ALL MY CHILDREN

SEPTEMBER 14, 2000

Leo: There she is, Miss America.
Bianca: Don't make me hit you, Leo.
Leo: So has Greenlee stirred from her boudoir yet?
Bianca: I haven't seen her, and I really hope that she sleeps in until my mom is out of here for the day.
Leo: I'm getting such a kick knowing that Greenlee slept in the laundry room last night.
Bianca: You know, Leo, you still haven't told me why she has to hide out here. Is this something that I should worry about?

[Greenlee screams]

Greenlee: He's one of Wade's hit men! He's going to knock me off!
Leo: Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy.
Bianca: Are you ok, Tom? Who is Wade?
Greenlee: "Tom"? Are you on a first-name basis with my assassin, Bianca?
Tom: Bianca, this woman nearly gave me a heart attack!
Leo: Greenlee, he's the dry-clean delivery guy.
Greenlee: Since when does the dry cleaning delivery guy have his own key?
Leo: Whose house is this? Erica Kane's dry cleaning bill is the size of a third-world nation's GNP
Bianca: Look, Tom, I'm really sorry about this.
Greenlee: Don't apologize to that perv!
Bianca: Hey!
Greenlee: No, excuse me, I was bending over the dryer in my birthday suit --
Leo: Whoa! Man.
Greenlee: When this guy --
Leo: No wonder you look so pale, Tom.
Greenlee: Leo!
Leo: What? It's just too funny not to laugh at, Greenlee.
Bianca: I don't know what's going on here, but, Tom didn't do anything wrong.
Greenlee: Except gawk. Am I right, Peeping Tom?
Bianca: I will walk you back out. Come on. It's ok.

Greenlee: I was sure he was one of Wade Randall's goons here to kill me.
Leo: I know, Greenlee, but he's not. You're safe.
Greenlee: Leo, I'm seriously scared.

Stuart: It's me, Adam. Really. I'm ok. So are you.
Adam: No. Stuart, no, it can't be. The cabin and the fire --
Stuart: No, it wasn't me, Adam. I feel real sorry for whoever it was, but it wasn't me.
Adam: Where have you been?
Stuart: I was in a really bad car accident, and I hurt my head pretty good. I didn't remember anything about me or you or anything for a really long time. Look, you need to rest now, ok? We have a lot of time to talk about this because we're both ok now.
Adam: Oh, dear God!
Stuart: We got a lot of catching up to do, you know? And a fishing trip to take. And we'll go just as soon as you feel better, ok?
Adam: Stuart, I did this to you. We lost you because --
Stuart: No, forget about that. It's over.
Adam: But I hurt you. I hurt everyone.
Stuart: I bet I'm the only one in this room that knows why. You always thought you had to be so tough. When we were little, the only way to protect me was to be tough and push people around. Well, in those old days I guess maybe I did need you to do that for me, but I should have -- I should have told you that I can take care of myself now, all by myself. I'm very strong. I'm really very strong. I'm almost as strong as you are. You gave me that.
Adam: You've given me my life back.
Stuart: And what a life it's going to be. You look around you -- the people in this room, how much love there is. It's right there for you to take if you just let it in. Your kids are crazy about you -- Colby and Skye. All you have to do is stop pushing them away and you can have a life full of love and laughter. Don't you see that?
Adam: I --

David: Excuse me, Stuart. I have to get in here.
Stuart: Ok.
David: We thought we lost you.
Stuart: He's not lost anymore.
Hayley: Uncle Stuart --
Stuart: Hayley. Junior.
David: Look at me for a minute, Adam.

Arlene: He's wide awake. He's talking.
Brooke: I can't believe it.
Dixie: Look at Junior. Look at how happy he is.
Tad: He looks great. They all do.
Brooke: Stuart saved them.

Erica: Did I hear someone say Stuart?
Arlene: I -- I found Stuart and brought him back to Adam. I saved my husband's life. Look.
Erica: Oh, I have to go tell.

Marian: You almost killed Stuart, Arlene. You didn't save anyone.

Erica: David, you won't believe who's alive! Uh -- yeah -- I -- you look like someone I used to know.
Erica: Dimitri?
Dimitri: It's me, Erica. Whoa, whoa.

