ALL MY CHILDREN

NOVEMBER 3, 2000

Dixie: Tad? Is that you? Honey, did you forget something? You're back a lot sooner than I thought. Tad? Did you break something?
Dixie: Honey? Tad? The picture.
Dixie: Tad, Honey, where are you? Oh, I get it. You want to play "Phantom of the Opera"? Ok. We're all alone, and I'm in the mood for a singing lesson. I'm going to sing now. I hope no one comes up behind me to ravage me. I feel a mysterious presence. Who is it?

Leo: We're the models. We're not supposed to be the first ones here.

[Leo whistles]

Leo: Hello. What's with the vow of silence?
Bianca: Don't make me talk, Leo. I just want to get through this shoot.

Woman: Hi. Are you guys here for the Enchantment shoot?
Leo: Yes, we are.
Woman: Well, the person in charge is Tina. I guess she's running late.
Leo: Ok, thank you.
Woman: Sure.

Leo: So I take it you didn't tell Erica.
Bianca: No, I didn't.
Leo: So what's the plan now?
Bianca: The plan is -- no plan. I'm just not going to think about it anymore. Whatever happens happens.
Leo: Ok, well, I think that you're making this a little bit too complicated. What if Erica surprises you?
Bianca: It was different last night. I mean, when we talked, she really opened up to me. My mother had to work really hard for everything that she has, and it wasn't easy, but she achieved all of her dreams. How can I blame her for wanting the same thing for me?
Leo: Bianca, you can't be Erica Kane Jr.
Bianca: That's not what she wants, though, Leo. I mean, she didn't give me any attitude at all when I told her that I didn't want to do this whole Ms. Young Enchantment thing.
Leo: But here you are.
Bianca: She loves me so much, Leo. She'd do anything for me. I really think that she would accept whatever I told her. She doesn't hate gay people. I mean, she's far too smart for that. I just -- it's just that she has this -- this idea of who I am, and I don't want to disappoint her. Not yet.
Leo: So you're going to go along with whatever she wants?
Bianca: I guess the way I feel is that I like having her look up to me. I like having her think that I'm the perfect daughter. You know what she said to me? She said that last year when she was going through her surgery, she thought of how brave I was and she wished that she were more like me.
Leo: That's Erica -- eternally young.
Bianca: Don't make fun of her.
Leo: I'm not. She likes it when I tease her, just like you.
Bianca: I do not.
Leo: Oh, you're so --
Bianca: Oh! No, no --

Tina: Hi. Are we interrupting something?
Leo: Hey, hey -- no, we're just killing time. Where is everyone?
Tina: I don't know. I thought I'd be the last one here.

Leo: Oh. Hi.
Laura: Hi. So I hope you don't mind I'm tagging along.
Tina: I bumped into Laura at the community center, and she said she'd love to observe a photo shoot.
Laura: So I invited myself.
Leo: You're a photographer?
Laura: Yes. I just read a book about being assertive and positive.
Leo: Ah.
Laura: Don't you coach volleyball?
Bianca: Oh, that was last week.
Tina: Let me go call and see if I can figure out what's keeping the Enchantment people.
Leo: Ok.
Laura: So you guys are models now?
Bianca: No, no, no. The person that they really hired fell through, so I was, like, a last-minute replacement.
Leo: Yeah, and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Laura: Oh, don't be modest. Both you guys are beautiful enough to be on magazine covers.
Leo: Aw.

Hayley: Any sign of her?
Mateo: Listen -- listen, it's show time. Get your mom out of your head, ok?
Hayley: Has that ever helped me when you've said that to me before? No. She is not going to stop coming around until I forgive her -- or at least until she thinks I've forgiven her.
Mateo: Maybe she got the message this time, you know? She knew I was serious about calling the cops. She took off. Maybe it's for good.
Hayley: I don't think so. She has no place to go and no one to turn to.

Eli: All right. You're live in 60 seconds, ok?
Hayley: Thanks, Eli.

