: It was an accident, Mum. I killed a man. But that wasn't the first time.

Greenlee: Look, Gillian, I know that we've never been close.
Gillian: Greenlee, I know what you're thinking. Listen, it is over between me and Ryan. There is nothing going on, and nothing will ever happen again.
Greenlee: But you had a crisis and you called him. What about Jake?
Gillian: My husband is in eastern Europe.
Greenlee: I just don't want you getting hurt.
Gillian: You're making a documentary, right? "The story of an Émigré Princess"?
Greenlee: Ahem. Doc-- yeah, right.
Gillian: Ok.
Greenlee: Right.
Gillian: Well, I have some scrapbooks and I have some pictures I could show you. Let's go to the main house, ok? Greenlee: Ok.

[Door closes]

Dixie: I thought that you just sat here and said you were sorry --
Tad: I know what I said.
Dixie: For the mistakes that you made.
Tad: I am, honey. I am. I'm sorry for the mistakes I made with you and the boys and with Stuart.
Dixie: But not for going after Adam?
Tad: No. I regret showing Stuart that videotape, the one that sent him after Adam. I'll regret it for the rest of my life. But it was Adam that destroyed Stuart, not me.
Dixie: Well, you know what? Adam is rapidly destroying himself. He won't even let Junior see him.
Tad: Still?
Dixie: Yeah, still. Junior begged me to take him to see Adam. Suffice it to say, it didn't go well.
Tad: Yeah, well, you know what my feelings are about that one.
Dixie: Honey, Junior is Adam's son, ok? Adam is his father, whether you like that or not.
Tad: He has me.
Dixie: I know he has you, and he's so lucky to have you, but he needs Adam. Look, I understand how hard it is for you to be compassionate. But you've got to think of it this way -- that Stuart was Adam's twin brother. You've got to know how hard that is to lose somebody that close.
Tad: You mean Jenny?
Dixie: Yeah.
Tad: You know, when we were sharing that cell together, I found him crying one night about Stuart. Now I know why. He was probably choking to death on the lie that would tear them apart.
Dixie: And it did. He lost Stuart.
Tad: So that's it? All's forgotten and forgiven? Can you honestly say you've forgiven him for what he did to you? And Liza and Jake and Marian? I mean, the list goes on, Dixie.
Dixie: God, Tad --
Tad: It's a mile long.
Dixie: Tad, stop it.. Don't do this.

Arlene: Stuart was always very kind to me.
Hayley: I want you to leave. I want to speak to my father alone.
Arlene: You don't have to tell me twice.
Hayley: I'm sorry I snapped at you about the drinking. I know that you're struggling.
Adam: Hayley, what do you want from me?
Hayley: I want you to be my father. I want you to walk me down the aisle when I marry Mateo. I want to start my life with him knowing that I've made peace with us. I need you, Dad. Please, Dad. Look, you're shutting everyone out, you're pushing everyone aside, and I know it's because you are suffering, but Uncle Stuart would not want that for you. He loved you. He wanted you to be happy.
Adam: Don't.
Hayley: Oh, please, don't you realize that if you do this, you won't be doing it for just me or for you. You'll be doing it for Uncle Stuart as well. You'll both be standing up for me.
Adam: I don't belong at your wedding.
Hayley: Oh, Dad, please.
Arlene: Give him some time, Sweetie.
Hayley: I thought I told you to leave.
Arlene: I'm your mother. I'm just trying to help.
Hayley: Do us both a favor -- don't.

Junior: So stupid. Mateo: You're not stupid.
Junior: My dad's just getting over Uncle Stuart's death, and I asked him to go fishing? What was I thinking? That was their thing. They did that together.
Mateo: Stop blaming yourself.
Junior: And my dad wanted me to go to boarding school. But my mom said no.
Mateo: Junior --
Junior: If I had gone, I could've played soccer.
Mateo: Ok.
Junior: He could've seen me. He'd have watched me.
Mateo: Stop. First of all, you're not going to boarding school. All right, that's not going to solve anything. And stop trying to twist yourself in a pretzel trying to make your dad happy. It's -- it's not going to work. Believe me, I know.
Junior: You do? Mateo: Yeah, man, my dad was a lot like your dad, you know, not really out there with his feelings, you know? I blame myself because, you know, he didn't love me the way I wanted him to. But that was me. Had nothing to do with him. I had it backwards.
Junior: So you think I have it backwards with my dad, too?
Mateo: Yeah, I do. I really do. You know, deep down inside, my dad loved me a lot, and I know that's true with your dad, too, no matter how he acts.
Junior: Is it because of Uncle Stuart?
Mateo: I think so. You know, and I'm sure your dad has a million other things flying through his head that have nothing to do with you. You know? You know when a turtle's scared how it sticks its head back into the shell? You know? That's your dad these days. He lost his brother. He's -- he's afraid to go on without him. He's scared.
Junior: My dad's scared?
Mateo: Amazing, huh?
Junior: Yeah. Thanks, Mateo.
Mateo: Yeah, well, don't thank me yet. I have a favor to ask you.

