ALL MY CHILDREN

OCTOBER 19, 2001

PREVIOUSLY ON - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

"John Ryan Curry." John Ryan Curry?

Leo: Greenlee was rooting through the trash at the hospital. Maybe she slipped this in here just now.
Laura: You really think Greenlee's that twisted?

Bianca: I think I'm going to ask Opal if it's ok with her if I sleep over tonight.

Chris: Let me take you home.
Erica: On one condition.
Chris: You name it.
Erica: Stay with me.

TODAY'S - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Mia: Hi. I just wanted to stop by and see how -- if you're ok, you know, how you're doing.

[Ryan pulls Mia into his motel room and they kiss]

Frankie: Bianca, where is this coming from?
Bianca: You know where it's coming from.
Frankie: No, I don't.
Bianca: Look, Frankie, you know that I'm gay, and all of a sudden it seems to be making you really nervous or something.
Frankie: No, I'm not.
Bianca: Yeah, you are. And I want to know if it's because you think I'm going to hit on you or something.
Frankie: Whoa, I --
Bianca: Frankie, if that's the reason that you're all scared all of a sudden, I just want you to know I would never force anything on you, ok? Not anything, ever.
Frankie: Yeah.
Bianca: And if you don't want me to stay here tonight, that's fine. I will find somewhere else to stay. Ok, Frankie, I'm backing off.
Frankie: That's not what I want.

[At the Pine Valley Inn dining room - - ]

Chris: I'll take you home.
Erica: But will you stay?
Chris: I'll bring your car around right away, Ms. Kane.

Jack: Well, there's certainly one thing you can say about your driver -- he is always on the job, is he not?
Erica: Yes, Mr. Stamp is very dependable, Jack, which is a lot more than I can say for you.
Jack: Something told me I should not come over here.
Erica: I mean it, Jack. You deserted me, you deserted your family.
Jack: Deserted my family? What the hell are you talking about?
Erica: And I will never forgive you for this, Jack. I mean never.

Leo: Are you all right?
Laura: Yeah, I am. I just -- I mean, who would it be if it's not her?
Leo: I've so had it with her.
Laura: Leo, you know what? We can just drop it. It's ok.
Leo: No, it -- it's not ok, Laura. She has to be stopped. I have to stop her.
Laura: Leo, no. Listen, I'm begging you, just leave Greenlee alone.

[Greenlee is startled by Jake while she is opening Leo and Laura's condo door]

Greenlee: What the hell are you trying to do, give me a heart attack?
Jake: I followed you here, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Now, why did you go and do that?
Jake: To tell you some bad news.
Greenlee: Oh, no. What?
Jake: You're going to jail.

Bianca: So what do you want?
Frankie: I want to do what we have been doing -- taking it easy, hanging out, nothing.
Bianca: You think this is nothing? I mean, Frankie, this is not nothing, what we've been doing, to me. Frankie?
Frankie: Ok. I don't really know what to do with all of this, all right?
Bianca: With all of what?
Frankie: I just didn't expect this.
Bianca: Frankie, why are you freaking out?
Frankie: I'm not freaking out, Bianca. I just didn't expect this.
Bianca: What's "this"? Frankie, what are you trying to say?

[Vanessa barges into Frankie's room trailed by Opal]

Bianca: Mrs. Cortlandt?
Frankie: Oh, you're not serious.
Vanessa: Are you Mary Frances Stone?
Frankie: Depends.
Vanessa: Oh, you are, aren't you? You're just like her.
Opal: Unknot your knickers, Vanessa. Just chill out now, would you?
Vanessa: You are my sister's child, right?
Frankie: Oh, yeah, you are my mom's sister, no doubt about that.
Vanessa: What are you doing here? Why are you in Pine Valley, of all places in the world?
Opal: Yeah, that's something I'd like to know, too, actually.
Frankie: Why, Opal? What difference does it make?
Opal: Difference? Well, it makes the difference between you sleeping here in my home or on a bench at the bus depot, that's the difference. Now, come on, I want to know, what are you up to? Why have you kept this from me and from everybody else in town?