Mateo: Just -- just do the show, ok? All right, I got to go to the club -- the Enchantment photo shoot.
Hayley: All right. I'll meet you there.
Mateo: Ok.
Hayley: Oh, Mateo! I have some notes in the back seat -

Eli: All right, Hayley, you're live in five, four, three --
Hayley: Hi, everyone. Welcome to "Wave." I'm Hayley Santos. Thanks for joining us. Can you believe it? Thanksgiving is almost here. That's right, turkey day. Where did the millennium go? It seems like it just got here and already it's over. But before we get to Thanksgiving feasts, we're going to check in to Milan via satellite with Francesca Albretti, our fashionista, on the scene of the runway, who has given us some pictures of the latest fashion scenes in Milan. Let's see, our first look -- white leather. That's right, folks. This 1970s look is making a return engagement, and it's one of my favorites.

Arlene: There she is -- my Hayley. She's got everything she wants.

Hayley: Saying that white --

Arlene: She's rich, famous. A man who loves her.

Hayley: And gray was the new black, this year white is the new black.

Arlene: All your dreams came true, didn't they, Sweetie?

Hayley: Here's another great look from the runways of Milan --
Arlene: Now it's Mama's turn.
Hayley: Hi. Welcome back to "Wave." We have the results of our web poll, and it turns out that 56% of you chose Thanksgiving as your favorite family holiday.
Arlene: And what better way to celebrate than with your own family? Hi. Hi, I'm Hayley's mom. I'm today's surprise guest star. Surprise!
Hayley: Well, hi, Mom! Oh, it's so great to have you with us. Now, please, sit down, and you get to help me welcome Chef Marcel from the famed Pine Valley restaurant who is here to teach us how to make his famous cornbread stuffing.
Arlene: Oh, who gives a damn about Chef Marcel. You know, we made a pretty damn fine bread. I remember -- you know, I remember our Thanksgivings, Sweetie. I remember my hubby Harry Vaughan -- not Hayley's daddy, but -- and he used to stuff himself and park himself right in front of the tube, and --
Hayley: Ok, that's enough. Really, Mom --
Arlene: No, no, it was so great. He would undo his pants --
Hayley: And we'll be right back.
Arlene: Watch the football game, and he'd --
Hayley: We'll be right back.
Arlene: Oh, no, Sweetie, I know it was a horrible way to grow up, it was a stinking way --
Hayley: And as I was saying, Chef Marcel now from the famed Maxim's restaurant in Paris.
Arlene: I fixed it, didn't I? I did. I married your dad.
Hayley: He's going to teach us how --
Arlene: I'm Mrs. Adam Chandler.
Hayley: Cornbread stuffing.
Arlene: We could be a real family --
Hayley: And teach us how to stuff a bird like the pros!
Arlene: Half the people -- half the children in America want Mom and Dad under the same roof, and I did that for you. I did. I made that dream come true, didn't I? Hey! Let go of -- what are you doing?

Hayley: As I was saying -- please let's welcome --

Arlene: You are hurting me!
Mateo: Shut up.

Hayley: Famed Maxim's in Paris --

[Mateo drags Arlene backstage and pours a pitcher of water over her head]

[Arlene screams]

Laura: So, do you guys mind if I take some shots while they're setting up? It'd be great for my portfolio.
Leo: Sure, sure. We can rehearse, yeah. How do you want us?
Laura: Ok -- just do what you were doing when I came in, but -- goofing around.
Bianca: I don't think I can do this with an audience.
Leo: Come on, it's more fun with an audience.
Bianca: He's not really like this.
Laura: Yes, I think I can tell what Leo's like.
Leo: Ok, here we go. You're hot. You're hot. You're hot. Come here.
Bianca: Oh, God, Leo --
Leo: You're hot.
Bianca: Stop it!
Leo: Get her. My jacket --

[Leo and Bianca laugh]

Tina: I wasn't able to reach them.
Leo: Oh, that's ok. We started already. Look --

[Bianca laughs]

Bianca: Harp Marx.

Singer: Look around

Leo: Oh -- oh, I'm voguing, voguing.

