ALL MY CHILDREN

SEPTEMBER 19, 2001

PREVIOUSLY - - - - ON ALL MY CHILDREN

Liza: You can take your secrets and your lies and you can shove them!

[Door slams]

Mia: I guess her boyfriend's waiting.

Greenlee: I bet that I can get you back in my bed before your three-month anniversary.

Chris: I'm a federal agent. That's why I had to stay close to you.
Erica: Then you're not really in love with me?

[Computer beeps]

Erica: "Access denied"? Oh. Ok, Roger, whatever you planted in my computer, I'm going to find it, and you are history.
Greenlee: Who, me? I'm history?
Erica: No, not yet, but you're close, given your latest screw up. These new Enchantment ads you've been working on --
Greenlee: Yeah, what about them?
Erica: You've got the captions reversed.
Greenlee: But "Tempo" did this layout.
Erica: I don't care who did them. They are your responsibility. Now you fix them now.

Erica: Bianca.
Bianca: Hi.
Erica: Hi.
Bianca: I missed you this morning. Do you have time for a coffee break?
Erica: Oh, Honey, I would really love that, I would, but my day is already crazy.
Bianca: Really? Already?
Erica: Yes, it is, I'm afraid, so -- you got home all right last night?
Bianca: Sure.
Erica: Yeah. I -- you were asleep when I came in. I didn't want to disturb you, but I really hated leaving you at that sleazy bar.
Bianca: It was fine. It was just boring. That's all.
Erica: Greenlee, what are you doing here?
Greenlee: Oh, just wishing I was Bianca. I mean, I wouldn't call it boring if two hunky guys were fighting over me -- not that your daughter would care.
Erica: What?
Greenlee: I'll let Bianca tell you the rest of the story. Bye.

Erica: What two boys?
Bianca: It wasn't like that, Mom. Don't you dare be happy about this.

Adam: Ok. All right, one more trip. Then your pony gets a rest.
Liza: Hello.
Colby: Mommy!
Liza: Give me a hug. Yeah. Oh. Oh. Did you have breakfast?
Colby: Yes.
Liza: What did you have?
Colby: Pancakes.
Liza: Pancakes? Oh, I'm sorry I missed that.
Colby: It --
Liza: Mostly I missed you, though.
Colby: I missed you.
Adam: Um, maybe your mommy's hungry. Why don't you go tell Winifred she's home?
Colby: Ok.
Liza: Ok. Thank you.

Liza: Can we just get into this later?
Adam: You come home exhausted after spending the night with another man? We will damn well discuss it right now.

Laura: Mom, aren't you going to be late for work?
Brooke: I don't care. It's so great to see you like this.
Laura: Like what?
Brooke: Like -- I don't know, Honey. You just seem really happy.
Laura: Mom, just -- just waking up next to Leo -- it's amazing.
Brooke: Ah. Well, that's the way it should be.
Laura: I didn't have a clue. I mean, I think I was just so uptight being around him before, but we've really gotten over that.
Brooke: That's great.
Laura: Yeah. I think -- I think we're closer than ever.
Brooke: You know what, Honey? If you're lucky, it'll just get better.
Laura: It will.
Brooke: Mm-hmm.
Laura: I'll make sure of it.

Edmund: Leo, have you seen Brooke?
Leo: Uh, not so far. Is there anything I can do?
Edmund: No, thanks, I need to see her.
Greenlee: And I need to talk to Mr. du Pres.
Leo: Greenlee, I'm busy.
Greenlee: Whatever you're doing can wait.
Leo: No, I don't think so.
Edmund: Ok, listen, guys, I'm out of here.
Greenlee: No. Please stay. This problem is business.
Edmund: What's wrong?
Greenlee: Your magazine -- with Leo's help -- has totally messed up Enchantment's new ad campaign.
Edmund: How? Give me details.
Leo: Details? Come on, Edmund, she's making this up. The only reason Greenlee's here is because she wants to trash my marriage.
Greenlee: This copy was launching our new hair and makeup line.
Edmund: I remember.
Greenlee: So the model with the red hair has Enchantment 4 Alarm color in her hair, but Leo put the caption for Enchantment's lip shine on that ad.
Leo: Oh -- that's ridiculous.
Greenlee: No, it's a lawsuit, unless you people can fix it.
Edmund: Leo, look at the copy.
Greenlee: This model is wearing the lip shine, and what does the caption say?
Leo: "4 Alarm Color."
Edmund: You owe the lady an apology.
Leo: How did this happen?
Edmund: I'll make this right if the issue hasn't gone to bed.
Greenlee: Thank you.

