ALL MY CHILDREN

OCTOBER 23, 2000

Erica: David -- I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't be here. Love me. Oh, David, I need you to love me.
Bianca: Mom? Mom? Mom?
Jack: Hey, what's up, Kiddo?
Bianca: Daddy?
Jack: No, Honey, it's me. What's wrong?
Bianca: Uncle Jack. Jack: Yeah, yeah, I'm right here. What happened?
Bianca: But -- I had a bad dream. It seemed so real. I'm sorry I disturbed you.
Jack: No, no, no, no, no. No, it's just you sounded so -- so scared. And you called out for your mom. Bianca?
Bianca: Yeah? Mom said she couldn't love me. She said she couldn't love me.
Jack: Oh, Sweetheart, now you know that was a dream, huh?
Bianca: Yeah, yeah, I know. It was -- it was just a dream. I'm just being stupid. Excuse me.

[Telephone rings]

David: Come on, let it ring.
Erica: No, but it might be important.
David: Let your voice mail pick it up.
Erica: I'll turn it off after -- after this call.

[Ring]

David: Er--
[ring]

Erica: Erica Kane.
Jack: Erica, it's Jack.
Erica: Jack. Is everything all right?
Jack: No, no, everything is not all right. I think you should get over here, and I mean right now.

Woodruff: Do we have a deal?
Leo: I don't mean to sound egotistical, sir, but I thought you liked me.
Woodruff: Not enough to hand you $1 million unconditionally. You have proven to be a very bad influence on my granddaughter.
Leo: So bad that if I dump her and hop on a plane to Europe you'll let me keep the cash and drop all charges?
Greenlee: So it's like that, huh? You want to move in with me one minute and then sell me out the next? To hell with you, Leo.

Tad: No, no, just two passengers -- Dr. Jake martin and his wife, Gillian. Thanks, Claude. Appreciate it. Well, that is that. Corporate jet will be on the runway. You can take off whenever you're ready.
Jake: It's amazing. It's good to have a mogul in the family.
Tad: We should've figured that out before, huh?
Jake: Absolutely. Let me tell Gillian.
Tad: Ok.
Tad: She's with Ryan, isn't she?
Jake: Yeah.
Tad: Aren't you going out there?
Jake: No.

Gillian: How -- how are you?
Ryan: You don't need to do this, Gillian.
Gillian: Do what?
Ryan: This -- reach out to me. I don't need that.
Gillian: I want to. I -- I hate having to run into you and pretending that we're nothing more than what, friends, exes?
Ryan: Gillian, don't, don't.
Gillian: I hate having to avoid eye contact and having to put on a polite little smile.
Ryan: Gilly --
Gillian: I miss you, Ryan.
Ryan: Yeah, well, you'll get over that.
Gillian: No, don't say that.
Ryan: It's the truth.
Gillian: Look, I know why you're saying this. It's because I'm with Jake and that hurts you. But, Ryan, it's only going to be for a little while longer. I love you. You have to believe that.
Ryan: There's only one thing you can do, Gillian, and that's leave Jake and come back to me. But you can't do that, can you? I know it, and you know it.

Tad: You're just going to leave her out there with Ryan?
Jake: What am I supposed to do, put armed guards around her? Have them pummel him every time he comes within 15 feet of her?
Tad: No. Armed guards are too expensive. Personally, I was thinking about maybe I hold him down and you pummel him.
Jake: No, no, we're not --
Tad: Oh, that's right, I remember. As an ER Doc, you got to watch out for your hands. Well, I don't.
Jake: Hey, listen -- I'm not going out there, and neither are you.
Gillian: You're asking me to walk out on Jake?
Ryan: I'm not asking you to do anything except for face the truth.
Gillian: But you're making this either/or.
Ryan: It is either/or, Gillian. It always has been. You make a choice, and I end up losing every time.
Gillian: Ryan, Jake -- Jake was injured. He's still hurting. I can't just turn my back on him now.
Ryan: You don't have to make excuses. You don't have to explain it. I understand. I really do. I understand and I've accepted it, and now you have to accept it, too, Gillian. You can't have Jake and me.
Gillian: Ryan, I will never give up on us.
Ryan: I'm just facing the facts, Gillian. It's time for you to face them, too.
Gillian: So you're giving up on us?
Ryan: There is no us. Not anymore.
Erica: Jack, is it Bianca? Has something happened to Bianca?
Jack: Well, she's upset. She had a dream that really shook her up.