Greenlee: You weren't kidding about having a lot of stuff to carry.
Gillian: No, I have a lot of photographs, a lot of memories.
Greenlee: This looks new.
Gillian: Oh, it is, and it shouldn't be in there.
Greenlee: What is it?
Gillian: It's my journal. Here. Why don't you start with this one. It's my debut in Budapest. I'll go get us some iced tea, ok?

Greenlee: Perfect.
Greenlee: "I'm not afraid to be honest with Ryan about what I don't know. He won't judge me." Oh, yeah. Oh, baby, this is it. The road map to Ryan's heart.

[Noise]

Greenlee: You're back.
Ryan: You're still here.
Greenlee: Yeah. Yeah, but, um, I got to go. The studio paged me and they can't do anything without me. Would you tell Gillian that we'll do this scrapbook thing later?
Ryan: Sure.
Greenlee: Bye.
Ryan: Bye.
Well, she just took off. Studio paged her, I guess.
Gillian: Did you go to the police?
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah. Derek's outside parking his car.
Gillian: Oh, he's sending a hearse?
Ryan: No, he seemed a little skeptical, so he wanted to come and personally check it out.
Gillian: Oh.
[Knock on door]

Ryan: There he is.
Gillian: Listen, if I look scared, then he's going to suspect something more, so --
Ryan: Ok.
Gillian: Hey, Lt. Frye.
Derek: Mrs. Martin. So, there's a body?
Gillian: Yes.
Derek: In a closet?
Gillian: Yes.
Derek: That's the closet?
Gillian and Ryan: Yes.
Ryan: Ok. Here goes.
Ryan: What the - - ?
Ryan: Derek, I swear, it was here.
Derek: Uh-huh. So Alex killed a man, you put him in the closet, and now he's gone?
Ryan: Oh, man, I know what this looks like, Derek, but I'm telling --
Derek: Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, what time does Alex come home?
Gillian: Edmund said she'd be back soon.
Derek: Well, you tell her to give me a call when she gets back. You understand?
Gillian: Look, they're saying that whomever Guy was working for may be --
Derek: Gillian, Gillian, Gillian? I don't care. You tell Dr. Marick to give me a call when she gets back home.

Gillian: Ryan, how --
Ryan: I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. We've been in and out all day. There must have been somebody waiting here for us to leave and -- oh, my God, Gillian, what if something had happened to you?
Gillian: Will you stay with me, please?

Charlotte: Oh, Sash. The rumors are true, then?
Alex: Yeah. I pushed Geoffrey Ashford down a flight of stairs and I killed him.
Edmund: Charlotte, had -- had you heard this before?
Charlotte: I could never believe that my daughter was capable of this.
Alex: But that's when I had the breakdown and I was taken to Bryn Wydd. What did the doctors say to you? What did they tell you when I was committed?
Charlotte: The doctors told me that you had a severe trauma, you had a series of mini strokes, and that your memory had been affected.
Alex: When I was there, they called me by a different name.
Charlotte: A different name?
Alex: Yeah. They called me Anna. Anna Devane. Did you ever hear that before?
Charlotte: Anna? No.
Alex: And have a feeling that there was a child involved.
Charlotte: A child?
Alex: Yeah. I have a memory of hugging her, a little girl.
Charlotte: Oh. Oh, dear.

Dixie: Honey, I'm not asking you to embrace Adam.
Tad: But you are asking me to drop it.
Dixie: Can you? Yeah, can you?
Tad: I want to go home.
Dixie: Oh, don't do that. Don't think I don't notice that you're not answering my question.
Tad: Dixie, the man has hurt everybody I ever cared about as far back as I can remember. Don't expect me to forget that.
Dixie: So I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree again?
Tad: Want to go home?

