ALL MY CHILDREN

SEPTEMBER 18, 2001

Erica: You tripped an alarm, Roger?
Roger: This is just a misunderstanding, Erica. I can explain.
Chris: Good. Let's hear it.
Roger: Huh. By the way, your security is excellent. Your men nabbed me right at the elevator.

[Roger chuckles]

Roger: But I -- I wasn't sneaking around. I went to my daughter's office to pick up my wallet. I had no idea the building was closed.
Chris: Well, well, well, why would you?
Roger: Exactly! Exactly.
Chris: Yeah, it could happen to anyone.
Roger: Sure.
Chris: There's no harm done.
Right, Ms. Kane?
Erica: I don't know.
Roger: Really, I apologize for disturbing you, and since I -- I got what I came for, I'll just be saying good night.
Guard: You better explain this first. I saw him drop it, Ms. Kane, like he was trying to ditch it.

[Security officer holds up a computer disk]

Erica: Really? Well, we better see what's on that.
Guard: Do you want me to call the cops?
Erica: I don't know yet. That depends -- that depends on Roger.
Roger: Oh - all right. There's more.
Erica: Obviously. Go ahead.
Roger: This -- uh -- this was for someone else.
Chris: Who?
Roger: Greenlee.

[Jake sighs]

Greenlee: Ok. Ok. Next question -- can you picture yourself as David's assistant?
Jake: Greenlee, I'm going to be doing my own research.
Greenlee: And you'd love that?
Jake: Mm-hmm, yeah, I would.
Greenlee: Then you have to go with it.
Jake: Yeah. It's another good reason for accepting Hayward's offer.
Greenlee: Hmm. I inspire you. Admit it.
Jake: Well, actually, you -- you inspire me not to question every single thing that comes my way. I'll give you that.
Greenlee: That's all?
Jake: Well, I think it my turn to inspire you.
Jake: Hmm.
Greenlee: That works.

[Phone rings]

Greenlee: Oh!

[Ring]

Greenlee: It's the hospital.
Jake: What?
Greenlee: I know it.
Jake: Uh -- I'm not on call.
Greenlee: Has it ever stopped them before? Just answer it. Go cure the deadly hangnail.

Jake: Ahem. Jake Martin. Yeah, just a minute. It's for you.
Greenlee: Me?
Jake: Yep.

Greenlee: Yes?
Erica: Greenlee, you need to get over to my office right away.
Greenlee: Now? Erica, I was just -- I was just sleeping.
Erica: Then you consider this your wake-up call, Greenlee. You get over here right now.
Greenlee: Can't it wait?
Erica: No, it cannot, and neither can I! And I swear to you, if you are not here in 10 minutes, I'll come over there, I'll yank you out of bed by your dark little roots!

Adam: Why didn't you tell me about this?
Liza: Because she's a fraud!
Adam: Well, then, let me get rid of her.
Liza: No -- you know what? If I want your help, I will ask for your help.
Adam: I hope so.
Liza: She's not worth your time.
Mia: Well, your husband seemed to be able to give me a good chunk of his time when he called me the other night. Whoops. I guess you forgot to mention that. Well, it looks like this marriage has big secrets, too.
Liza: Is Mia trying to scam you, too, because she got thousands out of my mother.
Adam: No, it was nothing like that.
Mia: Actually, Adam and I never discussed you. We were too preoccupied with other things.
Liza: Maybe you should start by explaining, Adam.
Adam: It's nothing like what Mia's implying. It was a business arrangement, that's all.
Liza: Oh! You know, I've heard that one before!
Mia: I think this is my cue to start filling in the blanks here.
Liza, let's go back to that hundred grand you promised me.
Liza: You know what? Let's not.
Mia: You can give it to your husband because that's what I owe him.
Liza: You owe Adam $100,000? For what?
Mia: You want to tell her, or should I?
Liza: Adam?
Adam: We'll discuss this later.
Liza: Oh, you know what? You know what? No! No. We're not going to discuss anything later. We're not even going to talk about it, because you know what? I'm done.
Adam: No, Liza, come back here! I can -- I can clear this up! Why didn't you tell me about Mia?
Liza: Oh -- what? You're going to turn this on me? You're the one who broke your promise and how long did it take you?
Adam: I didn't break my promise!
Liza: You did, and you know what? Forget it. I'm not going to talk about it anymore. You know what you can do? You can take your secrets and your lies and you can shove them -- both of you!
Adam: Liza!
Liza: Don't yell at me!