Bianca: Uncle Jack, did you call my mom?
Erica: Is that her? Is that Bianca? Jack, put her on.
Bianca: How could you do that? That's the last thing I need!

David: What is it? Is Bianca all right?
Erica: I have to go to her.
David: Why? What happened? Erica: She had a nightmare. I'm missing an earring.
David: A bad dream? Erica, all of this over a bad dream?
Erica: All of what?
David: Well, why do you have to rush out this very instant? I'm sure Bianca will be ok in an hour.
Erica: An hour? Of course not. She can't wait an hour. My daughter needs me now.
David: Erica, wait a minute. And what about what you need? You came here practically in tears. You told me that everybody leaves you. You wanted me to love you, and I tried. Erica, come on. Don't run out on me again.
Erica: Oh, David, I'm sorry. I really am sorry. But my daughter needs me. I have to go to my daughter, so -- I'm sorry, really.

[Door closes]

[Knock on door]

David: It's open.
Dixie: I've been trying to reach you. Do you have your phone off -- hello.
David: Dixie. What can I do for you?

Leo: No, Greenlee, you got this all wrong --
Greenlee: Save it, Leo. I've heard you think on your feet. You lie faster than a deadbeat on "Judge Trudy."
Leo: You're tripping, Greenlee --
Greenlee: No, no, no, no. Don't try and charm your way out of this. If I didn't have the sense to see you for what you were before, I see it now.
Leo: Will you shut up for a minute before you make a fool of yourself?
Greenlee: Oh, it's too late for that. You'd think I'd learned my lesson with Ryan, but, no, I got played all over again.
Leo: God, would you get it through your head? You never had a chance with Ryan. I tried to tell you that.
Greenlee: Because you saw me as an easy mark and you wanted me for yourself? Is that why you were trying to warn me about Wade? Because he was horning in on your territory?
Leo: You cannot possibly believe that!
Greenlee: Oh! Haven't you heard? I'll believe anything, including that "you and me against the world" routine. Oh, poor little rich kid, ignored by her parents, looking for love and someone to understand her. We're two of a kind, right, Leo? Oh, except for the rich part, of course.
Leo: Ok, stop it! And think about what you're saying!
Greenlee: I've always known gold-digging was encoded in your DNA but I felt sorry for you after that self-centered mother of yours turned her back on you.
Leo: Yeah. Well, you didn't seem to mind my self-centered mother so much when she tried to save your butt from Wade.
Greenlee: I always wondered how you got her to do that so easily. What'd you do, promise to cut her in on half my dowry?
Leo: Don't be ridiculous, Greenlee. More like a third.
Greenlee: Right, right. You give me a puppy, and I suddenly lose my mind. I should've remembered that someone like you caring about someone other than yourself goes against your nature. So I'll take responsibility for that.
Leo: How about taking responsibility for lying? You claimed to care about me, too.
Greenlee: Until you stole from my grandfather. I won't let anyone take advantage of him -- not you, not Wade. You should've known better, Leo.
Leo: You're right. I should've known.
Greenlee: Better luck next time.
Woodruff: So, do we have a deal?
Woodruff: If you stop being so reckless, you'll find $1 million can go a long way. Don't be a bigger fool than you've already been. Greenlee's through with you. You got nothing to lose, everything to gain, including your freedom.
Leo: If Greenlee's through with me, what do you care?
Woodruff: Because I want you out of my granddaughter's life for good and I'm willing to pay $1 million to make that happen.
Leo: I'm sorry, sir, but I think I'll pass.
Woodruff: Oh? You want more money?
Leo: No, it's not about that. It's not about Greenlee, either. I'm out of her life and she's out of mine. And, believe me, nothing could make me happier.
Woodruff: Not even your freedom?
Leo: Being an exile isn't exactly my idea of freedom, Mr. Greenlee. What if we bump into each other in the south of France? Would I be expected to drop everything and skip town? No, I don't think so. It's not happening. And if that means that I have to risk jail to be able to do what I want to do, then I will risk jail.
Woodruff: So you do love Greenlee?