[Dixie groans]

Dixie: Yes, let's go home. We missed the last flight. I guess we'll have to find a motel.
Tad: Oh, no, we don't. We're going to camp in the desert.
Dixie: Oh, no.
Tad: No, I have a tent in the back of my car.
Dixie: Would you be --
Tad: Oh, this is going to be so great!
Dixie: Yes, let's camp.
Tad: Judd?
Dixie: Oh. Tad.
Judd: Yeah?
Tad: Ah. Thank you for everything. I was wondering how much it would cost to rent out the joint just for ourselves tonight.
Judd: Uh, 65 --
Marilyn: 650.
Tad: Ok. I don't think I have that much, but you can have what I do have. Here. That cover it?
Judd: Oh, yes, indeed. Uh, is this is a private party?
Tad: Yeah. Little lady doesn't like crowds.
Judd: Oh, well -- is there anything else we can do before we head out?
Tad: Maybe a little mood lighting.
Judd: Look at that, Marilyn.
Marilyn: Yeah, maybe we should do it more often. People can't see the food, maybe they'd eat more of it.
Judd: Yeah, get!

Dixie: You slay me.
Tad: You ain't seen nothing yet.

[Jukebox plays]

Singer: Love waves bathed in miracles long before I met you

Stuart: Oh, my.

Singer: A wish that came true.

Arlene: Why do you have to fight me on everything, hmm? Now, what can I do to help you with the wedding?
Hayley: You could permanently disappear.
Arlene: Oh, Hayley, come on.
Hayley: Listen, I want you to understand something -- I hired a bouncer to work the door to keep you out. Does that give you any idea of how serious I am?
Arlene: You're going to have me thrown out of your wedding?
Hayley: I'll do it myself if I have to.
Adam: Hayley, she's your mother, for God's sake.
Hayley: Are you taking her side?
Adam: I'm not taking --
Hayley: Yeah, forget it. I don't know why I bother with you. I don't know why I bother with either one of you. You deserve each other.

Arlene: She's right, you know. But for the wrong reasons.

[Jukebox plays]

Esther: Stuart, don't spy.
Stuart: No, no. Look how happy they are. Can't see their faces, but you can just tell. That's love.

Singer: But there were times when we wanted more than this and someone whispered "Let the games begin"

Junior: So what's the favor?
Mateo: You know, maybe I shouldn't. Ok, I'll ask you. You know, I -- I need you to be in my wedding. I want you to be a groomsman.
Junior: You mean it?
Mateo: Yeah. You and Adrian. You think you can handle it?
Junior: Yeah, yeah, of course.
Mateo: Cool.
Junior: Thanks, man.
Mateo: Thank you
. [Bells ring]

Mateo: Is that an ice cream truck? Yeah? All right, man, I buy, you fly?
Junior: Sure.
Mateo: All right, I need something with pistachios in it and something gooey for Hayley.
Junior: All right.
Mateo: All right.

Hayley: His mood has improved.
Mateo: Yeah. How's your mood? How'd the meeting go with your dad?
Hayley: Lovely. Then Arlene showed up.
Teo: Oh. For crying out loud.
Hayley: I told this lie. I told her that there'd be bouncers at our wedding to keep her out, and now I'm not so sure it's a bad idea.
Mateo: No, no, you're not going to have to. I told you I was going to get your mom out of town, and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Ryan: I can't stay with you, Gillian. For a million reasons, I can't stay with you. I think it would be a lot better if you stayed at the Martins' until all this got cleared up, ok?

Eugenia: I just saw lt. Frye drive off.
Ryan: Eugenia, the body's gone.
Eugenia: Oh, he took it?
Ryan: No, you know what? I'm going to let Gillian explain, but do me a favor? Make sure Gillian stays up at the house with you or at the Martins' place, not here alone. Ok?
Eugenia: Ok.

Eugenia: Gillian, darling, what happened here?
Gillian: Grandmama, why can't I just let h go? Why can't I stop loving him?
Eugenia: Oh, sweetheart.

Alex: When you used to come to visit me in the sanatorium, I mean, what was it like?
Charlotte: Oh, it was -- it was very, very depressing. You don't -- you don't remember anything at all?
Alex: No.
Charlotte: Well, I -- I came there very early on, and then the doctors called me and told me that my visits were making you go deeper into withdrawal and they told me that I should not come back.
Edmund: So you didn't?
Charlotte: No. I mean, I just did what the doctors told me.

[Tea kettle whistles]

Alex: Oh, I'll get that. Don't worry. I got it.
Edmund: Charlotte, what's really going on?

[Tea kettle stops]

Charlotte: What?