Leo: Greenlee, what's the deal? You signed off on these.
Greenlee: No, I didn't. You took them back before I had the chance to initial them. Remember why? We made our bet -- that I'd have you back in my bed again. Did I distract you?
Leo: No.
Greenlee: No? Look how you messed up. Seems to me like my odds of winning this bet just keep getting better all the time.

Liza: Would you keep your voice down?
Adam: Look, Mia took it upon herself to call the police. They said that you had bailed Ryan out and that you two had left together. You didn't come home all night. What am I supposed to think?
Liza: Well, thank you, Mia.
Adam: No, don't blame her. You owe me an explanation.
Liza: All right. You want to know? I went to the police station. I got Ryan out. He didn't have anywhere to go, so I got him a room for the night.
Adam: Oh, you did? And you stayed there with him.
Liza: Yes. I slept in a chair, sat in a chair fully dressed.
Adam: Why?
Liza: Because I didn't want to come home! Because I cried myself to sleep. That was my big night with Ryan. Are you satisfied?
Adam: No. I mean, I believe you. I'm just not happy about it.
Liza: Oh, you think I am? This con woman, Mia? You tell me, "Oh, I don't know who she is," when in truth you really do know who she is, and she's got her hooks in you?
Adam: No, no, it's the other way around. She joined my regular weekly poker game and lost a bundle.
Liza: To you?
Adam: Yes, to me. She couldn't pay it back, of course, so I said if she did some work for me, we'd be even.
Liza: Hmm. What kind of work?
Adam: Getting close to David Hayward and trying to get some dirt on him so I could use it against him.
Liza: Hmm. So what this is, is a -- it goes right back to one of your horrible little schemes.
Adam: This was before you changed the rules.
Liza: No.
Adam: I'm not employing your sister anymore.
Liza: She is not my sister.
Adam: Well, fine! I don't care who she is.
Liza: Ugh.
Adam: Just ask her if I'm telling the truth.
Liza: Why should I ask her? She lies about everything!
Adam: Do you see what a double standard you're creating here?
Liza: No, I don't.
Adam: You can keep all the secrets you want, you can go off and spend the night in a motel room with another man, and I'm being held to a -- to a standard that a boy scout couldn't survive! If that's the bargain you're making, then we might as well just give it up right now.

Erica: So, we're talking about a gay-bashing.
Bianca: Mom, the guy called me a couple of names.
Erica: But Ryan felt that you were in danger.
Bianca: Ryan overreacted, and then it was over, really.
Erica: I've been so afraid of this. I was so afraid this would happen ever since you made your announcement.
Bianca: Mom, I was outed, remember? It's not like I issued a press release.
Erica: First I leave you alone, and then you have to go home to an empty house.
Bianca: I didn't go right home.
Erica: Where did you go?
Bianca: I went to the Blue Angel.
Erica: Isn't that -- that -- that bar?
Bianca: Yeah, yeah. It's the very, very scary lesbian bar.
Erica: Look, the point is, is that it is a bar, and you are too young legally.
Bianca: Mom, I was at a bar last night with you and Opal and Myrtle.
Erica: Yes, you were, with three adults. That is very different.
Bianca: Well, then it's really funny that I got hassled there and not at the Blue Angel.
Erica: But you were upset and you knew I was working late. Why didn't you come here?
Bianca: Mom, I just -- I wanted to just be myself for a while with people who don't automatically think that I'm a freak.
Erica: Well, I don't think that of you.
Bianca: You can't even say the word "lesbian."
Erica: All right, after you went to the lesbian bar, what then?
Bianca: Before or after the orgy? I had a soda! I listened to some music. And then I felt better, so I went home. And that is it.
Erica: And that guy who called you names -- he could've followed you to the bar.
Bianca: Yeah, but he didn't.
Erica: Not this time.
Bianca: Mom, why are you trying to make this my fault? I'm not the problem here. It's people who think that it's ok to hate somebody just because they're different.
Erica: But you don't have --