Bianca: I just wish that you hadn't called my mom. Uncle Jack, I can't deal with her right now.
Jack: Well, you got to deal with her, and right now. This can't keep going on, Bianca! Look, you two -- you've got to get through to what is really going on here. You keep trying to reach out for each other, but you end up pushing each other away! And, sweetheart, all you really want to do is love each other.

[Doorbell rings]

Erica: Oh, Jack, where is she?
Jack: She's right there.
Erica: Bianca?
Bianca: Hi, Mom.
Jack: Well, I'll tell you what, you two. I'll be in the study here.
Erica: Will you tell me what happened?
Bianca: I had a rotten dream. You were in it. You -- you told me that you couldn't love me anymore.
Erica: Oh, Honey -- I could never stop loving you. Not ever. Ever.
Bianca: I know, I know. Sorry.
Erica: No, don't apologize. I -- just don't ever think that again. It kills me that you would feel that way. Although I have to say that I've been afraid of the same thing myself recently -- Ever since you found me talking to your guidance counselor.
Bianca: I shouldn't have said those things.
Erica: Honey, you were angry, and I don't blame you. I had no business reading your journal, and I was wrong to go to your guidance counselor behind your back. Bianca, I just don't know what to do. I don't want to keep pushing you away from me, but I know that's what I'm doing.
Bianca: No, Mom, you're not.
Erica: You said that you were out of my life. And that broke my heart because you are my life. And I thought that I had lost you forever. I thought that you just couldn't stand to be near me, that -- that you had stopped loving me --

[Erica cries]

Bianca: Oh, Mommy. Stop. No, you haven't lost me. I love you, Mom. I'll always love you.

Tad: You said you were going to fight for Gillian. Isn't that what you told me when you came back from Chechnya?
Jake: I am fighting for her, but she has to decide who she wants. And I have to let her.
Tad: Well, what if she doesn't know who she wants?
Jake: Then I'm going to take that as a positive sign. Look, Tad, I know that she's still wrestling over her feelings for Ryan. But we have something going on, too. Otherwise she would've walked out on me by now, and she hasn't.
Tad: Well, she still might. I'm starting to get scared for you.
Jake: I owe her that much. I knew it wasn't completely over for them when we started going out, and I knew that I rushed her into marrying me when I pushed the date up. Otherwise she wouldn't be out there with him right now. If I hadn't left Pine Valley -- tad, she begged me not to go, and I needed to go, I needed the time, so I left. But this entire relationship has been on my terms.
Tad: Yeah, well, I don't want to be paranoid, but I'd leave it there if I were you. At least until he's out of the picture.
Jake: Would you want that for you and Dixie? Listen, maybe the reason why we got married was a selfish one, but I can tell you, the reason we stay together is not going be.
Tad: If you stay together. She could choose him.
Jake: Well, if she does that, I'll support her and I'll back off.
Tad: This is a big risk you're taking.
Jake: I know it is. But the payoff's worth it.
Tad: Yeah. God, I hope so. All right, well, you know what? I cannot stay holed up in my office all day. So if you'll excuse me, I've got a lot of stuff to take care of. You just enjoy the jet. Don't worry. I won't do anything.
Jake: Thanks.