Singer: It's everywhere that you go

Singers: Look around

Leo: Where am I? Where am I?
Bianca: I don't know. Where are you?
Leo: I'm over here. I'm over here.

Singer: The pain of life that you know

Bianca: Whoo!

Singers: Life that you know
Singer: If all else fails and you long to be something better than you are today

Erica: Here they are. Bianca Montgomery and Leo du Pres, you, of course, know the photographer, Bruce Bullitt.
Leo: It's a pleasure to meet you.

Singer: Dance floor and here's what it's for so come on, vogue let your body move to the music
Singers: Move to the music
Singer: Hey, hey, hey come on, vogue

Bruce: I have to hand it to you, Erica. I wouldn't have picked these two in a million years. But I think I can work with them.

Singer: All you need

Bruce: Let's powder them down.

Erica: Honey, I knew he would adore you. Oh. Who are you?
Laura: Hi, Erica. I'm Laura. I'm Brooke's daughter.
Erica: Oh, yes. Weren't you off somewhere?
Laura: China. I was au pairing for an American couple's children.
Erica: Aha.
Laura: But I'm back.
Erica: Well, how interesting. Ok. But this is a closed set.
Bianca: Oh, no, no, Mom, I told her that she could stay. She's a photographer herself.
Erica: Oh, I see. Well, good. Uh-huh. Oh. All right, then. Why don't you stand there -- over there?

Man: I'm ready for you.
Bianca: Oh, ok.
Erica: All right.

Leo: Ahem.
Erica: Leo, how's Bianca?
Leo: She's fine.
Erica: No, I mean, has she said anything more to you about what's been bothering her?
Leo: Didn't you two talk last night?
Erica: Yeah, she was wonderful. She was sweet. I just want her to be happy.
Leo: Yeah, well, the feeling's mutual. You're the most important person in the world to her.
Erica: Oh, Leo, thank you.
Leo: I'm just reporting what she said.
Erica: I mean thank you for caring about Bianca. She really needs a friend like you.
Leo: Thanks.

Singers: Move to the music
Singer: Hey, hey, hey come on, vogue let your body go with the flow

Laura: Well, I'll give it back when I'm finished with it.

Singer: Gene Kelly Fred Astaire Ginger Rogers dance on air

Bruce: Ok, people, we don't have all day.

Singer: Rita Hayworth gave good face Lauren, Katherine Lana, too

Erica: This is the best idea I've ever had. You're going to be sensational.
Bianca: I'm going to be sick.
Erica: Honey, no. I swear to you, after the first few rolls, you're going to feel like you've been doing this all your life. You just be yourself.

Singers: Move to the music
Singer: Vogue vogue
Singers: Go with the flow

David: Don't be afraid. It's only me.
Dixie: Um -- you have -- you have to leave. You have to get out of here. Don't. Don't -- don't sit. Don't sit!
David: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I can't help it. I have to. I'm worried out you, Dixie. You're making a big mistake.
Dixie: Don't worry about me. I don't want to talk about this anymore. You have to go!
David: I'm not talking about your quitting your job. I'm talking about your health. Changing doctors could be very dangerous for you right now.
Dixie: You're unbelievable. You are not the only cardiologist in the world!
David: No, but I'm yours. Nobody knows your heart the way that I do, Dixie. No one can take care of you the way that I can.
Dixie: Ok, David, if it makes you feel better, I'll have the cardiologist that I choose send you copies of all of the reports -- if that makes you feel better.
David: Why are you pushing me away?
Dixie: I'm not going to talk about this with you. We're not going to go into this. You have to leave! You have to leave now!
David: Stop it! No. Stop lying. Stop pretending that this isn't happening! You're killing me.
Dixie: You broke into my house!
David: Can't you see that? I can't stop the way that I'm feeling for you. How can I? All I have to do is close my eyes and picture the way that I see you every single day.
Dixie: Look, I worked for you, ok? I answered your phones.
David: No. You kissed me.
Dixie: That was a moment, ok? It was a mistake.
David: No. It was much more than that, Dixie. I swear, I'll die if I can't have you. Are you going to let me die, Dixie? Is that what you really want?