Mia: Ooh. I guess her boyfriend's waiting for her.
Adam: Boy, Liza was right. You really are a piece of work.
Mia: I am finished here. You can just get the money I owe you from her and we'll just call it even, all right?
Adam: No, no, no, no, no, I don't think so. You want to be part of this family?
Mia: I'm rethinking that.
Adam: Well, don't, sister. Too late, because you're going to stay here and you're going to see this through.

Greenlee: Something catastrophic must have happened at Enchantment. Erica was in total-command mode.
Jake: Well, I'm going with you.
Greenlee: That's so incredibly sweet, but I don't think that's such a good idea.
Jake: Why is that?
Greenlee: You don't bring your date to the office. You don't get it.

[Jake laughs]

Jake: Well, if Erica's going to call you out at this hour of night, then she gets me, too.
Greenlee: That's very, very noble, but --
Jake: But it's practical, ok? It's too late for you to be going out at this hour, and I'm going to go with you -- end of discussion. Now, are you ready?
Greenlee: Yeah, I'm ready. I think I could get used to this. Come on. Let's go face the dragon.

Officer: We're done here, Lavery. You going to make your call?
Ryan: I'll pass -- ahem.
Officer: Are you sure nobody's going to lose sleep over you?
Ryan: Yeah. Can we wrap this up, please?
Officer: You know, there's a judge on duty. You get a fat wallet down here, you can make bail in a few hours.
Ryan: And then what?
Officer: Whatever. Beats being in the joint all night, right?
Ryan: I just want to crash.
Officer: Have it your way. This way.
Ryan: You know, a night away from everyone and everything sounds pretty good right now.
Liza: That sounds perfect. Why don't you get me a cell, too.

Erica: These are all of Enchantment's financial records -- and our shipping invoices. This is all confidential.
Roger: Yes, I know. I know, but, well, the thing is Greenlee asked me to get --
Erica: Don't you say another word about Greenlee till she gets here, and that better be in a couple of seconds or I swear you both will be talking to the police.
Chris: Ms. Kane, why don't you try to calm down? You know, you've really --
Erica: Well --
Chris: Upset her, so give me a second to talk with her. Maybe I can straighten this out, ok?

Chris: What the hell do you think you're doing? I told you to leave this down!
Erica: I don't take orders from you! My company is being threatened by a devious little witch and her father!
Chris: No -- shh!
Erica: I am so furious I am shaking! I could just strangle them both.
Chris: Hey, now, listen to me. That bubble headed princess is not running a drug smuggling operation out of here or anywhere else.
Erica: Then you tell me who is.
Chris: Well, probably whoever they're working for. Those two are the only leads we have.
Erica: Then why would you let them go?
Chris: Because they can't even suspect that we think that it's them! Look, if they do, they will shut us down and we'll never get to the center of this operation. Now, listen, you have to keep your mouth shut. You have no idea the kind of people that you're dealing with, Ms. Kane. And if you mess this up, I tell you, I'll take you over my --
Erica: What? You will what?
Chris: You --

Greenlee: I got here as fast as I could. What's the problem? Daddy?
Roger: Hello, Sweetheart. Hello, Jake.
Greenlee: What's going on?
Erica: Why don't you tell us.
Greenlee: I'm not sure that I can.
Erica: That's not what your father says. Your father has leveled some very serious charges against you, Greenlee. Why don't you explain