Tad: Your husband's in there waiting for you.

Ryan: You heard the man. Your husband's waiting.
Gillian: Ryan, please --
Ryan: Just go, Gillian. Just go in there.
Gillian: I love you, Ryan.
Ryan: You're married.
Gillian: I still love you.
Ryan: You're with Jake now. Gillian, you have a life with Jake. You're about to fly off and spend a romantic weekend with him in New York. What am I supposed to say?
Gillian: Ryan, Ryan --
Ryan: Just call it one of those things, all right? Just -- you love me. God knows that I love you. But we just can't be together, Gillian. You belong with him. We had our chance. More than once we had our chance. It's over. Accept it. I have.
Ryan: We have to say it.
Gillian: No. No, don't say it.
Ryan: It's time, Gillian.
Gillian: No, I can't. I can't.
Ryan: We have to. We have to.
Gillian: No! Ryan, we love each other.
Ryan: Yeah, we do, Gillian, but you also love Jake. Don't you see it? Don't you see? Trying to be together now is wrong, Gillian. It's wrong. I used to try and convince myself that we should have love and we should have happiness at all costs, but it doesn't work that way, Gillian. You couldn't be at peace with yourself leaving Jake, and I couldn't be at peace knowing that you're miserable. Look at us right now. We're living proof of that.
Gillian: Ryan, listen to me. I just need a little bit more time, ok?
Ryan: But time isn't going to make any difference. It's not. I knew that when I saw you with him in Chechnya singing to that little girl. I knew it when I saw you sitting beside his hospital bed. You can't leave him, Gillian. You're never going to leave him. And it hurts like hell, but that's just how it's got to be.
Gillian: Ryan -- God, I never meant for this to happen.
Ryan: I know you didn't. I know you didn't, but it did. And now I got to move on. At least I got to try to move on, and so do you.
Gillian: I'm just so afraid that one day you're going to look back and you're going to hate me for all of this.
Ryan: I could never hate you, Gillian. You have such a loving heart -- a loving heart that you share with the whole world. And even though I just -- I just had a tiny part of that, it was more than I ever thought I'd have in a lifetime. For that I thank you. I have no regrets. For a while, I was the happiest man in the world.
Gillian: No, no. I can't do this.
Ryan: Well, then, I'm going to do it for us. It's over, Gillian. We're over. Now go back there and go with Jake and be happy, all right? Just go. Just go.
Ryan: Good-bye, Princess.

Leo: That's funny. You think that I'm in love with your granddaughter? You were here. She kissed me off and wished me well. We used each other. It's over.
Woodruff: Don't kid a kidder, son. There's only one thing that'd make a guy in your position turn down a cool million -- either two million or love. Now, you're not asking for two, are you?
Leo: Ok, with all due respect, Sir, you take your millions and you find a better investment.
Woodruff: Oh, boy. You have really got it bad. You let Greenlee walk out of here believing that you were using her for her money.
Leo: You believe whatever you want. I'm not going to be a part of this fractured fairy tale, all right? In fact, I want to be alone right now.
Woodruff: Very well. I'll leave -- after I have your charges dropped.
Leo: Excuse me?
Woodruff: There's hope for you yet, Leo. You didn't give up Greenlee to save your own hide. I respect that.
Leo: Well -- are you saying this is some sort of a test?
Woodruff: Only of character. Oh, I would've given you the money if you'd chosen it. And I would've expected you to honor my terms. But you stood your ground. You are a scoundrel and a troublemaker. But you're made out of the right stuff.
Leo: Thank you, sir.
Woodruff: I once told you you remind of myself when I was your age.
Leo: You still think that?
Woodruff: I had my wild days. Hell, I didn't have two nickels to rub together, so I did my share of hustling. I didn't have a real goal till I got out of the service.
Leo: Well, you're not suggesting that I enlist, are you?
Woodruff: Well, the discipline would do you some good, but no. I suggest you find some gainful employment so you can pay me back every cent of that 175 grand you spent.
Leo: Yes, sir.
Woodruff: It's not so bad. Once you figure out what you want, the chase is just as much fun as reaping the reward. Now, you go out there, and you make something out of yourself. It'll feel damn good when you do.
Leo: Sir, I can see now why Greenlee's so fond of you.
Woodruff: You come back when you have something to offer Greenlee. Then you can commit yourself to Greenlee.
Leo: I'll commit myself to a psych ward before I commit myself to Greenlee -- no offense.
Woodruff: Well. Oh, and after they let you out, track her down. I have a feeling she's waiting for you, wherever she is.

