ALL MY CHILDREN

SEPTEMBER 4, 2000

[Explosion]

Ryan: You ok?
Gillian: Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine.
Ryan: We're American civilians. This is just for protection.
Gillian: We're looking for a doctor.
Ryan: Does anybody speak English?
[Speaking French]

Gillian: Vous etes francais?

Man: Aye, but I speak English.
Ryan: Oh, good, good, I'm Ryan.
Gillian: I'm Gillian.
Man: Luc.
Ryan: Is this -- are you with the Red Cross?
Luc: No, we are independent. I mean, I stayed behind with some others when the Red Cross pulls out.
Ryan: Ok, I'm trying to get this woman over the border. Is there anybody here that can help me?
Luc: I'm sorry, I cannot leave the wounded for one healthy person.

[Moaning]

Gillian: Of course not.
Luc: Excuse moi.
Gillian: Ryan, listen, would you just stop it? I'm here, so you just better get used to it.
Ryan: I should've turned that plane around. I should've made that plane turn around.
Gillian: No, I was not going back, ok? I'm here because I want to be here.
Ryan: Well, that's not what I want, Gillian. You're going back and you don't -- don't you dare fight me on this.
Gillian: Or what?

Greenlee: You really got Vanessa to come onboard?
Leo: She's been looking for an in with me. I decided to give her one.
Greenlee: For you to deal with her at all is major, Leo, thanks.
Leo: Thank me when we're out of this mess.
Greenlee: Which is Ryan's fault, let's not forget.
Leo: Yeah, we'll think of ways to torture him later.
Greenlee: Will Vanessa make her entrance on cue?
Leo: She always does.
Greenlee: Well, Wade is definitely looking to make my grandfather's business a cover. He's already dreaming up new scams.
Leo: Good. If Wade buys this con, he'll get off your back and we can resume our lives already in progress. Back up. What the hell's your grandpa doing here?
Greenlee: If Wade sees him, we're toast. I told him Granddaddy was too sick to get out of bed.
Leo: Yeah, well, get Pops out of here before Wade smells blood in the water.

Arlene: Frank, you know how appreciative I am. You just think of the next step in the process, and I'll think of the right way to thank you. Do you actually have people on your payroll that would do that? Oh, I love that. No labor riots, ok? Just work stoppage. Anything to bring down Col-Mar. Hmm. Well, if that's what turns you on. It'll be our secret. Oh, ok, I got to go. Talk to you later. Hey, Sweetie, I was just about to call you.

Adam: What the hell do you think you're doing?

Scott: Would you please sit? You're making me dizzy just watching you.
Marian: I can't help it. I feel like my body is running at light speed.
Scott: You realize this isn't just a long shot, this is a total leap of faith.
Marian: But what if Frederick's right? What if Stuart is not on the other side? Scott: I -- I can't even consider that.
Marian: Even after that fishing lure that Adam found?
Scott: You still convinced that's some kind of a message from the great beyond?
Marian: It could've been a message from Stuart himself.
Scott: Do you realize what you're saying?
Marian: Scott, I have never been as clear-headed as I am right now. I feel we have to be asking ourselves, why can't Frederick find Stuart on the other side?
Scott: Maybe -- maybe he's a lousy psychic. I don't know.
Marian: No, he's not. I've checked, and everyone says he's the best there is.
Scott: So why do you think he can't contact him?
Marian: Because maybe he's not on the other side. Maybe Stuart's not dead.
Liza: Stop it, mother! Please.

Ryan: Why are you even arguing with me?
Gillian: Because we've been dodging bullets together, and there's no way that I'm going back now.
Ryan: I can't get Jake out of here and worry about you at the same time.
Gillian: Ryan, even if I wanted to go home, there's no way I can get out of here.
Ryan: Princess, you don't want to die here, do you?
Gillian: I'm not planning on letting either one of us die.

[Explosion]

Gillian: Oh! That was closer.
Ryan: Yes. Yes, it was. They're trying to pinpoint this location. It's only a matter of time before they hit it.
Gillian: We have to get Jake.
Ryan: Gillian, will you just listen to me!
Gillian: Ryan, listen, don't you argue you with me, ok? Once we can find Jake, we can tell him the truth, and then we'll finally be free.