[Erica faints]

Leo: You dropped your toga.
Greenlee: I did?
Leo: Mm-hmm.

Bianca: Mom? Hey, Mom! You get naked at the drop of a hat, don't you?
Greenlee: This is so not funny.
Leo: Greenlee was just saying that she had to go to the laundry room to get her clothes so she could put on something to wear. Isn't that right, Greenlee?
Greenlee: Whatever.

Leo: So, looks like your mom got an early start this morning.
Bianca: Who's Wade? Be straight with me, Leo.
Leo: Ok. Wade is a guy who loaned Greenlee some cash, and she can't pay him back, and he's impatient.
Bianca: Oh, man. Is he connected?
Leo: Yeah.
Bianca: How did Greenlee get mixed up with this creep?
Leo: Real bad judgment. But I just -- we just have to keep her safe until I get the all-clear from Lt. Frye that Wade is handled.
Bianca: You know, if I actually liked Greenlee, I might feel sorry for her.
Leo: Greenlee acts from her gut. She's totally irresponsible and completely decisive all at the same time. That's what I love about her.
Bianca: What else do you love about Greenlee?
Leo: Don't get any ideas.
Bianca: Hey, you were the one who said you loved her.
Leo: That's not what I said. She's a friend. We're pals, just like you and me, Bianca.
Bianca: Oh, yeah. Just like us. Right.

David: Your pulse is normal. I guess those antibiotics really kicked in. Looks like you're going to be fine, Adam. Just take it slow for a while.
Hayley: We'll see to it that he does.
David: Normally, I would throw all of you out of here, but I guess I can let you stay for a little while longer.
Stuart: Thank you, Doc.
David: It's good to see you again, Stuart.
Stuart: Yeah, you, too.

Junior: Hey, Dad. How you doing? Doc says you're going to be ok.
Adam: Yeah. I hope so, Son. I have a lot of making up to do. Especially to you.
Junior: Don't worry about me, Dad. I'll be fine.
Adam: But I do worry about you. I've been one rotten dad to you.
Junior: You told me to forget about you. But I couldn't. And even though it seemed like sometimes you hated me, I still love you. You're my dad.
Adam: I love you, too. I never stopped. And I never will.

Marian: You dare to stand here and say that you saved Adam, and you almost killed Stuart and kept him away from all of us? You drank yourself into a stupor, Arlene, and got behind the wheel of a car, probably for the hundredth time, didn't you? You got behind the wheel of a car, drunk, and you hit Stuart and you left him lying in the road, lying there to bleed to death!
Brooke: The night Arlene ran into the community center was the same night Stuart disappeared.
Marian: You mowed down a man, and then what did you do, Arlene? You drove away like nothing was wrong, like nothing ever happened. Dear good Lord, w do you live with yourself, Arlene? Tell me that, will you? Brooke you said that night that you did it again, but you didn't say what it was because you were so drunk! You were so drunk you couldn't even finish a sentence. Or did you just shut up, you know, so you could cover your tracks?
Arlene: I don't know what you're talking about. I don't remember anything --
Brooke: When are you going to stop? When are you going to stop, when you finally manage to kill somebody? You stupid, ignorant --
Eliot: Brooke, let's get out of here.
Brooke: Let me --
Eliot: You don't want to do this now.

Arlene: I'm not heartless. I'm not. Look, I woke up the next morning, and I didn't remember anything about Stuart or hitting him or -- look, I didn't even know what happened to him until I found out that he was at that Queen of Hearts cafe in the desert weeks later.
Tad: He was out there?
Dixie: That place in Nevada.
Tad: What was he doing all the way out there?

Stuart: Hey, everybody. Adam's feeling much better. Hey, Tad.
Tad: Stuart, you are one good-looking guy.
Stuart: Hi, Dixie.
Dixie: We all missed you so much. You have no idea what it was like without you.
Stuart: You know, I don't really want to talk about all the things we thought we lost. Let's just -- I just want to forget all about all that stuff, ok?
Marian: Oh, no, Stuart. You can't forget about what Arlene did. And I know I'll never forget, because she has to pay for what she did, Stuart, and you're the only one who can make her pay. So make her pay!