[Phone rings]

Bianca: Hello?
Laura: Bianca? It's Laura.
Bianca: Laura? Wow.
Laura: I know.
Bianca: Are you ok?
Laura: Yeah, yeah. I was just -- I was wondering what you were doing.
Bianca: Oh. Nothing much.
Laura: You want to come over?
Bianca: Sure. When?
Laura: Now is good.
Bianca: Ok. I'm on my way.
Laura: Great.
Bianca: Bye.

Bianca: That was Laura. I have to go.
Erica: Bianca, we're not finished.
Bianca: Mom --
Erica: Honey, you are too young to be going to bars -- any bars.
Bianca: All right.
Erica: And the next time your hassled, please promise that you'll come to me.
Bianca: Ok, I promise.
Erica: Well, you don't have to make it sound like a punishment. I love you.
Bianca: I love you, too.
Erica: Ok.
Bianca: Ok.
Erica: All right.
Bianca: Bye-bye.

Chris: Hi, Bianca.
Bianca: Hi, Mr. Stamp.
Chris: You look very pretty.
Bianca: Thank you.

Chris: Problem with the kid?
Erica: No. Nothing I care to discuss with you. As a matter of fact, I would really appreciate it if you would clear out of my office. I'm really not in the mood for your orders or your investigation or -- or whatever, you know, spy gadget you've got hidden behind your back.
Chris: Well, it's pretty low-tech and I'm hoping that it works. It's a tension defuser.
Erica: A what?
Chris: We didn't leave off on the greatest of notes last night, so these are for you.

Leo: I cannot believe that I messed these up.
Greenlee: Hmm. Like I said, you were distracted.
Leo: Not by you.
Greenlee: Hmm, no. Probably by your needy, clinging wife.
Leo: No quackity quack, Greenlee. Keep it up. You're not going to get to me, all right?

Brooke: Leo?
Leo: Hey.
Brooke: What's going on?
Leo: Uh --
Greenlee: Your son-in-law just made a really big boo-boo.
Leo: The -- the captions on these Enchantment ads got reversed.
Brooke: Didn't you ok them?
Greenlee: Leo never gave me the chance.
Brooke: Why not?
Greenlee: You have to ask him. Apparently, his mind was someplace else.
Brooke: Uh, Edmund, do you know about the problem with these ads?
Edmund: Greenlee? Greenlee: Oh. I can wait outside.
Edmund: Thank you.

Brooke: Ahem.
Leo: Oh.
Brooke: Were you able to stop production?
Edmund: Yes. But a quarter of the issue is already printed with the mistakes.
Leo: Whew. It's a good thing we caught it.
Edmund: Leo, do you know how expensive it is to stop a run and redo a layout? Not to mention all the defective copies that we can't sell?
Brooke: Edmund -- it's not the end of the world. And, Leo, I am betting that this will never happen again, am I right?
Leo: No, it won't, Brooke. You know why? Because I fire myself or you fire me, effective immediately.

Bianca: So. So, what's up?
Laura: Oh, everything. Being married to Leo is the best.
Bianca: I'm glad.
Laura: I mean, I know you didn't think so.