Man: Luc!

[Speaking French]

Gillian: Oh, poor man. I should help him.
Ryan: Wait, wait, wait, where are you going? What are you doing?
Gillian: I've seen so many bodies since we've been here. Maybe I can help him.

Tell me what to do.
Luc: Put your hand like this. Ok. There is one doctor left. I go look for him.
Gillian: Ryan, he's in shock. Get a blanket. It's ok.
Ryan: You're right, Gillian. You're right, you're right, you're right. There's -- there's no turning back. We're in this together from now on.
Gillian: It's ok. It's ok.

Arlene: What's with the hostility, Adam, hmm? I told you that I would help you with your plan to destroy Col-Mar, and that's what I'm doing.
Adam: You know I don't like you meddling.
Arlene: You know, Frank is ready to do whatever it takes to cause trouble at that tower site.
Adam: All thanks to your sweet charm, huh?
Arlene: That's right. What? What are you smiling at?
Adam: Well -- you do keep people out of my hair. And you sure know how to dangle a bribe.
Arlene: Mm-hmm. And I know how much it means to you to see Tad and Liza finally fail -- to expose them for the frauds that they are, which is what I'm doing. And then we can sit back and watch them slink off into the sunset together.
Adam: What do you mean, together?
Arlene: Oh -- oh, Adam, you're jealous.
Adam: Of what?
Arlene: Tad with Liza, Liza with Tad. However you slice it, they're together, you're miserable.

Liza: Mother, why are you doing this?
Marian: Look, I'm following what's in my heart, and where Stuart's concerned, that's never failed me.
Liza: Well, where did you even get the idea that Stuart's not dead?
Scott: There's this psychic --
Liza: Oh! Oh, Mother. No.
Marian: Liza, please, listen to me, before you say anything else, he's a good man. He's a friend of Opal's. He's contacted Jenny. He even contacted Cindy, or Cindy came and talked to him.
Liza: Ok, you have this guy looking for Stuart.
Marian: No, no, that's just the point. He's tried to contact Stuart twice, and he can't reach him.
Liza: And this makes you believe that Stuart's not dead?
Marian: Oh, for heaven's sakes, Liza, Frederick's not some kind of voodoo man. Scott?
Scott: He says that my mom told him that Dad's not on the other side.
Liza: And you believe this?
Scott: I -- I don't know what to believe.
Marian: Cindy says that we're looking in the wrong place.
Liza: Mother, this is insane. All right, I hate to label you, but you're a fruitcake. There are entire industries of scam artists designed to sucker grieving widows like you.
Marian: Not this time.
Liza: And how do you know that?
Marian: Because I have really thought this thing through, Liza, and I keep asking myself the same question -- what if?
Scott: Look, if this guy wanted to con Marian, why would he say that Dad's not on the other side?
Liza: The other side. The other side. Would you two listen to yourselves?
Marian: Listen, if he was a con artist, darling, he'd be saying he's getting in touch with Stuart to keep me coming back for more.
Liza: Mother, obviously the guy is good. He's telling you he can't reach your husband, and you keep going back for more!
Marian: I believe he's trying to help me, Liza.
Liza: Mother, I know that you miss Stuart. And there isn't a day that I don't wish that I could turn back the clock. You deserve to have things the way that they were. Those days are over. And we would both be fools to think otherwise. This is not doing you any good. It's not doing Scott any good. I saw that cabin with my own two eyes --
Marian: Liza, stop it.
Liza: No, I did. It was burnt to the ground. We found his wedding ring. We found his body.
Marian: You found a body.
Liza: Mother --
Scott: What if it wasn't his body?
Liza: Scott -- the blood on your father's jacket was your father's. Stuart is dead, Mama.
Marian: Liza, I know you believe what you're saying. But you don't know what you're talking about.

Greenlee: If Wade sees my grandfather, it's all over.
Leo: Tell Gramps to beat it, Greenlee. What- what's he doing out in his condition, anyway?
Greenlee: Good point. I can use that.
Leo: Right. Go.