Dimitri: Come on, don't make me worry about you, now. Come on. There you go. There, that's it. That's it.
Erica: Dimitri? My angel. Oh, you're my angel.
Dimitri: Yes, yes, well, I had to turn my wings in. Look, they're all gone. See that? I'm sorry I frightened you. This wasn't the way I wanted you to find out that I was still alive.
Erica: I can't believe it.
Dimitri: Yeah, well, I had to swear Bianca to secrecy.
Erica: Bianca knows?
Dimitri: Yeah, yeah. She found out by accident. I told her to keep it a secret because I needed some time before I let everyone know that I hadn't died, that I was in fact still alive.
Erica: Oh, you're here. You're here. What else matters? Oh, Dimitri. Oh, I don't know what I did without you. I thought I was in love with someone else, but I was wrong. And all the while, I kept thinking, "oh, if only Dimitri were here. If only I had him by my side." Then I wouldn't make all these painful mistakes because he would save me from myself. Oh, Alex! Alex, isn't it incredible? Dimitri's alive.
Alex: Yes, I thank God every moment for it.
Dimitri: Excuse me.
Alex: Even this morning, when I woke up next to him. I couldn't believe my husband was back with me.

Marian: Mateo, do you have a cell phone that Stuart can call Lt. Frye with?
Stuart: Oh, no, Marian. It's ok.
Marian: No, please, Stuart.
Stuart: I'm not calling the police.
Marian: Look, you have to call them.
Stuart: No, I can't. Marian, I have to do what I feel is right in my heart. You remember the whole time that I was alone, walking around, not knowing who I was, trying to feel the things that I thought I was supposed to feel because the things that I was really feeling I couldn't remember in my head. And it was driving me nuts. And then all of a sudden, out of the air, I painted your picture -- the Queen of Hearts, and that made me feel so good. But it made me feel so angry because I knew I was this close to knowing what I was supposed to feel. I just couldn't get to it. And then Arlene came along, and she -- she made me remember things -- noises and voices.
Marian: But, Stuart, why didn't she bring you home back to us?
Stuart: I guess because she was afraid. And because she wasn't supposed to. I was supposed to find my own way, my own way home. Don't you understand? Blaming Arlene isn't going to do anything for us. I'm here. We're together. Everything worked out exactly the way it should.
Marian: But, Stuart, you weren't supposed to get hurt. You weren't supposed to lose your memory. And all of that happened because of Arlene.
Stuart: Marian, I was lost before Arlene ever hit me with that car. I had turned my back on my brother at a time when he needed me most. I had stopped feeling, and I had to learn how all over again, the hard way. Arlene, I don't blame you. I want to thank you.
Arlene: Oh, my God.
Stuart: You -- you brought me back here in time to save my brother's life. That must have been terrifying for you. I'll never forget what you did, Annie Oakley. Never.

Adam: I hear you're on the JV soccer team this year.
Junior: How'd you know about that?
Adam: Well, I keep up. Not as much as I should, but, well, I haven't been myself. Junior, I am so proud of you. I'm proud of who you are, who you are right now. Hey, I think I owe you a fishing trip, don't I?
Junior: You do.
Adam: Ok, you hold me to it.
Junior: I love you, Dad.
Adam: I love you, too.
Junior: I'm glad you're back.
Adam: Me, too.

Adam: Hayley.
Hayley: Yeah, Dad?
Adam: I want to talk to you about your wedding day. No, don't say it doesn't matter. I missed something incredible and important that day. I should have been there to tell you that you honor me every day. I should have walked you down the aisle and watched you marry your husband. Mateo's -- he's a fine man. He really loves you. I love you, too, so don't give up on me.
Hayley: I missed you so much. Don't you ever try to leave me again.
Adam: Ok, you got it.
Hayley: Listen --
Adam: What?
Hayley: You have to get some rest, ok? We'll stay here. Just promise me that you're going to get some sleep.
Adam: Ok, I promise. There's one more person I'd like to see first.
Hayley: I'll go get her. I love you.
Adam: I love you.

Arlene: Stuart, I don't know how I'll be able to thank you.
Arlene: Stuart, I don't know how I'll be able to thank you. You're an incredible man.