Bianca: Laura, I was just worried about you.
Laura: Yeah, because you thought he still had feelings for Greenlee.
Bianca: Yeah.
Laura: Well, so did I. I guess that's why I was so mad at you. You were sort of hitting a nerve, but every day, things are getting clearer. I think Leo really loves me, and he only wants to make me happy. It's incredible.
Bianca: Well, you really do deserve it.
Laura: Last night we were in the car, he started just driving into the middle of nowhere.
Bianca: Why?
Laura: Because he couldn't wait. He had to make love to me right then. And it was so intense. He didn't even treat me like an invalid. It was like he started doing this --
Bianca: Ok, Laura, time out.
Laura: Sorry.
Bianca: No, it's all right.
Laura: No, no. I mean, I'm babbling on and on. I haven't even asked you how you are.
Bianca: Actually, last night was kind of tough. I was at The Pit, and this guy came up to me and started hassling me and calling me Lesbo, and Ryan Lavery had to rescue me by beating this guy to a pulp.
Laura: Oh, that's horrible.
Bianca: I know.
Laura: It's like a guy can't handle it if a woman doesn't want him. That's why Leo is so amazing -- he isn't like that at all. It's like he doesn't have to prove anything. He knows he's good. So it's all about pleasing me.
Bianca: Laura, that's between you and Leo.
Laura: I know. I'm just saying I know why it's hard for Greenlee to give him up. Speaking of which, do you run into her a lot now that she works for your mom?
Bianca: More than I'd like to. Why?
Laura: Well, I was thinking maybe you could pass it along that my marriage is more than I could've hoped for and hotter than ever.
Bianca: You want me to tell Greenlee about your sex life?

Erica: Well, they're lovely. What are you up to?
Chris: What? Can't I just give you flowers as a way to -- for the heck of it?
Erica: I don't think so.
Chris: Ok, well, it's -- it's possible I could've handled things a little bit better.
Erica: You mean, like spying on me? You mean, like thinking that I was a drug lord?
Chris: Yeah, the whole shebang. But I was working within bureau restrictions and that was kind of difficult, especially when you're a suspect. And the thing is, is --
Erica: What?
Chris: Look, Ms. Kane, there is a major drug operation being run out of your company, and until I can hone in on the responsible individual, yes, you are a suspect. Now, that being said, we also learn in the bureau that when we have to lie, we are -- well, so to use as much of the truth as we can.
Erica: You told me that you loved me. Are you saying there was a kernel of truth in that?
Chris: Well, can I help it if you're almost illegally beautiful?
Erica: Yeah, it's a burden, but I try to carry it gracefully.
Chris: Like you do everything.
Erica: Enough, Mr. Stamp, ok?
Chris: Ok, ok. So, what's going on this morning in the wacky world of Enchantment?
Erica: Oh. I found a file that I can't access.
Chris: And you think Roger Smythe might've put them there?
Erica: Well, don't you? So I've called a computer expert. He's coming over.
Chris: To do what?
Erica: To delete the files.
Chris: No, no, no, wait. Are you crazy? You can't do that.
Erica: Well, I have to do that because they could be a virus. It could just destroy months of data.
Chris: Well, what if it was the drug cartel that hid those files in your hard drive? You can't touch them. Look, I thought we settled all of this last night.
Erica: Oh, my God. I fell for it. You weren't apologizing at all, were you?
Chris: Excuse me?
Erica: You just want your own way, so you pile on the flattery and -- how big a fool do you think I am?
Chris: Oh, you really want me to answer that?
Jack: Erica, you shouldn't have.
Erica: Ugh -- I didn't. Will you get out of here?
Chris: Well, if you keep your mouth shut --
Erica: Go!

Chris: Good luck.
Jack: Right back at you.

Erica: Ooh! Oh, that man! That man is just so arrogant and so manipulative and so irresponsible!
Jack: And you want him so badly your toes are curling.
Erica: What? | I mean, the truth? I would be happy never to lay eyes on him again.
Jack: Now, isn't that ironic? I remember you saying almost the exact same words to me just before we launched into a passionate affair.
Erica: Jack. Jack, this is so totally different.
Jack: Well, maybe you won't think so when you find out the -- a little bit more about Mr. Stamp's real story.
Erica: You found out that he's in the FBI?
Jack: Yes, I did and I was so proud of that. How -- how did you find this out?
Erica: I forced it out of him.
Jack: What did you threaten him with? The dreaded eyelash curler?
Erica: No. I just got up in his face.
Jack: My God. He must've crumbled.
Erica: Did you find out anything else?
Jack: Well, there's no Mrs. Stamp, if that's what you mean.
Erica: What I mean is, was he ever on the other side of the law? Does he have a criminal record?
Jack: No, no. I mean, there was -- there was a rumor of an internal investigation at the FBI, But that was 10 years ago and, frankly, I can't say that there's any truth to that rumor.
Erica: Well, I wouldn't be surprised.
Jack: What I can't figure out is why he's got himself so deeply connected with Enchantment here. Oh. But you have.
Erica: Yes.
Jack: And?
Erica: I can't tell you.
Jack: And why is that?
Erica: Look, Jack, I'm sorry, but I gave him my word.
Jack: You mean you can't even tell your own lawyer, the man you asked to protect you from this guy?
Erica: No.
Jack: Well, then, Baby, you're in way over your head.
Erica: Well, if I am, I'm going to call on you to pull me out.
Jack: Yeah. Montgomery to the rescue, huh?
Erica: Well, seriously, I just may need you.
Jack: Well, seriously, Erica, then you have a problem because I won't be around much longer.
Erica: What are you talking about?
Jack: I'm talking about you may need another fallback guy because I am out of here.