Mia: Stop bullying me, Adam. I don't go for it.
Adam: Oh, look who's talking. You just tried to crush Liza.
Mia: Oh. I am stuck with Liza. She's my blood.
Adam: That remains to be seen.
Mia: You know, I am not discussing my family with you. You're nothing to me. You're just a pain in my --
Adam: Careful, Mia! You still owe me.
Mia: You're going to get paid.
Adam: After what you just pulled in here, you owe me even more.
Mia: More? Oh, God -- get off it!
Adam: I want a lot more than money out of you.
Mia: You let go of me, or I'll kick your face in before you can blink.
Adam: Ooh. Very ladylike. Huh -- no wonder you couldn't pull anything useful out of David Hayward.
Mia: Oh, yeah? Well, I got all I could get.
Adam: No, you got squat! Because of your incompetence, Hayward has his power post at the hospital back.
Mia: And you're blaming me for that?
Adam: Yes, yes. You're on a roll, lady -- one loss after another.
Mia: Oh, yeah? Well, you're the one who lost here tonight.
Adam: Yeah, but you're going to change that.
Mia: Me?
Adam: Yes, you. You're going to tell Liza that you forgot to mention to me that you're her sister, and you're also going to tell her that you were working for me, spying on David Hayward.
Mia: Oh, like she's going to listen.
Adam: You make her listen. And you're also going to make her understand that this whole thing was set up weeks ago.
Mia: Hello, Adam? Didn't you hear anything she said? She doesn't want you trying to fix things that you messed with already, and you know what? I don't need any more problems with her.
Adam: Well, then, stop creating them! Liza's very sensitive about me going behind her back right now.
Mia: So what?
Adam: So I promised I'd stop.
Mia: Oh, but you didn't.
Adam: Yes, I did. You got cute and made it sound like I didn't.
Mia: Oh, and now you want me to straighten that out?
Adam: Yes. Don't cross me, Mia. That would be an even bigger mistake.
Mia: All right. Jeez. Just lighten up.
Adam: I'm not joking, Mia. My marriage is at stake here.

Ryan: Liza, what are you doing here?
Liza: I thought you might need someone to vouch for you.
Ryan: Mia told you I was here.
Liza: Can we not discuss her?
Officer: You want to spring this guy?
Liza: What's it going to take?
Ryan: How about that adjoining cell?
Liza: You know, I don't think that's what either one of us wants right now. What's it going to take to get the charges dropped?
Officer: Well, your pal's looking at assault charges for starting a brawl and taking out that man.
Liza: Lovely.
Officer: You want to get the charges dropped, talk to him.
Liza: The guy with the big bandage on his head?
Officer: Right.
Liza: You don't make this easy.

Liza: Ahem -- I'm sorry. Excuse me. Could I speak with you just for a moment?
Julian: About what?
Liza: Um -- thank you. The fight that you just had.
Julian: Nothing to say.
Liza: Well --
Julian: Your boyfriend is psycho.
Liza: Well, no, no, no, no, not -- not really, he's not. You see, his -- his wife just died. She passed away quite tragically, actually, and he's been all over the place since then.
Julian: Like I give a rat's tail. He went postal on me.
Liza: Well, I just thought maybe you could find it in your heart to forgive him.
Julian: See this?
Liza: You -- you don't have any compassion?
Julian: Forget it.
Liza: Well, wait, wait, wait. You see, I wish I could, but I know that you won't. If you don't do this the way I need you to do it, you're going to be living with this for a long time.
Julian: What the hell are you talking about?
Liza: Um -- I'm Liza Chandler.
Julian: Who?
Liza: I own WRCW, the television station.
Julian: And I care about this because?
Liza: Because I'm going to dig up a whole bunch of dirt on your life and then I'm going to put it on the air 24 hours a day until you do drop the charges.
Julian: What the hell! You can't do that! It's blackmail or something.
Liza: No, no, no. Actually, it's news.
Julian: No way.
Liza: Way.
Julian: Get out of my face!
Liza: I'm sure that you have a squeaky-clean record. And I'm sure that people will give you just as much slack as, say, you've given Ryan. I mean, you're close with your boss and your family, right?
Julian: Hold on a minute.
Liza: Yeah, well, I think that you really should rethink this because I'd really hate to check out your priors and call the video unit.
Julian: I don't have priors!
Liza: Yeah, but you know what? I'm going to find something. Trust me.
Julian: Ok. Ok. I'll tell the officer I changed my mind.
Liza: You're a good man.

Liza: I'm sure you'll be out of here in a few minutes.
Ryan: Yeah? Well, don't expect any gratitude. I didn't ask you to step in, Liza.
Liza: You know, is this like some macho man week or something?
Officer: You just caught a break, Lavery. Your punching bag decided not to press charges.
Liza: Thank you very much. You've been very, very helpful, officer. Right, Ryan?
Ryan: Yes, yes, very helpful. Thank you.
Liza: Oh, ok. Come on. I'll take you home.
Ryan: "Home"? Which home would that be?
Liza: Where have you been staying since you left the yacht?
Ryan: My car.
Liza: Your car -- you've been sleeping in your car?
Ryan: No, I didn't say anything about sleeping, Liza. Listen, you know what? I'm going to take it from here. You've done your good deed.
Liza: Oh, no -- no, no, no. No, I'm not done.
Ryan: Liza? You know what?
Liza: No -- look, you are punchy right now, and you shouldn't be alone look, you can be just as miserable with me as you can on your own. Please.