Hayley: Hey, have you guys seen Liza?
Tad: She was here a minute ago. I don't know where she went.
Dixie: Is your dad looking for her?
Hayley: Yeah, he is. I just hope she'll see him.

Eliot: What are you thinking?
Brooke: I'm scared.
Eliot: What are you scared of, Brooke?
Brooke: Of this feeling, this rage.
Eliot: I understand. What Arlene did was -- Brooke: It's not about Arlene. It's about him.
Eliot: Him? Who?
Brooke: I'm just -- I'm right back to that day when my daughter was killed by that drunk behind the wheel of a car. I feel as much anger now as I did on that horrible, horrible day.
Eliot: Brooke, do you think it would -- it could help if you saw him again?
Brooke: Nothing is going to make this any easier, ever. But in some strange and some painful way, it's like when I tell you about it, it helps me. It's helping me now.
Eliot: How?
Brooke: Before I met you, I never faced this anger, not in any real way, at least. And even though it's been horrible for me to go through, it's like -- I feel like something is lifting, and it's because of you, I think. Eliot, since my daughter died, you are the first person I have ever been able to lose myself with. Do you understand what I'm saying? I get scared when I think about you leaving. I don't want you to go.
Eliot: I wish that I could stay with you forever, Brooke.
Brooke: Then, please -
- Eliot: But I can't.

Erica: Well, may I ask you a question?
Dimitri: Can I stop you?
Erica: Why is it that everyone so delightfully and blindly understands this woman? I mean, she collects men like hamsters. One of them dies and she reaches in the cage and grabs another one.
Alex: Why, does that sound familiar to you?
Erica: Oh, I'm not speaking to you. I'm speaking to my --
Alex: Your what? Your what, Erica?
Erica: Oh, I bet you have Edmund on a string even now, don't you?
Dimitri: All right, all right, come on. This is enough. Alex is my wife. She thought I was dead, and you have no right to keep commenting on what you don't know and can't understand right now.
Erica: Don't do this, Dimitri. Don't choose her over Edmund. How could you do that, Dimitri, please. I'm just trying to stop you from trashing your life.
Dimitri: No, no, no, what you are doing, Erica, is driving me to a point where I won't speak to you ever again, and I don't want that to happen. Now, stop it.

Erica: Oh!

Bianca: Oh, Mom!
Leo: What is it now?
Bianca: Look at this checklist she left for me. It's like a minute-by-minute itinerary of what I have to get done today. And she even put little boxes for me to check off on my way. How much is a plane ticket to Fiji?
Leo: Beats me.
Greenlee: You won't have enough to go to the Amish country in a bus after I charge you for what your clothes dryer did to my couture ensemble.
Bianca: Greenlee, can I ask what you were thinking when you put your ensemble in the dryer?
Leo: No, be easy on her, Bianca. This is Greenlee's first time in the laundry room.
Bianca: Have you ever heard of the words "dry clean only"?
Greenlee: Oh, should I call Peeping Tom?
Bianca: I'll go get you something of mine to wear.
Greenlee: You know, your mother actually has this green jacket that I --
Bianca: Greenlee, my mother is about two sizes smaller than you.

Leo: Oh, meow!
Greenlee: You know, she is such a bore. She's not even excited about having this amazing party thrown in her honor. Little ingrate. I wish I could go and liven things up.
Leo: No, no, no. You're not going anywhere until I make sure that wade is neutralized.
Greenlee: I could go in disguise. A wig, hat, mustache --
Leo: No, forget it, Greenlee. I'm going to have my hands full just escorting Bianca and making sure she doesn't run off like Cinderella.

Bianca: Here. Pick what you want.
Greenlee: Yeah, right.
Leo: Come on, Bianca. Let's get to that errand list before your mother cuts off my guest privileges.
Bianca: Ok, I'm ready. Oh, Greenlee, don't touch my mother's things. I mean it.
Leo: Stay, Greenlee.

Greenlee: I am going to that damn party.

Stuart: Arlene, are you ok?
Arlene: Yeah, thanks, Stuart. I'm just going to splash my face with a little water.
Stuart: Ok.

Mateo: That's all I heard, all right? Stuart, he's not into paybacks.
Hayley: Just when I think my mother can't do anything else to harm herself or other people.
Mateo: I know. I know.
Hayley: I don't want to be here anymore. Come on, take me out of here. Let's go for a walk.
Mateo: Ok.