Laura: I mean, I'm not asking you to lie.
Bianca: I know, but for me to say what goes on in your bedroom --
Laura: Oh, but not just the bedroom. I mean, what happened last night in the car was --
Bianca: You mentioned that.
Laura: Leo was wild. I've never seen him like that.
Bianca: So, wait. You -- you want me to gossip about you and Leo having hot sex in your car?
Laura: Well, just to Greenlee so she knows that she lost. I mean, if I told her, she probably wouldn't believe me, but coming from you -- what do you think?
Bianca: I think you're using me.

Brooke: Leo, nobody is coddling you.
Leo: Come on, Brooke. I just made a huge mistake, and you're acting like I made a little typo. What do they call that kind of special treatment -- nepotism? I'll tell you what. I have been called a lot of things in my lifetime, but I have never been called a nepot. What, is that funny to you?
Brooke: No.
Leo: I'm serious. I made a big mistake and I need to accept the responsibility for it, and I think I'd like to start with the mess that I just made.
Edmund: How?
Leo: Uh, well, I don't -- maybe -- maybe we could give the ad space that Lacey's just dumped to Enchantment.
Edmund: It's not a bad idea.
Brooke: You're right. And I'm not just saying this because I am your mother-in-law. There might be hope for you yet, Leo.
Leo: Oh, you think so?
Brooke: Oh -- of course, we still have to apologize to Erica.
Leo: No, no, let me handle the fallout with that. I'm the one who made the mistake.
Brooke: Oh, I'm not going to say no to that.
Edmund: Me, neither. And by the way, Leo, there's no such thing as a nepot.
Leo: I knew that. Whatever.

Greenlee: Where did Brooke and Edmund go?
Leo: Well, I told them that I would take care of this.
Greenlee: Can you?
Leo: Look, Greenlee, I want to apologize to you about the way I treated you earlier.
Greenlee: Hmm. You should.
Leo: And I want to make it up to you by offering you the same ad in next month's issue for free.
Greenlee: I guess Erica can accept that.
Leo: Great.
Greenlee: But how are you going to keep it from happening again?
Leo: Well -- there's only one answer to that question, Greenlee. I think that you know what it is.
Greenlee: Are you saying what I think you're saying?
Leo: Look, this job could be a real career starter for me, and I think that we know seeing you at work affects my job skills and everything else.
Greenlee: I don't want that any more than you do, so let's stop pretending. We were meant for each other.
Leo: Well, hold on. You think that I want to get back together with you?
Greenlee: Isn't that what you're talking about?
Leo: No, Greenlee, that's not what I'm talking about. That's not the solution. That's the problem. We have to stop seeing each other, period. Not at work, not socially, and sure as hell not in private. Can you see what this is doing to us? This is making us self-destruct.