Greenlee: I'm here because of you, Daddy? Why? What did you say about me?
Roger: Sweetheart, I told Erica about your computer problem, how you copied all those files into the main system and then you called me in a panic because you knew I knew about those things.
Chris: Are you a computer expert, Mr. Smythe?
Roger: I -- I know some programming.
Greenlee: Yeah, he does. He's helped me before.
Chris: With what?
Roger: Oh, just with the small things.
Chris: Ah.
Roger: This was an innocent mistake on Greenlee's part, and I think she was just frightened to call tech support or even to tell you about it, Erica.
Erica: Why was that?
Roger: Well, because I think she knew that the material was terribly sensitive and she was just afraid that you would fire her.
Erica: So she called you instead?
Roger: No, no, no. Um -- well, I tried to talk her through it, but it wasn't working, so I -- I decided to come over here this evening and cover her tracks.
Erica: So Greenlee sent you?
Roger: No. No, no. She didn't know about it. I -- I -- after all, she is my daughter and I just wanted to make things right.
Erica: Did you? Did you do that? Did you make things right?
Roger: Well, I -- I did correct the disc and the system, but as -- as we all know, I got caught with the disc. I'm not exactly a sleuth. Ahem. Honey, I -- I'm so sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was get you in any kind of trouble. Please, accept my apologies.
Erica: Well, Greenlee, what do you have to say for yourself?
Greenlee: There's -- nothing I can say, except that I'm sorry, that I know this is a breach of my agreement.
Jake: What are you doing, Greenlee?
Greenlee: I'm trying to own up to my own mistakes.
Jake: Your mistakes?
Greenlee: What else can I do?
Erica: Well, I certainly hope you've learned from this, Greenlee, because obviously I always know what's going on here.
Greenlee: Of course you do.
Chris: Well, I guess that explains everything, so, can we call it a night?
Erica: No, not yet. I am willing to let this one incident go.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Roger: It's very generous, Erica. That's -- that's more than fair.
Jake: Oh, you think so, huh?
Erica: I'm not going to fire you, and I won't press charges this time. But you are on notice, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Meaning?
Erica: Meaning that you have no more chances and I will be watching. I will be watching even more closely.
Greenlee: Ok. I understand.
Jake: Ok. All right. Let me get you out of here and take you home.
Greenlee: Would it be all right if we left now?
Erica: Yes. You can go now.
Greenlee: Good night.
Erica: Good night.

Roger: I'll explain later.
Greenlee: You got that right.

Erica: Well?
Chris: Well, what?
Erica: Well, I played along with you. Aren't you pleased?
Chris: Am I pleased? No, I am not pleased. As a matter of fact, I am freaking fed up!

Adam: Don't you dare say a word against my wife. Liza is completely justified in feeling the way she feels about you and me.
Mia: Aren't you loyal?
Adam: I provoked her. So did you. The difference is you meant to -- by clubbing her with her father's infidelity.
Mia: Oh, come on. You're not completely guilt free.
Adam: I never said I was. How about you? Is this sister thing a scam, or are you on the level?
Mia: Well, what do you think, Adam?
Adam: Well, if it's a con, it's a pretty sloppy one because you let your mark get away without getting a dime from her. Of course, maybe you want more than money.
Mia: Maybe I just want this to be between me and Liza.
Adam: Maybe you're hoping she wants a sister as badly as you do. It must hurt having Liza push you away like that.
Mia: Uh -- it is what it is.
Adam: Yes, well, if you're on the level, it could be a lot better. What your parents did is not your fault, Mia. Why don't you talk to me about it?