Jack: Sit down. Please, sit.
Jack: Deserting my family? I would never desert my family, and I can't believe you're sitting there accusing me of such a ridiculous thing.
Erica: Well, you'd better believe it. You have completely let me down on this -- this Frankie Stone thing.
Jack: Frankie Stone is not a family issue.
Erica: It most certainly is.
Jack: How is that?
Erica: She's after me, she's after Bianca, and now I found out that she is Vanessa Cortlandt's niece.
Jack: Is that right?
Erica: Yes.
Jack: So isn't it possible that instead of coming to Pine Valley to hurl herself over the hood of your car and ruin your life in general, maybe she just came here to say hello to family?
Erica: Jack, she did not volunteer this information. I had to have someone uncover that.
Jack: "Someone"?
Erica: Ahem.
Jack: So, Frankie never told Bianca that she was Vanessa's niece?
Erica: Well, no, she told Bianca.
Jack: I see. So it wasn't a deep, dark secret that she was planning to wield against you, so why don't you just let this thing go, Erica? Why don't you leave this girl alone?
Erica: "Leave this girl alone?" Of course I'm not going to leave her alone. I certainly can't leave her alone with Bianca.
Jack: Ah. Sweetheart, Bianca is 17 years old and a very headstrong young woman. Where she gets that, I can't imagine. But I know that she will resent you interfering in her life and her choice of friends. And if you continue to do this, it will come back and it will bite you. I guarantee you that. You have got to give Bianca some freedom, Erica. And I'll tell you something else. You have to learn to accept that she is going to be alone with other women.
Erica: Oh, my God, Jack. This is not about Bianca's sexuality.
Jack: Erica, you are a lot of things, but you are not a fool.
Erica: No, I am not, and I am not about to let Bianca be --

[Chris comes back into the dining room]

Erica: Oh, Chris, I'm so glad that you're back. I am ready to go now.
Chris: Good, the car's out front.
Erica: Thank you.

Chris: Jackson.
Jack: Chris.

[Erica and Chris leave]

Jack: (talking to himself) My Chris, we've gotten a lot chummier, haven't we?

Leo: Laura, Greenlee is out of control. I have to do something --
Laura: Like what?
Leo: I don't know.
Laura: Leo, she just wants you to react, and I'm afraid whatever you do is just going to make things worse.
Leo: How?
Laura: Well, if you call the police or do something radical, I mean, she might backfire.
Leo: Laura, she went to the therapist and pretended to be you. I mean, I don't even know what to do with that in my brain, it's so out there. I think she's really losing it. She goes off on you in here in front of everyone. She puts a cuckoo bird in your pocketbook for whatever reason it's warped. She's warped. I mean, what's next?
Laura: I don't know. I mean, you don't think she'd get violent, do you?
Leo: No, I don't.
Laura: So then maybe when she freaked before, that was the worst of it. I mean, she's got Jake. Jake can help her through it.
Leo: Oh, Jake only makes things worse. He completely enables Greenlee. I'll tell you what -- she would be a lot better off without him around at all.

[Back at Laura and Leo's condo]

Greenlee: Jail? I'm not going to jail, Jake. What is your problem?
Jake: You step one foot into that condo, that's exactly where you're headed.
Greenlee: I'm not breaking in. I have the keys. Ugh, look, Laura's got one of these laminated photos of her and Leo on it.
Jake: You stole Laura's keys?
Greenlee: I did not. She left them in the ladies' room at the Valley inn. So I'm going to go in, put the keys on the table, and close the door behind me -- do my good deed for the day.
Jake: Greenlee, Greenlee, what the hell are you thinking?
Greenlee: Ok! Ok, fine. I am breaking in. Are you happy now? But I have a really, really good reason.
Jake: Oh, yeah, right. You're going to try to prove that Laura's crazy?
Greenlee: That's correct.
Jake: Do you know how crazy you sound right now?
Greenlee: You don't know the half of what she's up to with me these days, Jake. You should've heard her in the ladies' room.
Jake: What? What, another mad scene in a ladies' stall? Oh, come on.
Greenlee: Listen to me, Mr. Judgment, Laura is crazy and stupid. She actually told me she came up with a plan to wreck me and that it is in the condo.
Jake: Wait, a written plan? Is that what you're trying to say?
Greenlee: Yes. Yes. So when she dropped her keys, I decided to take them, and I'm going to find it and prove to everyone that she is one can short of a six-pack.
Jake: Let me tell you something right now -- you know what's going to happen to you if you get caught?
Greenlee: I'm not getting caught -- unless you rat me out. Jake, if you care about me at all, you'll let me do this and keep it to yourself.