Dixie: Your dad told you that he loved you, huh?
Junior: He's changed, Mom. He's a better person than he used to be.
Dixie: Well, that's great. I'm really happy for you.
Tad: You must be hungry. What do you say we go get something to eat and you can come back and spend some more time with your dad?
Junior: Please.
Dixie: Oh, great, ok. Go ahead. I love you.
Tad: I love you, too.
Dixie: See you in a bit. Bye.

David: Hey. You look tired. If you like, you can take a nap in my office. The couch is really comfortable.
Dixie: Thanks. I'm ok. I'm not tired. I'm going to go say hi to Stuart.
David: Ok. Dixie: Excuse me.

Tad: You care about her, don't you?
David: Well, she was a patient of mine once, and now she works for me, so --
Tad: I get it. I get it loud and clear. But here's the thing -- she's got a family who loves her a lot, and we do a really good job of looking after her, so you don't have to. You understand?

Scott: Tad?
Tad: Yeah
? Scott: Hi. I got Marian's message to come right down. What -- what's going on? I thought Uncle Adam was in critical condition.
Tad: Scott, you better hang on to something, because that isn't Adam.

Scott: Dad.
Stuart: Scott.

Liza: So, since I fell in love with Adam, you know, nothing's been really quite right. I mean, we break up and we get back together, and we break up, and we just keep doing it over and over again -- fighting and getting even and -- I suppose what I'm asking is that you just put an end to it. I mean, I think I can do it, but I think I need a little divine intervention. So, what I'm asking is if you can just end the way that I feel for Adam. Can you just keep me from loving him?

Marian: Liza? Adam has been asking for you.

David: Erica! What the hell are you doing?
Erica: David, you'll never believe it. Dimitri is alive. He's back! But the thing is his life is already trashed because he's already in the clutches of that witch!
[David laughs]

Greenlee: Hello, I'm Lila Hausenfraus from Gstaad, and you would be?
Wade: Wade Randall. Nice outfit. But I'd recognize you anywhere, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Oh, my God. How did you get in here?
Wade: Thought you would have known me better than that by now. You cannot hide from me -- ever.

Erica: What are you laughing at? Why are you laughing? What, are you laughing at me?
David: No. Actually, I'm laughing at myself. You know, I can't believe what a fool I am for ever thinking that I could make you love me, Erica, and that I could make you forget Dimitri. Well, I'm out of the running. We're through. And as far as I'm concerned, you can spend the rest of your life alone or tormenting so other poor sap while you pine away for a man you can never have. I could care less.
Erica: Oh, you care, all right. I know you care because you spent all your time with me trying to prove that you were the bigger man, that you were the better lover. Well, now that we're through, I can tell you the truth. You never even came close, not even once. Do I make myself clear, Dr. Strangelove? You're a loser, and you always will be.

Dixie: Hey. Looks like Adam's asleep.
Tad: Good. Your son and I are about ready to go home. You want to come?
Dixie: Yeah. I'm going to stop by the office first, though. I'll see you in a bit, ok?
Tad: Ok.
Dixie: Ok. Let me kiss you.
Junior: Bye, Mom.
Dixie: See you. Sorry.
Tad: Hey, Babe.
Dixie: See you.
Junior: Let's go, loser.
Tad: Yeah, and you drive.

Arlene: Ok, Hayley. I know you want to rip me apart. Go ahead.
Hayley: Actually, I don't. What you did tonight, bringing Uncle Stuart here to see dad, is actually the only thing you've ever done that proves something to me.
Arlene: What's that?
Hayley: That you do have a heart. And I would be most appreciative if you would use it more often, Mom.

Liza: Just a little something for you to chew on, Arlene? I don't know how many people you're going to have to answer to, but just know that I'm high on your list.

ON THE NEXT - - - ALL MY CHILDREN

Edmund: We're going to present a united front to the world, even if it's a lie.

Leo: My God, Greenlee. What happened?

Dixie: David, are you in there?
David: She's got her keys.

Gillian: And I have to tell Jake the truth.
Ryan: About us? Now?
Gillian: He deserves to know.