Bruce: No more statues, kids. Come on, let's find some energy. You are the sexiest couple in this world. Everyone wants to be you or be with you. Come on. Show me what you got. Show me how much I want you.
Leo: Got you.
Bruce: It's no use. They look like hostages. All right, let's try this. Get down. Boom. Butt. Here. All right? Let's go. Close, close, close. Get physical here. Come on, come on, come on. The rockets are going off. Slam, bam --
Bianca: I can't do this.
Leo: Sure you can. It's fun. Just be stupid.
Bruce: My God, now they're Donny and Marie.
Erica, Erica, this is a waste of my time and your money. Let's go home.
Erica: Oh, Bruce, come on. Don't be like that. My goodness. Who's always saying they're sick of the same old faces?
You. If anybody can do this, you can. You know you can.

Erica: Bianca, you can do this. This is easy. This is play-acting. My goodness, just -- I know it's a little harder because, you know, Leo is just a friend, but why don't you just pretend that it's another boy, someone you really like. Think of him as the man of your dreams, Baby. I think we'll get this now.

Bruce: All right. Let's try this. A sexy dip, hand here. Boom. All right? Get close. Get in there. For God's sake, grab her like a man! These pretty boys are all alike. Maybe if you had a son we'd get some fire here.
Erica: Excuse me?
Bruce: These male models are all pink around the edges.
Erica: Bruce, are you implying that Leo is gay?
Bruce: Forget it.
Erica: No, Bruce, how dare you? I assure you, Leo is not gay. You really owe him an apology.

Arlene: What the hell did you do that for, huh?
Mateo: You're lucky that's all I did. Now, you're staying put till the cops come.
Arlene: You always have to be the boss, don't you? That's why you hate me -- because you can't control Hayley while I'm around. Well, you know what? She's going to stand by me because she knows -- she knows I love her. Deep down inside, she knows that. But you -- you don't know that she'll always love you.
Mateo: Please. You think this is some type of competition thing between me and you? You're sick.
Arlene: Oh, no, Sweetie, there's no competition. A mom's love always wins out in the end. Just watch. Just watch. You go call those cops. You lock me up, you throw away the key. Hayley will stick by me. She always has. No matter how I screw up, no matter how low I sink -- no matter how low I sink, she picks me up, she puts me to bed like she always has.
Mateo: All right -- what's it going to take to get rid of you? Hmm? What do I have to do for you to go and never come back? Name it. Just tell me what you want.

[Arlene grabs Mateo and kisses him]

Mateo: You're disgusting.
Arlene: Oh, that didn't do anything for you, huh? Hmm? Come on, you can tell me. Well, you know, Hayley and I are so much alike, I mean, you'd think that if you like the copy you'd love the original.
Mateo: What? What, what, what? What? You and Hayley are nothing alike -- nothing. And that's what's eating you up inside because you've never done anything with your life. She's done everything. That's why you keep on trying to drag her down. You're the same old loser you've always been. You'll never have what she has.
Arlene: Look, for the record, I am twice the woman that Hayley is. And if you're just too much of a wimp to admit it, why don't you ask her last hubby, Alec what's-his-name?
Hayley: Ask him what?

Dixie: David, you don't look well. I think there's something wrong with you, ok? You look worse than you did at the office.
David: All I need to be well, Dixie, is you. For you to tell me that we're friends again.
Dixie: You know what? I feel like -- like you're just playing with me, you know? This isn't a game. This is my life. This is my home and my family. Do those words mean anything to you?
David: I didn't come here to take from you --
Dixie: Oh, no, you came here to give me something. Let me tell you, Mister, I don't want it. I have everything that I need.
David: Do you really?
Dixie: I love my husband.
David: If that's true, I'm very glad for you.
Dixie: I have a marriage I fought for, ok? We made a commitment. We have trust between us.
David: Which has nothing to do with us.
Dixie: What, are you kidding me? It's my whole life!
David: You say that you know me. Do you honestly believe that it's in my character to throw myself at a woman who doesn't want me? Do you think that I would beg for a little affection from somebody who really wants me to go away?
Dixie: Are you kidding me? I have never met such a huge, unmitigated ego. Let me tell you something, David. I don't want you. You disgust me, as a matter of fact. I hate you and I want you to leave!
David: No.
Dixie: You'd better leave. If you don't leave right now, I'm going to call the police.
David: Go ahead. Call them. Because I'm not leaving. They're going to have to drag me out of here in handcuffs.