[Greenlee goes into the condo]

Jake: Greenlee? Greenlee?

Laura: Leo, let's just forget what Greenlee did tonight, ok? Really. You know, let's just go home. I'm really tired. Oh, no.
Leo: What is it now?
Laura: My house keys are gone.
Leo: Greenlee.

[Ryan and Mia engage in some pillow talk after they make love]

Ryan: Why did you come here again?
Mia: To say hi, like I said.
Ryan: Did I say hi yet?
Mia: I don't care. I live in this motel, too, you know.
Ryan: Oh, so you're just being -- ahem -- neighborly, then?
Mia: You could say that, I guess.
Ryan: Do you do this with all your neighbors?
Mia: You know I don't.
Ryan: I'm talking about the searching through my things thing. I know what you did last time you were here, Mia. I was just wondering if you came back to do it again.

[Erica and Chris arrive at her house]

Erica: So, can you believe that Jack actually said that I was the problem, not that -- that -- thank you -- not that Frankie person?
Chris: I'm sorry. I know you want his help.
Erica: I need his help, and so does Bianca. I mean, I just don't understand. I mean, he's decided to become a public servant again, he goes back and becomes the DA again, and suddenly he doesn't have any time for his family? For our legal concerns? For our life issues?
Chris: Well, I don't -- I don't know how big Jackson's shoes are. I know you guys go way back. But I sure would like a shot at trying to fill those shoes.
Erica: You don't have to fill anybody else's shoes. Thank you. Thank you for finding out what you did about that Mary Frances and who she's related to. I mean, you would have to understand what kind of a despicable human being Vanessa is in order to really understand what the connection is.
Chris: I know all about Vanessa Cortlandt. I dig. That's part of my job. She's a known con artist from way back.
Erica: And -- and Frankie?
Chris: Frankie. Well, there's a big question mark next to that as to why she kept that part of her life under wraps. But it does tell me something about her.
Erica: And her motives.
Chris: Yeah.
Erica: I'm just so worried about Bianca. I mean, she's choosing this con artist with no ethics and a terrible attitude over me, her mother. I mean, she should be here with me right now. And instead -- I'll tell you the truth -- I feel like it's Bianca who's throwing herself in front of my car, and I don't want her to get hit, and I -- I want to stop her from getting hurt, and -- and I just don't know how.
Erica: You really are the only one who really understands. Chris, thank you.
Chris: You know, you called me by my first name when you were back there talking to Jackson, and this is the first time that you ever looked me in the eye and not said, "Mr. Stamp."

[Chris has his hands on Erica's shoulders]

Erica: You're touching me now, so I think it's time.
Chris: This is good.
Erica: I want you to call me Erica.
Chris: That's music to my ears.
Erica: I want you to call me Erica before you kiss me.

[Chris proceeds to kiss Erica's fingers, palm, wrist, arm and (finally) her mouth]

Chris: Erica. Erica. Erica.

[Meanwhile back at Leo & Laura's condo - Greenlee hunts for Laura's journal]

Greenlee: Where the hell does she put her stupid journal, anyway?
Jake: Greenlee, what are you doing?
Greenlee: Where does psycho put her playbook, huh?
Jake: Greenlee, listen, listen, you have exactly five seconds to wrap this up and get out of here with me, I'm telling you. Don't. If you don't, I swear I'm leaving you here alone. Five, four, three, two, one. Fine, fine, fine, I'll just -- I'll send you a card when you get to Statesville. Hey, hey -- wait, wait, listen, seriously, listen to me -- I know where you're coming from. I know what it's like to lose someone that you love so much and you don't know how your life can possibly be the same without them. Greenlee, listen, I went to a war zone, all right, and I practically dared them to try to kill me because I felt so rejected and so confused and I didn't realize that everything I was doing with my life meant that I was digging my own grave.
Greenlee: That's exactly what Laura said to me. She said I'm digging my own grave and that she was going to help me do it.
Jake: Wait a minute, she said that to you?
Greenlee: Yes!
Jake: Ok. You know what, you know what? This whole thing smells like a setup to me. I --
Greenlee: What do you mean? What do you mean, she didn't leave the keys by mistake? You mean she planted them there on purpose? She set me up?