Greenlee: Granddaddy, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at home with your feet up?
Woodruff: Whoa, Greenlee, you scared the bejesus out of me.
Greenlee: Why?
Woodruff: Well --
Woman: It'll be a few minutes before the table you asked for is ready, Mr. Greenlee.
Woodruff: Oh, that's fine. That's fine. Thank you for seeing about it.
Woman: Mm-hmm.
Greenlee: Granddaddy, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Woodruff: What? Oh, come on, now, Greenlee. Miss Hastings and I are here on business. Miss Hastings, this is my chaperone, Greenlee Smythe.
Greenlee: I'm his granddaughter. The pleasure's mine. Now, lift your mind out of the gutter and tell me why you're not in bed.
Woodruff: I feel terrific, and Miss Hastings and I have some financial to clear up, so --
Greenlee: So you're sneaking out to work?
Woodruff: We have a very big merger coming up.
Greenlee: Uh-uh. Forget it. I'm going to tell Grandmother.
Woodruff: Tell her what?
Greenlee: You come this close to checking out, and then the next thing she knows, you're out wheeling and dealing with a balance sheet in one hand and a scotch in the other.
Miss Hastings: She knows you well.
Greenlee: I know his wife, too. She's not going to be happy to hear he's sneaking a drink against doctor's orders.
Woodruff: Now, when did you become a private eye?
Greenlee: Tell me I'm wrong. Isn't grandmother at her regular appointment at the Glamorama right now?
Woodruff: It's coincidence.
Greenlee: You knew she'd be out of the house for a few hours.
Miss Hastings: She's got you on that, Mr. Greenlee.
Woodruff: Yeah, well, I never could keep anything from this one. She's sharp. She's smart.
Greenlee: And she loves you, which is why I suggest you go home and rest.
Woodruff: Yeah, well, I guess my heart was racing a bit.
Greenlee: Home. Bed -- now.
Miss Hastings: Mr. Greenlee, the financial can wait. I'll get the car.
Greenlee: I love you. I'd lose it if anything happened to you.
Woodruff: Nothing's going to happen to me.
Greenlee: All right. I'll see you at home. Go.

Leo: Nice work.
Greenlee: Oh, you know I'm good.
Leo: Like watching a brilliant conductor at a symphony.
Greenlee: Hmm.
Leo: So, you ready for the next move?
Greenlee: Is he here?
Leo: Flash your biggest smile. He just walked in.

Greenlee: Wade! Do you think he saw my grandfather?
Leo: I don't know, but if he did, he's going
to want an introduction. Greenlee: That's never going to happen.

Wade: Greenlee -- your call came as a pleasant surprise.
Greenlee: Wade. You know Leo.
Wade: We've both been around the same places. Well, I was hoping this means you're ready to introduce me to your grandfather.
Greenlee: I don't know, Wade.
Wade: Well, at least I assumed we'd be alone.
Greenlee: Oh, we can discuss anything in front of Leo.
Leo: I'm known for my discretion.
Wade: That's one thing I hadn't heard about you, du Pres.
Greenlee: Leo's a freelance consultant. He knows all my business.
Wade: Lucky him. Now, about your grandfather.
Greenlee: Wade, he's still very, very sick.
Wade: Really? I'm sorry to hear that.
Leo: Completely bedridden.
Greenlee: That doesn't mean I won't come through on the money I owe you. I just need a little time.
Wade: That sounds like a problem.
Greenlee: Well, you seem like such a patient man.
Wade: It's an act.

Vanessa: Leo, darling, you didn't tell me you were dining here this afternoon.
Leo: Yeah, it's just kind of last minute. Mother, we're kind of in the middle of something.
Vanessa: Don't need to be rude, dear.
Greenlee: Hi, Mrs. Cortlandt.
Vanessa: Well, aren't you going to introduce me to your new friend?
Leo: I wasn't planning on it.
Vanessa: Oh, be nice, dear.
Leo: Wade, Vanessa Cortlandt, my mother.
Vanessa: Hello.
Wade: Ms. Cortlandt.
Leo: Mother, Wade Randall. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're sort of in the middle of something.
Vanessa: Well, excuse me. I'm obviously embarrassing my son, so -- maybe we'll meet again.
Wade: I hope so.