Liza: Are you sure about this? Because there's rooms at the Valley Inn. I checked.
Ryan: No, this is really all I can handle.
Liza: Ok.
Ryan: And I'm paying you back. I told you I'm paying you back.
Liza: No, I know. You don't need to worry about that. You really don't. Just, you know, sort everything out, and then, when you're ready, you can come back to work.
Ryan: Yeah -- uh -- Liza, about that --
Liza: No rush.
Ryan: I think you should start looking for a replacement.
Liza: Ryan --
Ryan: Do yourself a favor, Liza. This time find somebody with a little ambition, with some goals, because after tonight, I'm gone.
Liza: You know, there was this really wise person that I knew who said to me, "don't make any major decisions while your life is falling apart."
Ryan: Great. Throw that on me. That's going to really help.
Liza: I'm just saying that by morning it might look a lot better, you working for me than getting arrested.
Ryan: Ok. I'll lay low for the night. Just tonight. Ahem. Really. I will. You can even go on. You can go home.
Ryan: What is it?
Liza: I don't want to go. I don't want to go.
Ryan: Ok. Liza, talk to me. What's -- what's going on?
Liza: I'm just not ready for what's waiting for me when I get home. I'm afraid that I'll get in my car to go home and I really won't end up there.
Ryan: Well, you paid the bill. So, you know, you can crash if you want to.
Liza: Really? You don't mind?
Ryan: Not if you don't. Well, I'm going to take a shower, and then I'm probably going to end up sitting in front of the television staring blindly for hours.
Liza: Yeah, maybe I can find a movie. You know, one of those 1980's movies with forgotten stars in big hair and maybe a stalker or two.
Ryan: Ok. Knock yourself out.

Liza: Ok.

[Shower runs]

[TV plays]

Jake: So why don't you just tell me when you're ready to listen, ok?
Greenlee: Why did I lie for him?
Jake: You know why.

[Knock on door]

Jake: Oh, no.

[Knock]

Greenlee: Daddy.
Roger: Sweetheart, I know it's late, but I -- I just had to thank you.
Jake: What? Are we really going another round tonight?
Greenlee: Why were you even at Enchantment? There's nothing wrong with my files.
Roger: No. I was -- trying to rebuild your trust fund.
Greenlee: By stealing from Erica?
Roger: No. No, not stealing. I -- I've been day-trading, and I've taken some heavy losses lately and --
Greenlee: I don't understand.
Roger: Well, I just thought that perhaps some insider information --
Greenlee: Daddy, that's criminal!
Roger: I knew it was wrong when I did it, but I've let you down so many times, I just wanted to keep my word. Greenlee, you got to believe me. I -- I did it all for you. All -- all of it.

Chris: You love to defy me, Ms. Kane.
Erica: Well, I guess you're just going to have write my script for me next time, Mr. Stamp, because I think it would have looked more suspicious if I had done nothing.
Chris: Don't you get it? You could have just eighty-sixed this whole operation.
Erica: You're accusing me of ruining your operation? You're the one who messed it up!
Chris: Oh. Oh, I see. So now you're the expert.
Erica: Oh, I'm an expert, all right. Yes, I am. I'm a very good judge of character, Mr. Stamp. And I knew from the first day I met you that there was something really off.
Chris: Oh, right back at you, lady.

[Erica sighs]

Erica: You listen to me, you impossible man. I have put my company, my employees, my future at risk. And the least you could do -- the least you could do would be to act a little grateful, show a little common courtesy. But you know something that's great about this being finally over?
Chris: What?
Erica: I won't have to put up with you masquerading as my chauffeur!
Chris: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on. Back up a little bit, little lady. Who said anything about this being over? I still need my cover.
Erica: And what is that supposed to mean?

[Chris laughs]

Chris: It means you still got your driver and we're still stuck with each other.

Greenlee: I want to believe you, Daddy. I want to believe that you'd break the law just because you love me.
Roger: Oh, I do. I -- I do love you.
Jake: Greenlee --
Greenlee: I'm still not sure I understand what you were doing with Erica's files.
Roger: Honey, I was -- I was there to make money for you. Do you really need more than that?
Greenlee: I guess not.
Roger: Then you trust me? Finally? Honey, my heart is so full.
Jake: Of what?
Roger: Of hope and of -- of pride.
Jake: Pride? Really? Roger: You -- you stood up for me. Now, that -- that took courage, especially since you didn't know the facts.
Greenlee: I covered for you. There's a difference.
Roger: Well, not really. You -- you put yourself on the line for me. I -- I would have been lost without you.
Greenlee: Don't read too much into it, Daddy.
Roger: Why not? Why not? It's a first. It -- it means there's still a chance for us and -- at least I hope there's a chance. You do forgive me for what happened tonight?
Greenlee: I just want all the bad stuff behind us, ok?
Roger: Me, too. And we're on the way, I can tell.
Greenlee: Don't ever do this to me again.
Roger: I won't. I --
Greenlee: Promise me.
Roger: I promise. I promise. You have my word. It's been a long night and you -- you must be tired. You need to get some sleep.
Jake: Are you really going to get any sleep tonight, Roger?
Roger: Oh, you bet, Jake, as long as I know my little girl isn't mad at me.
Greenlee: I'm not. Good night.
Roger: Sweet dreams, Honey.
Roger: You know what? I don't deserve you.
Jake: You got that right.