[Car approaches]

[Car doors open and close]

Jake: Quiet. Don't move, don't move.
Greenlee: Oh, my God, Jake, is it them?

[Jakes peers out the window and sees Laura and Leo walking toward the condo]

Jake: Honey, they're home.

Vanessa: Young lady, have you any idea how humiliating it is to have my head ripped off by Erica Kane in public?
Frankie: Yeah, actually, I do.
Vanessa: Oh, really? What were you thinking?
Frankie: When, exactly?
Vanessa: When you came here without notifying me, taking up with Erica Kane's daughter of all people.
Bianca: Excuse me?
Vanessa: Why, I just mean -- we're not close. Our families don't -- don't --
Frankie: Mingle?
Vanessa: All right. I want you to get on the phone immediately and call your mother.
Frankie: Oh, and tell her how excited you were to see me?
Vanessa: No, I want you to get her -- have her get you a plane ticket, get you home where you belong.
Frankie: I don't have a home.
Bianca: Frankie is staying here in Pine Valley.
Vanessa: Oh, no. No, she is not. All right, I will buy the ticket. I don't care.
Opal: You'll buy the ticket? That'll be the day.
Vanessa: Opal, do you mind?
Opal: Yes, I do mind, actually.
Frankie: Vanessa, listen, I don't want your money and I don't want your plane ticket. I am not leaving. Basically, well, I don't want anything from you, which is why I didn't call you in the first place.
Vanessa: You cannot stay here.
Frankie: Oh, really?
Vanessa: Really.
Frankie: News flash -- I am not going anywhere. And this is my room, and, well, I don't remember inviting you, so why don't you go?
Opal: Yeah, why don't you go. I don't want you in my house. It's making the foundation crack.
Vanessa: What, you're kicking me out?
Opal: It's how we do it nice where I come from. Don't make me do it the junkyard dog way, okey-dokey?
Vanessa: She's the one you want out. Kick her out!
Opal: One annoyance at a time, Vanessa, and you just better skedaddle because I'm sure Palmer is just pacing the floorboards worried sick about you --
Vanessa: Just --
Opal: Now!.

[Vanessa leaves]

Opal: All right, start talking.
Frankie: Look, Opal, I didn't realize I was supposed to give my family history.
Opal: Do you know who she is?
Frankie: Yeah, well, obviously.
Opal: Look, you just park your smart mouth for a little minute here, missy. Now, I can understand and I can forgive a whole host of things, but that sorry excuse for a female that just stormed out of here is the biggest thorn of all the thorns in my side, all right? Now, you knew who she's married to and who I am, but you just forgot to mention that before you let Bianca talk me into giving you a job and a place to stay. Heck, you even let me defend you to Erica, my best friend.
Frankie: So is that it? You want me to go?
Bianca: No, Frankie, Frankie --
Frankie: No, it's all right. I'll pack my stuff tonight if that's what you want, Opal.
Opal: Well, I'm not going to toss your skinny, little behind out onto the street in the middle of the night. But tomorrow morning, you vamoose and you find yourself another place to stay, ok? All right. I'm sorry about this, Bianca. It didn't have to be this way.

[Opal leaves Frankie and Bianca alone]