Adam: You feel better?
Liza: Not so grungy, anyway.
Adam: Liza -- Liza, does this make any sense? Living like this? This is your home, not a place where you come to change clothes.
Liza: I don't like it, either, but I'm not backing down.
Adam: So you're going to keep this up? That you can take my daughter away from me?
Liza: Unless you stop manipulating everyone. Even knowing the threat, you can't stop getting into trouble.
Adam: All right, all right. If that's the way you feel about it, I have a confession to make. This morning before you got home, I was doing everything you hate -- lying, manipulating.
Liza: Why are you telling me this?
Adam: Because you need to know everything that I do. Then you can decide whether you want to stay in this marriage or not.
Liza: Adam, I'm not playing.
Adam: No, neither am I, Liza. I thought long and hard before I decided to break your rules.
Liza: What did you do?
Adam: I lied to Colby, shamelessly, deliberately. She wanted to know why her mother wasn't home.
Liza: What did you tell her?
Adam: I told her you had work to do, that everything was fine, which wasn't easy because I was worried sick about you myself.
Liza: Well, thank you for protecting her.
Adam: Hmm. Yeah, I thought -- I decided a good, solid lie was the best thing for Colby.
Liza: I can't remember it happening.
Adam: What?
Liza: My life turning upside down.
Adam: Well, now that you're aware of it, maybe you can start putting the pieces back together.
Liza: What if it doesn't fit anymore?
Adam: Liza, I know that you've been -- been going through a rough time. All I can ask is that you -- is you be strong, for Colby's sake. I know I -- I could keep lying to her, but you don't want that.
Liza: No, no.
Adam: You know what it's like having a mother with a reputation it doesn't take much. If anyone had seen you and Ryan at the motel last night --
Liza: You make me sound like a slut.
Adam: No. Of course you're not a slut -- any more than I'm a saint. But I've done some things in my life that have been pretty hard to live down. But I'm proud of one thing -- I have always put my family first. Always. Liza -- can't we just start over? Liza, let's start with -- with no ultimatums. Just you and me and our family, the way it was meant to be.

Erica: Jack -- you can't abandon me now.
Jack: Oh, don't worry, Erica, you'll still have me to kick around. I just won't be working here anymore.
Erica: What are you talking about? You have to. You're Enchantment's legal counsel.
Jack: And it's been a great ride. The bonus, of course, being that I've gotten to spend time with you. But I've been approached about going back to being DA
Erica: Oh. I mean, that's wonderful for you.
Jack: Oh, actually, it can be a big pain in the -- but it will put me back in the public eye.
Erica: Do you want that?
Jack: Well, you see, there's been talk about me running for governor down the line, so I suppose it's a good idea.
Erica: Oh. Of course. Oh, you'd be a magnificent governor.
Jack: Oh. Thank you very much.
Erica: It's just -- I mean, what are we going to do without you? What is Enchantment going to do without you? What will I do without you, Jack? I mean it, Jack. I just -- I depend on you so much. I -- I don't mean just, you know, for -- for legal counsel.
Jack: Yeah. You know, you see what you're doing right now?
Erica: What?
Jack: You're doing a Chris Stamp on me.
Erica: What are you talking about?
Jack: You're flirting with me, you're flattering me to get what you want. Now, isn't that exactly what you accused him of doing? You know, now that I think of it, you two might just be perfect for each other.

Laura: Bianca, I'm not using you.
Bianca: Laura, I don't know if you meant to, but that's why you brought me over here today -- so that I could tell Greenlee your news.
Laura: Look, I don't care if you talk to Greenlee or not, ok? I'm sorry I brought it up.
Bianca: You did bring it up, and I think I know why -- you still have doubts about Leo.
Laura: Bianca, I told you. My marriage is better than ever. If anyone has doubts, it's you. You're jealous.
Bianca: Are you kidding?
Laura: No, I wish. But I'm never going to play for your side. And I guess you just can't accept that. You still have these feelings for me.
Bianca: No, I don't. Not anymore. You know, I was attracted to you, and whether you know it or not, you liked it. You wanted me to want you until Leo came along.
Laura: Bianca, that is not true.
Bianca: You have no idea how selfish you are, Laura. I mean, here I am telling you about this horrible night I had last night, and all you can say is, "oh, gee, I'm sorry," and then go back to talking about Leo.
Laura: You're exaggerating.
Bianca: No, I'm not. Laura, you need people to love you, and you don't know how to love them back. That is something that you have to work on, but I can't help you. I'm moving on. Scratch that -- I have moved on.

Greenlee: We've already tried avoiding each other. It doesn't work. We can't fight it. In fact, I don't think we can wait three months to get back in bed together. Right now I don't think we'll make it to the end of the week.
Leo: Greenlee, you have to hear me when I tell you this.