Leo: Now, Wade, I know that Greenlee doesn't mind my asking, so -- what's the rush on the money? You can afford to give her a little bit of time.
Wade: What's your connection with Mr. Cortlandt Electronics there, Leo?
Leo: No, this has nothing to do with Cortlandt Electronics.
Greenlee: Not yet. Maybe it could.
Wade: I like the way you think, Greenlee.
Leo: No, no, no. No. Palmer Cortlandt is not interested in the kind of business you do, Wade. Neither is my mother, so don't even think about it.
Wade: I'm way past just thinking about it, Leo.
Greenlee: Leo --
Leo: Greenlee, forget it. The Cortlandt's are off-limits.
Wade: Pity.

Adam: If anyone is jealous of Tad and Liza, it's you.
Arlene: Try saying that with conviction.
Adam: You think what you want. I don't have anything to prove.
Arlene: Admit it, Adam. You still have feelings for her.
Adam: Of course I do. Contempt, loathing, disgust. Why do you think I'm trying so hard to destroy everything that Tad and Liza are building?
Arlene: Oh, I don't know. All I do know is that there's no simple answer with you.
Adam: Well, there is this time.
Arlene: You know, I love it when you get angry. All your muscles get tense.
Adam: With you, everything -- everything is a prelude to sex.
Arlene: Ooh, and I'm sure you hate the way that I know all the right places to touch you. Hmm?
Adam: Stop. Just stop.
Arlene: Yeah, hate -- hate my lips on your neck. And the thought of my skin and my naked body under you.
Adam: Get off me, get off!
Arlene: You will never get over Liza. Never. You don't even want to.

Luc: The doctor, he is coming. Thank you for your help.
Gillian: Will he survive?
Luc: Well, the doctor has saved many I thought were lost.

Ryan: Come on, come on, it's ok.
Gillian: You know, when I snuck into that plane, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had no idea what Jake was doing here. I'm so sorry if I caused you more trouble.
Ryan: I'm just grateful that we're both ok. I mean that, Gillian. Being here, seeing all these people just struggle to be alive.
Gillian: Makes you realize how precious life is. I don't want us to waste any more time.
Ryan: We're not going to. Princess, we're going to find Jake. We're going to tell him the truth, and then we're going to get out.
Gillian: It's not the happy ending we've been dreaming about.
Ryan: We're going to make it happy. Ok? As long as I get you in the end.

Luc: Doctor, he's here.
Jake: Ok, let's tank him up, normal saline.

Ryan: Gillian?

Luc: We're running low on saline.
Luc: I'll go out back to see if we can find some more.
Jake: Yeah, a lot of shrapnel, collapsed lung, but he's going to be all right.
Jake: You're in good hands here, buddy. I'm going to help you.

Gillian: Jake?
Jake: Gillian. Oh, my God.
Gillian: Hey.
Jake: Oh! Oh, what in the world are you doing here? Look at you. Hmm. This is my wife. Listen, you shouldn't be here.
Gillian: I --
Jake: What are you doing here?
Gillian: I can't believe we found you!
Jake: Well, hang on, hang on. Hang on just a second. Ryan?
Ryan: Hey.
Jake: Man, this is incredible. Hey.
Ryan: Yeah.
Jake: Listen, I got a wounded man here. Just hang on. I can take over here. Gee, you two, what's -- what's going on? What's the word?
Gillian: Well, we just came here to --
Jake: What? What do you mean? Meaning what, "we"? Who's "we"?
Ryan: Uh, well, Adrian, too. He kind of -- he kind of got us here.
Jake: Adrian's back?
Gillian: Yeah. We didn't expect to find you in this building. We came to take you home, Jake.
Jake: Yeah, home. At least I've got one. I've got 16 orphaned kids here who can't say that they're that lucky.
Ryan: Well, we brought supplies, and hopefully Adrian's working on a chopper to evacuate all of you.
Jake: Are you guys the cavalry or what?

Luc: Jake, this one needs you now.
Jake: Ok. All right, I'll be right there. Just stay, buddy. Listen, I don't know what possessed you two to come all this way, but I'm damn glad you're here. What's going on here? He'll be all right.