Frankie: Fabulous.
Bianca: I'm sorry, Frankie.
Frankie: Once again my life is a mess, and now you're in the middle of it.
Bianca: Don't worry about me. Look, we're going to find you another place to stay tomorrow, ok?
Frankie: No, we are not. Ok, Bianca? Because I'm out of here.
Bianca: What, you mean you're out of town?
Frankie: Doesn't look like anyone else wants me around. Ok, there's you. I'm sorry, but, you know, Bianca, maybe this isn't the best idea.
Bianca: So that's it? You just cut and run? Things get tough, you get scared, and you leave?
Frankie: Bianca, you heard them. Come on, it's not like anyone's greeting me on the welcome wagon.
Bianca: You're so full of it.
Frankie: Full of what?
Bianca: Frankie, you're going to use Opal and Vanessa as the perfect excuse to leave town when the real reason you're leaving is me.
Frankie: Bianca --
Bianca: No. I asked you some tough questions tonight, and clearly you don't want to answer them for some reason, and that's why you're leaving.
Frankie: Bianca, you are making this so much harder than it has to be.
Bianca: Do you have any idea how hard this is for me?
Frankie: Yeah, actually, I do.
Bianca: No, you don't, Frankie. This is like my usual deja vu. I like someone. They like me, things are going great, and then all of a sudden some kind of alarm goes off in the other person and it's like a neon sign flashing above their head -- "I'm not gay, I'm not gay, I am not gay," and then they leave.
Frankie: Can you please not put words into my mouth and thoughts in my head?
Bianca: No, I'm through. I'm sick of this. Turn your alarm off, ok? Leave town. Stay. Do whatever the hell you want. I -- I'm done.
Frankie: What are you saying?
Bianca: I'm saying that, for one time in my life, I'm the one pulling back first, ok, Frankie? Have a nice life.

[Bianca walks out of Frankie's room and heads home]

[Back at the Pine Valley Motel]

Ryan: Ahem. Don't give me that "what's this, Ryan?" All right?
Mia: Ok.
Ryan: Ok, when I came back last time, I noticed that some of the stuff had been moved around, so I knew you were looking through my things.
Mia: I'm sorry, all right? I really apologize. It's just that I -- I wasn't really looking for anything specific. I just -- I do this thing sometimes.
Ryan: You do?
Mia: Yeah, it's like an old, bad habit. I -- well, after my mom died, I went to live with my uncle and I used to ask him about my father and he would just shut down. So sometimes I went through his papers to try to find something, anything about my father
Ryan: Did you ever find anything?
Mia: Well, I ended up here, but not because of anything that I found snooping. I -- I know this is going to sound really weird and lame, but I do this when I -- when I like someone. I'm like one of those people who goes through other people's bathroom cabinets.
Ryan: You're full of surprises, Mia.
Mia: So are you, Ryan. I just -- I wanted to know all about you.
Ryan: Why?
Mia: Because I like you. I really like you a lot.

[Leo and Laura walk into their condo, turn on the lights and find Jake standing in their front room - alone]

Leo: What the --
Jake: Sorry I startled you.
Leo: "Startled"? Jake, you're standing in the middle of our living room.
Jake: Yeah, yeah. Actually, I came by and noticed the keys were in the door. That's the way a lot of break-ins happen. So I just used the key and I came in. I decided to wait a few minutes to see if you came back. Um -- those yours, Laura?
Laura: Yeah, thanks.
Jake: Don't mention it. I've done it dozens of times. Listen, I'm sorry if I upset you for coming in.
Leo: Where's Greenlee?
Jake: She's back at the loft.
Leo: You sure about that?
Jake: Well, actually, I am. I followed her back there because she was pretty upset about what went down there at the Valley Inn. So I told her to get some sleep and just try to get some rest tonight. Decided to come over here so I can see you.
Leo: I don't believe you
Jake: I'm sorry to hear that, Leo.
Leo: You know, while you're busy defending Greenlee, you want to tell me what the hell she was doing putting this in my wife's bag? Some kind of sick, subliminal message? Is that it? Your new girlfriend's gone over the edge, Jake. You can tell her from me that if she so much as looks funny at my wife ever again that I will come after her, ok? I will stop her myself.

[Noise]

Laura: What was that?

Leo: I don't know.

[Leo goes to check out the noise]

Leo: There was nothing in there.
Laura: It sounded like something fell.
Leo: Yeah, like a window slammed shut. But I don't remember leaving any windows open in the bedroom, do you, Laura?
Laura: We didn't. I guess it could've fallen from outside, though.
Leo: Hmm. What do you think?
Jake: Beats me.
Leo: Listen, Laura, why don't you go get ready for bed. You look tired.
Laura: Yeah, I am.
Leo: I'm going to talk to him for a minute.
Laura: Ok. Good night, Jake.
Jake: Good night, Laura.