[Telephone rings]

[Dixie gasps]

Dixie: Hello? Tad.

Erica: Bruce, if you're too much of a prima donna to apologize --
Bruce: I don't have time for hurt feelings.
Leo: Erica, I don't care. I don't need an apology.
Erica: I think you do. Excuse me. I mean, if you were gay, all right then, fine, who cares? But you happen to be a perfectly normal person, and I won't have you insulted.
Bruce: I never said your friend wasn't normal.
Erica: Look. Bianca and Leo are not professional models. They need guidance. They need some understanding. Maybe if you stopped barking orders at them, Bruce --
Bruce: Fine. Fine. We'll try it again.
Bianca: No! I'm not going to do this anymore.
Erica: Honey, this is not your fault. This is Bruce. He thinks he's a genius. Well, I made him, and I can break him.
Bianca: No, Mom, it's not him. It's me. I don't know how to do this. I want to go home, ok? Please don't make me do this anymore.
Erica: You do not have to do this. Of course not. Of course we'll stop, Honey. We'll get another photographer.
Bianca: No, Mom, he's the best in the business.
Erica: I don't care. I don't want to work with him anymore after his rudeness, after his insults. Honey, we'll do this another time with another photographer. Believe me, I'm going to make this -- everything all right. Really, I promise.

Laura: Gosh, that was rough, huh?
Bianca: Yeah. I screwed up.
Laura: Are you kidding? Do you know the kind of stuff that supermodels pull? You didn't want to have your picture taken today. Let them deal with it.
Leo: Glad you came?
Laura: Hey, I wouldn't have missed it. But I better hit the road.
Leo: All right.
Laura: So I'll see you in school. And I'll see you later.
Leo: Oh, yes.
Bruce: Look, no hard feelings, man, ok?
Leo: Yeah, well, I know who I am. I don't need your permission.

Erica: All right. Honey, do you want a ride home?
Bianca: No, I'm fine.
Erica: All right. See you later then, ok?
Bianca: Sure.

Leo: Are you really ok?
Bianca: I was wrong about my mom. I really thought that she wouldn't care. I thought that she'd be surprised and shocked maybe, but -- I was -- I was just wrong.
Leo: Bianca, she was angry. She didn't mean what she was saying.
Bianca: Yeah. You're not gay. You're normal. I'm -- I'm gay. I'm abnormal.
Leo: You know your mother when she's being dramatic. She was protecting me. She thought that I was being insulted.
Bianca: Of course. Somebody called you gay. What could be worse than that?
Leo: Look -- Bianca, today was a bust all around, all right? You know what? Let's stop talking about this. Let's go to the movies. Let's have dinner. Let's just talk about something else.
Bianca: Ok. Yeah, no, you're right. You're right, of course. I can't let it rule my life. It's not the most important thing about me, anyway. I'm 16 years old. How can I be sure of anything?
Leo: Right.
Bianca: And I had one experience, and it was when I was dealing with a whole other problem and I was living in a dorm with a bunch of girls who were dealing with their own problems.
Leo: Bianca, are you trying to talk yourself out of being gay?

Dixie: Hello, Sweetheart. Oh -- no, I'm fine. I just ran up from the basement. I'm doing the laundry, you know? When are you coming home? Oh. No. No, it's ok. I understand. Ok. Well, I'll see you later, then, ok? Ok, bye.