Greenlee: Don't lecture me, Jake. I know I'm an idiot.
Jake: Because you love your father?
Greenlee: Because I feel sorry for him, because I let him use me over and over again. I should write him off, I know that, but he needed me. You saw that, and, I mean, he's got no one else.
Jake: But that's not your fault, Greenlee.
Greenlee: But still, it feels awful to feel so alone. Go on! Say it, fine! I'm an easy mark.
Jake: I wasn't going to say that at all.
Greenlee: You weren't?
Jake: I was just going to do this.

[Jake kisses Greenlee]

Erica: Let's get one thing straight, Mr. Stamp. You work for me! And you will continue working for me at my discretion.
Chris: Uh-uh. Sorry. It doesn't work that way.
Erica: No one in the government has cleared this with me!
Chris: You think that's their first priority? Unbelievable!
Erica: I think this entire investigation of yours is completely unprofessional!
Chris: I'm unprofessional, huh? Well, if it weren't for me, you never would have found out about this in the first place, Ms. Kane.
Erica: Oh, well, I'll tell you something I've known all along -- I don't trust you.
Chris: Oh. That's beautiful. It's so you. You claim to be this anti-drug queen, you bump heads with some agent and -- boom! -- You forget about everything else?
Erica: Oh, now, that's not fair!
Chris: You know, what are you really doing, huh, other than protecting your own personal space? Apparently, that means a hell of a lot more to you than kids popping pills in our school yards.
Erica: Oh! How dare you! I have put up with you and your interference and your arrogance for one reason and one reason only -- because I do care because I know firsthand what poison drugs are! But that does not give you the right to walk all over me. Do you understand me?
Chris: Fine.
Erica: Good.
Chris: Are you through?
Erica: Not quite. The federal agents, they make their own rules. Well, this is my world and I make the rules here. Now, I will take that Roger Smythe's wiretap because I will not be kept out of the loop.
Chris: Help yourself.
Erica: Thank you, I will. Don't you dare bug my office one more time because I intend to have my own team sweep this on a regular basis.
Chris: Anything else? Are you done?
Erica: No, I'm not done. You hurt my company and I will have my friends in the Senate take you on and you will be washing bathrooms for the rest of your life for real, Mr. Stamp.
Chris: Now are you done?
Erica: For the moment.
Chris: Word of warning, Ms. Kane.
Erica: What?
Chris: You are now in the big leagues. You have no idea of the power behind this drug operation. It could be anyone, anywhere. And just so you know, they kill first and they ask questions later, and if I were you, I'd stop worrying about my company and start worrying about the people's lives around me, including your own.
Erica: The power could be anyone, anywhere? Does that also include someone posing as a federal agent, Mr. Stamp?

Adam: So all those years, you thought your father was dead and he was really here living with Marian and Liza.
Mia: Yeah. That about sums it up.
Adam: That's devastating -- to lose your mother and then all those years thinking your father was dead and then discovering that he'd walked out on you?
Mia: You can save your pity really.
Adam: You lost your uncle, too. Looks like Liza is the only family you have.
Mia: Yeah. Lucky me.
Adam: Hmm. That's why you need her.
Mia: Liza is the last thing that I need. I am so sick of people telling me that I have to try to understand Liza all the time. Can I use your phone, or is that off-limits, too?
Adam: No, no, no. Help yourself.

Mia: Hi, yeah. Can I have the police station? Yeah. You brought someone in tonight, a Ryan Lavery. Oh, you're kidding! Who? Oh, Liza Chandler. And how long ago was that? Wow. Ok. Ok, thanks. Bye.

Mia: See, it looks like Liza might have given Ryan a second thought. She got his charges dropped.
Adam: Well, then, she should -- be back here soon.
Mia: Well, I wouldn't count on it. See, the cop told me that after she sprung him they left together.

[TV plays]

TV announcer: Fighting continued tonight between factions along the Israeli Syrian border. Initial reports claim Israeli jet fighters bombed a guerrilla base, killing at least 49 soldiers and 13 civilians.