Leo: You see how nervous she is?
Jake: Yeah.
Leo: Greenlee did that to her. Laura's afraid that Greenlee is going to show up everywhere and harass her. I can't let this go on, Jake. I will make it stop. Do you hear me?
Jake: You know what, Leo? I think I should go.
Leo: So soon? Aren't you going to tell me why you really showed up here, Jake?
Jake: You know what? You're not in a space right now to talk to me.
Leo: Really?
Jake: Yeah.
Leo: What, about Greenlee?
Jake: About anything. I apologize. I'm sorry if I came in uninvited.
Leo: Yeah.

[Jake leaves - Leo peeks out his window and sees Greenlee]

Greenlee: Jake -- Jake!
Jake: What are you still doing here?
Greenlee: Thank you so much for covering for me. I was climbing out the bedroom window, and -- you should see how awful the bedroom is.
Jake: We've got to get out of here.
Greenlee: I know. The window slammed shut, and I couldn't leave you after everything that you said for me.
Jake: Greenlee, I told you to get out of there the minute --
Greenlee: I know, I know! I couldn't desert you, not after what you did for me.
Jake: All right, listen, thank me when we get home. Come on.

[Ryan shows Mia a old, slightly burned photo]

Ryan: That's my mother.
Mia: Oh, I love this picture. I mean, I saw it before. It's just that I didn't think that it could be your mother because -- I mean, I didn't think it was possible.
Ryan: Why?
Mia: Well, I don't know. She looks kind of silly and kind of goofy.
Ryan: Yeah, well, I took -- I took that on a blue sky day.
Mia: What's that?
Ryan: Remember how I told you that living with my -- with my dad was kind of like living hell?
Mia: Yeah.
Ryan: Well, he used to travel a lot or just, actually, take off a lot. And my brother and I never really asked why because when he was gone, it was awesome -- with my mom, at home. It was kind of like when he was there she was darkness and when he was away she was sunshine.
Mia: And those were blue sky days. What were they like?
Ryan: Like living on the best place on earth. She would -- she'd get herself all fixed up and take Braden and I out and just -- I don't know -- do crazy, meaningless things. One time she made us watch her jump in the ocean, swim around with her clothes on, in the middle of November.
Mia: Really?
Ryan: There was a time where she challenged us to see who could climb higher in this tree that we found on a hike -- you know, like who could climb higher. Of course, she always won.
Mia: She sounds great.
Ryan: On those days, she was. The rest of the time, she was a mess. She bought me the camera that I took this picture with. I think I must've taken about four rolls of film that day, all of her.
Mia: Where are the other pictures?
Ryan: Day that I got them developed -- ahem -- my dad came home from one of his trips or one of his binges or whatever you want to call them. And he walked in, and we were at the kitchen table looking at all the shots, all the pictures. And we were laughing, having a great time, and he kind of lost it. Grabbed all of them and threw them in the fireplace and burned them. This is the only one I could save. I used to live for blue sky days. They were the best.
Mia: Do you still find them sometimes?

[Bianca arrives home and Erica comes downstairs in her nightgown]

Erica: Bianca?

Bianca: I'm not seeing Frankie anymore.
Bianca: Go right ahead and breathe that sigh of relief.
Erica: Bianca.
Bianca: You don't have to say it, Mom. I know. Another bad-move relationship headed off at the pass, right?
Erica: Look, Honey, I know that you don't want to hear this right now, but, truly, if you had gotten involved with that girl, it would've been just -- it would've been so wrong.
Bianca: Can I ask you a question, Mom?
Erica: Of course you can.
Bianca: When is it going to be right for me in your mind, according to you? I would really like to know.
Erica: Bianca, please don't start --
Bianca: When is it going to be ok for me to have a girlfriend? You know, a relationship, like you straight people have?
Erica: Oh, Bianca, don't --
Bianca: When is it going to be ok with you for me to have sex? Huh, Mom?

Mia: So how long was your dad around before he left for good?
Ryan: Too long. But when he was -- when he was gone for good, I actually convinced myself that we would have blue sky days forever. Problem was that my mom actually fell for the guy. And when she realized he was gone for good, she started taking on some of his least attractive traits.
Mia: That when she started abusing you and your brother? I'm so sorry, Ryan.
Ryan: Yeah, I'm sorry, too. He took her away from us when he was there and he took her away from us when he left her behind. I've been looking for blue sky days ever since.