David: Why didn't you tell Tad that I was here?
Dixie: Because he'd kill you.
David: Is that the only reason?
Dixie: You know, he's coming home right now, you know.
David: No, he isn't. He called to tell you that he was going to be held up. It's just us, Dixie. So now we can have a long, private conversation.
Dixie: I love Tad, ok? When he cheated on me with Liza, I felt like everything he ever said to me was a lie. I didn't think that he could possibly love me or respect what we had together if he could do something like that.
David: But now you realize how complicated it really is. You could love your husband as much as you do and still look at me the way that you're looking at me right now.
Dixie: I care about you, ok? I do. And I think that it's possible that I may be one of the only people that you've let inside your heart, and that means something to me! It does! But -- all I have to do is think of the look on tad's face and I know that I will never hurt him, ok?
David: Dixie, I'm sorry. Please forgive me.
Dixie: You don't want me to forgive you. You want me to feel sorry for you. I don't know why I feel what I feel for you. I don't. I hate it, you know? I hate myself.
David: No, no, no, don't do that. Don't. Dixie, you're too good. You're too -- too sweet. You're too special.
Dixie: I don't feel good. I don't feel sweet or special. I feel like I'm drowning.
David: Yeah. You know what? I think we're both right. You don't want me to go. You don't. But I really shouldn't be here. I never should have come here. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'll go.

[David starts to leave and collapses]

Dixie: David? David?

Arlene: I was just saying to Mateo that we're so much alike that we even have the same taste in men.
Hayley: You know what? I don't even care what you're talking about. I don't even want to see your face. What you did tonight is unforgivable.
Arlene: Oh, my God. How'd you find out already? Oh -- oh, you mean when I walked in on your TV show. Don't worry, Sweetie. She doesn't suspect a thing.
Hayley: What is she talking about? What is she talking about now?
Arlene: Oh, what the hell. Go on, tell her. I dare you. Go on and tell her.
Mateo: She kissed me.
Arlene: Full on the mouth. I don't know what came over me, Sweetie. I was just -- must have been the stress or something. But I swear to you that it will never happen again, no matter how great the temptation. Right, Mateo?

[Hayley slaps Arlene across the face]

Bianca: You know, when I got that letter from Sarah -- you know, the girl --
Leo: Yes, the girl. Bianca: When she told me that she wasn't gay anymore, that she never was, I felt bad. I thought she was lying to herself or fooling herself. But, I mean -- maybe it's possible. I mean, some people do stop being gay.
Leo: Some people stop being gay and some people just pretend to.
Bianca: That's what I mean. How can I be sure?
Leo: You've never been attracted to guys.
Bianca: I know. That's what I said, but --
Leo: You -- have you?
Bianca: No, but -- but --
Leo: Are you saying that you want to be with a guy?
Bianca: It -- it couldn't just be any guy.
Leo: No.
Bianca: Leo, we're friends. You said I can count on you for anything right?
Leo: Yeah.
Bianca: That's what you said, didn't you?
Leo: Bianca, are you saying that you want to make love to me?

Mateo: All right. Time to go. Come on.
Hayley: I just got one thing to say to you.
Arlene: Go ahead, Sweetie. Whatever you have to say --
Hayley: Shut up. I'm only going to say this once. It won't take long. If you ever touch my husband again, I will kill you.

Dixie: What is it? What is it? Are you ok? Oh, my God, you're burning up.
David: I'm fine. I'm fine. I just need --
Dixie: What do you need? What do you need?
David: You said that when you're with me, you feel like you're drowning. I have felt that way my entire life. Like I'm sinking, just trying to survive.
Dixie: It's ok. It's going to be ok. You know what? I'm going to call an ambulance.
David: No! No, don't. Don't go. Don't leave me.
David: God help me. I would die before I hurt you, Dixie. You're my last hope.

[David kisses Dixie and she returns the kiss passionately]

ON THE NEXT - - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Arlene: You're a pussycat inside. I know that about you. You'd never kill anybody.
Adam: What about me, Arlene? You think I'm capable of killing you?

Leo: You're confused, and, you know, this just isn't the way that --

Dixie: That's Tad's car. He's home.