Greenlee: Thanks. Rot in hell, Leo.

David: May I sit?
Dixie: Yes, please. Do sit.
David: I wasn't sure you still wanted to see me, the way you tore out of my room.
Dixie: Actually, I think I saw plenty of you, David. And I didn't tear out of your room.
David: I was wearing a robe, Dixie. It's not the first time that one of us walked in on the other undone, so to speak.
Dixie: Well, forgive me, but it just took me a few moments to put it all together.
David: Put what together?
Dixie: The reason that Erica was walking into the elevator when I was walking out was because she had just been in your room. And, given those circumstances, I just didn't feel like hopping into the love bed and talking shop.
David: So you tracked me down because of work?
Dixie: Yes, I did. What else?
David: All right, so, what's so urgent?
Dixie: Phil Gustafson of Carlquist Pharmaceuticals? He called. As we speak, he is flying in to discuss the drug information that you requested.
David: That is great.
Dixie: So, what are you working on?
David: Well, it's -- it's confidential.
Dixie: But I'm going to get a chance to work on it with you, right? It's not that confidential, is it?
David: You want to run drug trials with me?
Dixie: Yes. Look, given all those other issues around Dimitri's case aside, that was really exciting to work on such an important case. And if you're developing some kind of wonder drug, I really want to be involved every step of the way.
David: Now that's what I call dedication. All right. You're on.
Dixie: Great. Now I feel a little better telling you that I called Mr. Gustafson and I suggested very nicely that he stay in this hotel so you two could meet while he's here.
David: It's a good call.
Dixie: Thanks. So -- how are things going with you and Miss Erica Kane?

[David sighs]
v Dixie: I mean, is that confidential, too?
David: Oh, I'm sure you can figure that one out. I keep putting myself in situations that have the inevitable outcome -- Erica wants what she wants and her needs always come first.
Dixie: Oh, as opposed to your needs coming first always?
[David laughs]

David: All right. I admit, I used to like it that way. But you made me see that relationships work another way, that there's a bit of give and take involved.
Dixie: Really?
David: Really.
Dixie: That's very exciting. I wish I knew some available single women that I could hook you up with so you could test out this wonderful new attitude.
David: I didn't say I want anyone, Dixie. I want someone like you.

Jack: So -- how are my two favorite girls doing?
Erica: Oh, we're fine now. I'm fine. I'm sorry that I lost it like that, Honey. I just -- I've had a very emotional day. Bianca: Well, that's ok. It's ok. I understand. I'm -- I'm sorry I walked out on you, and I'm sorry that I said all those things.
Erica: Honey, I understand. I really do. You've been through so much recently.
Bianca: Yeah. I mean, it was -- it was building up, and I guess I just lost it.
Erica: It's all in the past now. We're just going to start over, ok? Fresh start. Only this time we're going to be more open and honest with each other, ok?
Bianca: You mean that I'll be more open and honest with you.
Erica: No, no, Honey. I mean that we will both work on this. But together, right?
Bianca: Right.
Erica: So, does this mean that you'll come home?
Jack: Get out of here.
Bianca: Yeah. Yeah, I guess so. But, Mom, you have to promise me that you're not going to invade my privacy anymore
. Erica: I promise I will not invade your privacy. I will never read your journal again. In fact, I will stay out of your room completely.
Bianca: Ok.
Erica: But you have to promise me something, too. You have to promise that we'll talk more. Ok? About anything and everything. Deal?
Bianca: Deal.
Jack: I'm a witness.
Erica: Oh, Honey, I'm so glad that we worked everything out. This time we're going to do everything right.