Bianca: It's ok. That's ok. I got it already. It will never be ok with you for me to have a relationship, a sexual relationship with a woman.
Erica: Bianca -- look, Honey, you're still a child.
Bianca: Like hell.
Erica: Oh, come on. Don't talk like that.
Bianca: Do you ever think what it's going to be like for me when I do meet someone? Someone special, someone to love, spend my life with, a partner?
Erica: But you have your whole life ahead of you. Bianca: To meet a woman?
No, you mean I have my whole life ahead of me to get over this gay thing and meet a man, right? Guess what, Mom -- it's not happening. And you know what the really sad part about that is, is that you will never, ever be able to accept that.
Erica: You know, Bianca, I really think that we should talk about this some other time.
Bianca: Why not now?
Erica: It's just not the right time.
Bianca: When is the right time?
When --

[Chris comes down the stairs, from Erica's bedroom, with his shirt unbuttoned]

[Laura wakes up and starts looking for Leo]

Laura: Leo?
Laura: Where'd you go now?

[Back at the Pine Valley Inn dining room - - ]

Jack: So, Maura, is that the way they say your beautiful name in Italian?
Maura: So my grandmother told me.
Jack: And your grandmother --

Leo: I need to speak to you for a minute.
Jack: Excuse you.
Leo: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Really. Really, five minutes. Come on.
Jack: Excuse me.
Maura: Of course.
Jack: Thank you.

Jack: Leo, do the words "long dry spell" mean anything to you? Do you know how long it's taken me to get this woman to come to dinner?
Leo: I know, but -- I was going to go straight to the police, but I had to come to you first.
Jack: What about?
Leo: I need you to bring charges against Greenlee Smythe.
Jack: What kind of charges?
Leo: What, you mean besides disturbing my peace? Well, we have harassment, breaking and entering, and reckless endangerment.
Jack: Ok, then, what -- what exactly has she done?
Leo: The question is, what hasn't she done, Jack? She's guilty of all of it.

[Greenlee and Jake go back to his loft]

Greenlee: I still can't get over what you did for me back at Leo's.
Jake: Yeah, well, I saved your butt.
Greenlee: I know, like, amazingly. But why?
Jake: I didn't want to, believe me. I just thought I would try it, but I almost didn't.
Greenlee: What? Jake: No, no, it's just after Leo had told me the story about the stupid cuckoo bird that Laura had from the clock at the hospital, said that you were trying to plant it in her purse to freak her out or something --
Greenlee: Which is so insane.
Jake: I know, I know. That's why I covered for you.
Greenlee: You know I didn't do that, right?
Jake: I know it's completely not your style.
Greenlee: Thank you!
Jake: You are out there. You are completely nuts, there's no doubt about that. But this stupid bird thing borderlines on the psychotic.
Greenlee: I know.
Jake: You did push her off the yacht last fall.
Greenlee: Hello. I was drugged, Jake. I'm not drugged now and I am telling you I did not do any of the things she says I've done. But Laura has done every single thing that I've described to you.
Jake: It is bizarre.
Greenlee: Yeah, well, she's been acting more than bizarre lately. She's homicidal.
Jake: I don't know what to make of all of this. I just -- I know that she's been through hell and I know she's been through a trauma that most of us could never even imagine, but --
Greenlee: Trust me when I tell you she's rebounded.
Jake: It appears so. And I know that you did not put that stupid cuckoo bird in her bag.
Greenlee: You do?
Jake: And I know why you're so desperate to prove that she's out to get you.
Greenlee: Oh, my God, Jake, are you saying that you believe me?
Jake: I do believe you. Greenlee: Thank you. Thank you, Jake.

Jack: I'll be right back.
Maura: Ok.

Jack: Yes, I'm coming, I'm coming. And, yes, that does constitute harassment, if what you've told me is true.
Leo: All of it is, I swear.
Jack: Leo, are you sure you want to take this this far? You sure --
Leo: I want Greenlee arrested, ok? I want her thrown into jail tonight!

ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Arlene: How about giving him a little mother's milk? It's what I gave you.

Bianca: You're telling me when it's right and wrong to have sex, and you've just been to bed with him?

Leo: I just talked to the DA. I told him I want you arrested.