Liza: Mother, you don't actually believe that Stuart is still alive.
Marian: Liza, I believe we don't have all the right answers.
Liza: We have -- we have worked so hard to accept his passing.
Marian: No one has worked harder than I have.
Liza: I know that. That's why I can't believe that you're doing this. Ok, I'm going to make us some tea. This isn't over. We're going to sit and we're going to talk and we're going to figure it out.

Marian: Scott, am I crazy?
Scott: I wouldn't use that word.
Marian: Well, what would you use?
Scott: You believe in something.
Marian: It's just that I feel Stuart's presence. I feel that he's nearby. It's a feeling I've always had with your father.
Look, Frederick said he needed something from Stuart's childhood, something that was important to him. And I know exactly where to find something like that.
Scott: You're going to meet with Frederick again?
Marian: I think I am, yes. I mean, Liza may be right. I may be making a fool of myself, but I --
Scott: But you got to know, one way or the other.
Marian: Yeah, I do.
Scott: What do you want me to do?
Marian: Oh, thank you. Just cover for me with Liza. I know she loves me and she's worrying about me, but she doesn't understand, ok?
Scott: When she asks me where you've gone, I'll be vague.
Marian: Thanks.
Scott: All right.
Marian: Bye.

Liza: Where'd Mama go?
Scott: She bolted, said there was an errand she'd forgotten to do, so she --

[telephone rings]

Liza: Ok. Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok.

[Ring]

Liza: Hello. You can't be serious. No, no. I'll be there in -- in five minutes. Thanks. Oh, damn it.
Scott: What's up?
Liza: A -- a -- our entire labor force just walked off the Col-Mar tower. I have no idea what's going on with this building. It's like we're cursed.

Arlene: Just say it. You think about her all the time.
Adam: I want you to shut up about Liza. Do you think you can do that?
Arlene: Look, Adam, you're tired. Why don't you go to the bar, close up early, and come home and get into bed?
Adam: So we're back to the subject of bed again?
Arlene: You know, believe it or not, beds are for resting, too. You've been going full-throttle. It's time for you to take it easy.
Adam: I've never been very good at that.
Arlene: Adam, you're finally getting what you want. I mean, after this work stoppage, the Col-Mar tower will be officially DOA And Tad and Liza will finally be finished.
Adam: There's something to live for.
Arlene: So let's celebrate. Go close up the bar, come home, and we'll drink a toast to a job well-done.
Adam: All right. But I'm not in the mood to fight off another seduction when I get back.
Arlene: I'll be a Girl Scout.

Wade: Well, if Leo won't be flexible with his Cortland connection, then you and I have a schedule to keep.
Greenlee: Wade, all I need is a week, maybe 10 days.
Wade: Give me what you owe me -- soon. I'll be in touch.

Leo: We have ignition.

Wade: Ms. Cortlandt?
Vanessa: Yes?
Wade: We just met. I'm Leo's friend.
Vanessa: Of course. Wade -- Randall. Isn't it?
Wade: I have no idea why he was so rude.
Vanessa: Well, a mother can only do so much before they leave the nest, right?
Wade: Have you got time for a drink?
Vanessa: I really shouldn't, but I have a few minutes.
Wade: Oh, please. Let me guess -- um, Madeira.
Vanessa: Oh, you have excellent taste, Wade. Let me guess -- is that good breeding or careful study?
Wade: Well, let's just you're in good hands with me, Vanessa.
Vanessa: Oh.