[Phone rings]

Leo: Hold on. Hold on one second. Leo du Pres.
Laura: Hey. It's me.
Leo: Laura. Hey, are you ok?
Laura: No. Can you come home?
Leo: Yeah, I'll be right there.

Greenlee: The little woman?
Leo: Greenlee, give it up!
Edmund: And, by the way, I didn't tell you before -- you handled that Leo problem very well.
Brooke: Oh, thank you. You know, it's really a balancing act because I honestly want to help him.
Edmund: Yeah, but you don't want to pamper him.
Brooke: Well, he hates that.
Edmund: He's not alone.
Brooke: Are you talking about Anna?
Edmund: Well, I haven't heard from her since she went to visit Robin.
Brooke: Well, she'll be back.
Edmund: I don't know.
Brooke: Well, I mean, would that be ok with you? If she didn't come back?
Edmund: My ego may take it a little, you know, on the chin here, but -- you know, I wouldn't be able to get away with my bad habits living with a former spy.
Brooke: Edmund, come on. Even without WSB training, I know that you drink milk straight from the carton.
Edmund: Wow. Finally busted? What else haven't you told me?
Brooke: Plenty.
Edmund: Really?
Brooke: Really.

Liza: Adam --
Adam: No, Liza, please, please, please let me finish. I'm trying very hard to be the man you want me to be. But it would make it a lot easier if you could trust me. Just give me a little room to breathe. Please.
Liza: I can't make any decisions right now.
Adam: When, then?
Liza: I don't know. I think I just need to get away from all this, you know?
Adam: Really? Well, if -- if that's what you need, fine. We'll get on the jet and get the hell out of here.
Liza: No, no. There's really only one person that I feel like being around right now. My little girl.
Adam: Ah. Right. Well, why don't you and Colby take a vacation?
Liza: I think that might be best. So I'm going to -- I'm going to pack some things.

Adam: This is intolerable!

Adam: Yeah. Mia? It's Adam. I need to see you. No, not about Liza. It's about your pal Ryan Lavery.

Erica: Look, Jack, I know you like to tease me, and I think that I take it in a really good spirit, but for you to say that I am anything like that Mr. Stamp in any way -- I mean, that just -- this is not true.
Jack: Yes, it is. I'm just surprised it took me so long to see it. But now that my eyes are open, I realize that leaving is exactly the right thing to do because, Baby, I don't want to be around when whatever happens between the two of you happens.
Erica: Jack -- Jack, what are you talking about?
Jack: She's all yours.
Chris: Gee. Thanks a lot.
Erica: I'll call you, Jack, soon.

Chris: Did you tell him?
Erica: Not a word, so you didn't have to come back and check up on me. Good-bye.
Chris: Ms. Kane, look --
Erica: No, you look, Mr. Stamp. We may have to work together, but I've really had enough for one day, ok?
Chris: Look, the day isn't over yet.
Erica: It is if I say it is, you insufferable --

[Chris grabs Erica and kisses her]

Chris: You think I'm putting one over on you? Now, you tell me -- was I for real or was that a con? Now the day's over, Ms. Kane, because I say so.

Greenlee: Daddy?
Roger: What's wrong, Sweetheart?

Leo: Laura --
Laura: Wow! You made good time.
Leo: Yeah, I ran every light to get here. How's your heart?
Laura: It's ok.
Leo: Oh, God. I thought -- I thought that you --
Laura: Oh, I'm sorry I scared you.
Leo: But you sounded pretty bad on the phone.
Laura: Yeah. Bianca was here. She -- she said some really horrible things to me.
Leo: You had a fight?
Laura: Yeah.
Leo: You call me home from work because you had a fight?
Laura: Yeah, I was really upset.
Leo: Yeah, I understand that, Laura, but I was working.
Laura: Oh, well, I'm sure it'll be ok. I mean, I can clear it with my mom if it comes up, but she probably doesn't even know you're gone.
Leo: Oh. Oh, yeah. Because my job is joke, right? What, do you think that I'm in charge of the paper clips?
Laura: No --
Leo: No, Laura, listen to me. I'm going to tell you something because I have to make this clear. I am your husband. I'm not your kept boy!