Dixie: Well, listen, unless you're planning on running trials on human cloning, this model here is taken.
David: Yes, I know. I'm very well aware of that. That's why I said that I want someone like you, Dixie.
Dixie: Oh.
David: Someone who is loyal and understanding, who's trusting without being controlling. Someone who's charming without being manipulative and whose personality is warm and gracious.
Dixie: Wow. Thanks.
David: To list just a few of your very many attributes.

Tad: Am I interrupting anything?
Dixie: Oh! No, no.
Hi, Baby. David was just talking about some things.
Tad: Well, you mind if I steal my wife back? We've got some things to talk about, too.
David: Of course not. By all means.
Dixie: Excuse us.
David: Sure.

Maitre d': Dr. Hayward. This gentleman was asking for you.
David: Oh, yes, thank you. Phil.
Phil: How are you?
David: It's great to see you. Have a seat. Listen, can I get you anything?
Phil: A glass of Pinot Grigio.
David: All right, and bring me my regular, ok?
Maitre d': I'll tell your waiter.
David: Thank you. Listen, I'll tell you, I really appreciate you coming all this way for this.
Phil: I'm eager to find out what you have planned for Cystolotride. Impotence is hardly a rare disease.
David: Yes, but a very compelling one for a lot of different reasons. I became interested in this drug when a colleague of mine came up with some information on it.
Phil: Really? Who?
David: Dr. Jake Martin over at Pine Valley Hospital. Apparently he's running research on it.
Phil: I wonder what his interest would be.
David: Well, there's always been a certain degree of competition between Dr. Martin and myself. Perhaps this is his way of trying to steal some of the spotlight.
Phil: Because of the success of your Prion drug?
David: Exactly. Ok, but, now, if this Cystolotride really does have potential, then I think it's in our best interests to make sure that it's not developed in anyone else's hands.
Phil: I agree completely --
David: Good.
Phil: Especially since there are still problems with this drug.
David: Such as?
Phil: The drug in its present form directly affects the Id.
David: You're talking about part of the personality connected to instinctual needs and desires. Well, a drug dealing with impotence -- I guess that makes sense, right?
Phil: Yes. The researchers in the Swedish lab have named it "Libidozone," after the libido. We're essentially unleashing the Id with unpredictable results. Remember, this is uninhibited behavior demanding immediate gratification.
David: Huh. Basic instincts -- hunger, anger, and sex.
Phil: Precisely, and everything that goes with them.
David: Hmm.

Bartender: Would you like another?
Greenlee: Hmm. I'd like three more, but I won't. I may run into an ax later.
Bartender: An ex?
Greenlee: No, an ax. Never mind.

Gillian: Come on. Let's get out of here.
Jake: And go where?
Gillian: To New York. Did you get the plane?
Jake: Yeah, yeah, I got it.
Gillian: Good.
Jake: But we're not going anywhere, Gillian.

Greenlee: Aren't you supposed to be leaving me alone? Weren't those the terms of your agreement?
Leo: I'm not looking for you. I'm looking for my mother.
Greenlee: Can't wait to pop a cork and celebrate, huh? Well, give Mommy Dearest my regards.
Leo: Promise me something, Greenlee. Take care of happy. Try not to abuse him like you abuse everybody else, and that includes kicking him when he's down.

Dixie: Well, I hope things work out for Jake.
Tad: So do I. So what's the story with you and Dr. Doom over there? You know, not for nothing, but I came in and things looked a little too chummy for my taste.
Dixie: What, are you jealous?