[Telephone rings]

Vanessa: Excuse me. This is Vanessa.
Leo: Hello, Vanessa. This is your teleprompter calling. My name is Palmer.
Say hello, darling. Vanessa: Palmer, darling. Yes. I do need you to call me more than three times a day. Where are you?
Leo: Very good. You've missed me, I'm sure.
Vanessa: Yes. Nothing's the same without you around.
Leo: Well, then, I suggest you enjoy this brief time that we have together, Mother.
Vanessa: Yes, just like old times, huh?
Leo: Ok, here's the play. I want you to talk about money like it's the air we breathe.
Vanessa: Yes! Well, I'm flying to Virginia tomorrow to finalize the interior and hire a pilot. Oh, excuse me, Wade. My husband seems to have a new toy.
Leo: Private jets? Nice touch. How much?
Vanessa: 40 Million to 50 million, but that includes the crew.
Leo: And how on earth are you going to pay for something like that?
Vanessa: Well, darling, remember, I do have check writing privileges.
Leo: Is it working?
Vanessa: Have I ever let you down
Leo: Let's finish it up, Mother.
Vanessa: Uh -- well, darling, enjoy the rest of your cruise.
Leo: And don't let him ask too many questions.
Vanessa: I love you, too, Palmer.
My husband, he depends on me for everything. He has me doing a million and one things for him, but, I must say, love it. And I would love to stay and have that drink, but it'll have to be another time.
Wade: Well, then, let's reschedule. I just had a business proposition I wanted to discuss with you.
Vanessa: Oh, that sounds promising.
Wade: Well, I promise you, I won't waste your time.
Vanessa: I'll look forward to it.

Leo: Here she comes.
Greenlee: Where's Wade?
Leo: I think he left. You haven't lost your touch.
Vanessa: Well, I want to get back in your good graces, so, how'd I do?
Leo: I'll let you know if he bites.
Vanessa: Fine. Call me for the second round, huh? And, Greenlee, despite the problems with my son, I want you to know that I do dearly love him, and I trust you know what you're doing.
Leo: We've got it under control, Mother.
Vanessa: Let's hope so.

Greenlee: You are definitely paying the price for me.
Leo: It always costs me to deal with Vanessa. But if it keeps you out of trouble, it's fine. I don't mind.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Leo: What can I say? You're scary when you're desperate.
Greenlee: What do you mean, "scary"?
Leo: Let me -- let me rephrase. You turn into an ax-swinging psychopath when you're desperate.
B Greenlee: Did you ever talk to Becca about blowing her off that night?
Leo: Yeah, I tried to explain that I was helping a friend.
Greenlee: Which happened to be me, her favorite person in the world. She must've freaked.
Leo: She wasn't real happy about it.
Greenlee: Come on. I want details.
Leo: She dumped me, all right? She didn't buy my explanation about helping you.
Greenlee: Becca dumped you over me? You know what? That girl is tripping. What's her number?
Leo: Greenlee, don't even bother.
Greenlee: Listen, she may hate me all she wants, but at least I can talk some sense into her.
Leo: Well, why don't you kick up your heels?
Greenlee: Like I get some thrill out of seeing your thing with Becca go up in flames. Please.
Leo: Oh. You didn't like me with Becca any more than I liked you wasting your time on Ryan.
Greenlee: True. So now we're both lonely and miserable?
Leo: You should be happy.
Greenlee: I guess I am.
Leo: Ok. Let's drink to that.

Jake: Gillian, can you get me some sterile pads and gauze out of my bag? Thank you. Thanks.
Gillian: You know, everybody misses you at home.
Jake: Yeah.
Gillian: We've all been so worried -- Joe and Ruth and Tad and Dixie. We all knew this was a terrible situation, but this is -- this is just beyond anything we've ever imagined.
Jake: When I was on my way to help at a children's hospital north of here, it was bombed. There were 16 survivors, all kids. And I treated them as far as I could and we've got them here, and now we're trying to get them to a hospital.
Ryan: Yeah. Adrian had a connection that told us that much.
Gillian: Yeah. He thought you were closer to the Argun River, so he's probably over there.
Jake: Well, we left there when we heard the Red Cross was coming over here. But when we got here, they'd already left by the time we showed up, so -- listen, this guy's ready to move here. Thank you.
Ryan: Yeah, I figured that Adrian, when he realizes that you're not headed down there, he'll probably start heading back up this way.
Jake: Well, is he making arrangements for a chopper to take all my kids?
Ryan: That was the plan, yeah.
Jake: That sounds good. Well, I -- I better prep my children then. Uh -- listen, I don't know what made you two come all this way, but I can't thank you enough.