[Dixie laughs]

Tad: Hell, no.
Dixie: Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I was just trying to think of somebody that I could set up with David.
Tad: Get him one of those blow-up dolls from a shop on Center Street.
Dixie: Nice.
Tad: No.

[Dixie laughs]

David: I'm going to take a look at this, Phil, and I'll get back to you, all right? Listen, why don't we have dinner, ok?
Phil: Great. That'd be great.
David: Listen, thanks a lot for coming by all this way.
Phil: Ok. Take care, David.

David: Ah. Well, I hate to break up this moment, but I need to get to the office, Dixie, and I want you to come with me.
Tad: She'll be along in a minute.
Dixie: I can speak for myself, thank you very much. I'll be right with you, Dr. Hayward.
I do have to go to work, thank you very much, if you don't mind. I'm working on a very important research project with David. So I'll see you back at home, ok?
Tad: Ok. You just make sure you're not the subject he's trying to research, ok?
Dixie: I can handle David. You trust me?
Tad: Yeah, I trust you.
Dixie: Ok.
Tad: But --
Dixie: Old conversation. See you back at home, ok?
Tad: All right.

Dixie: Excuse me. Hey!
David: Hey.
Dixie: Was that Phil Gustafson?
David: Yes, it was. I have everything I need to get started right here. But I'm going to have to tell you, Dixie, I'm a little concerned. This drug has the potential of being even bigger than the Prion drug. It could change the quality of life for millions of people.
Dixie: Well, that's great. That's very exciting.
David: Yes, it is. Bui need to know that I can rely on you. And I need to know upfront, is tad going to pose a problem? Is he going to give you grief for working extra hours?
Dixie: No. Tad is going to be fine, ok? I can handle him. You can count on me.
David: Good. In that case, let's get to work.
Dixie: Ok.

Ryan: Can I get a glass of champagne, please.
Bartender: Sure. Celebrating?
Ryan: Yeah, something like that.

Gillian: Don't you want to go to New York, Jake?
Jake: No, not anymore.
Gillian: Why not?
Jake: Because you don't want to go to New York, Gillian. Not really. I mean, look at you. You're trying so hard to pretend to be strong and excited.
Gillian: I'm sorry.
Jake: No, don't be sorry. I'm the one who's sorry for rushing you when you clearly needed your time alone. And I want you to take that time. And I promise you I'm not going anywhere. You take all the time you need.

Ryan's voice: There is no us. Not anymore.

Erica: How fast can you pack? Do you need some help?
Bianca: Oh, no, no, no. I can take care of it, Mom.
Erica: Ok.
Bianca: Thanks, Uncle Jack.
Jack: You bet. Anytime.

[Jack laughs]

Erica: I'm so glad she's coming home.
Jack: Just go slow. You know, don't -- don't push her to talk. And when she does talk, listen to her. And that way maybe she'll talk more, huh?
Erica: You know, jack, everyone is saying to me that I'm not hearing my daughter and that I'm -- I'm making all of her needs about me.
Jack: Well, you've had years of practice, Erica.
Erica: Oh, come on, Jack. You know very well that the only thing I want is to give my daughter the very best life that I possibly can and, more importantly -- the most important thing -- is that she be happy. But she's not.
Jack: Well, that can't be much of a surprise. She just lost her father. She's been moved across the country and thrown into a new school.
Erica: But, I mean, it goes beyond the obvious reasons. There's something more, Jack, something very deep inside her that's causing her this pain. And whatever it is, it's huge. It's so huge that she can't manage it. And if she doesn't let someone help her, if she doesn't let it out, it's going to eat her alive. I've watched her go through that hell once before, jack, and I am not going to let that happen to her again.

ON THE NEXT - - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Jack: I'm going to say something to you, and you're not going to like it one little bit.

Leo: You want me to plant one on you for the closer? I could make it real good.

Gillian: There's something you need to know about Ryan.

David: Are you in awe of me, Dixie?

Mateo: I want you out of here. Leave town.