Gillian: There's no way I can tell him now, Ryan.
Ryan: No, not yet. Not yet. Listen, why don't we just concentrate on getting everybody out of here, ok?

Jake: Gillian, Ryan, this is Paullina. She's learning some English, right?
Gillian: Hi.
Ryan: Hi.

[Explosion]

Jake: It's ok. It's ok. It's all right. Remember what we do when we're scared? We sing a little song that makes all the scariness go away, right?
Paullina: Ok.
Jake: That's right. Itsy bitsy spider
Paullina: Went up the water spout
Jake and Paullina: Down came the rain and washed the spider out out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

Arlene: You can erase Liza from your mind if you could. You just need a little help is all.

[Door opens]

Vanessa: Oh. Well, the door was open. Oh, you don't mind, do you? It's been a long day.
Arlene: Get out.
Vanessa: Oh, my. Well, all this for your long-suffering, silver-haired barkeep?
Arlene: What do you want?
Vanessa: What else? My money. If you want me to keep quiet when Adam gets back, I suggest you pay up immediately.

Jake: Out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itsy bitsy spider

Gillian: He used to sing that to Colby.

Jake: Up the spout again
Jake: The itsy bitsy
Jake, Gillian, and Paullina: Spider went up the water spout down came the rain and washed the spider out out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

Leo: May Ryan roast in dot-com hell for what he did to you.
Greenlee: And may Becca be a virgin the rest of her life.
Leo: Ooh, that's actually pretty harsh.
Greenlee: That big-haired old maid deserves what she gets.
Leo: They both do. For you, my friend, who is now strong enough to overcome love. Congratulations.
Greenlee: May you learn from my mistakes.
Leo: And you from mine.
Greenlee: That's why we have each other.

[Glasses clink]

Junior: Hey, Scott, two hands! Thought that was you.
Scott: What are you doing, trying to pick off innocent bystanders with your drop kicks?
Junior: I'm just checking to see if your hands are still good.
Scott: Good enough to stop anything you can shoot at me.
Junior: Yeah?
Scott: School about to start?
Junior: Yeah. I can't believe summer's already over.
Scott: Tell me about it.
Junior: You know what's weird? I feel like, this summer, everything's changed. Nothing's going to be the same anymore.
Scott: Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel the same way. You seen your dad much?
Junior: No, no. He's on another planet.
Scott: I guess Tad's pretty busy, too, huh?
Junior: Yeah, but it's cool. Scott, do you miss doing stuff with your Dad?
Scott: Yeah, I sure do. I always looked forward to the summer. It meant we'd -- we'd be able to spend a lot of time together.
Junior: What would you guys do?
Scott: Fish, mostly. Pitch a tent, stay up all night laughing. Sleep in till noon. I never caught anything.
Junior: Yeah. My dad was way too serious about that stuff.
Scott: Stuart would always tell him to try to chill out, but he couldn't do it.
Junior: At least he'd listen to Uncle Stuart. It's not the same as you, but I feel like my dad just isn't here anymore.
Scot: Junior you -- you got to learn to deal with stuff you can't control.
Junior: Is that what you're doing?
Scott: Yeah, I'm trying.
Junior: Me, too.
Scott: Come on.
Junior: Ow!

Vanessa: Hmm.
Arlene: Why do blackmail threats always sound so crude?
Vanessa: Ha-ha! Well, because they are, dear. Now, just pay me what you owe me and Adam never need find out that you lied to him about his brother being alive.
Vanessa: Hmm.
Arlene: There, take it.
Vanessa: Oh! This doesn't begin -- look, I happen to be working on a very high-profile project with my son, and I need to look the part.
Arlene: Why so greedy, Vanessa?
Vanessa: Arlene, we had a deal. Now, don't cross me. It appears to me that all of this hinges on Adam's staying in the dark about Stuart, so in order to shut me up, you have to either pay me or -- kill me!
Arlene: Or shove an apple in it.
Vanessa: I think it would be far easier for you just to pay me, kitten.
Arlene: All right. All right.

[Doorbell rings]

Arlene: Come here. Stay out of sight. And we'll work it out later, all right?
Adam! What --
Stuart: Hi! You remember me. I'm Stuart.
